#369. Call of the Throne 7
In the throne hall where the dwarven king Manawidan resides the guards are making a fuss.
“Your Majesty. Captain Iak has been murdered by a bandit! Judging by the blood sucked from his entire body and the teeth marks it seems that Griselda killed him.”
The dwarf guards were blaming Griselda for the death of Iak who had gone to call for her from the rear and was found dead.
But Manawidan closed his eyes looked around and clicked his tongue.
“That Griselda just died too.”
“yes?”
“These are my words who have taken the throne of Yaegas. Believe me. It is the truth.”
“However….”
“Huh. You dare spit on my words?!”
Manawidan the king of the dwarves opened his eyes.
A pale force radiated from him and struck the guard who had inadvertently uttered words of distrust.
“Kkaaaak!”
The guard screams. His body is on fire. The startled guard rolls on the floor trying to put out the fire but it doesn’t go out and keeps burning.
“Aurelia Dawn said she would burn vampires forever? How about this?”
“Your Majesty!”
“Trust me. I hold the throne of Yaegas so I am the true king. I have power and wisdom that you can’t even imagine now so the battlefield outside is nothing to me.”
The body of the guard who dared to spit on Manawidan was burned and soon turned to ash.
The guards were embarrassed to see that. They thought it was worth being killed for daring to spit on the king’s words but Manawidan was not originally this picky.
But the current Manawidan is extremely arrogant and cruel.
“I miss the nightly pleasures that Griselda and her daughters provided. But soon the whole world will bow its head at my feet.”
-Kurururung!
The fortress shook with the sound of explosions. Contrary to Manawidan’s confident words the dwarven defense lines which were trying to block the rescue knights continued to put up a fierce resistance by continuously exploding explosives and magic stones.
The flames were getting closer and closer to the throne. The guards were sweating coldly.
‘Those Celestial Knights and their Nether minions are no joke.’
‘But if I spit it out I might die like I did just now.’

‘What on earth should I do?’
It was an awkward time for everyone.
“It seems you are quite tired Your Majesty.”
A human voice was heard from the secret passage created behind the throne where Manawidan sat to allow the king to escape.
A man wearing a bird mask appeared.
He was a man from the Herald Clan wearing blue wire armor made from a mixture of Azure Steel.
“You’re here messenger clan. I almost lost my neck waiting for you. You did what you were told right?”
“Yes. As you commanded I killed most of the residents of Banreung and brought them. This is really something. They were once our neighbors living in the Kerim Mountains so it was heartbreaking to kill them.”
In addition to the ones wearing Azuresteel wire armor other messenger clansmen began to appear one after another.
The guards of Manawidan were startled.
It appears that they are a herald clan that had made deals with the Manawidan King and he did not like the fact that these so-called Kingslayers were in the king’s immediate vicinity.
But the king Manawidan did not care whether they approached or not.
“Huh. You’re talking nonsense… No matter how much I ask you to do it’s killing innocent people and turning them into meat to bring back. If you cared even a little bit about the people of Kerim how could you agree to my contract?”
Manawidan said so and grabbed the tangled veins of the throne.
These people who were originally Yaegasu gods of Banreung mutated into blood vessels and hearts were able to hear sounds and see objects even in this situation and were able to feel pain and fear because of it.
As if to represent the emotions of the Yaegasu gods who were trembling the hearts clinging to the throne beat violently and the thumping vibrations spread throughout the mountain.
Manawidan opened his mouth bit the blood vessel and drank the blood in gulps.
The throne glowed with light and pale power spread out in all directions. The dwarf’s beard turned bloody and soaked his shoes.
A river of blood forms on the steps leading up to the throne causing the throne to shake.
From the throne powerful magical power spreads out in all directions.
“When a rightful king takes the throne the light of the king’s flower protects the world…”
The messenger clan in blue wire armor smiled bitterly as they watched the scene.
“Lord Zion. The necromancy has been lifted. The corpses are now part of Ashajit’s clan… and they are now attacking the rear of the Celestial Fires. The Celestial Fire Knights are being attacked by the dwarves inside the fortress and the Ashajit clan outside…”
His subordinates reported in surprise. All the corpses that had been placed under the necromancy spell had been transformed into Ashajit’s followers and were freed from the necromancy spell’s control.
“Well that’s because they were brought here for that purpose. They used necromancy to make it easier to move the corpses so it’s not surprising that they’re released. What’s surprising is the power of King Manawidan who transformed so many people into Ashajit’s followers here.”
As he spoke the blue wire armored messenger Zion Ethar smiled.
“Then will you pay me the promised compensation?”
“…I will keep my promise. After all I am the king.”
Manawidan said so and put his hand into his bosom.
“Let it be received. It will lead you to the Sun of Sunwoo.”
It was a transparent and ethereal human hand made of extremely pure magic stone.
When Elemental Wailing patients die they transform into magic stones but most of them explode and shatter into pieces.
