Night of the Soulless Heathens – 56

#56. Darkness of Salasma 4
Anyone who saw it saw that the building was suspicious. Even if the Rescue Knights were not using the building anymore if it had turned into a den of War Rats it must have something to do with it.
Looking at the current situation in Salasma each building is a pity. Even if it doesn’t rain it can provide a space for the weak and physically disabled among the refugees to escape the wind and dew and it can also be used as a cooking facility for those who need relief and as a hospital bed for the sick.
In that situation there was no reason to leave a building idle… All indicators were indicating that there was a Kurt cult within the Rescue Knights.
“Let’s shave.”
Azadin said so with great regret.
*********
The wooden building of the Rescue Knights next to the riverbank looks shabby on the outside but it was originally a wine cellar that was renovated and a huge warehouse was created by digging into the ground and walls.
A young man was approaching the entrance to the wooden building tapping his cane against the floor.
“You must not come in.”
“This place is under the control of our rescue team. It’s dangerous inside.”
As the young man approached the entrance men wearing surcoats bearing the emblem of the Order of the Rescue came out and stopped him. At first they were too nervous to stop him but to their surprise the young man was blind. A large scar splitting both eyes horizontally was on his face.
“ah….”
“I see you’re feeling unwell.”
The knights of the Salvation Order relaxed their guard when they confirmed that he was blind.
“What’s going on?”
“Actually someone told me to pass this on to you from where the old waterway used to be.”
As he spoke the young man took out something and handed it to the knights. It was the mark of Mezeri engraved on human skin. It was a hideous claw pattern carved with human blood and needles.
“I brought it because they said they would give me food if I called someone to help me…”
The young man waited secretly expecting a reward. Then the knights of the Salvation Knights looked perplexed.
“This… from that old waterway?”
“Yes. I couldn’t go inside because it was surrounded by iron bars but someone called me from inside and gave me this and said that if I brought it here I would be rewarded. He said there was a lot of cleaning to do inside and he was looking for someone to help.”
“Is that all? Didn’t they tell you something like a password?”
“A password? Hmm I think I heard something but I can’t quite remember.”
“….”
The knights of the Salvation Order looked at each other’s faces.

“Wait a minute. How much help did you need?”
“I heard that at least ten people should come.”
“At least ten? Is that a lot?”
“yes.”
They opened the entrance to the wooden building.
“But we don’t have enough relief supplies right now…”
“If you don’t mind would you please come inside? Please wait while I bring in the supplies.”
A mean expression appeared on the faces of the knights of the Salvation Order who spoke like that.
“Huh? Oh inside?”
“Yes. Please wait inside for a moment and we will bring some relief supplies.”
“All right.”
The blind young man carefully followed the guidance of the rescue team and walked inside using his cane to support himself on the floor.
There were many people inside the abandoned building.
“What? I told you not to let people in. It’s broad daylight.”
“Oh this guy’s eyes are not working. And besides… he came here because he was asked to by the underground waterway or something.”
“I’m going to distribute relief supplies.”
“Yeah. Special relief supplies. Hehe.”
A paladin from the Order of the Rescue made a mocking gesture behind the blind youth and spoke.
“Ah relief supplies. You mean relief supplies?”
“If not we’ll have fresh meat soon. Hehe.”
They were mocking the blind young man. The blind young man coming in with a cane looked around in fear.
The entrance to the building is like a hall and people are standing on the second floor railing so from the blind person’s perspective voices of people can be heard from all directions.
“There are quite a few people here. Are they members of the Rescue Knights?”
“Oh yes. They are our partners.”
“But I think I can hear groans… Are there any injured people?”
“Yes we are the Rescue Knights. Isn’t it our mission to heal the wounded and the sick?”
They were laughing as they spoke. Those inside were by no means the wounded or the sick. That was when.
“wait for a sec.”
One of those sitting on the second floor railing stood up.
“Ah Mr. Curven.”
“Hey you guys you brought me here. Turn your face this way.”
“yes?”
“It’s because I think he’s someone I knew.”
“….”
The blind young man grabbed his cane in confusion.
“Yeah. You. Um… Are you Azadin?”
“ah!”

