Night of the Soulless Heathens – 215

#215. Even if you lose the light 10
Azadin decided to deal with Hatir first.
Grab the black steel sword you picked up on the battlefield and fire it with the yellow crane of Kazas Sea.
The arrow flies on the curved wind drawing a trajectory away from Aldis and aiming for Hatir. The trajectory shows an attitude of hesitation in case it hits Aldis.
But Aldis took a step forward and fired his black steel bullet.
-Bang!
The black steel balls collided with each other in the air disrupting their trajectories.
Aldis enchanted his bow but Azadin’s brute force was stronger than the bow’s so it was offset by the magic.
“You’ve gotten stronger Azadin.”
“Aldis…..”
Azadin bit his lip as he looked at Aldis blocking him.
Before Arael acquired that name she was called Harkonia’s Native. Being comparable to Harkonia means being the strongest being in the Herald Clan.
That strongest being has become an enemy and is now blocking Azadin’s path.
“To stop you I’ll have to cut off at least an arm or a leg.”
“That would work too.”
“….”
Suddenly Azadin’s mind became clear.
Yes. You just have to subdue Aldis. Even if you have to cut off one of his limbs it’s better than him dying if you can subdue him without any harm to his life.
But can the strongest agent of the Herald Clan be subdued so easily?
Then Hatir threw his black steel sword to Aldis.
“Use this!”
Aldis waved her hand instead of accepting the Black Steel Sword. Then the Black Steel Sword rose on its own and danced in the air circling around her.
“then!”
A black steel sword flies towards Azadin’s knee. It’s a quick but old-fashioned attack. Of course Aldis’s attack can’t be this simple.
Indeed Aldis threw his spear over his head at the same time he swung his black steel sword then took out his bow and shot at Azadin.
-Clear wind and bright moon!

Arrows poured out from the bow and circled in the air emitting a magical blue light. Countless arrows circled in the air like a pack of lynxes hunting their prey.
If Azadin shows an opening while trying to receive the Black Steel Sword those arrows will rain down and harm Azadin.
However Azadin thwarted Aldis’ attack without a hitch by slashing Grimslow’s club and blocking the Black Steel Sword and kicked his own tradition with his heel.
Arrows flew out of the quiver and Azadin caught them and shot them. Aldis’ arrows enchanted with the magic of the Blue Wind and Bright Moon burst out.
Azadin fired his arrows with great force one by one and shot down Aldis’ magic arrows.
As the arrows of Cheongpungmyeongwol were fired simultaneously toward Azadin Aldis rushed forward.
-Shhhh!
Her window shot out transforming into countless shadows of light making a ripping sound.
A lightning-quick attack that stabs seven times in a row. Moreover the most threatening long stab was invisible.
This technique ‘Shadows on Cherry Blossoms’ which inserts shadow attacks between flashy attacks is a talent that anyone who sees it for the first time cannot help but be amazed.
However Azadin took the attack as a Qing executioner and slipped it away.
He already knew Aldis’ secret technique.
Of course he wasn’t able to completely block it so he suffered scratches here and there on his body but the gap narrowed as the spear slid. Aldis had entered Azadin’s attack range.
“Ugh!”
Now it’s Azadin’s turn! Azadin lunged forward swinging his blue executioner like a tonfa.
Although he was a large man compared to Aldis the moment he jumped in was very fast and sharp.
Azadin’s attack which involves lowering his body and jumping in starts at his own eye level and drops to Aldis’ ankle height.
Considering that Aldis was running backwards he quickly closed the distance to one and a half spear lengths.
In fact with this level of mobility he could easily engage someone wielding a spear but Azadin deliberately avoided Aldis’ attacks by barely missing her and drew her in.
And then Azadin’s attack unfolded.
A strong attack from the Qing River that seemed to split Aldis vertically fell. However the attack was blocked by the Black Steel Sword. The Black Steel Sword controlled by Aldis danced in the air and flew in on its own to block Azadin’s attack.
And in Aldis’ hand the spear instantly expands into two or three and he catches the black steel sword in the air and spins it around.
The two weapons the Black Sword and the Spear moved in a complex manner absorbing Azadin’s attacks.
That’s not all. Aldis pulled out the curved sword he had on his waist and swung it at the hilt of his long spear.
The curved sword dances on its own hanging on the spear as if it were a mace attached to the spear spinning around. The long spear becomes a flail with two heads a black steel sword and a curved sword and shakes messily.
Aldis swung his spear like a flail and attacked Azadin. Even though Azadin dodged the spear the swords dancing on the tip of the spear continued to aim for Azadin.
‘As expected he’s strong. Stronger than anyone I’ve faced so far! As expected Aldis….’
And more than anything Azadin felt like throwing himself through that window right now.
‘If I die in that window will Aldis be heartbroken? Will he remember me forever?’
Azadin was heartbroken by the situation to the point where he could even think of such a foolish thought.
But is it true that life is tough? Azadin reflexively protected his body and continued to fight.
Azadin’s arm slashed away the flying curved sword and black steel sword kicked the spear that was about to stab his knees and rolled down on top of the swinging long spear quickly closing the gap in front of Aldis again.
“That’s great!”
Aldis was impressed.
Azadin who had closed the gap swung the Blue Executioner at Aldis again.
however….
‘uh?’

