‘More than anything these elf undead are not ordinary.’

Azadin was observing the cold chill coming from Dahlia.

She was looking at Azadin with eyes full of desire. It was a very attractive gaze but it was unclear whether it was a gaze longing for Azadin’s love or a gaze longing to devour Azadin’s flesh and blood.

“Ahh. You are so young and beautiful. Hehehe. I can smell the sweet smell of your blood from here.”

    “When will you arrive?”

    “They’re all here now.”

The carriage climbed up the hill. Countless trees blocked the road making it seem as if it would be impossible to pass. But then suddenly the fog cleared away. Before we knew it the carriage had arrived in the front yard of a large mansion.

The mansion of Lord Soak revealed its grand and eerie appearance.

    “Okay then this way.”

Dahlia smiled and guided Azadin and his party to Lord Sok.

    *********

The entrance to the mansion is decorated with various works of art that you would expect to see in an aristocratic mansion in a big city.

Sculptures paintings and gilded frames speak volumes about the wealth of the mansion’s owner.

But a dreary black aura swirled around and will-o’-the-wisps floated about. The pale light of the will-o’-the-wisps gave the mansion a splendid yet dreary and faded feeling.

In the lobby at the entrance to the mansion servants were already lined up.

It shows male and female elves dressed in neat matching attire.

    “These are?”

“They are all servants of Lord Sok.”

    Dahlia speaks proudly.

As the servants and maids opened their eyes blue will-o’-the-wisps began to flicker in their eyes.

    ‘It’s wight.’

All the elves here including Dahlia had become cursed dead wights.

Judging from their resemblance to Sedrin and their similar tattoos they are probably Sedrin’s blood relatives.

Now I understand why Sedrin wanted to subdue Lord Sok in exchange for his loyalty.

It would be unpleasant if one’s own blood relatives were turned into whites and used as servants by Lord Sok.

But then the bell started ringing on the second floor.

“Our great master Lord Sok who has overcome even death has come.”

A heavy footsteps approach accompanied by an eerie bell sound.

    *********

    -thud!

    The stairs are creaking.

That would be the case since Sir Sok was a gigantic man barely larger than Selim the Minotaur which was impossible for a human to have.

That huge creature is clad in plate armor so it must be incredibly heavy.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. Please understand if my hospitality isn’t up to standard.”

Sir Sok said this and took off his helmet in front of Azadin.

It was the appearance of a muscular orc with thick fangs protruding from his lips.

It was easy to tell that he was not alive as his body seemed lifeless and his eyes looked pale.

‘There are orcs… and undead minotaurs. Even though the members are so diverse why did you oppose me so much when I joined the Rescue Knights?’

Azadin felt a sense of injustice seeing so many strange members in the Rescue Knights.

“Yes. You are Sir Azadin. How surprising. How could you bring Sir Selim with you? And Sir Selim’s head is….”

Sir Sok’s gaze turned to Selim’s dehorned head.

Both of Selim’s proud horns were cut off exposing ugly scars.

    “What brings you here?”

“Are you Lord Sok? Actually I have a request from the forester Sedrin of the Black Forest. He wants you to return the bodies of your kin.”

“Ah is this Sedrin’s request? If it were up to me I would like to grant it. However….”

When Sok gestured to Dahlia Dahlia smiled and shook her head.

“As you can see the parties involved are opposed.”

    The white elves were smiling.

Their smiles as if they were so satisfied with their current life seemed like they were wearing masks.

Azadin smiled bitterly at Sir Sok’s outburst.

Unlike mindless zombies or other undead Wights are distorted monsters that resemble living humans. They are able to maintain their appearances similar to those in life because they periodically suck human blood. Just by looking like their appearances in life Wights are able to continue killing.

“On that point Sedrin says that they are distorted by necromancy and cannot make correct judgments?”

“If you make such a claim you should also provide evidence to support it. If someone claims that you are crazy how can you claim that you are of sound mind?”

“Of course if someone is in good health it would be rude to call them crazy. But if there are bottles of alcohol lying around and the pungent smell of alcohol wafting in the air wouldn’t it be reasonable to question their sanity?”

“Haha. You’re good at talking. Be honest with me. Did Sedrin ask you to subdue me?”

“It is only natural since you are carrying the corpses of the Sedrin clan. She heard that you harmed your clan to obtain their corpses.”

“That’s a story that could easily be misunderstood. But it doesn’t matter if you misunderstand.”

At that moment the appearance of the elf servants changed.

In an instant it transformed from its neat and beautiful appearance not much different from its appearance in life into a bloodthirsty evil spirit. It mutated into a monstrosity with protruding teeth a bright red tongue bloodshot eyes and sharp beast-like claws.

Dahlias also changed like that that was their true nature.

Whites were living spirits who thirsted for the blood and life of the living. That was their essence.

“The Shade Hags have put a bounty on your head Lord Azadin.”

“Are you trying to fight? I’m fine with it.”

