“But if you think about it the things that Azadin defeated weren’t that great were they?”
“If it’s the Atra clan or Prince Kozel we can take them down. If it’s Aragasa that much is a given.”
“That’s true. If we’re Aragasa we should be able to do that much. But did the Azadin you remember really have the skills of our clan? No did he not?”
“….”
“So to speak the current Azadin has made great strides in development. It is impossible to estimate the extent of its growth so isn’t it foolish to judge it based on information from 10 years ago?”
“I see. But even so isn’t that too much of a stretch?”
“There’s nothing wrong with protecting yourself. You can fight other guys so why bother stepping out and shedding blood?”
Derek said and smiled.
“Then shall we go to the Count now?”
“yes?”
“The Count is desperately looking for a copy of the New King’s Book so you should spread the word to Azadin that he has it.”
“ah.”
“It’s a murder case. But do you think the Count will believe that rumor?”
“We need to make it believable. Since the Mezeri cult’s den was discovered yesterday we can tell them that there was a copy of the New King’s Book there and that Azadin obtained it and then we can receive a reward.”
Derek said this without thinking trying to fabricate a rumor… but it was so close to the truth. However Derek’s subordinates who did not know this fact were amazed.
“As expected from a former messenger. The stories are intertwined like that.”
“The Count who is already obsessed with suspicion will believe me. But are you demanding compensation?”
“We are merchants of the Corasar Peddler Guild. If a merchant asks for information it is natural that he should be paid. In this case if he does not ask for money that is a bigger problem.”
“I see. If we ask for money it will make the information we give seem credible.”
“Okay. Then shall we go and leak information to the Count? If Azadin survives this time….”
“Hey how could that be?”
“He’s an incompetent person who can’t even use magic.”
“Hmm. Then I might get resented by Arael. I don’t like that. I’d like to get moderately injured and become a cripple.”
Derek smiled as he pictured a convenient future for himself.

Azadin sent Derek and his party away and went back to sleep. He was so tired that he fell into a deep sleep just by lying down on the bed.
So I opened my eyes after the sun had set and even though I had slept pretty well my muscle pain still wasn’t getting better. I had worked so hard that it wouldn’t get better in a day.
“Um should we start investigating the Count’s castle?”
Since it has been confirmed that a copy of the New King’s Letter is in the Count’s castle I should start thinking of a way to invade.
Azadin lightly packed his gear and prepared to go out. But as he was leaving the room he ran into Tarki.
“Oh brother.”
“why?”
“They say Kozel has returned here to Salasma.”
“Kozel?”
“Yes. They say he was transported in a carriage blinded castrated and sick.”
“okay.”
“The ones who were transferred are the Korasarr Bobusang Guild.”
“….”
Azadin clicked his tongue when he heard the name.
“Oh no. I have to get out of here.”
“Yes? But your mother insisted that you stay here.”
“Because you’ll be a burden to your mother.”
“But what did you talk about with your mother during the day Azadin?”
“That was… just an afterthought of what happened yesterday.”
“Are you saying congratulations?”
I couldn’t tell the truth.
‘Your mother proposed to me.’
Even if Tarki was a bastard son of a nobleman who had been tormenting the people and was not worthy of respect it was not something that could be said openly to their faces.
“Well it was very beneficial for me to receive five gold coins from the Emperor before using them. Later will you tell your mother that she never needs to think of any favors or anything like that?”
“He would be happier if I told him directly.”
“Then I’m in trouble.”
“Yes? Why?”
“It’s not good for a beautiful lady like your mother to have another man become emotionally involved with her.”
“Pfft. Why are you worried about that hyung?”
“That’s true.”
Azadin went into the next room and called Midiam and Ismail.
“Yes? Why?”
“I have to leave here. Pack your bags.”
“Oh yes. That’s too bad. I thought I could take a bath and rest comfortably in a proper bed.”
Medium felt sorry but started packing without saying a word.

Prince Cozel who was born to the first wife was able to return safely without dying thanks to his knight Sir Zibek.

