    #301. Avengers of Vengeance 4

She driven mad by whatever had happened aimed her flag at Azadin.

“Azadin! I challenge you to a duel! Even a man like you would accept a fair duel right?”

    “Yeah. You don’t like it?”

“Yeah so you became a member of the Knights anyway. Uh… what?”

For a moment Maya was flustered. No would it make sense to refuse in this case? She came to avenge her parents.

Besides she doesn’t recognize Azadin but didn’t she still join the Rescue Knights?

A guy who calls himself a knight of the Salvation Knights refuses to duel?

“First of all have you been sleeping well lately? You’re going to fight with disheveled hair and bloodshot eyes. What kind of nonsense are you talking about?”

“There’s no reason for you to care about my condition right?”

“No. In the first place you already challenged me in the past and lost and yet you escaped with your life. As for me I don’t want to stain my sword with such a suicidal act when an opponent whose victory or defeat I had already decided is exhausted and rushing at me.”

“You are my father’s enemy! I have the right to seek revenge! You a murderer have no right to refuse a duel!”

“Well? Didn’t your father already become a ghost knight in the King’s Church? Didn’t the King’s Church make your father a ghost knight because he admitted to the crime of accidentally killing civilians? Or what? Is the King’s Church a ruthless organization that desecrates the bodies of those who died honorably in the line of duty?”

    “Ugh…..”

Maya couldn’t find the words to respond to Azadin’s words.

To assert his father’s innocence would be to insult the King’s Church and to admit his father’s guilt would be to request a duel which would be an act of atrocity.

Every word of Azadin hit the nail on the head. Above all she was confused right now.

My memory is hazy as if there is fog in my head.

So I had nothing to say in response but my feelings were even more hurt.

“Don’t make me laugh. Do you think you can get out of this situation with your three-inch tongue?”

“But isn’t that true? It was Lord Jecht who made your father a ghost knight. Isn’t that right?”

    “No that’s… ugh.”

Maya suddenly clutched her head and staggered.

It was unusual for her who was at least neat enough to be the head of the Diocese of Salasma to have disheveled hair and stagger like a madwoman. Azadin’s words stimulated her madness and anger by sawing it off.

“This won’t do. Stop doing useless things and get back and rest. I’ve already sent a messenger to Lord Jecht. He won’t run away or hide so get some rest and come back. Or you can come and attack together with Lord Jecht.”

Azadin motioned for Maya to step aside.

But at that moment a flash of light suddenly appeared before Azadin’s eyes.

It’s a stab with terrifying momentum.

Maya stabbed Azadin with the flag she was holding.

The flag has a small formal spearhead at the end but is not intended for combat use.

It’s already a flag that flaps in the wind so if you put a battle spear on it it’ll be too heavy to handle.

However… even if it is a ceremonial blade and not a real one it is a different story if it stabs this fast and hard.

Azadin was startled and twisted his body to avoid the attack.

Maya saw Azadin staggering as he let his guard down and continued to stab the flags at him.

    “Eww!”

    “Whoa!”

Other pedestrians passing by the bridge were startled and there was chaos. Azadin used his hand to swat away the flag spear flying towards his neck…

    -Thud!

With a loud crash the foot that Azadin was supporting broke through the bridge deck and became embedded in it.

    “Ugh?!”

A tremendous force was transmitted from the spear attempting to damage Azadin’s body.

Azadin tried to let go of the shock but ended up stamping hard on the floor crushing his foot and embedding it in his leg.

‘What? Why did you grow so quickly? Did you drink dragon’s blood while I wasn’t looking?’

Azadin was startled by Maya’s suddenly stronger attack and tried to pull away.

    “Die!”

Maya took advantage of the opening and tried to close the distance and strike down Azadin.

But then Azadin’s left hand was extended.

    -Booooow!

In Azadin’s grasp Grimslow’s club or rather his axe spins.

The axe spun in the air like a windmill and the axe-headed blue executioner made of Azuresteel transformed into a disc of light.

The disc of light shot out and struck Meiya’s sword striking her with the back of the axe handle.

    -Ouch!

    “ah.”

I tried to deal with it non-lethally but it hit me too hard.

Azadin was confused as to whether he had killed Maya…

    “flaw? ”

Maya smiled faintly even though blood was dripping from her head.

Even a bear let alone a human would have been shocked by the blow just now but surprisingly the human survived the brutal attack.

    ‘This isn’t human?’

Azadin took advantage of the gap and stepped back.

    “Father’s enemy!”

Maya screamed loudly and swung her spear and sword at Azadin.

Disregarding the rules of swordsmanship spears and swords rain down like a storm.

Azadin the executioner of Qing blocked the attack but his hands were numb and paralyzed.

‘How can this be? Even if my Kajas has weakened why am I being pushed back like this?’

At that moment Azadin realized that Maya’s body in front of him had grown in size.

The leather straps connecting the plate armor were opening with a creaking sound.

As the muscles inside her body grew larger the armor could not hold up and she screamed.

