#476. Guardian of the World 2

    Azadin came in.

Everyone in the northern Aragatha had already heard of Azadin’s fame and all that he had accomplished in the south and so even if they had not expected it they were expecting a scene from a great heroic epic.

And now Azadin who had come in was meeting their expectations.

The eyes of Harconia received from Arael an attractive appearance the dignity of a king and a well-trained body.

All of this was a heroic and beautiful sight that could not help but be fascinating if it were Aragasa.

Everyone was heartbroken by the fact that such a beautiful hero was suffering from illness and dying.

    however….

“Are those gathered here the high-ranking members of Northern Aragasa? Then let me get straight to the point. I want the position of chieftain. By ruling the Kingdom of Banreung and protecting Arangi and Chitai I have proven my management skills as a king not just a simple warrior. Also I am of Aragasa bloodline so I am qualified to challenge for the position of chieftain of Aragasa.”

Azadin surprisingly challenged the position of Chieftain of the Northern Aragatha.

    “uh?”

    “hmm?”

It’s a completely different story from what they expected.

Alya the leader of the embarrassed Northern Aragasa trio asked.

“King Azadin. Excuse me I heard you are coughing up blood.”

“Yes. Why? There’s a saying that says someone who vomits blood is not fit to be a chieftain.”

“That’s not true but the Northern Emperor has been kind to us and has shown us kindness so how can we turn away from that kindness and serve someone who doesn’t have much time left? Doesn’t that make sense?”

“That’s why I’m challenging the position of chieftain. You’re not betraying the Northern Qi. You just can’t stop me from becoming chieftain. Wouldn’t that make you feel a little better?”

    “No what is that now…..”

Only then did the Northern Aragasa members realize that they were mistaken.

Azadin did not come to them out of desperation to seek their mediation.

I’m really here to get my hands on them.

But then shouldn’t we be persuading them? Should we be demonstrating our power?

“What if you refuse? Even if you are of Aragasa’s bloodline it is up to us to decide whether or not we will accept you as our chieftain.”

“Aragasa held a general meeting before coming to Hybris to decide on a chieftain. I guess we should hold a general meeting.”

“That’s why I said I don’t like it. I can’t abandon my loyalty to the Northern Qi because of you a sick person who won’t live long.”

“If you all die here? Then you won’t outlive me so will you betray your loyalty to the Northern Qi?”

    “!”

Northern Aragatha who had been guessing Azadin’s intentions and feeling sorry for him until just now began to look at Azadin with a cold gaze as he rudely urged him to surrender.

“The rumors of the world were that King Azadin was a merciful just and great man but now I see that it was all just rumors.”

“I didn’t know he was such a stubborn guy.”

Alya sighed and showed her strength lightly in front of Azadin.

-The flowers birds wind and moon at dusk!

His figure disappeared leaving behind a trace and he turned to face Azadin before disappearing again and following behind him.

The Flower Bird and Moon is a magical book for assassination that was given directly by the Emperor. In order to understand its true nature it is divided into the Harconian Book which uses colorless magic and the Kazas Book which uses whatever is in the body such as energy or remaining magic.

Aliya showed that they had already mastered the Flower Bird and Moon to an advanced level by using the Harkonia and Kazas passages in succession.

    And that’s not all.

Alya’s figure disappeared again and returned to her original position.

Although it’s only for a short time he uses the same technique three times in one breath.

Even a technique that cannot be used repeatedly due to exhaustion after using it once was used three times in one breath which indirectly shows that there is another interpretation and that the power is drawn from another source resulting in superior output.

“You’re saying you can use the Flower Bird Wind and Moon with nether magic?”

“Well done King Azadin. This is the new interpretation of the Flower Bird and Moon that our Northern Aragatha has studied Aliya.”

    “Hmm.”

“I know from Zion Etar that you have overwhelmed other messengers by using both the Harconian and Kazasian passages simultaneously. But we have one more interpretation in addition to that.”

“It was foolish to accept the magic of the Nether but it certainly deserves to be treated like Sion Etar.”

Azadin looked at Alya with a smirk.

“I guess I’ll have to sweat a bit to get the nether magic out.”

    “You’re so cheeky. I can’t stand it!”

Harlan one of the three who could no longer bear Azadin’s provocation jumped in unable to contain his anger.

    *********

He charged forward with the speed of a gale characteristic of the Flower Bird and Moon and thrust his fist powerfully.

It was not something to be taken lightly just because it was bare-handed. It was a deadly attack that could stop even a bear’s heart with a single blow.

A fist with enough power to tear a person apart with just a passing glance flies in at a terrifying speed.

But at that moment Harlan’s fist pierced the air and instead using the momentum Harlan was thrown.

Azadin dodged Harlan’s fist and threw him with the same momentum.

    “Huh!”

Alya who had been watching tried to catch Harlan so that he would not get hurt but the moment they made contact she realized something was wrong.

    It’s strangely heavy.

    “Kista!”

    “okay!”