Azadin felt that Aldis’ movements were strange.
‘Aren’t you going to try to avoid it?’
For a brief moment she watched with admiration as Azadin broke through her attacks. Perhaps she was captivated by the fact that the boy who had been more helpless and weaker than anyone else in the clan had grown enough to break through her attacks?
Even though he was fighting for his life Azadin felt a warm concern and his heart ached.
That moment of confusion proved fatal to both sides.
Azadin swung his Blue Executioner and changed the grip of his halberd to a tonfa grip.
This is great for parrying heavy attacks. If you hold a sword or axe out long enough to block an opponent’s swing all the load will be concentrated on your wrist but the tonfa grip can easily distribute the load across your entire arm.
However it is that short. Azadin deliberately insisted on the tonfa grip using his excellent charging power to cover up the short range and then changed his grip at important moments.
The change was so quick and deft that it seemed as if the weapon was lengthening itself in Azadin’s hands.
When I hold the severed spear handle it is as long as a short battle axe.
But Aldis also came to his senses and counterattacked. The black steel sword flew towards Azadin’s neck.
-Pfft!
-Clang!
Chainmail armor tore through the floor sending chains crashing down onto the broken pavement from the earthquake.
At the same time the blue executioner wielded by Azadin hit Aldis in the arm.
To be exact the spear axe aimed for her neck was blocked by Aldis with her dagger but the dagger was cleanly cut and the spear axe reached her arm.
The Blue Executioner cuts Aldis’ arm open and inflicts a terrible wound. The arm is severed and flies away.
However the black steel sword that Aldis had thrown also flew towards Azadin’s nape and Azadin wrapped his neck with his left arm.
The armor was torn and bones were broken. The black steel sword pierced through the wax arm Scott had provided not just above the elbow but also to the shoulder.
Aldis and Azadin took each other’s arms.
“… Excellent Azadin.”
“Aldis…..”
But Azadin did not let his guard down.
Aldis is of royal blood. He is also the one who took the throne of Coral Sahar. The throne of Coral Sahar that Azadin saw is still uncorrupted and is still a powerful source of white magic.
King’s Healing Miracle. Aldis will be able to use the King’s Healing Miracle.
however.
Aldis’s knee buckled. Too much blood flowed from the wound.
Unlike Azadin who received the Black Steel Sword Aldis was hit by the Qing executioner.
The Blue Executioner’s thrusts opened the wounds on both sides of the blade and Aldis’s arm was cut off with a thumping force. A large amount of blood poured out from the left arm which was close to the heart.
On the other hand Azadin was hit by a stab. His arm was eventually cut off but unlike Aldis he was able to reduce the blood loss somewhat by tightening his armpit and stopping the bleeding.
Well leaving all that aside…
Aldis didn’t seem to want to live either.
Like Kazas Aldis also lost his will to live when his beliefs and the wishes of his clan came into conflict.
She was fair and merciful enough to embrace the eyeless ugly Azadin without any hesitation. It was wrong of her to follow the wishes of the clan that massacred the Hybris people.
“What are you doing! Use the King’s Heal! Aldis! Your life is not yours alone! The wish of the clan! Are you going to abandon the dream of our clan that has been passed down from generation to generation! You can do it! If you are the daughter of this father use the Heal to heal and punish the traitor!”
Hathir became furious and urged Aldis on. Then Aldis suddenly came to his senses.
“I’m sorry Azadin. I….”
A golden light began to flash from Aldis. He had begun to use the King’s healing miracle.
But when the king’s healing miracle shone it was not Aldis but Azadin who was targeted.
“I’m sorry Father. I… Azadin….”
Aldis’ head fell limply to the ground.
*********
“Aldis!”
Azadin got up in confusion as he watched Aldis cast healing spells on him but his body weakened by losing a lot of blood was unable to move forward and fell face first to the ground.
“Ah… uh….”
A silent scream seethed like phlegm in Azadin’s throat.
Aldis is dead.
Kazas and Aldis too…
Even Aldis ended up killing Azadin with his own hands.
‘She was my star my light my everything!’
‘Why did these Whibris people have to kill Aldis with my own hands!’
‘Was it really an ideal worth protecting to that extent? Really?’
Azadin crawled towards the fallen Aldis.
The wound from the Black Steel Sword did not heal well even with the miracle magic so it was tattered. Even when he crawled on the ground his arm was torn and blood spurted out but Azadin did not feel the pain.
My heart was already torn to pieces so I couldn’t feel the physical pain.
“What a fool. And… what a foolish daughter.”
Hatir who had been sitting on the throne stood up. As he raised his hand having recovered from his wounds the black steel sword that had fallen on the floor shuddered and was sucked into his hand.
-Kurururung!
Another earthquake occurred and black smoke poured out from the fallen quartz throne.
