    #269.Chadra’s Loser 7

Although a familiar name came up Azadin was not surprised.

Bishop Sehnat was the one who had appointed Sir Pavel as the head of the investigation team to try to steal Izmila away.

It was in some ways inevitable that his name would come up this time.

Azadin nodded in understanding as the big picture of these circumstantial evidences were being pieced together one by one.

    “Is it Bishop Sehnat?”

“Yes. Bishop Sehnath realized that there were spies planted by evil forces in the church so he gave me the mission to raise hippogriffs and deliver them to the chosen ones.”

    “what?”

Azadin sensed from Selim’s reaction that he had interpreted Azadin’s admiration differently.

Selim has no doubt that Bishop Sehnat’s intentions are good.

That is why Azadin’s admiration upon hearing the name of Bishop Sehnat was considered a wonder at the bishop’s sincerity and uprightness and as a breakwater of goodness that blocked Azadin from committing evil deeds.

In Selim’s mind this false equation that Azadin is evil and the bishop is good has already become an absolute proposition that has been proven in itself.

“It breaks my heart to have to kill someone who resembles Mary Bell. But I can’t let you live since you’re a threat to the Rescue Knights.”

    “for a moment.”

    Azadin refuted Selim’s words.

“Are you begging for your life?”

“But before that why do you think I’m a villain?”

“Because the bishop said you were a villain.”

“On the other hand what if the bishop is a bad guy?”

“That can’t be. The bishop is the one who made me a knight. If he is a bad guy then I am a bad guy too. I don’t want to be a bad guy so I trust the bishop.”

    “Oh really?”

Azadin realized that talking no further would be fruitless. To insult the bishop in front of Selim was to insult Selim. Now Selim had gone beyond protecting the bishop and had become one with him.

But then a whistle was heard.

    “uh?”

As Selim turned around in surprise an arrow flew from a different direction than the whistle and struck Selim in the back of the neck.

“Azadin! This bastard is the assassin of Bishop Sehnat! I have a murder request!”

Camilla was nocking an arrow on her shortbow again shouting at Azadin.

“Huh!? You guys! You robbed my office!”

Selim pulled out the arrow from his neck in indignation. It was a deep wound that would have been fatal to a human but it was merely a scratch on the Minotaur’s thick hide.

    “Damn it! It’s a monster?!”

Camilla shoots an arrow at Selim again but when he starts to move the arrow slides away like leaves on flowing water.

The arrow slipped without hitting the target because it was just moving not doing any defensive maneuver.

‘Oh my. Camilla’s bow is incredibly weak.’

Azadin was dissatisfied with Camilla’s weak bow.

She knew in her head that it was a small portable and fast-shooting bow that could be easily handled by her strength but from the perspective of the Herald Clan who valued each and every arrow such a bow was a device that wasted arrows.

It would be more powerful to just throw arrows with your hands.

But that kind of thinking is similar to those who tormented Azadin himself as a child.

‘I’ve become a member of the messenger clan too.’

Azadin tries to step forward and defeat Selim but Selim doesn’t even look at Azadin and charges at Camilla.

Azadin hesitated for a moment because attacking here would mean attacking from behind.

It would be great if we could just take them down but since Selim himself claims to be a knight we’re reluctant to attack him later.

At that moment Countach who had blown the whistle drew his pistol and approached Selim.

They both walked forward without hesitation thumping loudly as if they were going to bump into each other.

    “Don’t attack my sister!”

    “Huh! You stupid half-orc!”

“No you’re too stupid to support me.”

Azadin listened and then said something.

    “I can read and write!”

Selim protested to Azadin’s words picked up an axe lying next to the fence of the ranch and swung it at Countach.

    “what?!”

Countach swung his pistol in surprise…

    -Bang!

The Countach’s pulse was thrown out with a loud noise.

    Selim is superior in strength.

    “Huh!?”

The flustered Countach unconsciously threw a punch.

    “How dare you!?”

Selim also responded with a kick.

Selim’s horn would have crushed Countach’s head if he hadn’t turned it halfway.

But Countach must have been conscious of the Minotaur’s horns because he turned his head exquisitely and succeeded in making their foreheads collide.

    -Bam!

A loud noise rang out making it hard to believe that it was the result of two living things colliding.

It’s more like thunder than a crash.

As the echo of the thunder died away Countach fell to his knees.

“How can this be? I lost?!”

From what I can tell from your words it seems like you’ve been winning every fight you’ve ever had.

Even so it ended with him kneeling down after headbutting the Minotaur. Countach’s head is no ordinary blockhead.

“You can even read those letters and yet you’re so smart!”

“Huh. You idiot! You dare try to beat me?”

Selim raised his axe towards the kneeling Countach but suddenly Selim’s axe became heavy.

    “hmm?!”

“Oh my god. Headbutting a Minotaur.”

Selim looked to the side startled by Azadin’s voice reaching his ear.

Suddenly Azadin was beside him holding an axe.

