#511. Night of the Soulless Unbeliever 22

“Um no just a little. It’s okay. It doesn’t hurt at all.”

    “You’re not sick…”

Azadin’s body was already in such a state of ruin that it was being maintained with divine magic.

As Zect’s power drained from the wound the insects that had been supporting Zect’s body burned away and Azadin’s body quickly recovered.

    “Jibek you?”

Even though his head was cut off Jecht who had recovered opened his eyes blearily and doubted his own eyes.

It was Jecht and the dwarf grenadiers along with Niselda and the nuns of the Order of Mercy who had come to visit.

They cleared out the approaching retinue with mana bombs and surrounded Jecht.

“Sir Jecht. You are no match for His Majesty. I will deal with you.”

Jibek approached Jecht again with his sword.

I thought he was within touching distance if I just took one more step but he suddenly moved like flowing water and cut down Jecht in an instant.

The swordsmanship that Jecht taught is cast upon Jecht.

    “Ugh!”

Even if hit Jett would not die but would repeatedly divide and combine shooting out sharp poisonous needles.

But Jibek easily blocked the attack with his armor and sword.

While his master Jecht uses the monster’s technique his disciple Jebeck unleashes the essence of dense and concise swordsmanship and overwhelms Jecht.

    “Ugh! Stop….”

“People like you get anxious when they are tied down by someone you consider to be of a lower class than you. It’s always been like that. You’re a petty insignificant person who only feels satisfied when you take advantage of other people’s light!”

Jibek shouted as he attacked Jecht repeatedly.

“The most fitting punishment for you is for me to be the one to end you! Not as the enemy of a great emperor who will forever be remembered in history but as a fallen knight who fell at the hands of his disciple. That is the name that will be most fitting for your tombstone!”

Jibek’s words struck Jecht’s heart with their sincerity.

If he could fight and die against Emperor Azadin Jecht would be satisfied.

If he could draw out the full power of Emperor Azadin’s divine magic and inflict a great psychological damage on him Jecht would be proud and proud of having proven his existence.

    But what about Jibek?

    It’s unbearable.

The problem was that Zibek was also Zect’s disciple so he knew Zect’s inner thoughts better than Zect himself.

“Jibek! How dare someone as insignificant as you!”

“Ah you are revealing your true nature Master! But I have a duty to face you! Because I was intimidated by you I had to kill my heart and live a cowardly life! Although I was able to throw off that shackle when I met Your Majesty the Emperor the fact that I am a cowardly and miserable being will forever weigh on me! Unless I break you with my own hands!”

Jecht took out his sword. Jecht took a sword stance looking strange with his entire body not fully restored with a few bones a few tendons and golden armor hanging loosely. Despite this he felt a great sense of swordsmanship.

However when Jebeck’s swords were entangled with Jebeck’s swords Jebeck was surprisingly overwhelmed. Jebeck’s physical condition was not good and Jebeck’s enthusiasm was unusual.

His pure will to subdue the Jecht before his eyes even if it means burning his entire soul adds sharpness to his sword.

It was fundamentally in the same vein as Zect putting all his effort into sabotaging Azadin in some way.

Just as Jecht had tried to steal Azadin’s light and make it his own Jebeck was also trying to subdue Jecht by any means necessary to break free of the fear and sense of defeat he had felt in the past.

As Zect once said Zect and Zect looked alike.

    *********

Before meeting Azadin Zibek was a coward who could only passively help a dying girl in the wilderness.

    Because I lack skills?

    no.

He was simply afraid of the implicit order and implicit violence of the world he lived in.

And the one who instilled this implicit order and violence was none other than Jecht who was Jebeck’s teacher.

Bowing to the dark customs of the Knights rather than the righteousness of one’s own heart….

He ordered them to follow only the bloodline of the new king rather than the light of the royal flower and to turn a blind eye to the exploitation of the weak right before their eyes and the trampling of the chastity of girls in despicable ways.

Even after meeting Azadin and becoming his vassal and being able to break free from the unspoken order of the King’s Church and the Yaegas royal family Zibek still suffered from the pain of his past where he had lived a timid and timid life due to his own cowardice.

So Zectman wanted to somehow cut it off with his own hands.

“Okay I’ll leave it to you.”

Azadin turned his back and left Jecht in the care of Zibek.

    “No! Emperor! Why…!”

Jecht was confused as he saw Azadin ignoring him and trying to leave but Jebeck’s sword blocked his path.

By giving his all to crush Jecht’s wishes Jecht was trying to compensate for the countless mistakes he had made out of fear of Jecht.

It is a fitting end for one who can only confirm himself by taking away the light-opening achievements of others.

“You reap what you sow. Congratulations Lord Jecht.”

Azadin left Jecht in the care of Zebeck.

And as lightning shook the heavens and the earth Azadin’s figure disappeared from their sight.

    *********

Azadin had arrived at the royal castle of Bthuma.

The castle of Bthuma was filled with Nether’s servants and Nether’s servants could be seen hanging from all the magnificent structures such as the buildings bell towers ditches piers etc.

