“Kekekeke. Ahaha. What a funny guy. I like him. Do you have any plans to change your master? I think I can offer you a better deal than the dead emperor.”
“Um. I’m sorry but the relationship between the Emperor and me is quite strong so I can’t just turn it around.”
“That’s funny. The union guys sold you out you know.”
“….”
Azadin was startled. It was a top secret that the Korasarr Peddler Guild was actually run by the Heralds. And the Count knew about it.
Did Derek reveal it?
“Ah don’t worry. In my case I found out because I had a separate way of finding out. As of now I’m the only one who knows that the Peddler Guild is a messenger clan. So even though the Guild sold you out you still plan on being loyal to the organization?”
“Even if you don’t really want to be loyal you don’t want to be under someone who’s bathing in a fountain of blood do you?”
“You can gain eternal life. Not only that you can gain power. Power eternal life wealth fame and everything else. Why would you turn it down and continue to be a messenger that everyone despises? Huh?”
“I’m sorry but you don’t fit my aesthetic.”
Azadin tucked the bow that had dropped its arrows into his body and picked up his sword. Then he took a deep breath and channeled the power of the Kajas Sea Breeze throughout his body.
A sense of openness runs along the entire spine as if connected to the universe and even in this unclean bloodbath a powerful force flows into Azadin’s body.
“Huh?”
The Count seemed to sense something from Azadin.
“How presumptuous. How dare you a soulless blasphemer speak so eloquently to a descendant of the great gods.”
As the Count glared at Azadin the two women entangled with his body slid away and disappeared into the blood like snakes.
“Well that’s good. I know how to elicit loyalty from those types of people.”
At that moment several figures rose from the bath of blood.
“Kikki.”
There were two men wearing falcon masks with blue sparkles shining from their eyes.
“Ugh!?”
Azadin knew who they were as soon as he saw their falcon masks.
‘That damn regional chief! You didn’t tell me anything when I asked you what happened to the previous messenger so why are you here?’
Before Azadin the messenger in charge of this area was Harad and Kebna the messenger in charge of the northern neighboring area was also there.
Both were known only as deaths during a mission. If they were at the Count’s castle they would have gone missing while on a related mission nearby but the local chief kept his mouth shut for fear of being held responsible.

“This is the key to how I found out that the peddler guild is the messenger clan. Their loyalty is absolute. It’s easy to reveal the clan’s secrets.”
The count said so and stepped back.
“Then I will get dressed and ready. In the meantime kill this rude bastard or capture him alive and make him loyal to me. And reveal the whereabouts of the copy of the New King’s Book.”
“yes!”
The two men who had once been messengers bowed to the Count who then disappeared beneath the surface of the bloodbath.
“….”
Azadin wanted to pursue the Count but he did not know how this bloodbath was structured and the former messengers blocked his way so he could not act rashly.
“By the way who is this? Isn’t that the famous Azadin? Are you really my successor? It seems like there’s no talent in Aragasa!”
Harad and Kevna men wearing falcon masks with blue sparkles shining from their eyes pulled out their moonbows.
*********
Originally the Moonlight Palace would deteriorate rapidly if it got wet. It was made of composite materials and boasted overwhelming power despite its small size but it was also difficult to maintain so if it was used on a rainy day it had to be meticulously maintained.
So the Moon Palace of those who appeared in the blood bath cannot possibly function properly…
-Shhh!
An arrow flies towards Azadin.
‘That’s ridiculous.’
The bows of those lying in the bloodbath are functioning properly. Azadin caught the flying arrow but the force of the arrow was so strong that he had to step back.
Azadin has stronger physical abilities than the other messengers but he is up against two messengers. There are many of them and they shoot arrows at the same time. The arrows are also soaked in blood and slippery so it is difficult.
“uh?”
Harad and Kevna were surprised when Azadin grabbed the arrow.
“You’re catching arrows on this street? Our arrows at that?”
“Has your bow become weak from being soaked in blood?”
They thought that there was a problem with their bows rather than Azadin’s outstanding ability. They were unable to break that prejudice because Azadin was known for being incompetent within the Herald Clan.
‘It’s better for me. Okay let your guard down.’
Azadin caught the arrow he had snatched.
Should I hang it on a bow and shoot it? But if I hang it on a bow blood will get on the bow.
‘Seeing as how their bows are in good shape I guess it’s okay for them to get soaked in blood. But if not it’ll be a pain to repair.’
Then suddenly drops of blood rose from the blood bath. Four spheres floated around Azadin.
“Hoo hoo hoo hoo.”
In the darkness four clumps of blood shot out at Azadin. The high-pressure water jets flew towards Azadin like spears. Azadin spun around to avoid the flying drops of blood and landed.
“Avoiding that?”
“That’s pretty good! I heard you’re the biggest idiot in the clan!”
Azadin’s predecessor Harad plunges his sword into the water of the bloodbath and slashes upward with a loud slash. Blood sprays up aiming for Azadin.
“Tch!”
