Night of the Soulless Heathens – 218

#218. Herald of Destruction 3
“Arael you say. She ran away.”
Hathir was dumbfounded by Zion Etar’s words.
“You ran away? Even though there were so many of you?”
“Yes. However since he was seriously injured it will be difficult for him to survive. However it is true to his reputation.”
“You really live up to your reputation?”
“Half of the elders of the Senate died by her hand.”
“You didn’t kill him while you were there?”
Azadin intervened between Zion Etar and Hatir’s words.
“Even after being hit by an arrow you seem to have quite a bit of composure Azadin?”
Sion Etar threw his dagger at Azadin.
Azadin whose arms were already broken was unable to dodge but Grimslown’s club danced and struck the flying dagger.
“Hmm? Is this the Nether’s divine water? Ugh.”
As he approached to kill Azadin Sion Etar frowned at the sham that wrapped around his ankle. The sham that flowed out of Aldis’s body was spread out on the ground like fog. When he touched it goosebumps appeared all over his body.
“Oh my god. Aldis… is dead.”
Zion Etar checked Aldis’ condition and frowned.
“Aldis is dead half of the elders of the Senate are dead and countless others of his clan are dead. Shouldn’t someone be held responsible for this series of events? Our father?”
Zion Etar’s eyes burned brightly. There was a murderous look in his eyes as he looked at Hatir and it was obvious who Zion thought was responsible.
‘This insolent bastard!’
Hathir was furious at the audacity of Sion Etar revealing his true colors in his weakened state but with Dul Khazas and Aldis his confidants and weapons gone he had no way to resist.
“You fool! Azadin has his hand on the throne now. This is not the time! And Aldis is now….”
“Yes I understand. Thank you for your concern but… I will take care of everything from here on out.”
When Zion gestured the servants beside him raised their bows. But when they looked at Hatir their hands all trembled.
Hatir was from their perspective the son of God and the core of Aragatha. Since Hatir’s blood flowed through the Etar bloodline the leader Hatir was no different from a living ancestor god.
“These stupid kids.”
Zion Etar clicked his tongue as he watched his servants hesitate but he did not take action himself either.

After much delay everyone’s attention turned to Ismail the youngest of the servants.
“You do it.”
“Isn’t it your great sin that you didn’t take good care of the young lady?”
Everyone started to pass the buck to Ismail.
“ha.”
Ismail sighed. Then he drew his bow and shot at Hatir.
“what!”
Hatir tried to swat the arrow away but Ismail fired an arrow that pierced Hatir’s palm and reached his neck.
“Ugh!?”
Hathir’s body fell backwards. The son of the Emperor of Aragatha and the man who was called the living god began to crawl on the floor in a miserable state.
Ismail took out another arrow and drew his bow with a blank expression intending to completely cut off Hatir’s breath.
But then Aldis opened his eyes.
“oh?!”
-Crack!
A storm of black magic erupted from Aldis. The low-lying poisonous fog swept away the approaching Aragasas and Azadin and Hatir were also swept away by the poisonous mist.
“Ugh!”
Azadin fell to the ground and looked at the throne.
A pure white light was flickering within the throne but its power was too weak. The darkness was so strong and thick and the light was so faint that it seemed as if it would go out at any moment.
‘Is this the end?’
Azadin looked at the quartz throne with regret as it seemed to have little power.
[So this is what happens in the end.]
Then the emperor’s voice was heard.
“…The Emperor’s voice?”
[I wanted to watch you a little longer but there’s nothing I can do. Azadin.]
“what….”
[The contract of service is terminated. The last messenger Azadin.]
With those words a gold-plated key fell in front of Azadin. Azadin tried to pick it up but he didn’t have the strength to do so at the moment.
[Can’t you even make a house like this?]
As the Emperor’s voice spoke the key that had fallen to the floor floated up on its own and entered Azadin’s arms.
“What is this?”
[This is the key that can open all of the Emperor’s treasures. Open it when the real Jupiter era comes not now. The power to save people and the world will be inside. Well then. I leave the rest to you!]
The Emperor’s voice spoke as he was sucked into the throne of Btuma himself. The artificial spirit created by the magic of the Yaegas gods burned its own existence and added white magic to the throne.
-Wooooow!
A dazzling light incomparable to that just before began to radiate from the throne of the King’s Light dispelling the surrounding darkness.
In Arael’s Book of Grimoire the two voices of the Emperor work together to create the light of the King’s Fire that expels the summoned Nether beings.
-Growling!
The giants roaming the outside the giant shadows of the Nether Reapers have blurred. The Nether giants that were materializing have disappeared and the world is about to recover.