Another of the three Kista jumped in to assist and rolled on the ground.

Alya and Kista managed to catch Harlan as he rolled and landed but he crashed into the furniture placed in the large conference room and was shattered.

    “Ugh!”

    “this!”

The elders and other northern Aragats who had been watching drew their bows and aimed them at Azadin.

And without saying who would go first they all fired their arrows at the same time.

There is nowhere to run indoors! What’s more these are Aragasas who are known for their sharp teeth when it comes to bows!

Their arrows all flew towards Azadin but when Azadin moved his hand all the arrows flew back to the people who had fired them.

    “Hic?!”

    “what?!”

The panicked Aragasa members quickly raised their bows and caught the arrows flying back at them.

It was possible to prevent all the arrows in the bow from breaking.

    “….”

For a moment silence filled the room.

Azadin stood still looking back at the Aragasa members.

    “uh?”

    “….”

Jibek and Niselda who were watching the fight were also confused.

‘But isn’t this beyond Your Majesty’s usual abilities?’

Among Azadin’s subjects Zibek was the one who had been with Azadin the longest.

So I thought I knew the limits of Azadin’s abilities.

From the perspective of such a Jebek if we evaluate Azadin recently he has become weaker compared to his prime.

My body was being eaten away by illness and I was missing training due to the heavy workload.

In contrast the abilities of this trio clearly seemed to surpass those of Azadin during his prime.

    That’s what happened….

The ability that Azadin displayed was of a tremendous level unlike anything seen before.

It was a bolt from the blue for the northern Aragasa as even Azadin’s friendly subjects such as Jibek were surprised.

In fact the Northern Aragasas claimed that they had polished all of the Flower Bird and Moon skills that Azadin knew but in reality only the three of them had properly mastered the Flower Bird and Moon skills.

The three of them learned everything from Harkonia to Kazas and even Aliya but the other agents were not even able to properly learn Kazas.

However the abilities of these three people were the pinnacle of Northern Aragasa and perhaps even more powerful than those of anyone under the Northern Emperor.

But Harlan one of the three was incapacitated just by sharing a single moment with Azadin and all the Aragasas in this place shot arrows at him at once and he returned the blow?

At that time a slowly warm wind was blowing from Azadin.

I can feel the heat of Azadin in this room.

‘This is ridiculous. This is like….’

Everyone looked at Azadin in shock.

Although he had clearly been suffering from illness and fatigue until just now Azadin now looked somewhat carefree.

It was as if he had put down a burden he had carried for a long time. And the halo that had appeared on Azadin’s head was becoming more intense and clearer.

Suddenly a dazzling halo illuminates the Northern Aragasa conference room which was previously lit by candles.

Everyone was speechless at the bizarre and majestic sight and their eyes were fixed on Azadin.

Azadin turned his head cleared his throat spat out blood and wiped his nosebleed with his hand.

“What? You’re calming down again? That’s good. You don’t have to kill everyone.”

    “….”

It was an extremely rude remark but no one present could have thought that Azadin was lying.

    “Oh over there…..”

    Aliya stepped forward before Azadin.

    “Shall we test our skills?”

“No that’s not true. There’s something I’m curious about. Is it possible that Your Majesty Azadin… has not been demonstrating his abilities all this time?”

“No. I have always been giving my all. How could I possibly be sitting back and enjoying some comfort while my men are dying?”

“That must be true. Where would you find someone like that?”

It’s tiring to give it your all in everything but it doesn’t make sense to become the king of the South by doing everything sloppily.

    But then Azadin added:

“I received magic from Lord Sok but it was only recently that I gained some enlightenment and was able to use it. I didn’t have the energy to do so until now as I was protecting the South from the cold.”

    “…yes?”

    Alya doubted her ears.

What is this guy talking about now?

“Do you mean to say that Your Majesty was blocking Fimbulbert?”

    “however?”

    “…?”

Only then did the Northern Aragasa agents realize that they had made a huge mistake.

Azadin was surprisingly able to stand against the cold of Fimbulbert and guard the throne alone.

The new king who single-handedly held back the cold wave that swept across the southern kingdom.

Isn’t he truly a living god?

The elders of the northern Aragasa looked at each other’s faces.

    ‘Are you serious? This guy?’

‘But if not it doesn’t make sense. Do you think a human being can defeat Harlan in one blow?’

‘But if you say it like that it’s like….’

One of the elders raised his hand hesitantly.

“Me. If you say that doesn’t it sound like you’re a god?”

    “I can’t say no.”

    “…….”

“But isn’t it strange to be saying this now? Doesn’t the Church of the King teach that kings are descendants of God and wise gods?”

    “That’s a metaphor… no it’s not.”

Everyone became dumb after eating honey.

A force that protects the vast southern kingdom under Fimbulbert.

The power to drive away the cold that freezes even the subtropical seas of the South was contained in one human body.

To call oneself a god would be sheer frivolity but if what Azadin says is true it would also be deceptive to say that he is not a god.