He swung his sword and split the blood pool but the two messengers took advantage of the gap to split on Azadin’s left and right. Surrounding him on both sides they fired spittle from their mouths and daggers.
But Azadin opened his left hand. The arrows that the two previous messengers had shot were caught between Azadin’s fingers and he swung them like a fan warding off the flying daggers and needles.
and….
-Pop!

An arrow struck the chest of former Herald Harad.
“100 million?!”
Azadin didn’t even nock the arrow but threw it like a dart and sank it into Harad’s chest.
“You idiot.”
Kevna laughed.
“No that kid’s throwing is much faster than I expected.”
Former Herald Harad who was hit by an arrow made excuses.
‘Are you so relaxed?’
Azadin clicked his tongue and looked at them. Despite being wounded he felt no pain and did not experience any dysfunction.
“Is it undead? Or was the hit too shallow?”
Azadin threw an arrow and pierced the messenger’s body but the power of an arrow thrown by hand was limited. It got caught in the leather armor and did not penetrate the flesh properly.
‘I wonder if it would be effective to go all the way to that situation.’
Azadin lamented that they had been turned into monsters by the Count. Although they were the ones who ignored and mocked Azadin it was heartbreaking that they were of the same clan and had become the lackeys of the corrupted Count.
“Kekekeke. How did an idiot like you become a herald? The honor of being an imperial herald has fallen to the ground.”
“If the honor of the Imperial Herald has fallen to the ground it is not because of me but because of you. Did the Count Harad turn you into vampires?”
“We volunteered. Why should we be loyal to a dead emperor when we can enjoy eternal life and fame?”
“Besides Aragasa is rotten. She has lost her original sense of purpose and now lives only for the benefit of the Five Great Families and the Senate.”
“I don’t deny that Aragasa is rotten but I don’t think that’s why they’re clinging to the Count. Even so if you’re the Emperor’s messenger the children of Aragasa would admire you. But what are you now? Aren’t you just a snail thrown to the bottom of the garden pond to eat the moss? What kind of fame and fortune are you enjoying by sticking to the bottom of this bathhouse?”
“This kid!”
The former messengers were furious at Azadin for mocking their situation and fired arrows again. However Azadin lightly reached out and struck the middle of the arrow with his high wrist bone.
If you try to catch them they will be slippery because of the blood but there is no problem in striking them away. Azadin extended his wrists as he struck the arrows with his high fist.
-Shhh….
The knives that the previous messengers had thrown a moment ago were now in Azadin’s hand and they were flying through the air.
“Whoa!”
“quite!”
The former messengers avoided Azadin’s attacks and were amazed.
-twilight!
The bodies of the previous messengers become blurred and approach Azadin.
‘Tch. You can’t use a Kajas… in a place where water is up to your knees.’
Azadin’s Twilight was a real moving body so unlike the Twilights of other illusionist messenger clans it could not move in water.
“Haat!”
The former messengers appeared on Azadin’s left and right and launched consecutive attacks. At that moment Azadin also counterattacked.
-Boom!
A pillar of water or rather a pillar of blood shot up and the two former messengers were thrown out of the water and rolled around.
“uh?!”
“What the heck is going on…”
The messengers were terrified by the unexpected turn of events. They boasted that they had surrounded Azadin and launched an attack but his body seemed to be filled with electric energy.
The moment they made contact a terrible trembling and shock seeped into their bodies. Taking advantage of the gap Azadin counterattacked with his fist and sword stabbing the former messenger who had approached from the right with his sword and stabbing the former messenger who had approached from the left with his fist.
-‘The wind and moon of flowers and birds thunder and clouds Kazas!’
Originally it was a magic that charged up the magical power of electricity and sent it to the opponent upon contact shocking them but Azadin rolled on the ground and instantly triggered a shock pouring out his energy on the person he made contact with. They were both hit by just one blow but they were both bounced off and suffered a miserable defeat.
“Ah I guess it’s us.”
“You seem to have become much more numb since you stopped feeling pain. To see Azadin the fool of the clan suffer such a defeat.”
They denied the reality unfolding before their eyes. Azadin’s helplessness and incompetence were well known to them as former messengers.
Azadin is the clan’s celebrity. They couldn’t accept that they had been knocked out in one room by him who was known for his incompetence.
“No at this point it’s obvious that you have the same level of skill you pathetic bastards. So you should just live off of moss under the Count’s bathtub.”
Azadin couldn’t help but say something to Harad and Kebna who were still denying reality.
“I appreciate your letting your guard down. If you continue to deny reality like that it will be easy for me. However even if you were defeated by the Count and became his monsters weren’t you the messengers that all of your clan looked up to with pride? When I defeat you I want to tell your families that you fought well to the end so give it your all. Don’t keep denying reality!”
Harad and Kevna were startled when they heard Azadin’s words.
“Azadin.”
“You are right. I apologize for my rudeness so far.”
Harad and Kevna who had been absent-mindedly absent-minded until just now focused their minds.
