Night of the Soulless Heathens – 407

#407. The Age of Revelation 8
“The previous king was just a tyrant. Azadin didn’t do anything that great.”
“I wonder? I think he’s great. Have you forgotten how much the Indim Aragasas were despised? They wouldn’t even call him a king.”
“Huh. Medium Etar. He neglected you and yet you still take his side?”
The man called Indim glared at the girl.
“I’m just stating the objective facts. And if he had tried to get me back in a hurry I would have suffered even more?”
“Tch. The interpretation is better than the dream. He was too busy with his own ambitions to care about you. If not he should have at least asked us to save you.”
“And yet you saved me without asking?”
“Yeah. It’s my chance to do him a favor.”
“That’s right. If Azadin abandoned me why did you insist on taking me with you? If you think rescuing me will do Azadin a favor doesn’t that mean he’s happy about my rescue?”
“Ugh. It’s annoying Medium Etar. Damn it. Why does everyone like that kid?”
Then a man who had been looking at the other side of the boat approached them.
He was a young minstrel-like figure carrying a lute with a tall handsome face and a red feathered hat pulled down low.
“You are talking nonsense Indim. Azadin is Arael’s only blood relative and legacy. To disparage Azadin is an insult to Arael so admit it now.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Who in this world today can seize the throne on their own without their father being king and be called a king rather than a thief? Azadin is indeed an outstanding person.”
“The Salvation Knights are behind him right? He’s a believer in the Salvation Knights.”
“Yes. Let’s say the Rescue Knights are believers and support Aragasa without any resistance. Why can’t we get such easy support and end up like a broken line? In the end getting support and support is also a skill.”
“…….”
In that regard Indim had nothing to say. In fact he was already impressed by Azadin’s abilities.
But I’m just being stubborn because I feel like if I admit it I’ll look so pathetic.
“I checked the rear of the ship. There doesn’t seem to be any pursuers. Everyone get some more rest. I’ll take a look at the net.”
Then a boy on the east side of the boat walked over.
“Seraph over there. There’s a carriage on the riverbank and those chasing it are engaged in a fierce chase.”
“Really? Ismail. Let me use my foresight magic to check.”
“All right.”

A boy named Ismail flew the seer to the carriage to see the carriage’s owner and the pursuers.
“Hmm. The carriage is carrying nuns and doctors. It has three wings the symbol of the Knights Templar.”
“Are they the Salvation Knights or the Charity Cult? What kind of guys are they chasing?”
“Three light cavalry. They run quite well. And…..”
The boy named Ismail grimaced.
“I can’t see your face because of the foresight. No this is….”
At that moment the magic of foresight was broken.
“Hmm.”
Seraph a member of the Aragasa Arael tribe and the leader of the birds of this generation was lost in thought.
It is possible for a foresight to break on its own only if it is done by a powerful wizard or a terrible being.
Seon-Gyeon-Jo is a magic that creates an artificial bird spirit for a very short time.
It is a magic that connects consciousness while flying it to scout and monitor the surroundings.
In places filled with evil poison or black magic the foresight does not function properly as the telepathic link between the caster operating the foresight and the caster is distorted by magic.
‘The Charity Church is being chased. Those who are chasing them don’t seem like just a bunch of bandits do they?’
It was Seraph who had just told Indim that Azadin was able to become king thanks to the support of the Knights of Salvation.
It was as if his words were woven together like some kind of spell ordering him to save them.
“I guess I need to help. Hey Captain can you slow down the ship for a moment? I need to save those people over there.”
“Yes? But we’re in the middle of the river right now?”
“It doesn’t matter. I’m going back on this ship so just put the sails down for a bit.”
Seraph said this and stood on the railing of the ship.
“Oh really. You’re doing something useless. Do you think they’ll be happy if we save them? It’d be lucky if they didn’t bite their tongues and commit suicide after receiving help from the Herald Clan.”
Indim followed grumbling. Ismail also tried to follow Indim but Indim stopped him with his hand and pointed to Medium.
It was a signal to guard the medium.
“but….”
“Have you forgotten who you are talking to?”
Indim of the Flower Bird and Moon pressed Ismail with a sharp tone.
“Why are you yelling at the kid? Come on let’s go. Indim. You should be nice to others.”
Seraph said this to the grumbling Indim then took a feather out of the hem of his clothes and blew on it.
A glowing bird appears and flies out. Seraph and Indim simultaneously fly up and step on the glowing bird causing it to explode in the air and turn into a ring of light.
“Ugh!”
“car!”
Indim and Seraph ran through the air again and landed on the ice by the river.
Although it was only thin ice they stepped onto the ice rink as if snowflakes were falling and slid down to the ground.
“Oh my god! What kind of magic is this?”
Wouldn’t it be nice to jump off a boat sailing in the middle of the river and fly for more than a dozen miles landing safely on the riverbank without breaking the ice?
The sailors watching felt as if they were under some kind of spell.

