    #291. Celestial Fire 5

‘It’s not hard to help but should I show you my skills?’

Azadin loaded an arrow into his bow and watched the situation unfold.

Aramis continued to advance killing the Bridles who blocked his way regardless of whether he was surrounded or not.

However compared to the beginning they were clearly losing their breakthrough power. In the first place it was not easy for cavalry to fully break through in the forested terrain.

The trees are stretching their branches to head height and the road is bumpy. If you run as fast as you can and trip over a rock your life is in danger.

Moreover Bree’s leaping power was so great that when the Bree soldier kicked the ground he jumped to the height of Aramis’ head on horseback.

They had physical abilities that were on a completely different level from those of human soldiers who would crumble to pieces if you just trampled them.

While Aramis was busy striking the Bree soldiers on the ground he was unable to retrieve his sword in time so the Bree soldiers who had risen into the air swung their staghorn axes at Aramis’ head.

It was a truly life-or-death moment! But Aramis just laughed.

    “joy!”

Pure white shining wings sprouted from Aramis’ back and slashed away the rushing Bree soldiers.

And he began casting spells to attack the Bridle and rescue the villagers.

    “…good!”

Azadin fired arrows to attack Bridle and gave instructions to the other knights.

“Cavalry! Split into left and right wings and attack Bridle and save the villagers! Infantry! To the center!”

“Why should we listen to you….”

    “Firewinter! Come here!”

When Azadin called the hippogriff the hippogriff came closer growling.

As the hippogriff approaches the horse is startled and runs forward.

Only then did the knights split into left and right and form a charging formation.

Azadin stepped forward firing arrows to support Aramis.

Since Aramis had already broken through and passed by the large group of Breeds was swept away without much resistance.

The physical abilities of the Bree were clearly superior to those of humans. However their weapons were made up of only antlers obsidian and farming tools captured from farmers and were no match for properly armed soldiers.

If they collided with metal weapons the Bridle’s weapons would inevitably break and most attacks would be blocked by the armor the soldiers wore.

Moreover the soldiers brought to Aramis were quite well trained which made that point stand out even more.

They were people who knew how to fight in a way that highlighted their own strengths and highlighted their enemy’s weaknesses.

The bridle unable to hold out any longer retreats.

“Do not let the cursed ones live!”

Aramis continued his pursuit striking Bridle from behind as he fled.

However Breeds move faster than humans so they cannot be pursued without cavalry.

Aramis who had been chasing for some time had no choice but to stop his horse in front of a bush.

    *********

    “Oh my god!”

    “You are an angel!”

    “Angels saved us!”

The village refugees cheered loudly for Aramis who rescued them.

    “Don’t be afraid!”

Aramis responded to the cheers of the people raising his sword high and showing off his shining wings.

The blazing ceramite longsword and the translucent white wings that caught the light and shone like shards of glass overwhelmed the people making them look like a scene from an old tale.

Some refugees even came out to the ground kneeling praying and worshiping.

It is only natural that everyone is moved when a being of angelic blood with angel wings jumps out like a scene from an old tale to save people and drive out evil spirits.

‘So this is the power of the Celestial Fire Knights.’

Azadin licked his lips at the sight of the excited crowd.

Contrary to the excitement of the people Azadin was calmly assessing Aramis’ abilities.

First of all I don’t like the conducting.

It’s fine to rush into enemy territory as a commander. There aren’t enough troops to just wave a flag at the strongest knight and have fun.

But then wouldn’t it be clear who to entrust the follow-up command to?

Since no one was there Azadin had no choice but to take command but of course the knights rebelled because he did not formally hand over command to Aramis.

Eventually Azadin had to use the hippogriff to drive them out.

If Aramis hadn’t been so diligently cared for from behind he would have had a hard time in the middle of enemy territory even though he was a Celestial.

‘Well if you have the skills and the will to save people and have the appearance that you would come out of a fairy tale you’ve earned your keep. Would it be too much to ask for you to show off your experience in commanding?’

As Azadin pondered such thoughts Sir Sutton a local knight began to speak with the refugees.

    “Sir Aramis!”

“Yes Lord Sutton. What is it?”

“I heard that the Bree guys are raiding and looting the village’s food storage. It seems like their goal is to loot food!”

Currently with Fimbulbert suspected the Knights Templar are demanding food supplies from various places. However Breedle is taking advantage of this gap to begin organized food pillaging.

Fimbulbert would be harsh even for the demons so they would probably try to secure as much food as possible before then.

But on the other hand it is a deadly threat to humans that is absolutely unacceptable.

‘They are working on a fairly mid- to long-term strategy. I guess we should look at it that way.’

Azadin had assessed that Bridle had been out raiding at this time but Aramis’ answer came out immediately without much thought.

“Okay. Let’s go rescue them right now! Retake the village and drive out the Breeds!”

When Aramis declared that the village would be recaptured the villagers were thrown into a frenzy of excitement.