He plundered property and committed atrocities as he pleased but he lost his men lost his eyes and reproductive organs and became a cripple. However he was not retaliated against by others because Jibek protected him wholeheartedly.
But when Kozel returned Sir Zibek was punished for failing to protect Prince Kozel.
*********
Refugees were also walking around in front of the King’s Church begging.
There Lord Jibek let out a long sigh. The punishment for him had been decided. It had not been carried out yet but for now it was as good as certain.
A knight approached him. It was Lord Maya the bishop of Salasma.
“Is everything alright Lord Jibek? Rumor has it that Lord Jibek has been impeached and must become a Knight of Penitence.”
“That’s true.”
“How can that be… Didn’t Lord Jibek do his best? How could such an unfair treatment be possible?”
Maya had also been trained in swordsmanship by Lord Jibek. She knew that Jibek had an upright character excellent swordsmanship and above all excellent medical skills.
“Isn’t that Prince Kozel not well-known? It was all thanks to Lord Jibek that he survived such a serious injury without his wounds becoming infected….”
“The countess the mother of Prince Kozel must be feeling uneasy. If she loses her ability to conceive she will be completely eliminated from the line of succession.”
The wife of the Count of Salasma is the daughter of Count Lantaric and is a high-ranking noblewoman from a territory adjacent to Salasma. Since a noblewoman from a place with greater economic power than Salasma has entered into a political marriage with Count Kazel the relationship between the couple cannot be said to be good even in vain.
The only child between them was Prince Cozel. After that the count played around with his concubines and the countess also had lovers and had illegitimate children separately.
However since Kozel who was born from a relationship with the count was castrated she lost her right to inherit and the meaning of the political marriage faded. If the two of them were good together they could have a new child and make him the legitimate successor with the right to inherit but unfortunately the two of them were too far apart to have another child now.
“Perhaps the only options left for the Countess are to divorce and remarry or….”
Sir Jibek closed his mouth after saying that. This was something he should not say as a knight.
“You’re going to assassinate your husband and take over as regent?”
Chief Inspector Maya took the words that Lord Jibek had swallowed.
“Then what will the bishop do?”
The countess demanded that Lord Zibek be impeached and punished. However Lord Zibek was not the count’s vassal but a knight of the king’s church. The authority to appoint him was in the king’s church so it was up to the bishops or the captains of the knights to manage him.
If Bishop Salasma rejects the impeachment motion Lord Zibek can remain in office without punishment. However…
“The bishop accepted the impeachment and sent Lord Zibek on a penitential journey.”
“I see.”
From the perspective of the King’s Church it would have been impossible to ignore the request of the Countess the daughter of Count Lantaric.
“Well that’s good. Aren’t the ogre tribes coming from across the desert spine? It wouldn’t be a bad idea to become a penitent and join the fight against them.”
“But it’s dangerous. Are you okay with it?”
“If the knights avoid dangerous situations who will take risks? Oh but Chief Maya.”
“yes.”
“Do you know anything about the messenger clan?”
“You mean the Herald Clan? Those damned soulless ones?”
“….”
“Why them?”
“No it’s nothing. Hmm?”
While talking to Maya in front of the church Lord Jibek noticed a group of armed men moving through the crowd. They appeared to be vagrants wearing ill-fitting armor.
“What’s going on?”
Sir Jibek approached them.
“Are you Lord Jibek?”
“Isn’t that Beldon?”
Beldon was the younger brother of Prince Cozel and the son of his wet nurse. Although he was one of Prince Cozel’s most trusted confidants he was overweight and unsuited for the adventure of exploring the manuscript of the New King’s Book so he remained in Salasma.
But he’s hiring scoundrels?
“Welcome Lord Jibek. Actually Prince Kozel ordered me to hire mercenaries and adventurers.”
“A mercenary or an adventurer? For what purpose?”
“Prince Kozel said that he couldn’t stand seeing Tarki become the head of the household even if he didn’t know about anyone else…”
“what?”
“That’s why I’m trying to attack Tarkhi.”
“Are you out of your mind? You’re going to attack Baroness Nort’s private residence?”
“I tried to stop you too. But phew you are completely out of your mind right now. How could I stop you? Even the Countess hates Baroness Nort so much…”
The Countess had a pale appearance and a fierce personality so those who knew her used to call her Harpy. Of course they called her Harpy out of her ear but if they had called her Harpy out of her ear she would have literally fallen into the harpy den.
On the other hand Baroness Nort is a very beautiful woman and has noble conduct so she is much admired by many. Although her son Tarki is a fool the Baroness’ reputation is very good.
So the Countess who was usually very jealous was furious when her own child was castrated and this fueled her son’s madness.
These facts are criminal but Beldon said them without hesitation. He seemed to be on the verge of going crazy because he wanted to vent to someone.
“Can you say that in front of me?”
“Actually I’m scared too.”
Beldon made an awkward expression. He did what he was told to do but in reality Kozel had now completely withdrawn from the line of succession. The only thing waiting for Kozel in the future is to become a knight of the King’s Church or the Knights Templar. After all someone who has lost the ability to reproduce can never become the head of the family.
“Are you asking me to stop it?”
Lord Jibek asked Seodong Beldon’s intentions clearly.
