#256. The Whereabouts of Angel’s Blood 1
‘Hmm. Are you staring at me too much?’
Azadin felt embarrassed as he saw Izmila looking at him with longing eyes.
“Sir Azadin. You are truly a paragon of knighthood. With your exceptional military acumen your cool-headedness and yet your firm will to love justice and uphold virtue.”
“No it’s not like that.”
Just a moment ago I deceived you by making some kind of contract with the Northern Aragasas so it would be problematic if you believed me like this.
But Izmila also considered Azadin’s actions as humility.
“Originally the fact that I was a Celestial with angel blood and that I looked like an angel was all a secret of the Knights Templar. But Sir Azadin you are someone I can trust. In that case I will share another secret with you.”
“Another secret?”
“It’s healing magic.”
“Healing magic?”
“yes.”
Izmila said so and used a spell on Kuntachi the most injured of the group.
Then a circle of soft light surrounded MacDougal and his wounds began to heal.
‘It’s a miracle healing magic! They say that only a king can use this.’
In the King’s Church Izmila casted a healing spell that only the King could use as if it were nothing special.
There are several types of magic that have healing effects the lowest level is blood magic healing the next level is green magic healing and the highest level is miracle healing.
In the King’s Church even the kings use healing magic but since they use their own blood as a catalyst they cannot use it much due to a lack of blood separate from their magical power.
However Izmila was able to use miracle healing magic freely without any special consumption.
“It can only be used when transformed into a Celestial but it can be used without much burden. This is one of the secrets of the Knights. However I can trust you and your men Lord Azadin.”
Having said that Izmila once again put her wings away and returned to her human form.
“Wonderful. So there was a reason the Knights were so fond of you.”
“I am ashamed Sir Azadin. I was rather kidnapped by the enemy. I can only feel my shortcomings.”
Izmila felt helpless both during the pilgrimage attack and now.
‘If you look at it objectively his swordsmanship skills are decent and since he’s a Celestial his magical powers are also excellent. His magical resistance seems to be amazing too. His body also seems to be strong.’
It wasn’t a problem that arose because she was targeting the very existence of Celestial rather than because her own skills were lacking but she couldn’t help but feel discouraged because bad things kept happening.

“So Sir Azadin I need your help.”
“Hmm. Well I thought that would be the case. Tell me more.”
When Azadin asked Izmila pointed the way.
“Let’s talk while walking. The sun will set soon.”
The sun was setting over Fort Fireglyph.
The investigators were gathered at an inn on the outskirts of the Fireglyph fortress.
They were nervous for a while but when they saw Sir Ismilla returning along the road they immediately ran out of the inn.
“Sir Izmila!”
“I hope you are safe!”
“But next to me…..”
They were startled when they saw Izmila return to the fortress.
This was because Izmila did not return alone but with the others from Azadin’s group.
“Don’t worry. This is Sir Azadin who saved me.”
“Sir Azadin?”
“You helped me when the pilgrims were attacked. Now….”
“My name is Azadin the apprentice knight and captain of the guard at Fort Vermillion. Brother.”
Even though Azadin said they were brothers everyone looked embarrassed.
It is common to say that all knights in the Order are brothers but in reality the knights of a certain order wisdom courage or mercy were greatly divided into these three virtues.
Moreover in Azadin’s case there was a problem that predated such a faction.
‘Isn’t this guy from the famous messenger clan?’
‘Kingslayer. How can a soulless blasphemer be our brother?’
‘It’s good that you saved Sir Ismilla but did you really save her? It was the same when the pilgrimage group was attacked and it’s the same this time. Sir Ismilla always shows up when she’s in danger. Could this guy be the culprit?’
‘But he’s really handsome. He’s charming.’
They distrusted Azadin.
At that time the highest ranking investigator among them the head of the investigation team stepped forward.
“Ah Sir Azadin. First of all thank you for saving Sir Izmilla. I am Pavel the commander of this investigation team. Hospitaler. I will definitely not forget your achievements and will report them to my superiors.”
“thank you.”
“But do you know the true identity of Sir Ismilla?”
“If that’s true does that mean she has angel wings?”
“Oh I see. Keep quiet about that.”
“Of course there is no reason to say anything publicly. However it wasn’t just me who saw it but many people in the city saw it. Furthermore it seems that the enemies are also persistently targeting her so it must have already been known to them.”
As Azadin pointed out the Northern Emperor’s subordinates already knew that Izmilla was a Celestial and had prepared a black steel chain with a powerful suppressing curse in order to kidnap her.
But even in this situation the Knights Templar with their rigid organizational structure were in an awkward position.
“I’ve already reported it to my superiors. We can’t do anything rash until we hear back from them.”
Sir Pavel was the epitome of welfare immobility.
