Night of the Soulless Heathens – 513
by Jessie@AFNCC
#514. Night of the Soulless Unbeliever 25
[Your body has already reached its limit. The death of the body is fleeting but your soul is immortal.]
“I don’t like that.”
A halo of radiance began to glow once again above Azadin’s head.
The heat wave of brilliance was unleashed once again.
But this time the heat wave is not targeting cracks.
It was shot into the roots of the quartz throne deeper than the crack.
The quartz throne glows like a lump of iron in a furnace.
[what!]
[Stop it! If you destroy this it will be difficult for Yaegasu’s protection to reach this land!]
[Are you saying that you don’t need Yaegasu’s protection?!]
The spirits of Yaegasu were confused.
“No need!”
As the radiance radiating from Azadin heats up the Quartz Throne cracks begin to appear on the throne.
The entire quartz throne was glowing and pulsating.
[Stop now! You cannot handle this world without our protection! Fimbulbert is not over yet!]
“At least we can separate it from the Nether realm. We can end Fimbulbert by moving it slightly further away from the Nether realm.”
Azadin dismissed the warnings of the spirits of Yaegas.
Jecht placed a curse on the Quartz Throne facilitating the connection between the continent of Hybris and the Nether Dimension.
In other words the current Quartz Throne is a passage connecting to the world of Yaegas spirits and also a passage connecting to the Nether dimension.
Destroying the Quartz Throne itself will prevent you from receiving Yaegas’s protection but it will also distance you from the Nether Reaper.
[You are asking for great trouble because you want to live longer than you already have! No matter how much you are persecuted by the descendants of Yaegasu you refuse to sacrifice yourself for them!]
“If you say it like that I can reject it a hundred or a thousand times. But that’s not why I’m rejecting it!”
Azadin increased the output of his radiance and began to cut off the roots of the quartz throne.
The spirits of Yaegas were perplexed by Azadin’s actions but surprisingly some of them sympathized with Azadin.
[If that’s your choice fine. Everyone will agree.]

[Humans choose we just lead.]
[But if things had gone well with the power of cultivation the world wouldn’t have ended up like this.]
[Wouldn’t things be better now? The Emperor of the New Testament has been born. He will be the signpost that shows humanity a new path.]
[But we wanted to be with mortals a little longer. Their passion their limitations all of it was fun.]
Listening to the confused voices of the Yaegas spirits Azadin further increased the output of his brilliance.
The roots of the Quartz Throne were broken and all eight thrones of Yaegasu were broken.
At the same time Azadin’s consciousness returned to reality.
********
“your majesty!”
“Your Majesty are you okay?”
Azadin opened his eyes to the voice calling him.
The Telvarin elves were giving artificial respiration to Azadin.
Azadin opened his eyes in surprise and looked around to see that the throne was covered in blood.
“Oh Your Majesty!”
“You’re awake!”
The mouths of the Telvarin elves were stained with blood.
They sucked out Azadin’s prayers and the blood that filled his lungs.
“Oh okay.”
Azadin sighed and licked his lips. The smell of blood lingered in his lungs not his mouth.
It was a situation where he would have drowned in his own blood if the elves had not administered first aid.
“Cluck cluck.”
Azadin looked at the Telvarin elves as he sneezed.
‘Is it because of the contract of service? We were enemies just a moment ago but now that I’m in danger of death you’re saving me.’
Azadin felt complicated as he watched the elves try to save him instead of killing him when he was helpless.
They are really bad guys when you think about the things they’ve done but strangely they are very loyal and dedicated.
Individuals are willing to devote themselves to the organization’s goals and once the direction of loyalty is determined they are quite faithful in their loyalty.
They are the perfect subordinates to deceive those in power.
You may think that you are ordering around your subordinates but when you come to your senses you may find yourself in a situation where you are being controlled by those in power.
‘They are dangerous guys. That’s why the people in power didn’t come to their senses and let it slide. We have to be careful but we should at least praise them for doing a good job right?’
Azadin decided to praise the Telvarin elves while remaining wary of them.
“Thank you. You did a good job.”
“That’s too much praise. It was something I had to do.”
“I wish I had done the same thing to others as I should have done. By the way….”
When Azadin examined the throne of Bthuma he saw that the quartz throne was cracked.