A surprised Selim swung his axe to throw Azadin off but Azadin’s palm blocked his vision.

    and….

    -Snap!

    Azadin jumped up.

A blue light traced across Azadin and cut off Selim’s horn.

    “Kwaaaaak!”

Blood spurted out as if the horn had been cut from the root.

Azadin cut off one of Selim’s horns with his Azuresteel dagger.

    “This kid!”

Selim enraged swung his axe like a windmill but Azadin like flowing water slipped between Selim’s attacks and pulled out Aurelia Dawn.

The ceramite longsword burns emitting a dazzling golden flame.

A hot heat is felt on Selim’s face.

Azadin who had deftly avoided Selim’s swing of the axe stabbed Aurelia Dunn directly in Selim’s face or rather at the severed horn.

    -Chiieek!

Aurelia Dunn’s golden flames cauterized the area where Selim’s horn had been cut off stopping the bleeding.

    and….

    ‘It smells like delicious beef…’

As the flesh burned the smell of beef filled the air.

“Kwaaak! This guy! How fast! He’s like a fly!”

Selim enraged swung his axe wildly and charged at Azadin.

Even a simple brush with it can be fatal.

Even if they can’t even touch the hem of the clothes I’m confident that just by clashing the weapons I can take the subsequent attack and defense to my advantage.

Selim relying on his own brute force stormed forward but Azadin calmly dodged all of his attacks and even advised Selim to surrender.

“As acting captain of the Fireguard I hereby order you to surrender Sir Selim.”

“This guy! He’s faster than a fly! But once he brushes past you you….”

Even the flies in the pasture are blown to pieces by the gale caused by Selim’s axe blows. However Azadin calmly avoids the axe blows.

‘Ugh. This kid! He’s so calm.’

Selim was taken aback when he saw Azadin’s calm eyes which he had never seen before.

The opponents I’ve seen so far no matter how nimble they were would get scared when his axe would roar and create a storm and their faces would lose their color their hands and feet would twitch and they would fall over in fear.

However Azadin showed no sign of it and calmly avoided Selim’s attacks.

    That’s some serious courage.

“That won’t do Azadin. I was going to treat you like a rescuer and not use this. Aren’t you curious as to why the cows are roaming freely on our ranch?”

    “…I wonder about that.”

Azadin who had been avoiding Selim’s attacks without a care also showed interest in Selim’s words.

“That’s why! Come on Griffin! Let’s eat! Gugugugugu!”

At that moment the movements of the griffins hovering in the sky changed.

The griffins that had been just flying through the sky before now began to look down at the ground with clear murderous intent.

“These are the griffins I hatched from eggs! They think of me as their mother and do not attack cows that resemble me!”

A griffin swoops down from the sky enters a glide and pounces on Azadin.

Although it was slower than the usual falcon’s hunting method the sight of the griffin with its huge size gliding down and swooping down at the speed it had been diving at was truly a sight to behold.

Even if it’s Azadin the attack from the Griffins while gliding will be threatening! What if Selim’s attack from the ground follows on top of that?

With just one touch a series of fatal 3D attacks are unleashed.

“I wanted to fight it on my own but I can’t help it! This is all for the safety of the Knights! Azadin!”

Selim was confident of victory although he was disappointed at having to kill Azadin with his own hands.

    *********

    “Oh really?”

After hearing Selim’s words Azadin moved his position slightly and approached the black cow Meribel.

    “uh?!”

Selim was perplexed at the sight.

The griffins’ gliding attack is now useless because of Meribelle.

If you pass by Azadin you will inevitably collide with Meribel.

The griffins wandered around changing their angles as if they didn’t want to attack the cow but Azadin kept walking around with Meribel and stroking her neck.

“The griffins are well trained Selim. I guess you raised them with affection?”

“Ugh! Cowardly! Azadin! Get away from Meribel! Meribel! That guy is a bad guy!”

But when Azadin strokes her neck Meribelle simply smiles and wags her tail in delight.

“Oh my. It’s pretty. Selim. You’re right. This cow. It’s pretty.”

    “This kid! My Marybell!”

Then the griffins landed on the ranch.

It seemed that they had come down to engage in close combat since a gliding attack was not enough.

Griffins the size of giant brown bears landed on the ground one after another and surrounded Azadin.

    “Ah Azadin!?”

    “colon!”

Camilla and Countach were also horrified to see the griffins descending.

I just can’t seem to get through it.

No if these monsters turned hostile there was no guarantee that even Camilla and Countach would survive.

‘Damn. Should I write this here?’

It was just as Camilla was about to put her hand inside the hem of his dress.

“Selim. This is your final warning. Surrender.”

“What? You said something wrong about surrendering didn’t you?”

Selim snorted but at that moment Azadin disappeared from his sight.

-The land spider of flowers birds wind and moon!

The power of the magic book Flower Bird Wind and Moon which made the messenger clan the natural enemy of magicians has been activated.

Selim startled tried to swing his axe but Azadin had already swung Aurelia Dawn at Selim’s head.
