    #309. Miracle Leader 2

    It was a huge mill.

On the wall was a large rotating millstone powered by power from a water wheel and beneath it was a huge plate to catch the ground grain flowing out of the millstone.

The grindstone happened to be turning at that time.

Something ground with a dull sound and the grindstone was covered in blood.

Blood and gravel begin to flow out of the grindstone and collect in the dish below.

They are completely crushing the angel statues and grinding them to make them bleed.

After collecting a lot of angel blood the priests recited a spell and lifted up a child who had not yet been weaned.

They cut the child’s neck palms and soles with a ritual dagger causing the child to bleed from all over his body and then dipped the child into a dish of angel’s blood.

And as the priests chant the spell and bestow their magic powers… a transparent amniotic membrane begins to form around the child’s body in the bowl of blood.

Eventually the amniotic membrane became a thick egg and they took the egg out wiped the surface with a towel and carefully took the egg away.

And then the body of an old man not a child was brought in on a cart.

    “This person?”

“I am Count Dert a relative of Lioner.”

“Are you a member of the Yaegasu Shinto clan? Why did you die?”

“I don’t know. His Majesty Cohen Lioness requested that I be reincarnated… So he prepared the order form and sent it here.”

    “What a big deal?”

The sorcerers unraveled the spell scrolls given to them along with the corpses loaded onto the cart.

Judging by the letters that were burning and floating in the air it was definitely a grimoire filled with powerful magic.

And in addition to the grimoire the cart was also full of silver-decorated cups and bowls as well as gold and silver coins.

    It was a bribe.

The drinkers gulped when they saw the gold and silver treasures.

“As expected the Northern Qi Dynasty’s Nari is very generous.”

“Even if it’s Assander the financial expenditures will be no joke.”

    “You risked your life.”

    “let’s do it.”

They placed Count Dert’s body in a grindstone ground it together with the angel statue and mixed it anew in a dish of blood.

And then he saved another child and put it in a plate of blood to make the child into an angel’s egg.

The descendants of the dead Yaegasu gods were being reincarnated as Celestials using the blood of angels and the lives of infants.

    *********

    “….”

Azadin was hiding in the gearbox that powered the grindstone and was watching the scene while sending Arael’s voice.

I expected there would be a terrible secret behind the creation of the Celestials.

Even this current situation was only an internal matter that had been assumed.

But when I saw it in person the horror was indescribably miserable.

They are trampling on the ruins of angels who have dedicated themselves to humanity trampling on the lives and destinies of newborn infants and creating Celestials with terrible magic.

    “This is…..”

Heine also let out a sigh.

She like Azadin is hiding in the gearbox so she is in a position where you can’t see her consciousness directly. Nevertheless judging from the dark expression on her face she seems to have the talent to overcome blind spots like Azadin.

    “It’s a secret I can’t share with you.”

    “You think so?”

“It’s so shameful. It’s something that shouldn’t be known to the public.”

“If you hide it because you are ashamed isn’t that shameful to yourself?”

“…That may sound right but it is not the reality. Sir Azadin. What do you think these foolish people will think? Do you think they will think differently of you or the Order of Mercy and Courage just because you tell them the truth? And hiding your shameful parts is not hypocrisy it is common courtesy. Just as I was born naked I do not walk around naked but rather wear clothes with the bare minimum of courtesy.”

    “fizzle.”

Azadin signaled Heine to be quiet. Her voice was getting louder and louder as she got more excited. They wouldn’t hear much of the noise from the gearbox but it was still dangerous to be loud while they were infiltrating.

“So. Do you think Lord Jecht will be convinced if you don’t tell him anything? He’s not the type of person to just sit still if you don’t tell him anything.”

“I’ll dig a trap and kill him. If you send Lord Jecht to retrieve the angel’s egg I’ll have the Wisdom Order discover you and start a fight between Lord Jecht and the Wisdom Order. If you assassinate him during that time….”

Heine said so and looked at Azadin’s expression.

Azadin’s handsome face had a subtle sneer on it.

“Is that the courtesy you use to hide the shame you speak of? Sir Heine you must be a great pacifier.”

“Sir Azadin. I know you don’t want to get your hands dirty. It would be against the honor of a knight to tell even the slightest lie to Lord Jecht and set him up in a trap. However this is a secret that must never be revealed. If you help me the Benevolent Church the sponsor of our Benevolent Church will support you. It will be a much stronger support than your current sponsor Bishop Akenar. By the way you haven’t stated your affiliation yet. Bishop Akenar is a member of the Benevolent Church but he only cares about the external affairs of the church and doesn’t know much about the internal affairs.”

Heine tried to win over Azadin.

But all the promises she made were worthless to Azadin.

If he had wanted fame and fortune he would not have betrayed the Aragasa clan in the first place. He could have gotten his hands on Btuma and Korasar so why would he now seek such petty power?

Azadin’s indifferent attitude was also felt by Heine.