I woke up just in case and at that moment it broke into pieces and scattered.
Surprisingly the moment these broken fragments hit the ground they become translucent and the fragments seep into the ground and disappear.
“This can’t be happening. The throne….”

The Telvarin elves all prostrated themselves before Azadin trembling.
Yaegasu’s throne was shattered.
It was a truly unholy and terrifying scene but something even more amazing was happening.
Behind Azadin’s head the eastern sky was brightening to a gray color.
The night that would last forever was ending and morning was approaching.
The unholy night ends and the dawn of humanity dawns.
The unholy sight of the throne breaking and yet the moment of sunrise marking the end of the long night.
The moment they saw the Emperor greeting the light of dawn the Telvarin elves shouted “Long Live” without anyone saying anything first.
“Long live His Majesty the Emperor!”
“Viva!”
Azadin scratched his cheek but to them Azadin was no different from a great emperor a sage god who brought an end to the unholy night and brought about the dawn.
‘I don’t think there’s any need to correct their misunderstanding.’
After a long night dawn finally came.
********
The night was ending and dawn was beginning to break.
Fimbulbert has finally ended and the Nether forces that once seemed destined to overthrow the world have been annihilated.
The corpses of the giants and monsters fell all over the place becoming food for wild beasts and monsters.
Although the cold was still raging people felt relieved at the thought that the sun had risen and the monsters had retreated.
But an unexpected problem occurred and the angel statues and ceramites were all destroyed at once.
The bodies of the angels who fought against the Nether forces until their strength was exhausted and they fell were turned into stone statues and placed in the underground sanctuary of St. Mallory.
In the past the corrupted Wisdom Sect blasphemously desecrated the statue of an angel and made the Ceramite and Celestial Fire Knights using the blood of the angel.
The angel statue could still be said to be a powerful source of divine power.
But the angel statue disappeared along with the ceramite weapons.
Not only that the Yaegasu throne was also completely destroyed.
The royal church which serves the lineage of Yaegasu was perplexed by this surprising event.
This was because the throne had disappeared and the Yaegasu bloodline no longer gave the power of white magic.
‘This is the work of the Emperor of the New Testament!’
I think so but there is no clear evidence.
The only ones who saw Azadin sit on the throne and see it destroyed were the Telvarin elves and they had signed a contract to serve the Emperor and become his confidants so they had no reason to testify against the Emperor.
Of course the Nagas and the followers of Kurt Pantheon secretly tipped me off but their testimony cannot be used as evidence.
Wouldn’t this just be evidence that they are in collusion with cultists?
Moreover criticizing Azadin the Emperor of the New Testament who had now ended Fimbulbert was tantamount to suicide.
Emperor Azadin who ended Fimbulbert and restored the sun has absolute popularity and trust in his position so no one can challenge him.
And if the emperor abolished the throne why did the angel statue disappear?
Everyone knows that the Emperor prefers the Knights Templar to the King’s Church so why would he have to destroy the statue of the Angel?
Ultimately the disappearance of the Angel Statue and the Yaegas Throne was seen as a natural phenomenon resulting from the shock of Fimbulbert.
********
With Emperor Azadin’s end to Fimbulbert the status of the Heralds changed completely.
The Herald Clan once considered soulless blasphemous murderous and horrific monsters have now shed their former stigma and are recognized as the Emperor’s blood relatives.
‘Emperor Yaeslat and the leader of the Herald Clan Harkonia fell in love and their blood flowed into the Herald Clan and the current Herald Clan is the descendant of the Yaegas God Clan.’
In the past even if it were true it would have been condemned as blasphemy but now it has become established truth.
The Herald Clan were not incomprehensible foreigners but descendants of the noble imperial bloodline. That was why Azadin could once again become emperor.
That kind of perception has become ingrained.
Although the teachings of the New Testament School of Cultivation as presented by Azadin were to devote oneself to virtue and cultivate high self-cultivation regardless of birth or lineage people still liked to follow bloodlines.
“This is true. The clan’s wish has come true.”
The Senate of the Herald Clan was in a difficult position as they held a meeting.
“His Majesty Emperor Azadin was the one we persecuted.”