Aramis turned his horse and returned to Azadin.

“Sir Azadin. Will you join us?”

“We don’t have any other plans so let’s go together. I’m also worried about those things called Bree.”

Azadin decided to stay with Aramis to observe his character further.

    *********

“But I thought you’d just charge from the sky with a hippogriff.”

“Yeah. What are we doing pushing forward? That guy?”

“Maybe they are trying to consume us?”

The other knights were dissatisfied with Azadin.

Even though Azadin explained that hippogriffs were not creatures that could fly so easily they were still suspicious of Azadin.

‘These guys? If I hadn’t kicked them out they would have just sucked their thumbs and watched from behind… I’ve also defeated the most enemies. These guys.’

Azadin sighed when he heard their complaints.

Azadin charged his knights and fired arrows from behind maintaining the offensive advantage at the right time.

However it is a feat that can only be appreciated when viewed from the rear with a wide field of view.

Most of the knights only remember their own fights and think that Azadin was playing around behind the scenes.

“Understood. This time I’ll charge first. It’ll be a little different than you think because of the hippogriff’s flight characteristics.”

“Sir Azadin will you charge first? Very well. This time I will yield the vanguard to you.”

Aramis ignored the other knights’ gossip about Azadin and answered with a bright smile. He seemed to be intoxicated by the glory of battle after his recent exploits.

“Okay. You scratch once and then you go away. Then when I scratch a second time you guys charge in too. Got it?”

    “i get it.”

    “then.”

Azadin mounted his hippogriff and headed towards the village.

Before that I tried to send Arael’s voice to check on the situation in the village but the magic spread throughout the forest interfered with Arael’s voice.

‘Is it because of Breedle’s magic? Arael’s voice doesn’t work properly. The weapons are barbaric but the plunder itself is very systematic? The power behind these guys must be much bigger. If you let your guard down you could get in big trouble.’

Azadin himself ascended the hippogriff’s altitude and examined the village with his own eyes.

The village was left with only a puff of white smoke after the fire had been extinguished.

It seemed that the Bridles had been busy putting out the fires in the village and had begun to loot.

‘The military discipline has been properly established. Good. Then…’

Azadin guided the hippogriff towards the retreat route behind the village and began to glide from there.

    As altitude decreases speed increases.

Then while they were looting Bridle discovered Azadin.

    “Keeeek!?”

    “Wow!”

They communicated among themselves in screams that the Breeds could not understand.

But before they could respond Azadin charged from the road behind the village kicking Breedle in the back with the hippogriff’s hind legs and sending him flying again.

At the same time Azadin shot an arrow from above the hippogriff knocking it down.

Thanks to the arrows he received from Aramis’ soldiers even ordinary steel arrows could fill the talisman so he poured them out without sparing any effort.

‘Okay! The first lesson was fine…’

Azadin attempted to gain altitude to launch a second assault.

But then suddenly a pure white spider web shot out from below and wrapped around Azadin and the hippogriff.

    “Ugh?!”

A spider web flew in from an unexpectedly high place.

The web was not cast by a sorcerer on the ground but was shot from the top of a tree planted at the entrance to the village.

Azadin panicked quickly drew his ceramite longsword and cut the spider web but the hippogriff was losing his balance.

    “Damn it! Firewinter!”

Azadin jumped down from the hippogriff and swung his ceramite longsword cutting through the webs.

Fortunately the ceramite longsword had a self-flaming property so it would melt the spider webs just by getting near them.

The hippogriff barely managed to escape the spiderweb’s shackles and flew into the air avoiding crashing into the ground.

But the problem is that Azadin landed on the ground.

The Breedles lunge at Azadin their horns on their heads leading the way.

    “what?”

Azadin raised his ceramite longsword and intercepted the flying horns twisting them around.

The neck of the Bree soldier who was struck without thinking twists and his feet lift off the ground.

Azadin threw the charging Bree soldier aside and kicked him as he hit the ground.

Another Bree soldier stabbed Azadin with a spear he had fashioned from a bundle of knives but Azadin struck the crude spear’s body with his forearm and stabbed Bree in the lower abdomen with his ceramite longsword.

    -Thud! Thud! Swish!

The Bree soldiers who had been charging forward with great momentum were eliminated one by one by Azadin’s single attack.

Then Breedle also realized that Azadin was not easy and could not rush in recklessly.

He jumped in with the intention of finishing off the fallen knight but instead of hurting his opponent he ended up killing his comrades one by one.

‘Oh shit. What are those knights doing?’

Even though Azadin is behind enemy lines there is no news from Aramis.

‘I told you to come in after I taught you twice but shouldn’t you come in now?’

As Azadin was thinking that a large rock suddenly flew towards Azadin’s head.

It is not a stone that a normal human can throw weighing at least 20 stones.

A boulder that should have been launched from a catapult came flying at Azadin at a fierce speed.