And that’s not all? Before she knew it wiry reddish-brown hairs had begun to sprout on her smooth face.

    “Wild boar human??”

Maya transformed into a large boar-like human werewolf and used its power to corner Azadin.

Azadin was flustered as he parried away Maya’s reckless attacks.

I understand why she came here in such an inhuman form.

    but….

‘It’s not like I became stronger because I became a wearbore?’

Among Azadin’s subordinates was Legion a half-elf and werewolf. From my experience of facing Legion I can say that Meiya is stronger than Legion. In other words Meiya’s strength was more than just being a werewolf.

Azadin drew his ceramite longsword Aurelia Dawn. He used it to deflect Meiya’s spear as it struck him then brought the blade up to strike her under the armpit.

And then turn your body around…

    -Crunch!

Maya’s arm was cut off and she flew into the sky. Those who lack experience in losing their minds and launching a blind attack may get excited and end up getting killed without being able to show off their skills.

However Azadin was already a man who was used to fighting all kinds of monsters.

    “Ugh…..”

Maya grabbed his arm and placed it on his wound to stop the bleeding.

The wounded area will not regenerate immediately because it is burned by the flames of the ceramite longsword but the bleeding will stop quickly. If you hold it like that even your arm will recover enough to move again.

But even if he was a wearbore he couldn’t fight in this state.

“I killed my father with my own hands so I thought it would be too much to send my daughter to my own hands so I let her go… but becoming a wearbore is going too far.”

Azadin had a clear set of rules when it came to permanently damaging or killing his opponents. Up until now Meiya had not crossed that line and killed anyone but becoming a wearbore definitely crossed the line. There was no guarantee that Azadin would not kill and eat civilians without being seen.

    “You bastard…..”

Maya grimaced as she watched Azadin approach her with his sword drawn to cut off her neck. The wound where her arm was cut off had already stopped bleeding due to the terrifying vitality of the wearbore but she was in no condition to fight.

The shock she felt from the severed arm and the nerves in her body was still shaking her. The lights were flickering before her eyes making it difficult to see things.

    But then an arrow flew.

Azadin swatted away the arrow flying towards him but the arrow was enchanted.

The terrifying magical power of the Hwanghak of the Flower Bird Wind and Moon paralyzed Azadin’s arm and pushed him in trying to stab his neck.

Azadin turned his head to dodge the arrow and flew backwards.

    “No really?”

Meanwhile one of the shots hit Azadin’s hippogriff Firewinter.

    Kkeeek!

As Firewinter went wild Scott who was riding on top fell and chaos ensued.

Taking advantage of the gap Wearbore Maya flew away with her severed arm. And in her stead the assassins of the Herald Clan appeared on the bridge.

“Traitor of the clan! Azadin! Prepare yourself!”

“I will kill you and take revenge on those who interfered with my clan’s long-cherished desire!”

    “…Are you kidding?”

Azadin clicked his tongue as he watched the young messengers of the lower ranks rushing forward.

There are so many people who regard Azadin as their enemy that those who want revenge will have to discuss it among themselves and decide on the order of priority.

    *********

Azadin’s existence was bound to become famous.

The fact that someone who left the Herald Clan known as the mysterious God-King Slayer and the Soulless Blasphemer and joined the Knights of Salvation is enough to make his name known throughout the world.

But after that Azadin’s actions were truly bizarre.

Azadin recovered the sword Aurelia Dunn from the death knight Sir Planck and had Bishop Achenar of Coxhal as his patron.

And in the Chadra Plateau he defeated or subdued one after another the famous people of his time so the Hosa could not possibly leave Azadin alone.

Rumors of Azadin were now spreading throughout the world and for the Herald Clan it was an insult to have the traitor who had betrayed their long-held goal being talked about so much.

There was already a lower-level organization of the messenger clan called the Vandyke Company in the Chadra Plateau but the branch manager of the Vandyke Company sent his opinion that he was not capable of dealing with Azadin with his own abilities.

How dare you not touch the great sinner of your clan? But many of the messenger clans have already been defeated by Azadin making it difficult to punish the Chadra branch for its incompetence.

Since the previous leader Hatir was killed by Azadin it would be impossible to punish the branch manager of Vandyke Trading Company who is not even a messenger for failing to do anything about Azadin who has grown into a warlord in the Chadra Plateau.

Instead they sent a squad of assassins to assassinate Azadin when he left the Chadra Plateau.

However the Herald Clan was also short on talent due to the chaos occurring all over the world so these assassins were lower in rank and less experienced than Azadin.

They also thought that it would be difficult to subdue Azadin with their own strength so they jumped in after seeing Lord Maya attack Azadin and drain his strength.

“Everyone be careful! Even if it’s Azadin from Muan he’s already killed the former leader Hatir…”

“But is it really true? I saw that guy when I was a trainee and he was acting like that back then too.”

These assassins who were lower in rank than Azadin surrounded Azadin on three sides and fired arrows.
