    #339. Heart of Destruction 5

Azadin rushed forward with a terrifying momentum grabbed a female vampire floating in the air and threw her at Griselda. At the same time he rushed towards Griselda.

If Griselda avoids the thrown female vampire he plans to change the angle and attack her at that moment.

But Griselda looking at her daughter nonchalantly swung her claws and tore her to pieces.

And he struck his nails at Azadin who was rushing at him.

Her sharp fingernails are as black as the darkness of night and cannot be seen properly in this wind and rain.

It looks like a human or animal’s claw but it can easily stretch dozens of times in an instant and despite being so thin it is strangely strong and can tear apart an opponent like a well-forged sword.

Azadin reached out to avoid her claws not knowing how much power was latent within her.

The target was Asajit’s eye a large red gem attached to Griselda’s forehead.

However Griselda dodged Azadin’s attack and dug her claws into his arm.

Azadin’s palm was pierced and his nails protruded from his palm to the back of his hand.

    “Ugh?!”

“Ahahaha. The sweet smell of blood. Little one. Where should I look?”

Griselda lightly blasted away Azadin’s mask and raised her hand. Despite his considerable stature Azadin’s feet lifted off the ground.

Surprisingly Griselda lifted Azadine using only one hand.

Azadin immediately grabbed his own hand to prevent the wound from tearing further but he was instead sucked into Griselda.

    “Ugh!”

    “Huh? Really?!”

Griselda was amazed as she looked at Azadin’s eyes revealed by the flying mask.

Harkonia’s eyes which are said to have captivated even Emperor Yaeslat are so smooth and delicate that it is hard to tell if she is a man or a woman and her purple eyes shine like stars even in the dark.

A copy of the New King’s Book and the Twisted Contract of Service. Born supernaturally and with mysterious origins Azadin possessed a beautiful and elegant appearance except that he had no eyes from the beginning. However Harconia’s eyes were the finishing touch to his appearance.

“How charming. Hehe. It would be a shame to give it to the Shade Hags…”

Griselda pierced Azadine’s hand and stepped as if she were dancing at a ballroom. Azadine had to follow her dance to avoid tearing his hand.

“Ahahahaha! Amazing! Azadin! To have the hero of the Herald Clan in my hands! What shall I do?! Will you become my blood relative?! Will you become the master of this night with me and enjoy the utmost pleasure? Of course that is if I don’t get tired of you….”

It was when Griselda was delighted to think that she had obtained Azadine.

Suddenly a golden flame arose from Azadin’s hand.

    “ah!?”

A part of Aurelia Dawn remained in Azadin’s hand. Azadin thought it would be difficult to approach Griselda completely unscathed so he held a part of Aurelia Dawn that had been shattered into dozens of pieces in his hand and then touched it to Griselda’s body.

    “Kwaaah!”

The horrified Griselda cut off her own hand to prevent Aurelia Dunn’s flames from spreading throughout her body. She then swung the claw she had cut off her wrist with to attack Azadin but Azadin as if he had anticipated her attack lightly placed his hand on the ground and dodged her attack.

“I’m sorry but that’s not my style!”

Azadin flipped forward and kicked Griselda’s chin.

Griselda’s jaw broke and Asajit’s eyes rose to the sky.

    “Kaaaak!”

It was a terrifying attack that broke the jaw with a single blow and even caused the cervical vertebrae to turn backwards.

However Griselda regenerated her wounds so quickly that she lost consciousness in an instant.

She flew forward and tried to grab Ashajit’s eye but a figure snatched it out of the air.

It was the woman in black mourning Griselda’s daughter who retrieved it.

“My daughter! Well done! Quick return it to this mother!”

Griselda who had regenerated her jaw in an instant ordered her daughter to hand over Ashajit’s eyes.

    “…….”

    “Niseldah?”

“…Yeah. You really don’t recognize me.”

The woman who had retrieved Asajit’s eyes sat up. The veil covering her head fluttered in the cold night wind revealing her face.

Like all of Griselda’s daughters she had a beautiful face but unlike the other daughters she had the mark of the Knights Templar on her eyes and forehead.

“I am Niselda of the Knights of the Salvation Order. You ugly monster! It is time for you to pay for your sins!”

“Oh no! How dare you! Hand them over! I’ll kill you all!”

As the enraged Griselda cast her spell a crimson vortex began to swirl beneath her feet.

A terrible Nether magic spread around her consuming all living things.

    but….

    -Pants squeak!

Walls of force appeared across the crimson vortex along with electric sparks.

A wizard no less powerful than her had interfered with her powers and prevented the completion of the spell.

    “It’s been a while Griselda.”

    Bone-made wyverns hovered above Griselda.

Even in the midst of a blizzard of freezing cold that felt like it was biting flesh the wyvern riders were flying calmly.

Because these are the dead who are immune to the cold.

The death knight Sok and his army the Fimbul Horde had appeared.

    “Sok?! The Fimbulhorde?!”

