    #261. Whereabouts of Angel’s Blood 6

“Wait a minute Sir Azaddin. This isn’t going to work.”

    “What are you talking about?”

“This medicine is probably made from the blood of the angel that the author Giacomo ran away with. The blood of the angel is one of the most secret secrets of the Rescue Knights. It cannot be leaked outside. Even if it is mutated. Why do we have to recover the ceramite longsword?”

Anything made with angel blood must never be allowed to leave the Order.

But how would it be to say this out loud to a man who was willing to sacrifice everything for his daughter?

‘That’s why he killed the investigation team. This author is so frustrating. If you tell him not to do it right now he’ll go wild until he dies.’

Azadin sighed as he watched Sir Pavel interfere.

“I was a fool to trust those Rescue Knights. That’s how you guys have always been!”

When Giacomo heard Sir Pavel’s words he thought there was no way to save his daughter and he took a fighting stance.

“I have to kill all of you and escape so I can rescue my daughter myself…”

But the moment he opened his mouth a stream of water poured into his open mouth.

    “town!?”

“Open your mouth Giacomo. If you close it your cheeks will be torn.”

Bernard was pouring water magic into Giacomo’s mouth.

    “Ugh.”

“I’m sorry Giacomo. I’m doing this for your own good. If you try to attack my captain you’ll end up a dog. You can’t beat me either can you?”

    Bernard easily subdued Giacomo.

But it was true that Giacomo had tried to resist and Sir Pavel took out his sword thinking that it was right.

“As expected you evil magician! You’ve revealed your true colors! If I don’t punish you!”

    “Sir Pavel!”

Azadin raised his hand to silence Pavel.

But before Azadin Izmila slapped Sir Pavel in the face.

    “Ugh?!”

Sir Pavel was left covered in blood after being slapped in the face with his gauntlet on.

“What are you doing Sir Izmila!?”

    “Oh I’m sorry. That’s….”

Izmila seemed to have just thrown up her hands because she was so angry at Pavel for talking nonsense.

Even she was embarrassed by her own actions after hitting him.

Azadin laughed when he saw that.

“Wow. There was a transparent lace.”

    “Transparent lace?”

“Didn’t you know? It’s a transparent demon that makes people say stupid things and causes discord. It seems that the enemies set it up to provoke Giacomo and activate his ban to silence him. Otherwise there’s no way that Sir Pavel the head of the investigation team would do something so stupid as to push an opponent who’s under a ban that could explode at any moment.”

    “….”

“As expected of Celestial. Sir Ismilla’s senses are amazing. Well then let’s keep Giacomo in custody for the moment and look through the journal here first.”

As Azadin spoke he secretly took the vial into his bosom.

    *********

“It seems like it will be difficult to hear from Giacomo himself for the time being so I will have to look through his research journal in the meantime.”

    “for a moment.”

Sir Pavel who was covered in blood after being struck by Izmila’s gauntleted hand stopped him.

“This person has accessed the Angel’s Blood a secret of the Salvation Knights. Looking at this person’s research journal means leaking the secret…”

“Then who has the authority to access confidential information?”

    Azadin asked about that.

Given Sir Pavel’s talents and his position as a mere hospitalist he had no authority to grant secrets.

Indeed Sir Pavel said in an embarrassed tone.

    “This is Sir Izmila.”

“Wow. Sir Izmilla. Your position is quite impressive.”

“It’s only natural since there are three Celestials.”

“The doctrine of the Knights Templar states that all spiritual beings are treated equally regardless of their birth. I don’t understand why the people under their command end up falling into fortune-telling or bloodline worship. The combat isn’t written in such a difficult way.”

Azadin sat there muttering and thinking.

‘It looks like this investigation team wasn’t sent with the hopes of success. They sent it without even giving the investigation team leader secret management clearance… They formed the investigation team to hand over Lord Izmilla to the enemy. If that’s true then we must assume there is a traitor among the people who sent the investigation team.’

I can’t even imagine how many traitors there are in this order.

It’s incredible that the organization continues to exist like this.

“So Sir Ismilla who would you choose as your staff for your work?”

Azadin asked folding his hands together with a deliberately cunning smile.

    “….”

Izmila was momentarily taken aback by the cute sight.

    “Oh oh Sir Azadin?”

It was a natural result since Izmila already trusted Azadin completely.

“Then Sir Pavel since you don’t have secret management clearance please take a roll call and check the personnel of the Fireguards. In the meantime we will seal the supplies and research logs here.”

    “…What?”

Sir Pavel looked at Izmila in confusion.

The investigation team is a mess with him being the leader but the secret clearance authority is held by Izmilla a Celestial and the actual command is held by Azadin.

However since Izmila who had the authority to approve leaned towards Azadin only Sir Pavel was left out.

‘Hmm this guy seems capable but reckless. He’ll definitely sniff out the secrets during the sealing process. Ser Ismilla doesn’t seem to have any intention of stopping him. But what if I say something and I have to pay the interest? He’s the guy who made a fool of Chapter Master Ser Hexenmayer in an instant.’