“Let’s take that spellbook first. That spellbook will be the proof that the Northern Emperor and the Church of Wisdom are destroying the statues of angels and sacrificing innocent human children to create Celestials.”

Azadin pointed to the spellbook created to conduct the ritual to reincarnate Count Dert into a Celestial.

Surely if I were just testifying to what happened here no one would believe me.

Even if you take the Angel’s Egg you will not be able to denounce the corruption of the Wisdom Church. Rather you will only be able to confess that another church has been hiding in the heart of the Wisdom Church and working in its favor.

However if it is a spellbook used in the Celestial Reincarnation Ritual it is a different story. The ritual procedure will be revealed by those who study magic and this ritual itself is their denial.

‘Certainly. This guy is from the messenger clan so he’s similar to us. Is he a spy?’

Heine wrote on Azadin’s palm impressed that Azadin had found the best piece of evidence at the scene.

Defeat the ritualists steal the scroll and escape back to the underpass.

When asked if that plan was correct Azadin nodded.

But just as Heine was coordinating his opinions with Azadin.

Suddenly the whole building started shaking.

    “Whoa!”

    “Hmm!”

The Angel of Corruption roared nearby causing the entire building to shake.

    “No what happened?”

“The angel of corruption is so close….”

“If we set the flame of guidance for the wandering souls the angels of corruption will not come our way…”

The Wandering Soul Flame of Guidance It was a necromancy that controlled the flow of the dead by planting false guidance that tempted the ghosts.

The Wisdom Order placed a necromancy spell on their underground passages so that the Angel of Corruption would not come to them and would attack others who approached the passage thus making them guardians of their underground passages.

But somehow the spell was broken.

    and….

    -Bang!

“Azadin! My father’s enemy! He is here!”

A wearbore wearing plate armor burst through the door and rushed in.

    “What the heck?!”

The magicians of the Wisdom Sect were perplexed.

The knight of the Order of Wisdom who was standing guard drew his sword and approached the Wearbore but the Wearbore laughed and charged.

    “100 million?!”

The first paladin was thrown upwards by the wearbore. Like a soldier hit by a battering ram the paladin slid across the ground and fell.

[Ah Captain. Can you hear me?!]

At that moment Scott’s voice was heard from within Azadin’s arms. Azadin took out a dried fish from a small rucksack and the dried fish head was speaking.

    It was Scott’s divination.

[The captain’s ardent fan chased after him and caused a big problem. At first Ject tried to keep the captain’s promise but that ardent fan said that he didn’t promise and instead cast a spell on that wearbore.]

“Was there some kind of necromancy in the basement? Something like the flames of the dead.”

[Oh. I released it! Lord Jecht is fighting the Angel of Corruption. Jibek and I are running away now.]

“Good job. Just get out and escape to the surface. I’ll see you at Van Dyke’s.”

Heine who was listening was astonished.

So the reason this commotion is happening now is… That wearbore is the one who chased after Azadin to kill him and Scott lifted the spell of the Wisdom Cult in the underpass to summon the Angel of Corruption. Also the reunion point is Vandyke’s Trading Company?

It’s really amazing that they decided to set the meeting point there without any hesitation even though Van Dyke Trading Company wouldn’t respond.

‘I should say that his improvisation is amazing. He is a man.’

Azadin never intended to create this situation. However in the midst of this extreme chaos Azadin calmly suggested a countermeasure and slowly stepped down from the gearbox…

    -puck!

He struck the unconscious priest in the stomach with his fist and snatched the scroll from his hands.

    “What the heck?! You?!”

    “You don’t need to know.”

After saying those words Azadin ran towards the wearbore Meiya.

    “You bastard!”

Maya swung her sword in anger but Azadin slid past her legs.

    “this!”

Heine noticed that Azadin was trying to escape on his own and started to move.

The scroll that Azadin took must not be leaked to anyone else. Only the Order of Mercy to which he belongs can properly handle the scroll. Otherwise if it were leaked to another organization it would be used as terrible evidence that would harm the entire Order.

Heine moved through the darkness to pursue Azadin.

    *********

The giant’s underground waters had turned into hell.

The three angels of corruption and the spectres they ruled were gathering.

Jecht raised the corpses around him with necromancy and breathed nether magic into them turning them into some sort of alien reaper and mutated the corpses with necromancy but surprisingly even though the Angel of Decay was dead it still had a strong resistance against the beings of the nether as if it were an angel.

“Oh my… I was overconfident in my abilities. No I guess I got caught up in the flow.”

Zect clicked his tongue and raised his sword.

Magical power swirls around his sword giving it a soft glow.

It’s weak. Today Zect has used up too much strength.

He deliberately pretended to be calm so as not to show weakness to Azadin and his group but it was a mistake to continue to do things with his own abilities without trustworthy subordinates.

Although Jecht also felt that he was being consumed he tried to show his strength as much as possible in front of Azadin who approached him calmly and so he ended up getting caught up in this situation.