But sometimes there are those who show perfect compliance and those who are transformed into magic stones become like transparent and splendid jewels.
This hand was the one that had mutated into a jewel.
“Hmm. Does this mean that this will lead to Sunwoo’s sun? I heard that in the first contract you were supposed to hand over Sunwoo’s sun.”
“It’s basically handing it over. I don’t think your messenger clan is so incompetent that they can’t find Sunwoo’s sun even with this.”
When the heralds heard those words they all looked at their elder Zion Etar.

Should we really consider this a done deal?
But the elder of the herald clan Sion Ethar smiled and bowed to Manawidan.
“I see. I understand. We will look into it. Thank you. Well then. Good luck Your Majesty. May your wishes come true.”
“When that time comes you too will bow your heads at my feet. Come find the Sun of Seonwoo. Do you have to do something to receive the oath of loyalty from you soulless blasphemers?”
Manawidan absurdly made a promise to the messenger tribe that if they could find the Sunwoo’s sun he would accept them as his subordinates as a reward for their service.
“Of course. I’m looking forward to that time. Well then that’s it. We’ll leave to find Sunwoo’s sun.”
Zion Etar said this and withdrew with his men.
*********
The one who fired the arrow at Azadin appeared from the darkness.
“Be careful Count. The author is a man of considerable skill.”
Bernard created small blood spiders to guard the dwarves’ secret passages while avoiding enemies.
The person who broke through that barrier must be someone of great skill.
But Azadin shook his head.
“I know it.”
“but….”
The arrow just now was filled with murderous intent. It wasn’t shot as a courtesy but with the intent to kill. Even if it was an acquaintance wouldn’t the murderous intent be clear?
At that moment the opponent appeared from the darkness.
He was a young man with a cold and cold impression.
“You’ve risen to fame Azadin. You who used to be called Azadin of Muan are now the Margrave of Naisandhokar.”
“It’s been a while Ismail. I guess you’ve grown a lot since we last saw each other maybe because you’re growing up? It’s good to see you’re safe.”
“You’re happy to meet me? Who are you talking about now? I can’t believe that those words came from the mouth of someone who abandoned us and took the title of count.”
“How are you Medium?”
“How could that be? Why did you abandon her? Is your goal to become a noble?”
Ismail was indignant.
Then Jibek stepped forward.
“Ismail. Count Azadin has never lived a life without selfish desires. Furthermore he has tried to obtain news of you and Midiam through the messengers’ contacts.”
“You’re making a very obvious defense Sir Jebeck.”
Ismail glared at Zibek and frowned.
He knew it too.
Azadin is never one to think only of his own comfort while playing.
Now that Fimbulbert has approached Azadin must have been busy working tirelessly to make his own plan come true.
The more Azadin shows interest in Midiam the more dangerous it becomes for Midiam and Ismail.
But knowing it with my head and accepting it with my heart were two different things.
“Is Zion Etard here? Could it be that the clients are dwarves?”
Even in this situation Azaddin tried to get information through Ismail.
Ismail was angry but he had only a short time to act on his own so he had no choice but to answer Azadin’s questions.
“Yes. At the request of the Dwarf King Manawidan the clan killed people to create a huge number of undead and brought them to us. It seems like they were originally going to use them to attack vampires and whatnot…”
“Celestial Fire must have hit you in the back of the head. Alright Ismail. Answer the questions properly. It’s important for you and Medium.”
“…….”
“If I kill Zion Etar now will things be better for you and Midiam?”
“yes?”
Ismail was surprised to hear Azadin’s words.
Sion Etar is the figure who emerged as the de facto central figure of the Senate after the death of High Commander Hathir.
And his skills and qualities are superior to those of the great leader Hatir.
But isn’t Azadin saying that he can take Zion Etar’s life at any time?
No matter how much Ismail wanted Azadin to rescue Midiam as a member of the Herald Clan Azadin’s words made him feel bad because he seemed to be ridiculing and ignoring the entire Herald Clan.
After all Azadin is also a messenger clan.
‘Anyway he’s an arrogant person. But….’
Ismail shook his head.
“Midiam is not here. If we kill Zion Etar here her life will be in danger.”
“I see. Are you keeping him locked up?”
“yes.”
“What did the clan agree to receive from the dwarves in return for the deal?”
“I don’t know much about it either. But I know it’s a great magical artifact.”
“Hmm. That’s not good.”
Just then a whistle was heard from far away.
“It looks like this deal is done. I guess I should step down.”
“….”
“I’m telling you in advance that if I don’t go right now I might torture Medium.”
“Ah. So that’s how you hold the reins? Ismail. I’m sorry but that would be nonsense. You wouldn’t torture the Etar bloodline just to rein in a mere servant would you?”
“…I really don’t like that about you.”
Ismail left those words behind and stepped back exiting the secret passage.
