Azadin scoffed at such a request from the medium.

“If I accept you as my servant what happened here today will also become my responsibility. You beat up the servants without any reason. You must have known that the Saban family is behind them right? Are you trying to start a fight between me and the Saban family?”

    “Oh no that’s not it.”

Medium was taken aback when Azadin pressed him like that.

“I just couldn’t stand how they ignored and insulted you so much.”

“Of course I appreciate that. But if you want that to remain grateful you shouldn’t be my servant. If you beat them as a Midiam of Ethar I should be grateful to you but if you beat them as my servant I should correct your bad habits. I should at least give you a spanking.”

“Ugh that’s too much. Why are you so kind to the people of Whibris but to me?”

“Because you are not a citizen?”

At that moment Azadin stopped walking. It was because the Emperor’s voice spoke to him.

    [A petitioner appeared. But….]

    “Is he dead? Which way?”

[It’s the west. Oh I just lost my breath.]

    “Damn.”

Azadin ran towards the western gate. There was already a terrible massacre unfolding there. Soldiers were being slaughtered and the mercenaries who had turned into monsters were eating their corpses.

    “Kurururuk!?”

    “meat?”

The mercenaries who had already been severely transformed had four spider legs growing out of their bodies.

“There were two a while ago.”

“It seems like things change more and more as time goes by.”

Azadin took off his cloak and wrapped it around his arms.

    “You guys prepare the fire.”

Azadin said so and walked forward.

    “Krrrrrr!”

The mercenary who had already transformed into a spider monster rushed forward. However the moment he entered Azadin’s service area he kicked the mercenary’s chin with a lightning-quick kick.

    -Ouch!

It was so fast that it seemed like a blurry shadow was passing by but the mercenary’s neck was broken and he rolled backwards. His cervical vertebrae were broken his nerves were severed and his body convulsed.

However this attack was a bit too much for Azadin. Because he unleashed so much power at once he was able to launch and recover the attack quickly but his body was unable to control the aftermath of the power and shook.

Another spider mercenary flies in without taking advantage of that gap.

    “Ugh!”

Azadin pulled out the sword he had on his waist and swung it falling down like a top that had lost all its strength.

    -Whuh!

The spider mercenary’s arms and legs were severed spraying blood. As soon as Azadin fell to the ground he rolled over and got up to avoid the pouring blood.

I defeated the two mercenaries who had turned into monsters in an instant but…

    “Keeeek!”

    “Kellogg…..”

    The mercenaries woke up coughing.

The mercenary with a broken neck had spiders swarming around his neck perhaps to replace his nervous system and the mercenary with a severed arm also had spiders clinging to the severed section to stop the bleeding.

They both survived despite sustaining injuries that would not have killed them instantly.

“I think it would be okay to just cut it into pieces.”

Azadin glanced at the sight and examined the sword he had just swung. The blade was slightly broken.

The price was to cut off an arm and two spider legs with one stroke.

    “hmm.”

Azadin turned the blade around again and held the sword facing forward.

    “Keeek!”

    “Ugh!”

The spider mercenaries rush in again weapons in hand swinging their spider legs as they charge but Azadin lowers his stance and moves.

    -twilight!

His body became blurry and he quickly passed through the spider mercenaries.

One of the spider mercenaries was cut in two at the waist and another was cut in half but his sword broke off and became embedded in his body.

“Oh man. It was a well-used sword… but it ended up breaking here.”

Azadin clicked his tongue holding the sword that was now only half-cut.

The mercenary with his waist cut off began to crawl on the ground but the cut surface was too large and he eventually died. However the mercenary with the sword stuck in his torso ignored the wound and rushed to Azadin.

At that moment an arrow suddenly flew at him and hit him.

    -Thunderbolt!

Electric sparks flew and fried the spiders in an instant.

    “Kkyaak!”

The mercenary falls down struggling and cannot get up.

“As expected! If they’re weak to fire I thought they’d be weak to electricity too! The spiders inside them are small…”

Medium said so but then felt dizzy and staggered. When she was about to fall Ismail startled tried to support her but Azadin was faster.

Azadin lifted his foot and supported Medium to keep him from falling as if he were supporting a rotten door that was about to collapse.

“Be careful. The Flower Bird and Moon is a colorless magic book. Magic like lightning that generates electricity is too inefficient. Just because it’s in the magic book doesn’t mean you can just use it. Still it’s amazing that you can use lightning at your age. As expected Ethar. I’m impressed.”

    “!”

Medium shrugged when he heard that.

“Right? There aren’t many people my age who can use a wall lightning. Hehe. With this beauty and this talent I think I’m a very sinful woman.”

“Get some rest. You must have a headache from using too much magic.”

Azadin praised Midiam and retrieved the mercenaries’ weapons that had fallen on the floor.

“Then should we set the spider on fire?”

Azadin gathered a few handfuls of hay from around him and sprinkled it on the body then set it on fire with a torch. The hay quickly burned leaving only a charred burn on the body but it was enough to inflict fatal damage to the spiders.

“This method of handling things is great but what if there are too many enemies at once?”

