    #274.Ceramite 4

    “Ah! Pain! This sweet pain!”

Even though Sok was in pain from burning his own body he felt joy.

“I’ve forgotten for a long time! The cold and heat of the flesh! Pain! As expected the sacred flames of the ceramite cause pain even to the lich! How fun! Yes. This is the level of skill that should be achieved!”

“…There’s plenty of room? It’s an orc so it has a big body but if it’s like that it won’t last long right?”

Sir Sok’s head was cut off and Aurelia Dunn’s liquefied sword was stuck to his body burning his flesh.

Aurelia Dunn continued to burn and the heat caused even the surface of her armor to burn and hiss.

Even though more than half of his body was already burning Sir Sok cast the spell with a leisurely smile.

“First of all I’ll give this back!”

At that moment Aurelia Dunn was thrown out of Sir Sok’s body.

As the hot liquid metal flew away Azadin immediately pulled out the hilt of Aurelia Dunn’s sword and used it to block the pouring liquid metal.

The sword was formed again and Aurelia Dunn returned to her original form…

    “haha!”

Sir Sok ran up and stabbed Azadin with his sword. It was very bizarre to see him running up to him with a smile even though half of his body was burned and he was staggering around strangely losing his balance.

The moment Azadin who had not yet recovered his sword dodged the sword Sir Sok’s kick struck Azadin’s body.

    “Azadin!”

Selim was shocked but Azadin flew straight up and landed on the chandelier in the hallway.

The power of Sir Sok’s kick was countered by jumping on it.

“Haha! That’s amazing! I looked down on you too much. Now I’ll treat you properly.”

Sok lifted his head in admiration and placed it back on his neck.

“You’ve been getting beat up so far? Isn’t that too much of a bluff? If you were a normal human you would have died five times already.”

Azadin laughed but he could feel the mood in Lord Sok’s eyes changing.

In fact just from what he had just faced Sir Sok could be said to be the most overwhelmingly powerful opponent Azadin had ever faced.

“Don’t worry Sir Azadin. I wanted to fully experience your skills. I admit that your swordsmanship and martial arts are superior to mine. However I am a magician by nature.”

Sir Sok said so and cast the spell.

Magical runes appeared and disappeared around his body.

    “Let’s do it right!”

Red glowing stars appeared around Sir Sok’s body.

    -Crimson starlight!

The red star fired a red beam at Azadin.

A startled Azadin shook the chandelier and somersaulted himself to avoid the beams.

“Wouldn’t it be dangerous if we spread the distance?!”

    “No need to advise me!”

Azadin used the Flower-Bird-Pung-Wol-Earth Spider to teleport again in an instant and struck Lord Sok’s neck and arm with his sword.

    however….

    -Repost shock!

The moment the sword struck Sir Sok’s body a field of force formed around his body and an electric shock struck Azadin.

    “Ugh?!”

The moment the lightning of the counterattack paralyzed Azadin Lord Sok turned around and swung his sword at Azadin.

Since it was an unavoidable situation I used Aurelia Dunn to block the sword.

    -Boom!

As Azadin’s body crashed into the wall as if it had been launched from some kind of catapult the claws of the wights shot out from beyond the dark wall and clawed at Azadin’s back and neck.

Azadin blocked the attack with the cloth armor he was wearing but some of the claws scratched Azadin’s cheek drawing blood.

In the darkness White’s eyes were shining and he was delighted as he licked the blood from his fingernails with his red tongue.

    “Ahhh! I can’t stand it!”

    “How sweet!”

    “…Ugh!”

Azadin stood up and slashed the whites approaching him with Aurelia Dawn.

But the condition is not good.

Azadin’s body couldn’t withstand just blocking a direct hit from Sir Sok’s attack.

“I understand you are hungry but don’t treat your guests like that. After all you are the famous master of prophecy from the Order of the Salvation.”

Sir Sok walks towards Azadin with a smile.

“Didn’t you decide to fight without your subordinates?”

“But Dahlia likes you. How about becoming my subordinate and taking her as my wife?”

    “Damn it! Sir Azadin!”

Selim tries to jump in to help Azadin but the claws of the wights come out of the darkness and aim for Selim.

Selim fights back against them by swinging his axe but darkness envelops Selim’s body as well and his reactions are noticeably slowed.

On the other hand the Whites disappeared into the darkness and moved like mist itself cutting down Selim with their sharp claws.

    “These things!”

Selim was headbutting the wights and smashing them with his axe but the wights’ attacks were also hitting Selim and wounding him.

The problem was that these whites were playing in the dark.

To begin with in this darkness Lord Sok and his men were virtually invincible.

It was wrong to fight here in the first place.

‘I was so stupid… I underestimated you because you had been so successful! I should have known the reputation of the Fimbul Horde!’

Azadin cast a spell as he watched Sir Sok approaching him.

It was a spell to dispel magic.

There’s no way to deal with him unless we remove the repost shock spell flowing through Sir Sok’s body.

Sir Sok also held out his finger and countered Azadin’s spell as he cast it.

Since Sir Sok’s magical skills were several levels higher than Azadin’s Azadin’s dispel spell was easily broken.