Sir Pavel was afraid of Azadin. The skills he had shown were so great and the Knights Templar headquarters was so far away that he had no choice but to let him go his own way.

    “Then please Sir Pavel.”

    “Hmm I see.”

In the end Sir Pavel had no choice but to reluctantly agree to do so and leave.

    *********

“Well then Sir Ismilla shall we talk amongst ourselves?”

Azadin dismissed Sir Pavel who was not helping solve the case at all and was only a hindrance and spoke with Izmila.

“You may take that vial. The Archangels will be pleased if it can save the girl suffering from an incurable disease.”

Izmila seemed to sympathize with the girl who was suffering from an incurable disease.

But if Sir Pavel and other investigators are involved and they steal this what will be the consequences?

And there is no guarantee that this medicine will work.

Above all Elemental Whaling is a money-extracting disease.

There will be many who value elemental magic stones more than a girl’s life so giving her medicine will not be an easy task.

‘This lady is also a good person without a plan. Of course this elixir has already changed to the point where it cannot be returned to its original form so I don’t like the Knights’ policy of insisting on retrieving it. Still shouldn’t we come up with some countermeasures and tell them to take it?’

Azadin laughed at Izmilla’s kind-hearted attitude without any plan but considering the Rescue Knights’ policy of being particularly generous to Izmilla he might listen.

“Hmm of course there is that too but that’s not all I’m talking about. Sir Izmilla. Can you use more healing magic?”

“Yes? Oh it’s still possible but for now it’s just a small wound. Why?”

“I’m trying to cut out Giacomo’s tongue.”

    “Huh? Tongue? Why?”

“The gold is stuck to his tongue and it is branded with a burnt brand so it cannot be removed with magic. If you cast a healing spell on his tongue in his current state the brand will activate the moment the magic penetrates. If you cut off his tongue before the brand activates you will be able to save him.”

“Ugh. I bet it hurts a lot. Did the person involved consent? It would be so horrible…”

“Bernard will be in charge of the anesthesia. If we treat him quickly it seems possible to save him instead of killing him.”

“Should I be the one who sees the wound?”

“You don’t want to see blood?”

“Oh no. I have to do it. I will do it.”

“Okay. Then I guess it would be better to cut it with a ceramite longsword?”

Azadin drew his ceramite longsword Aurelia Dawn.

    The sword begins to burn.

Up to this point it wasn’t that surprising but the blade was burning even more fiercely and now the metal was melting and becoming mushy.

    “ah!?”

While Izmila was confused Azadin’s sword transformed into something that was too long and thin to be called a sword like a skewer.

“I had to change the shape so that I wouldn’t cut anything else besides my tongue.”

    “That’s possible.”

    “Then let’s do it!”

Azadin stabbed Aurelia Dunn into Giacomo’s mouth who was bound by Bernard’s magic.

    -Shh!

With a gust of wind Giacomo’s tongue was cut off.

A huge amount of blood gushes out.

    “Whoa!”

Izmila almost fainted when she saw the blood.

However Bernard used blood magic to control Giacomo’s blood flow and stop the bleeding.

    “Now do it Sir Izmila!”

    “Oh yes!”

Izmila calmed her pounding heart squinted her eyes put her hand in Giacomo’s mouth and cast a healing spell.

    “Ah!”

Giacomo’s severed tongue was sutured and the wound healed with some new flesh growing.

“Your tongue has become shorter but if you use healing magic a few more times you will be able to speak.”

    “Damage Izmila!”

Azadin hugged Izmila and moved her aside.

As soon as Giacomo’s severed tongue hit the floor it began to mutate and emit pitch-black aura.

The tongue which was the size of an index finger inflated in an instant and transformed into a huge mass of tentacles the size of a human arm.

However because the original body is small the speed of change is not that great.

    “This!”

Izmilla drew her sword and tried to cut off Giacomo’s tongue but Azadin stopped her.

    “wait for a sec.”

    “yes?”

“Let’s leave it until it grows to the size of Giacomo.”

    “what….”

“If you could grow into a monster the size of Giacomo how big would your finger-sized tongue be?”

Bernard said so and released the water binding spell that was holding Giacomo back.

    “Coolook!”

Giacomo whose tongue was cut off coughed up blood and water.

“If you send the interest to the Knights as is you will die. I will have the interest taken care of at Fort Vermillion Captain.”

“That’s what I mean. Do you understand Izmila?”

Izmila also understood what Azadin meant by that. If the debris grows larger due to the nether magic on Giacomo’s tongue she will present it as evidence and get Giacomo out.

    That was what Azadin meant.

It’s more than just stealing the elixir made from angel blood.

However Izmila also had doubts about whether the upper echelons of the Rescue Knights that Azadin suggested were trustworthy.

‘I sent an investigation team leader who didn’t have secret access. If it weren’t for Azadin’s help I would have…’

The incident of Giacomo’s disappearance itself was a trap to draw her out of the center of the Order.