‘Is it a success? The Emperor’s voice sacrificed itself?’
The Emperor’s Voice is an artificial spirit created by Emperor Yaeslat by replicating his own personality. He is a being qualified to become the master of the throne.
However since he is not a human but a spirit his sitting on the throne means the annihilation of his own existence. The Emperor’s voice is one that has stepped forward at the risk of his own annihilation.
however….
“Ahahahahahaha! That’s amazing Aragasa!”
Aldis or rather the reaper who had taken over her body burst into flames.
As she raised her hand the power of the Nether which was about to disperse in the light of the royal flower emanating from the throne began to gather towards her. A power incomparable to that just now emanated from her.
Ironically while other parts of Bthuma were being purified by the light of the King’s Fire the area closest to the throne beneath the throne was not being touched by the light of the King’s Fire.
The hand of fraud emanating from Aldis’ shadow grabbed Hathir’s fallen body.
“Ugh!”
Blood spurted from Hatir’s nose and mouth. Hatir’s eyes rolled around as the shadow of the black reaper picked him up and pierced his temple with his index finger and saliva bubbled out of his mouth mixing with blood.
Not only did the Grim Reaper take over Aldis’ body he was also after Hatir’s body.
“Eek!”
Seeing this the other Aragasas were surprised and shot arrows but when Aldis swung the hem of his cloak a black wind arose and made all the arrows fall.
And that’s not all.
“Kwaaak!”
“My flesh is rotting!”
Those who were hit by the wind of fraud screamed and rolled around.
Those who were close to where Aldis was were killed and those who were farther away were seriously injured and fell.
Even Zion Etar was so surprised that he placed the corpse in front of him and barely managed to escape by lying down behind it.
‘Oh shit. We’re all going to die here! We have to escape… but….’
Azadin felt drowsiness creeping over him.
I’ve lost so much blood. I’m exhausted.
‘The Emperor’s voice has purified the throne so what the Nether’s messengers are doing now is their last desperate attempt. The world… will be alright.’
Thinking like that Azadin found it difficult to find any more reasons to exert himself.
His star has already fallen.
And even the voice of the emperor who had been delivering the mission has now disappeared. Of course he didn’t just disappear he accomplished something truly great at the end.
‘Oh what? So can I die now?’
Azadin closed his eyes against the rushing sleep.
*********
Although Midiam was not the eldest daughter of the Etar clan leader she was an important enough figure.
However it was also true that she had betrayed her clan on Azadin’s side. Ismail had deliberately defeated Midiam and surrendered to the Etar clan in order to save her life.
But now as the Nether’s messengers were wielding their power Ismail attacked and defeated those who were holding Midiam and freed the ropes that were binding Midiam.
“Ismail!”
“We have to run away Medium!”
“This kid!”
The servants of the Etar clan were shocked to see Ismail release Midiam whom he had captured.
They all knew because they had been trained that Ismail had faked his surrender to save Midiam’s life.
But who would have thought that he would release Midiam while killing Etar’s servants who had eaten from the same pot as him as a child!
“You little brat!”
The large servant held a short sword in each hand and swung a stab. The flashy attack flew towards Ismail.
Ismail held his sword vertically dividing his dazzling attacks left and right precisely with his sword as the standard and moved to the right to deflect all the attacks.
“this guy!”
The person who was lured into Ismail’s defense moved his body and was struck by the wind of deception released by Aldis.
“Ugh!”
In an instant the arm rotted away the skin and muscles detached and dangled.
“thank you.”
Ismail grumbled and stabbed the giant in the chest with his sword using his body to block the wind of deceit then snatched his weapon and threw it to Midiam.
“Okay! We have to run away quickly!”
“Wait! Ismail! Azadin!”
“We can’t save him with our current capabilities! He’s too big!”
Ismail was calm. If it was just Midiam and Ismail they could have escaped somehow. But Azadin was too big and injured so he couldn’t even control his own body properly.
It is impossible to save him at least not without Ismail or Midiam remaining unharmed!
“Please!”
But even though he knew that Medium was still trying to save Azadin.
“Are you telling me to die for the man you love?!”
Ismail’s loyalty to Midiam was entirely due to love. But the woman he loved loved someone else and expected her to be devoted to him for that person.
It was a truly embarrassing situation for Ismail.
but….
Ismail shouted “Aaak!” and grabbed his head then ran to Azadin and picked him up as he lay on the ground.
be heavy.
Although Ismail was trained as a member of the clan the physical difference was too great for him to lift it with pure physical strength alone.
Ismail used the Flower-Bird-Pung-Wol technique to channel magical power into his body increasing his strength and then lifted Azadin onto his back.
While Ismail carried Azadin Midiam stood guard in front of him with his sword.
Thanks to the fact that everyone had retreated far away due to the Etar bloodline’s status as Medium and the evil aura of the rampaging god of death Aldis a path of retreat was secured.
“Go! Ismail!”
“…Medium!”
Ismail bit his lower lip as he watched Medium try to stay behind to secure a retreat.
“It’s okay. I’m of the Etar bloodline. Would you kill me?”
“….”
No it kills.
Sion Etar may have planned to eliminate Hatir and become the leader himself. From that perspective it would be embarrassing to keep Midiam alive who had betrayed his clan twice.
This time he was definitely going to kill Medium.
“Thank you Ismail. For complying with my demands.”
“….”
Ismail was speechless when he heard Medium’s smiling words.
“You’re an idiot. You or me….”