    Ismail asked coolly.

Up to two is fine but more than that?

Since Azadin couldn’t use magic his martial arts alone had its limitations.

Wouldn’t an Azadin like that need even more practitioners who can use magic?

“It’s time to stop accepting us as your servants…”

“I’ll try my best. I’m sure the people I met in a foreign land wouldn’t ignore me right?”

Azadin ultimately refused to accept them as his servants and picked up the weapons of the mercenaries that had fallen on the floor.

These are also in bad shape. They are damaged from the mercenaries swinging their mighty weapons while being contaminated by the spiders of the Kurt tribe.

“An axe or a halberd would be better.”

Azadin took the weapon and headed towards the western gate.

    *********

The western gate had turned into a slaughterhouse. Once the mercenaries began to see blood they could not control their excitement and began to slaughter and devour human flesh.

The more they did this the faster their bodies mutated and soon six spider legs grew out of their backs.

The mercenary captain and Tarki were watching them.

“Hey is this okay? You said you were looking for a copy of the New King’s Book? Then a little more…”

    Tarki questioned the mercenary captain.

“Hmm. It’s a bit different from what I expected but… it’s going well.”

“It’s going well! Hey if it’s like this there’s no way the guy with the Shinwangjinseo will come to this village. If it looks peaceful on the outside people will come right?”

“We just need to get rid of the bodies. We just need to quickly defeat the resistance forces and get rid of them.”

As the mercenary captain passed the corpses he suddenly noticed a triangle drawn on the ground.

    “What is this?”

    “A triangle on the ground…..”

There was blood around the triangle and the mercenaries were eating the dead bodies. Tarki suddenly muttered in surprise.

    “The gold devil?”

“If you are talking about the gold demon then you are the Emperor’s messenger? The messenger clan?”

The mercenary captain tilted his head.

“Come to think of it I heard that the copies of the Shinwangjinseo were spread throughout the world by the Jeonryung Clan. They must be desperately searching for it. Maybe… the Jeonryung Clan might have it.”

“Are you trying to fight the gold demon?”

    Tarki asked in confusion.

“Of course. Now that I think about it there are few people who would break into our campsite and steal our stuff cleanly and run off. It’s impossible for a typical thief to do that.”

The mercenary captain said this and kicked his fellow mercenary who was eating the corpse. The mercenary then screamed and rolled around.

“Let’s see. There’s no gold. Did you spend it? If you did it’s a good thing. The messenger will come looking for you.”

The mercenary captain said so and laughed.

“If we know when the opponent will come we have the advantage. Should we set a trap?”

But before he could finish his words an arrow flew into the mercenary captain’s head.

    “this.”

The mercenary captain easily caught the arrow with his hand and stopped it.

“That’s interesting. Isn’t it so fast? As expected they were watching our movements.”

As the mercenary captain threw his arrow another arrow flew towards his face.

“Don’t you know that it’s useless?”

The mercenary captain laughed and tried to catch the flying arrow but this time it was different. The shaft was slippery. It was covered in oil so it was impossible to stop the arrow by catching it.

Moreover it is stronger than the first arrow. Perhaps the first arrow was shot weakly to make people let their guard down and the second arrow was fired properly.

    “Ugh?!”

    -puck!

The arrow slid and struck the mercenary captain squarely in the face. The space between his eyeballs shattered and he lost control of both his eyes. The muscle that moves his eyeballs to focus the intraocular muscle had been severed.

At the same time a man wearing a hawk mask comes running at full speed. Startled Tarki grabs his sword but…

‘Huh? But do I really have to protect these guys?’

The man who saw Tarki hesitate avoided him and jumped at the mercenary captain.

The sword flashes and aims for the mercenary captain’s neck.

    -Crack!

However only the blade flew away. Instead a spider leg sprouted from the chest of the mercenary captain and pierced the chest of the man who had rushed at him.

“Hey is this the Emperor’s messenger? He’s an interesting guy.”

The mercenary captain snarled and moved his spider legs left and right. He was trying to tear open the wound by moving the leg that had impaled his opponent.

    however….

    -Tututut!

    The spider’s legs fell off.

    “….”

I thought I had clearly pierced the man’s chest but the first impact had already severed the mercenary captain’s spider leg.

All that remains is a severed spider leg dangling from the leather chest armor of the man in front of her.

“You’re a fun guy too sociable.”

    “What the heck.”

The mercenary captain pulled the spider legs out of his body and tried to draw his sword but his opponent was faster.

The man wearing the eagle mask reached for the hilt of the sword on the mercenary captain’s waist and pulled it out while delivering an uppercut with the other hand.

    -Snap!

With a single blow his jaw is broken and he loses consciousness. However the mercenary captain immediately regains consciousness. The spiders living inside his body woke up his unconscious body with a spinal reflex.

    “A monster!”

The mercenary captain who was clearly a monster was rather surprised by the strength of this messenger. He gathered all his strength and stretched out his spider legs.

Send two of them behind you to hit the ground and support your body so that it doesn’t fall over and send the remaining two forward to attack enemies in front of you.

But the enemy had disappeared before my eyes.