At that moment the knight of the rescue order who brought the blind youth tried to draw his sword. However the blind youth was faster. He immediately struck the knight’s head with his staff bent down and drew the knight’s sword.
“You bastard!”
“Azadin!”
*********
The blind youth’s true identity was Azadin disguised as a pilgrim. If he disguised himself everyone would let their guard down. So Azadin took the symbol of Mezeri that he had obtained by killing the Wear Rat and pretended not to know about it and planned to summon the enemies and defeat them one by one.
Send the ten Wear Rat guys into the underground passage.
If we could divide the enemies by delivering such a message we could defeat them individually. But who would have thought that the messenger clan’s motives were among them!
“Hey! Get out of the way!”
At that moment Curven flew away and landed on the first floor.
“You’ve grown a lot Azadin! I heard you became a messenger but I never thought you’d come here.”
“So you are the one who has become a Mezeri cultist? You are a disgrace to your clan.”
“Huh. What did the Emperor do for us besides putting a curse on us? Thanks to Mejeri’s blessing I am completely free from that curse. Now I can commit as much as I want and eat as much as I want!”
Curven smirked and stood in front of Azadin with his claws in both hands.
“Remember when you were a kid? When you crawled under my crotch? Hey! Everyone’s watching! I’ll take care of this guy!”
Judging from the way Curven spoke he seemed to have a fairly high status among them.
Although he is neither a messenger nor a servant he is a person who received systematic education and training during the messenger selection process. It is clear that he is a skilled person who cannot be compared to those who later become swordsmen.
“So? You betrayed your clan by committing the crime when you wanted to and eating the crime when you wanted to eat? Your desires are completely one-dimensional. What a pathetic guy.”
“Shut up Azadin!”
Curven swung his claw and attacked. Azadin responded by swinging the sword he had taken from the paladin. However Curven simply blocked it by wedging the sword between Curven’s claws.
“You pathetic bastard! You call yourself a messenger with only this level of skill!”
And then he twists it to try to take the sword away but it doesn’t budge.
“uh?!”
Curven was momentarily taken aback. He had already possessed incredible strength compared to the Hybris. Furthermore his strength which had grown even stronger after becoming a Wear Rat would be of no use to Azadin whom he had played with as a child?
Azadin grabbed Curven’s wrist.
-‘The flowers birds wind and moon are shining brightly Kazas!’
Azadin’s body dug under the kurven and struck him down with a thud.
Originally the Blue Sun Song was a magic that turned the opponent around and made them fall to the ground but with Kazas it was used to directly slam them into the ground. The problem was that this slam was incredibly fast and powerful…
-Wood thud!
As he grabs the opponent’s arm and uses it as a lever by crossing it the crossed arm breaks at that moment. Curven flies into the sky with his weapon still in hand and then crashes down onto the ground.
The surprised Curven turned his body and tried to land by stamping his feet on the ground but Azadin’s throw had such an enormous angular velocity and its angle changed that one of his two feet fell to the side first.
-Snap!
Curven’s ankle was literally broken.
“Ugh!”
A refreshing throw that breaks both arms and ankles at the same time! This is Azadin’s Hwajopungwol Cheongilsong.
“You son of a bitch! What the hell is this?”
Curven tried to counter Azadin by swinging his claw but Azadin’s sword was firmly entangled in his claw making it impossible for him to do anything.
“One more time?”
Azadin again performed ‘Qingyil Song’ by ‘Kazash Haseo’. This time Curven who had a broken leg was unable to even imitate the falling technique and was stuck as it was.
“Ugh!”
Even though he had fallen to the ground he couldn’t get up easily. Azadin had thrown him away while blocking his claws with his sword and was pressing the sword against his neck again.
“Damn it! What the hell are you guys doing! Are you watching?! Deal with this guy!”
Curven fled the attack throwing away his claws which had become twisted and useless in the melee with Azadin. The other paladins and onlookers rushed in immediately.
They all attack Azadin with red madness shining from their eyes. Some of them have already transformed into were rats and are attacking Azadin.
“Come in!”
Azadin swung his sword horizontally and struck the head of the first attacker in one stroke.
-Snap!
The head of the Ware Rat was cut off and the blade was shattered into pieces. The blade often goes out when beheading someone who is tied up in a frame and cannot move so it is a natural result when cutting down a lively moving person with a single stroke.
“….”
“Keeeek!”
However the effect of that blow was certain. Not even the Were Rats wanted to die. Those who saw Azadin cut off a person’s head with a single stroke could not approach him recklessly and could only hesitate.
“Hey! That kid’s weapon is gone! It’s okay! Attack!”
Curven urged the Wear Rats on but they still noted that the sword still held its shape. However it would surely break in the next blow.
The situation where Azadin’s sword cracked. In addition Azadin did not have a sword because he was acting as a blind pilgrim. In other words he had no additional weapons. He had no weapons other than the weapons he had taken from the Wear Rats disguised as paladins. However even if it was a cracked iron sword the Wear Rats did not want to receive it with their own bodies.
‘No matter how much regenerative power it has…’
‘If the neck is cut off the pain will only increase…’
‘This kid’s swordsmanship is no joke.’
The swordsmanship that Azadin had shown just a moment ago was nothing short of miraculous. The lightning-quick swordsmanship surpassed the Ware Rat’s reflexes and severed its cervical vertebrae. Watching the Ware Rat’s decapitated body twitch and convulse before gradually cooling down made me lose my motivation even more.
Are you telling me to jump in just because I have a gold weapon?
It’s an absolute must.