Doctors and nuns from the Order of Mercy wearing plague doctor’s masks rode along the road in a carriage.
The knights pursue them behind them as a blizzard rages.
A senior nun her face covered by a veil leaned out of the carriage window and looked back.
Three light cavalrymen were charging forward carrying longswords.
There were only three pursuers but she knew how dangerous they were.
“Stop! Heine the Sabbath-bringer! We need to talk!”
The voice of the light cavalry cuts through the wind.
It was a distance that I shouldn’t have heard. The noise of the horses galloping and the wind made sounds that I shouldn’t have heard vividly seep into my head.
Could it be some kind of telepathy rather than words?
But then suddenly arrows flew and struck the pursuers’ heads precisely.
“no?!”
Two messengers fired their arrows from the front of the carriage.
Those holding the Moon-shaped Bow a characteristic of the Jeonryung Clan fired arrows again simultaneously shooting another person who had not yet been hit then jumped onto the moving carriage.
Before the Sabbath guide Heine could react they easily boarded the carriage.
‘They say the Heralds are monsters and it’s true. King Azadin is a chosen one so even so it’s surprising that even these Heralds are this outstanding.’
The Sabbath leader Heine was once again amazed by the tremendous abilities of the messenger clan.
Of course those who had just boarded the carriage were not unknown recruits but leaders of the young men who would lead a generation of the strongest four-person messenger clan within the same training unit but Heine had no way of knowing the details.
“Hmm. I definitely avoided the helmet and hit it between the eyebrows.”
“The fraud doesn’t subside at all.”
Heine was surprised to hear what they said.
It’s surprising enough that he shot his pursuers riding on horseback from afar with an arrow but how can he aim for the gap between their helmets and shoot them between their eyebrows?
Looking back I could clearly see that an arrow was lodged between the helmets.
The pursuers stagger still stung by arrows then come to their senses and run again.
This is not a normal authorized rider’s reaction.
“Shall I shoot the horse?”
Two messengers took arrows out of their quivers and shot them.
The arrows of the sharpshooters which had been fired through the slit of a helmet from a distance of 60 paces and struck a man between the eyebrows fell feebly low.
Isn’t that what passes between a horse’s legs?
With that thought in mind Heine watched the arrow’s path…
-Throw!
The arrow passed through the horse’s ankle ligament the thinnest part of its leg. The force of the arrow was so strong that it severed the horse’s tendon.
The galloping horse could not support its own weight broke its leg fell forward and rolled along the ground with its rider.
“no!”
The last remaining rider was startled and cast a spell.
A shield of soft radiance visible even from a distance surrounded him and his horse.
but….
-Shhh!
Two arrows fly almost simultaneously.
The arrows fired by the two messenger clans hit the exact same spot at the exact same time.
The first step bounced off Seo Gwang’s shield…
The second arrow hit the exact spot where the first arrow had hit piercing the shield and hitting the horse.
However it seems that he had used too much force to break Seogwang’s shield as the arrow did not break the horse’s bones but simply lodged itself in them.
But it was enough to shake off the pursuer.
‘They both shot at the exact same location?’
Heine was amazed by the performance of the two messenger families.
“Okay then… Hey nun. Are you the leader of these guys?”
“First of all it is certain that I am of the highest rank.”
“Hmm. Really? Where are you going? Why are you being chased by something like that?”
“Thank you for saving me but I shouldn’t tell anyone.”
“Really? If you were going to Azadin I would protect you and go with you.”
The gruff-looking messenger immediately mentioned Azadin.
“Are you by any chance related to King Azadin of Banreung?”
“He is his senior.”
“I understand that the Heralds have labeled him a traitor and are trying to execute him.”
“We are not.”
“How can I believe that?”
“that….”
Indim was speechless at Heine’s attitude of questioning him in return.
Then Seraph answered.
“We are the vassals of King Azadin’s older sister. We are on our way back to rescue her disciple in order to help King Azadin so please trust us.”
“okay.”
This is a title given to the highest-ranking agents of the Order of Mercy the Guide to Rest and as the name suggests they are agents who are accustomed to murder assassination and terrorist operations.
As a trained spy she could tell that the people in front of her were spies with considerable skills.
And you can’t trust those spy people.
But somehow I could tell that Seraph was telling the truth.
“Thank you for helping me. But they don’t die like this.”
“I think so.”
Seraph said so and looked back at Indim.
“Why don’t you listen to me and understand what I say perfectly? In fact there’s no end to doubting what you say right?”
“That’s the difference in speaking skills. Indim.”
“If you say it like that I’ll be more….”
“Yeah. You’re not good at talking dirty.”
“….”
Indim kept his mouth shut.
Even though they were the ones who rescued the nuns of the Mercy Order the foresight magic still didn’t work.
It seems that the venom pouring out of the surrounding area is not the end of the horsemen that were just defeated.