If I contact my superiors here and now how long will it take for them to respond?
Then Izmila stepped forward.

“Sir Pavel. Since there is no diocese in Fireglyph any report to the higher-ups will have to be made through the Pava. I don’t know how long it will take and I can’t just sit back and do nothing. So here I would like to ask for the assistance of Sir Azadin.”
“What?! What do you mean Sir Izmila?”
“Anyway Sir Azadin knows my true identity and is a man of both martial arts and wisdom. He is also a brother of the same order of knights so it would be hard to find a better helper to accomplish our mission. Don’t we need his help since we have suffered casualties due to the enemy’s cunning surprise attack?”
“But our investigation is not limited to your true identity Sir Izmilla. We are investigating important secrets that a mere trainee knight should not know…”
Sir Pavel tried to oppose Azadin’s assistance.
But then it happened.
*********
“We didn’t even say we would help so why are you arguing among yourselves saying you need each other? Azadin! Ignore these guys. They won’t listen to you anyway even if you help them.”
The thief Camilla was openly annoyed.
“no….”
Investigation team leader Pavel was taken aback by Camilla’s rudeness in expressing her disapproval of their actions.
The investigators were also outraged by Camilla’s words.
“That’s rude!”
“Who are you?!”
“What? You helped me save Sir Izmilla who was so dear to me that she could not live. Why do I have to receive such humiliating treatment when I deserve your gratitude? Huh?!”
As Camilla was about to lose her temper Azadin stopped her.
“Stop it Camilla.”
“What? But Azadin! I won’t be fooled by these guys.”
“Camilla calm down. There are more important things to do right now.”
As Azadin spoke he suddenly pulled out the sword he had on his back.
Aurelia Dunn the relic of the Knight of Wisdom Planck sparkled with a soft gold color reflecting the moonlight.
“what?!”
“Why are you suddenly pulling out a sword!?”
The panicked Sir Pavel and the investigators all drew their weapons.
“Before that let me ask you one thing. Why are you outside the castle right now?”
“What are you talking about?”
“The question is how did you manage to get out of the Fireglyph when you should have been examined by Lord Hexenmayer’s soldiers along with the doppelganger’s corpse?”
Apparently the investigators were involved in a series of raids and murders within the city and had their angel wings displayed in front of everyone.
Azadin and his party ran out before the commotion spread but by now Fireglyph Fortress will have raised its alert level and will be monitoring those coming and going.
But can they come out of the castle?
Are you saying that Lord Hexenmayer the Chapter Master of Fireglyphs sent them away?
Azadin questioned that point.
“I came out because I didn’t know what kind of threat there might be inside Fireglyph Castle.”
“Is that so? Then would you all please take off your helmets?”
“What?”
“Oh it’s nothing. Even the most advanced detection magic can’t detect a doppelganger’s transformation. But….”
Azadin cut a small section of his hair with his blade and let it blow in the wind.
Her black hair flutters in the wind and reflects the moonlight.
“You can tell if they’re a doppelganger or not by cutting off a small piece of hair and letting it fall. Now everyone please take off your helmets and cut off a small piece of hair.”
“This kid is doubting us now?”
The investigators were confused. But Izmila glared at the investigators and said.
“We were ambushed by doppelgangers in broad daylight. And yet they find it offensive to suspect that we are doppelgangers… That’s suspicious.”
“No Sir Ismilla.”
“look.”
Izmila also drew her dagger and cut off a small section of her hair.
“Hmm. That makes sense. But what about me?”
Sir Pavel said so and took off his helmet.
His sleek bald head reflected the moonlight.
“Eyebrows and a beard are fine but I don’t think that’s necessary.”
Azadin suddenly leaned forward and dashed out.
This was because Azadin had caught the impure movements of the two knights next to Sir Pavel.
“Huh?!”
“Ugh!”
Azadin swung Aurelia Dunn slashing down two knights and raising the blade into the sky.
The two knights collapsed and fell to the floor like bags of mercury liquid.
“A doppelganger?!”
The investigators were surprised by the doppelganger that had sneaked up among their colleagues and Azadin’s terrifying sword skills as he noticed it and cut it down in one fell swoop.
It would be nice if Azadin only targeted the doppelgangers but what if he had tried to cut them down as well?
Could we have stopped the attack a little while ago?
Thinking about it like that gave everyone goosebumps.
“Now would you like to cut the body hair of the rest of you as well?”
Azadin burned his blade burning away the blood on it and politely asked the knights to do so.
The tone of speech is polite but the posture of pointing the sword towards the sky is like a swordsman’s standard that can cut them down at any time so no one dares to disobey.
“Hmm. Okay I see.”
When Sir Pavel tried to cut his beard Azadin stopped him.
“You don’t have to do that.”