In fact even if the dispel spell was not blocked it would have been impossible to dispel Lord Sok’s magic with Azadin’s dispel spell anyway.

Nevertheless it must have been just for fun for Sir Sok to counter Azadin’s magic with counterspells.

“You’re very talented. Your magic is more sophisticated than that of even the most expert scholars. Yes. You need to be at least this skilled to be a Knight of Fate! Hmm?”

But then a strange smoke began to flow in.

It was the smoke of incense burning something different from the fog of this swampy place called Biar.

    “Keeeek?!”

The whites took in the smoke and started to back away in shock.

It is clear that something mixed in the spices exerts a strong influence on them.

    *********

And a bright voice echoed throughout Sir Sok’s mansion.

“I never would have guessed that there would be a suicidal man coming to the Viar Swamp to fight against Lord Sok Sir Azadin.”

A young man jumped down and landed between Azadin and Sok.

A woman wearing a black nun’s habit stood in front of Azadin.

Although her eyes were closed she was a beautiful woman with neat features and androgynous appearance.

“Ah. Niselda. You’ve come to my domain at just the right time. Today is a very lucky day.”

This nun was the half-vampire Niselda the last of the Chadra O’Galls.

She slowly opened her eyes burning incense from a censer entwined with a gold chain. Blood flowed from her eyes.

“I am troubled by your thinking of me as a beast held captive in your shack. The darkness of Viar gives me strength Lord Sok. I too have cursed blood.”

As she lifted the censer the blood flowing from her eyes fell onto the censer and soaked it.

    -Cheek!

The blood vapor quickly began to consume the smoke.

Following the smoke from the incense burner the blood vapor moved at a terrifying speed connecting red threads all around.

Isn’t that red thread connected to the limbs of the Whites and to Lord Sok’s body?

    “This is…..”

    “I’m going.”

As Niselda raised her right hand towards the sky her right hand exploded and blood spread out in red threads.

The whites are startled and run away.

However Sir Sok cast a spell on the blood rushing towards him.

Bone blades erupted from the ground cutting through the red thread and exploding in blood instead.

“It’s a poor attack considering it only took off one arm Niselda.”

    “But it was enough.”

    “huh?”

At that moment the roof and windows of the mansion suddenly shattered and griffins appeared.

“To defeat your demons that defend the skies.”

Niselda said so and jumped towards Azadin.

Although she was practically a corpse due to the large amount of blood she consumed she possessed incredible strength and was able to surround Azadin as lightly as a feather.

    “Oh no! Me!”

“You escape on your own Sir Selim! It’s too heavy to lift!”

    “Oh really! Kids!”

The griffins rush in and attack the wights some of them flying at Selim with their talons.

Niselda also mounted the griffin with Azadin on her back and flew into the sky.

    “Oh my… how cheeky.”

As Sir Sok used his spell a red star’s light flew in and hit the griffins.

    -Keeeeeek!

The griffins scream and fall down as desiccated corpses.

But even in such a situation these griffins calmly protected Azadin and Selim with their bodies.

Cedrin was controlling the griffin with magic.

    “Huh!? Oh my kids!”

Selim was saddened to see his children the griffins dying from the magic of Lord Sok.

    ‘shit.’

Azadin remained silent as he watched the griffins fall to the spells of Lord Sok.

Since being saved by Arael’s sacrifice Azadin has had no rivals.

    Was that why?

I was too complacent knowing full well the infamy of the Fimbul Horde and the reputation of Lord Sok.

‘It was a mistake to take it too lightly and rush it.’

Conduct reconnaissance and if possible suppress them on the spot through improvisation.

If it succeeds it is a great on-the-spot response but if it fails it remains a reckless defeat.

    *********

By the time they left the Viar Swamp the number of griffins had dwindled to two.

Even after they left the magical range of Lord Sok flying monsters such as Shadow Wings and Undead Wyverns appeared and threatened the griffins.

After barely escaping the Biar Swamp the place we arrived at was the residence of the Black Forest Wild Druid Cedrin.

In this black forest directly connected to the Biar Swamp Sedrin was waiting for Azadin and his party.

“Ugh. Sedrin! Who told you to treat my children like that?!”

“You saved a drowning man and now you’re asking for his bundle. Do you think you’d be here alive now if the Griffins hadn’t risked their lives?”

    “…Sedrin.”

As Azadin got down from the griffin he rolled on the ground unable to support his own body.

His body was in shambles. Azadin was completely battered by the attacks of Sir Sok and the Wights.

“The fame of the Fimbul Horde must have spread far beyond the Chadra Plateau so it was reckless of the two of us to invade alone.”

She carefully cast a spell on Azadin.

It was a regeneration spell based on green magic.

“When I asked you to go together in the first place no one went! Sedrin! Didn’t you refuse too? And now you’re treating me like an idiot when we went alone!”

Selim was now furious at Sedrin for accusing him of being reckless.

“I’m not trying to treat you like an idiot. I….”

Sedrin let out a long sigh and looked at Azadin.

    “hmm?”

Azadin blinked at Sedrin’s gaze which seemed to have something to say.