    Azadin picked up Aurelia Dunn.

The sword is burning and emitting a golden light but…

Dense fog and darkness suddenly rolled in from all directions.

The inside of the mansion was covered in darkness and only the whites and the naturalization of Lord Sok were shining.

The light emitted by Azadin’s sword is shrouded in darkness and cannot be seen properly.

    “Huh?!”

Selim pulled out his axe and looked around but the whites who had dispersed and regrouped were looking at them from all directions licking their lips.

“Well raiding like this is no fun right? They’re guests who came to my mansion on their own so it doesn’t seem cool to suppress them with our numerical superiority. I’ll deal with them myself.”

Suddenly part of the darkness cleared and Sir Sok stepped forward towards Azadin.

“Azadin the Emperor’s messenger and the last knight to receive the Order of the Planck of Wisdom.”

    “Did you know that too?”

“The Shade Hags told me. Ha… What makes you different from me that you have earned this honor?”

    “….”

Surprisingly the emotion that Sir Sok showed towards Azadin was jealousy.

He was jealous of Azadin for being the protagonist of Sir Planck’s prophecy.

‘I never thought my life would be the object of someone’s envy.’

It was a life with more pain than pleasure.

But even that might be something to be jealous of for the undead in front of you.

“Where shall I show you? The power of the Knight of Destiny?”

“Even if you don’t like it you’ll still have to watch it?”

Azadin rushed forward and swung his sword at Sok.

A lightning-quick strike aimed for Sok’s neck but Sok did not dodge and instead stabbed Azadin with his sword.

Regardless of whether it’s swordsmanship or not if the undead Sok and Azadin fight each other the living Azadin will suffer a loss.

    ‘hmm!’

Of all the monsters Azadin has faced this is the one who knows its own characteristics the best.

But Azadin deflected Lord Sok’s sword and aimed for his neck.

    -Chi-ik!

    Azadin’s feet slipped.

    ‘this….’

Sir Sok’s power is stronger than expected!

    Moreover Azadin’s power was weakening.

Azadin’s strength is the result of the synergy of his own physical strength and the magical power of Kazas.

But this darkness was hindering Azadin’s magic power.

“Wow. He is truly the Knight of Destiny.”

Sir Sok admired the mark left by Azadin’s sword that had struck his own armor’s neckguard.

Azadin’s sword only slightly scratched the thick armor.

‘Damn that armor is so strong. Aurelia Dunn is so soft.’

If it were an Azure Steel longsword it would be a different story but the blade of a Ceramite longsword is soft. If it were normal Azadin he could destroy that armor with Aurelia Dawn but now that the darkness all around is interfering with Azadin’s magic it would be a bit difficult.

“Is that all? Show me more. Azadin. Herald of the Emperor and Knight of Destiny!”

“Stop calling me by that fancy name! Sir Sok!”

Azadin lifted Aurelia Dunn and lunged again.

Sok chanted the spell and raised his left hand toward the ground then swung it at Azadin as if he was rolling a ball.

A blade of bone forms along the ground and rushes towards Azadin.

Azadin jumped over it and instantly used the Flower-Bird-Pung-Wol Land Spider to change the angle of approach.

    -Kang!

From behind Azadin’s blade aimed for Sok’s neck but Sok raised his arm and blocked Azadin’s attack.

    “Great talent but sadly….”

    “Burn!”

Aurelia Dunn cut Sok off her golden eyes glowing.

The flames boiled up in an instant melting the blade. The liquefied fire ran down Lord Sok’s arm and struck his entire body.

Golden flames like hot lead burn Sok’s body.

    “Kuaaaah!”

Sok began to scream and thrash.

A golden opportunity to attack! However Azadin’s Aurelia Dawn’s blade has turned into liquid metal burning Sok’s body.

Azadin quickly raised his Moon Bow drew the bowstring and fired a shot at Sok’s head heart and waist which were the center of the attack.

The bullet penetrated the armor and lodged deeply.

    “Okay. Azure Steel works well!”

Azadin picked up the Azuresteel dagger and attempted to strike the finishing blow at Lord Sok.

    But it’s strange.

    ‘Are your subordinates well behaved?’

The whites just watch as Sir Sok screams in pain.

Is this not a threat to Sok Kyung?

‘You said it was a lich right? It’s clearly an immortal being whose life is hidden somewhere else so it won’t die from the attack now. But it doesn’t seem like it would welcome its body being destroyed right?’

Azadin wary of Sok hung his Azuresteel dagger on the bowstring drew his bow and fired.

The Azuresteel dagger flew quickly and stuck itself into Lord Sok’s neck.

And then Azadin’s kick struck the hilt of the Azuresteel dagger tearing off Lord Sok’s head.

    “Ugh!”

Sir Sok whose throat was cut off screams and staggers.

    “Ugh… Ahahahahahahaha.”

But didn’t Sir Sok’s body which had been staggering suddenly start spinning around as if dancing and laughing?