It was a reborn supernatural space where human structures and alien beings were mixed together.

    “What? All of a sudden.”

I was called into the middle of enemy territory. Was it because of that Nether lightning?

I have seen the barrier between reality and the Nether dimension weaken and the Nether’s minions and monsters appear whenever the Nether lightning flashes but I never thought that it could single-handedly tear Azadin apart from his allies like this.

If this were possible we could have isolated Azadin a long time ago and achieved victory.

Was it because he didn’t want to win like this that he didn’t use it? Or was it because he couldn’t do it like this?

Azadin stepped forward holding his ceramite longsword and preparing for the Nether’s retinue.

The Nether Clan’s head which met his eyes was shaped like the ovary of a lotus flower with countless holes and seed chambers. The Nether Clan saluted Azadin as soon as they saw him.

    And that’s not all.

The Nether Clan made up of tentacles also bows their tentacles to show respect and steps back from the path.

Even the Wendigo a yeti with a savage appearance crouched down with both hands respectfully placed on the tips of his toes and stepped back to open the way for Azadin.

Azadin followed the path they had opened and headed towards the Bthuma royal palace.

The royal wall is visible with a damaged portrait of the Golden King Manja Zadek of Bthuma hanging there.

The picture frame made of tin was shattered by tin rot (a phenomenon in which tin alloys including tin crumble in extreme cold) due to the intense cold and the painting fell and is hanging askew.

And beneath the painting was seen the corpse of Lord Astarte.

It wasn’t just a rude abandon. Sir Astarte’s sword and spikes his standard resting on his chest and Sir Astarte’s body with the salt and burial rites complete lay there.

Although Jecht killed Lord Astarte it seems he still has some respect for him.

“Amazing Emperor. You defeated that Jecht?”

As Azadin’s mind wandered over the body of Lord Astadair a hissing voice was heard behind him.

Two of them were standing right in front of the throne with the elves.

The elves look familiar. They are Erasmaya the Master of the Telvarin Guild and her clan.

The elves who had been freely manipulating humans and had made some kind of deal with the Heralds were trembling in fear at the sight of Azadin.

And even after leaving… the person assisting Emperor Naga was someone familiar to Azadin’s eyes.

    Go out Dehares.

When Arael rebelled against the Herald Clan the Naga king who had been cooperating with Arael was assisting the Naga next to him.

“It’s been a long time Your Majesty the Emperor of Humans.”

“It’s been a while. Then the interest is….”

Judging from the fact that King Dehares is obviously careful about his conduct this Naga must be of a higher status than Dehares.

“Maharajah is the emperor of the Nagas.”

The Emperor of Naga and the Emperor of Humans met.

Although it was not a particularly formal setting the Naga Maharaja was admiring Azadin without any pretense.

“To defeat Jecht. What an incredible feat Emperor. To defeat Jecht and Nether’s minions and still have your limbs intact.”

With Azadin’s limbs intact and the ceramite longsword glowing in his hands the nagas and elves have no choice but to pay homage to him.

Of course Azadin looked fine on the outside but on the inside he was already in a very weak state.

However there is no reason to correct their misunderstanding.

“Yes. I fought and won. And it seems that the Nether clans respect my victory.”

The reason Azadin was suddenly moved here in the first place was because of the lightning from the Nether.

If he had isolated Azadin from his subordinates and intended to execute him alone there would have been no reason for Nether’s followers to bow and retreat as soon as they saw Azadin.

But the elves and the nagas would be a different story.

Azadin raised his sword and aimed it at the elves and nagas.

The Maharaja of Naga let out a long sigh as he looked at Azadin’s blade.

“In order to make a deal with Jecht we sacrificed ten thousand of our clan’s eggs. As a result Jecht became a great prophet blessed by the Nether. If even that prophet was defeated by you then there is no need to continue the war. Blessed Emperor of Angels. We wish to negotiate with you.”

“What kind of negotiation is it?”

“I want you to promise not to destroy my clan. The jungle is not suitable for humans because of its diseases and endemic diseases. In return for not interfering with the cities in the jungle I promise seven years of plenty in Btuma and seven years of plenty in the entire South Sea. After the Age of Jupiter ends you will need a lot of food right? It is not a bad deal.”

Seven years of good harvests seven years of good catches.

Wouldn’t you be a god if you could promise something like that?

As expected the power of the Nagas is beyond imagination.

“Seven years of plenty seven years of plenty. This is clearly a deal that scratches an itch. But Maharajah your actions have caused an indelible wound to humanity. The deal you are offering is good but the price of human blood cannot be replaced by material abundance alone.”

    “Then what do you want?”

“True regret and prevention of recurrence. Belief that you truly regret doing this. At least you have to give them the belief that they are beings that can coexist.”

As Azadin said this Erasmaya raised her hand.

“I may be presumptuous but let me tell you something Your Majesty. It is not a known fact that the Naga Empire was behind Lord Jecht. If we keep it a secret it will be sufficient…”

    “Shut up.”

Azadin was furious at Erasmaya’s shameless words.
