    #433. Season of War 7

    “Shoot!”

The Sandokkar army fired arrows simultaneously at the running Breeds.

These northern bridles have thick fur wear leather armor on top of it and even carry shields making them resistant to arrows and crossbows allowing them to close the distance.

The musketeers fired their muskets causing the Breedles’ defensive formation to collapse but there were not many musketeers in Sandokar.

Azadin occupied Banling and acquired a lot of muskets and blunderbusses. It is also clear that muskets and blunderbusses are much easier weapons to learn than bows.

However in an era when supplies were scarce it was difficult to train while consuming gunpowder.

So Azadin has been pushing gunpowder to his already trained elite Dwarf archers who are already familiar with the art of musketry and blunderbuss so that his elite troops can use more supplies and so far it has been very effective.

However this resulted in a shortage of gunpowder and ammunition in areas that were treated as rearguards such as Sandokkar.

The Breedles who had approached at the risk of casualties from musket fire hurled javelins at the northern gate of Sandokar.

“Are you crazy? What are you throwing a javelin at the wall for?”

A javelin was a much heavier projectile than a bow so it was not easy to throw it over a wall by hand.

And Bridle’s shoulders were not suited to throwing projectiles like a human’s so despite his muscular body being larger than a human’s his javelin’s range was only about the same as a human’s.

But the moment the javelin flew that way and struck the stone wall something amazing happened.

    “on!”

As Camilla chanted the spell the javelins embedded themselves in the walls and the wooden shafts of the javelins came to life and began to take root.

In an instant the spear that had grown into a tree took root in the stone wall and grabbed hold of it.

And the stone wall unable to support the weight of the trees collapsed outward as if a wooden rake was tearing off a handful of the wall.

Even if it were hit by a cannon the wall wouldn’t be destroyed so easily.

    “oh my god!”

    “Eww! It’s going to collapse!”

As the walls were torn outward the earth and stones came crashing down beneath them and the gallery through which soldiers had moved for defense also collapsed.

    “Oh my god!”

“Is this the witch of Shade Hag?!”

The knights of Count Ivechek’s army were terrified.

It’s on a whole different level from the Bree army we’ve seen so far.

Camilla’s Wild Magic can easily destroy walls but a single javelin can do as much damage as a siege gun.

    furthermore….

    “Eww!”

    Countach throws a javelin.

Countach didn’t really stand in the line of battle but stood next to Camilla and threw his javelin. However due to the half-orc’s great strength it flew an absurdly long distance and hit the battlements of the watchtower where Azadin was standing.

In an instant the northern wall of Sandokkar was reduced to a rag.

“It’s better than firing a cannon while consuming expensive gunpowder.”

Azadin was also surprised by the siege of the Bree army led by Camilla.

The Breeders were known to be weak compared to their size as they did not have proper metal weapons but they never expected that they would be able to demolish the walls much more easily than firearms.

Sandokar’s soldiers found it difficult to move through the gallery on top of the wall as the wall was broken.

With the gallery disconnected integrated defense becomes impossible.

Then the bridles will be able to approach the walls more easily and when the bridles approach the number of javelins hitting the walls will also increase.

    “Ugh! It’s falling apart!”

“Damn it! I’m out of arrows!”

    “The arrow is over there!”

Isolated soldiers without arrows or ammunition were terrified.

In the courtyard a ladder was set up and the supply men hoisted up arrows and ammunition but the quantity was so small that it was as if they were urinating on their feet.

The problem was that everyone was exhausted. With Azadin’s help we managed to get a decent night’s sleep but that wasn’t enough to relieve the fatigue from the long hours.

I thought that if I had the wall I would be able to win no matter how many Bree’s came but the wild magic was much stronger than they expected.

Fatigue fear and awe were seeping into them slowly sinking them into the swamp.

    “This won’t work.”

Azadin signaled to Indim and Seraph.

    “your majesty?!”

As Ismail also took up his weapon Azadin pointed to Midiam.

    “Ismail you protect the queen.”

    “…yes.”

    “Then shall we go?”

“You want to become king and do it yourself?”

Indim stood beside Azadin as he asked him.

At that moment Azadin and Indim Seraph disappeared from the walls.

In an instant it moved along the shadows of the walls through a gap in the bridle and appeared before their eyes.

Surprisingly Bridle was so absorbed in the walls that he didn’t notice Azadin and Indim Seraph.

Since they already have werewolves in their army it is not strange that they have allies in human form.

Azadin and Indim Seraph avoided Breedle and used their magic of the Wind and Moon once again to move from shadow to shadow and approach Camilla and Countach.

“You bastards! Are you going to assassinate the witch?”

The werewolves rushed at him but Indim held out his hand.

“Who opens their eyes like that?”

At that moment the top of the werewolf’s head was cleanly cut off with the jaw as the standard.

Seraph also stabbed the werewolf’s heart with his sword piercing it.

Camilla was startled at the sight.

I was able to truly appreciate the skills of Indim and Seraph by seeing them cut down werewolves that would normally overwhelm not only soldiers but even elite knights in a single attack.

“So this is the messenger clan called the Kingslayers. How surprising.”

“Of course you should be surprised. We are the best among the messenger clan.”

Although Indim said so Azadin stopped Indim and stepped in front of Camilla.