“But in reality it was impossible not to persecute us right? They interfered with our work and even attacked us in cooperation with the Arael tribe. Do you know how many of us were killed by the two siblings Arael and Azadin?”
“But in the end Your Majesty the Emperor was right. Our wish was fulfilled by Your Majesty the Emperor and what we did to fulfill our wish would have been a public enemy to mankind if it were to be revealed publicly.”
The Herald Clan joined hands with the Nagas and betrayed humanity.
It was an unchanging fact.
“Are we like the Telvarin elves once again subject to the curse of service?”
“There is no need for that. Unlike those elves His Majesty has not made it public that we have betrayed humanity.”
“But isn’t that relying on Your Majesty’s mercy? What will you do if Your Majesty brings that up at any time?”
“Then what are you going to do? To silence His Majesty?”
“….”
The elders of the messenger clan kept their mouths shut.
Now they dare not stand against Azadin.
“So please give it to me. Your Majesty needs a lot of money and manpower to rebuild the world.”
Sion Ethar as an Ethar bloodline that assisted Emperor Azadin encouraged the Senate to give up its own property.
“Zion Etar is that your Majesty’s will?”
“No it’s just that it’s the natural order of things.”
Zion Etar was completely silent.
Since the Ethar clan was close to Azadin and even the empress was a member of the Ethar clan all the other clans of the Herald clan were keeping an eye on the Ethar clan.
“First let us return the Sunwoo Sun that we took to His Majesty. His Majesty says that it is needed for farming research here and there. Also let us release the goods from the trading company that our blood relatives have to stabilize prices and let us hunt monsters and wild beasts along the way to stabilize public order.”
“That seems too presumptuous. Aren’t you speaking too much for the Emperor’s wife?”
“But what can I do? I have sinned. And besides Your Majesty will repay me for it all.”
“Even if you call it a favor it’s nothing more than giving me some land here in the Kerim Mountains.”
“No that’s not it. Hmm.”
Zion Etar hesitated wondering whether he should say this or not and then spoke.
“Actually His Majesty offered me a position.”
“What position? Count Kerim?”
The Kerim region is already a mountainous area occupied by the Herald Clan. If the Herald Clan grants the title of Count to the land they already rule it will only be an honorary position with no real benefits.
But Zion Etar shook his head.
“No. I am King Corasar.”
“!!!!!”
Azadin offered the position originally promised to Jecht to Sion Etar.
When the messengers heard that they were all surprised and clicked their tongues.
‘Oh my these Etar bloodline bastards hit the jackpot by inserting an empress at the last minute.’
‘That’s ridiculous! You’re giving me the throne?’
All the elders of the Senate were in a state of confusion.
“Wait a minute. So Sion Etar you are the king?”
“Yes. And the vassal lords under his command will likely be members of the Northern Aragasa.”
From Azadin’s point of view a force that could check the Northern Qi Cohen was needed.
It is controlled by Sion Etar who gave appropriate land and positions of power to the Northern Aragatha who betrayed the Northern Qi Cohen and turned their backs and entered into a political marriage with them.
Sion Ethar is the head of the Ethar clan and a member of the royal family. He is also recognized by his group through a political marriage with the northern Aragatha. It is for this reason that Azadin gave Sion Ethar the throne.
“Wow the throne.”
“That’s true…..”
“It’s not all good. Korasarr is in ruins and it’ll be quite difficult to rebuild. So what will you do? Won’t you help me rebuild Korasarr?”
“Of course. King Sion Etar.”
“We have only persecuted and tormented Your Majesty since we were young but Your Majesty has forgotten the past and has bestowed upon us such great grace. We are so grateful.”
“It’s truly embarrassing.”
In fact the ones who benefit are the Emperor’s relatives the Etar bloodline but the Heralds are amazed by Azadin’s generous favor.
‘Even if you only take care of your relatives what’s the big deal? I’m grateful that you don’t beat them all up just to get revenge for your childhood.’
‘Now we too are a clan that has produced kings and emperors. We don’t have to hear any talk about soulless blasphemers or anything like that.’
‘The Etar clan won’t be able to run the country alone anyway. They won’t be able to hold out without giving us a place.’
In this way the heralds were delighted with the emperor’s grace and decided to give everything they had to rebuild Korasaar.