Griselda was shocked at what was happening before her eyes.

The Fimbulhorde began to swoop down on the cultist mutants as they attempted to overwhelm the refugees.

The cult mutants and the undead army both nightmare-incarnate monsters began to fight each other.

“Yes you. Is it true that you have Sok as your subordinate?”

Griselda looked at Azadin in horror.

There were rumors that Sok the leader of the Fimbul Horde had been taken in by Azadin but I naturally thought that was a false rumor. Even if he was a herald kingslayer Sok who had mastered forbidden sorcery and led an army of undead would not have fallen under the command of a mere young man with blood.

    however….

This man in front of me clearly wields the power of a paladin to the extreme but isn’t he at least allied with the necromancer Lord Sok?

“It’s embarrassing to say that I’m your subordinate… Let’s just say that we’re allies.”

Azadin pulled out Griselda’s claws embedded in his hand and grabbed the hilt of his sword.

A golden flame races across the ground gathering towards the hilt of Aurelia Dunn’s sword.

The molten metal gathered again and was reborn as a dazzling golden sword.

    “Three…oh my god.”

“Melt the sword with ceramite flames and reconstruct it…”

Even the Celestial Knights were surprised so it seemed that only Azadin could do this. Azadin thought that since he a beginner could do it others could do it too but that wasn’t the case.

Because it’s Aurelia Dawn it burns vampires until they die and because it’s Azadin it creates a fire so hot that it melts ceramite swords.

All of these miracles were possible because Azadin was chosen by the angels.

“Yes. Azadin. You are the one who was appointed last by Lord Planck. Ha….”

Griselda groaned as she realized Azadin’s identity.

    “Griselda!”

Griselda’s daughter Niselda rushed forward with her side sword to kill Griselda but Griselda’s daughters blocked her path.

    “Don’t let her escape!”

Sok also gave orders to his men. Sok’s personal guard the elven wights rushed in casting spells and engaging in combat with Griselda’s daughters.

As the vampires and wights fought each other biting and clawing Griselda flung herself through the cult mutants and retreated.

“I will definitely get Ashajit’s eyes back! Fear the night!”

Griselda left those words behind and ran away. As soon as she ran away the cult mutants went berserk and even Sok couldn’t catch up with her.

    *********

‘Oh my goodness. The author is a member of the Herald Clan. The author is… the greatest knight?’

Triodana was horrified to see Azadin handling Aurelia Dunn fighting on equal footing with Griselda and standing shoulder to shoulder with the terrible Death Knight Sok.

He now realized that Azadin was no ordinary paladin.

‘The ceramite longsword he uses is the sword of Sir Aurelia Dawn Planck. The last person to be appointed by Sir Planck is said to be the best of the knights… Until now I thought my father was the last person to be appointed by Sir Planck but is it the author? The protagonist of the prophecy is the author?’

Thanks to this his life was saved but Triodana realized that Azadin was the most powerful enemy and rival of the Northern Qi.

    *********

The night sky where the snowstorm was melting and pouring down rain was sparkling with a strange light. The light from the torches and lanterns held by the people on the ground was reflected in the sky scattering pure white dots across the dark sky.

Azadin looked up at the sky and exhaled.

    My breath freezes.

His black hair was shiny and his purple eyes sparkled even in the darkness giving off the air of a noble hero.

Those who were rescued by Delia and Jarod Azadin were captivated by his appearance. At first they cheered at the sight of Celestial but now they have come to realize.

Azadin is truly the paladin of paladins.

The power of the ceramite longsword he wielded and the decisiveness to call even the Death Knight Sok as an ally if necessary were all worthy of being called a hero.

    but….

‘No damn it. Why is Sok here?’

Azadin himself was confused. Niselda and the others were the second group that was supposed to arrive after Azadin who had arrived on a hippogriff.

    But Sok never called.

They weren’t close enough to call Sok and Azadin and Sok hadn’t yet come to an agreement.

What Sok was after was the Eye of Asajit the treasure that Griselda had. Azadin had no intention of giving it to Sok.

Blood keeps flowing out of this Ashajit’s eyes and if you eat it you will all become undead and endure Fimbulbert so it is not something to be accepted as a good thing.

Any man in his right mind should refuse but Lord Sok’s forces are formidable. Furthermore he came as reinforcements and achieved great things so there was no reason to refuse.

‘Information is leaking out. Is there a spy among my men? Or is it from Fireglyph? There are so many places to be suspicious that I can’t tell where it is.’

Azadin’s forces are a group that was hastily formed by absorbing existing forces so naturally there will be many spies within them.

Azadin also assumed that there were spies or informants within his forces and acted accordingly.

However I thought there were no spies who could contact Sok. The spies of Vandyke’s Company the Order of the Knights of Salvation the King’s Church and bandits etc. could somehow entice people with religion or profit but Sok had little to offer humans.

But what shocked Azadin was that Sok was here.

Are there really people who wish to become undead?