“Camilla I can totally understand your frustration. But you also know that what you’re saying is just an excuse right?”

“No. Seriously. King Azadin. Rather than just suturing it up we need to operate hotly. If we accept the king and nobles who have been tormenting the Hybris people for so long ordinary humans will live as slaves forever. Instead of being slaves they will become slaves with different names and the color of the chains will only change.”

    Countach gestured to his men.

    “Everyone! The king is here!”

As Bree and the werewolves attack the walls some of them turn around and head towards Azadin.

Thanks to this the enemies attacking Sandokar were weakened and the javelins thrown by Breed did not tear down the trees on the wall but just became javelins and crumbled helplessly as they hit the stones.

“Now King Azadin. I will not run away. Then you will not run away and fight me right? Even if I have to grind all the Breeds here if I can catch you I will achieve my goal!”

When Camilla said that Azadin looked at her with a pitiful expression.

    “hmm?”

“You don’t know this even after I showed it to you once? You idiot. You are already within the king’s reach.”

    Indim warned.

As soon as Azadin stretched out his hand a terrifying sword light flashed and cut off about a third of Camilla’s neck.

“The flowers birds wind and moon are dark and dark. As for skill… I think I’m better?”

    Indim commented on Azadin’s skills.

    “under.”

Camilla tried to heal her wound with wild magic stopping the bleeding from her neck but the magic of the flower bird and moon pushed away her magic and the wound did not heal.

The magic book Flower Bird Wind and Moon created by the Emperor for the messenger clan is the ultimate assassination magic that has even killed god kings.

The effect was so powerful that even Camilla the witch of wild magic could not withstand it.

In an instant the pressure in the blood vessels leading to the brain dropped causing everything to go dark and my right eye to go completely dark like a blown-out candle.

    “I’m sorry.”

Azadin looked at Camilla with pity.

Most of those who become witches have a wish they would like to fulfill even if it means giving up their souls.

A soulless blasphemer who lost his soul through a contract.

But the reason they had no soul was because they had suffered so much. In other words they were the ones who had the most outstanding emotional sensitivity.

That is why Azadin sympathized with Camilla’s situation and felt pity for her.

It was also the arrogance of the strong. Even though Camilla was a talented warrior Azadin could have easily taken her head so he did not feel threatened by her actions and tried to persuade her as much as possible.

“Don’t waste your life trying to save someone like me when you have such talent. Your Majesty you idiot. Destroy everything that blocks your way and turn this world upside down as you wish. Just as I risked everything for what I believe in you should trample on everything for what you believe in…”

Camilla said so and released the hand that was stopping the bleeding on her neck.

Her life was cut off in an instant as blood spurted out again in time with her heartbeat.

    “Sister!”

Countach jumped out in shock but Seraph struck Countach in the torso with his fist. Seraph though not of ordinary height was small compared to Countach and a blue bird-shaped light pierced Countach’s back causing blood to spurt out of Countach’s mouth and eyes and causing his eyeballs to pop out of their sockets.

    “Seraph.”

“I got rid of him first thinking that Your Majesty might forgive him.”

    “I guess I looked sloppy.”

    “It’s true that it’s sloppy.”

Indim was making a fuss. Seraph looked dumbfounded when he saw that.

If it weren’t for the sloppiness that Indim speaks of Azadin might have been unable to tolerate Indim’s rudeness and would have purged him.

It is amazing that he is alive and breathing thanks to Azadin’s generosity yet he says such things.

    “Okay. Let’s go back.”

With the loss of Camilla Bree and the werewolf forces suddenly lost their center of gravity.

The Sandokhar side hastily reinforced the collapsed wall gallery with planks and fired arrows and stones from above so the Bree army did not dare to approach and began to retreat.

    “Catch the enemy king!”

The few remaining werewolves shouted at Breed.

Enemies swarm Azadin and Seraph Indim.

    but….

    “Anyway with the deer heads!”

Indim holds a dagger in both hands and slashes at the approaching Breeds. The dagger strike has such great force that it cuts off their skulls and opens their heads.

Seraph and Azadin also drew their swords and swung them cutting down the approaching enemies with fallen leaves and using the heads of the confused Breeds as stepping stones they jumped up onto the wall and safely returned to the wall.

Sandokkar’s soldiers who had seen the performance forgot to cheer and just stared blankly.

‘Oh my god… You’re going into the enemy camp during a siege and cutting down the enemy general?’

    ‘Is this the messenger clan!?’

‘Is this the basic standard for all messengers?’

Of course we must not forget that Seraph and Indim are among the most talented people of their generation even among the Heralds. However to those who do not know the inside story they feel a strange sense of awe as if they were seeing a mythical demon alive and moving before their eyes.

    *********

After the deaths of Camilla and Countach Breedle’s army lost control and fell into disarray.

Before the follow-up forces arrived Azadin and his entourage alone repelled the enemies threatening Sandokar.

But Azadin was still busy without any time to catch his breath.

The Chitai army began to launch a full-scale offensive against Naisandhokar.

Not only that Fireglyph was also put in danger of being turned into a lighthouse by the attack of the Wisdom Sect.

But Azadin was unable to move to save Naisandhokar…

This was because the day after he defeated Camilla he was bedridden with a high fever.
