Night of the Soulless Heathens – 213

#213. Even if you lose the light 8
Azadin is chasing after them.
“this guy!”
Hatir struck the pursuing Azadin with his sword but each time they clashed he was the one who was pushed back unable to overcome the force.
Once the center of gravity of the body was pushed back Hatir had to repeatedly step back to avoid falling but Azadin attacked appropriately each time driving Hatir as if he was kicking a ball.
“Kaaaak!”
Hathir let out a hideous scream.
New flesh grew on his face which had been torn off by Azadin’s fist and his cut arm which had been cut to the bone began to heal and translucent brown keratin covered his body.
An insectoid exoskeleton surrounded Hatir’s body like armor and insectoid legs with sharp thorny scythes sprouted from her elbows and shoulders.
The insect’s legs hit the ground causing it to lose its balance and barely recover from being pushed. The insect’s legs which had shot out with frightening force aimed for Azadin.
The legs of the insects were covered in sharp thorns that looked like they would reach the spine if hit but when Azadin swung the Blue Executioner they were cut off.
“Is it the witchcraft of the Nether that he who calls himself the Son of God relies on in the end?”
Azadin grumbled.
“Shut up! You! A son of Acre!”
Hatir tried to block Azadin’s spear axe with his black steel sword.
The black steel sword he uses is a treasure of Aragasa called ‘Arael’s Judgement’. It is a sword made from the scales of the dragon that flowed out during the fight between the angel of justice Arael and the dragon Azadin.
There is nothing that this sword cannot cut. Even if it were a treasured sword made of black steel it was common sense in Aragasa that black steel was superior to blue steel.
‘If I just break that damned axe I can fix this disgrace!’
Hathir thought so and tried to defeat Azadin by relying on his superiority in weapons.
“How pathetic.”
Azadin turned the Qing executioner around and used the hilt of his sword to meet Hatir’s black steel sword knowing that his opponent was relying on the superiority of his weapon.
-Crunch!
The black steel sword cut off the handle of Azadin’s spear axe.
and….
-Wow!
Azadin turned his back and kicked Hatir in the arm.

But that wasn’t all. Azadin’s kick had enough power to shatter Hatir’s arm and he buried it inside his body. The bone in his arm broke and the ribs that were crushed by the broken bone also shattered and Hatir’s torso was crushed.
The insect-like carapace and limbs that had grown on Hatir’s body fell off his body.
“Ugh!”
Blood spurted from Hatir’s open mouth.
Azadin held the broken halberd like a tonfa and spun around to approach Hatir.
“Yes you! The Book of the New King… The power of the Book of the New King!”
Hathir was astonished to discover the source of Azadin’s immense power.
“Well it’s a long explanation… If you think about dying in the Book of the New King will you feel better? Then know that and die.”
Azadin swung his blue executioner at Hatir. Given Azadin’s physical abilities it was an attack that could have split Hatir vertically in one blow.
The leader of the messenger clan Hatir the son of the wise god.
Azadin son of Acre the worst traitor among the Herald Clan.
Could it be that the result of their duel would end like this?
*********
As Azadin’s axe flew towards Hatir with the intent of splitting him something heavy struck the blade.
-Kaang!
The black dragon flew in and hit the Qing executioner on the day of execution.
When the messenger clan handles weapons they consider those made of black steel to be the best and those made of blue steel to be inferior but Azadin’s blue executioner held out without losing a single tooth even when hit by black steel.
However the shock was completely conveyed to Azadin.
Azadin’s mask flew off and blood spurted from his mouth and nose.
“Huh?!”
My head feels dizzy and my mouth is stained with blood as if I’ve been hit by a powerful punch.
“Up to there!”
Kazas jumped down between Azadin and Hatir and blocked their path.
“Kazas!”
“Run away Hathir.”
Kazas said so and blocked Azadin’s path.
“Master….”
Azadin couldn’t hide his confusion as he looked at Kazas blocking his path.
How could you possibly interfere with Aragasa’s duel to protect Hatir? The taste of blood is in my mouth.
“You dare interrupt the duel?!”
As Arael was about to shoot his arrows in anger Zion Etar and the elders began to move.
“Protect the leader!”
The fight between the four members of Hwajopungwol their subordinates and the Senate faction began.
However many of the elders aimed their arrows at Azadin. The arrows rained down all at once toward Azadin.
‘this….’
Azadin sensed his own death as he watched the elders’ arrows rain down.
It’s a hail of arrows mixed with black steel. Even if you only hit the head or torso you’ll lose your limbs again like before and this time you can’t avoid blood loss.

however….
-Pfft pfft!
A dull crashing sound was heard.
The sound of arrows tearing flesh and shattering bones was enough to tell a herald how deep the wound was just by hearing the sound.
This is the sound of a penetrating wound the lowest fatal injury.
Yet Azadin felt no pain at all.
Because none of the arrows struck Azadin’s body.
Of course the arrows shot by the elders of Aragasa did not fly through the air in vain.
“Ugh.”
The arrow was embedded in Kazas.
Kazas who had intervened in the duel to save the leader Hatir came forward to block the arrows with magic martial arts and his own body.
“Master S!?”
“Elder Ka Kajas?!”
Those from the Senate faction that had attacked Azadin were also taken aback by the unexpected situation.
“nice….”
“Eight what the heck! Shoot!”
Zion Etar draws his bow again. A second wave of arrows flies in.
Azadin was surprised and tried to shoo the arrow away but Kazas deployed his magic barrier again and shooed the arrow away himself protecting Azadin.
“Well done Azadin. I never thought you would defeat Hatir.”
“What are you doing?!”
When Azadin was surprised and didn’t know what to do Kazas silently raised his hand and brought it to Azadin’s face.
Kazas’ bloody hand passed over Azadin’s face. Kazas’s eyes had already lost their light and he could no longer see Azadin.
Azadin absentmindedly grabbed Kazas’ hand.
“You really are so presumptuous! You shouldn’t have protected Hathir in the first place! That guy….”
Azadin said that and then closed his mouth.
It was because he was smiling even though Kazas’ wounds were so deep that there was no way to save him.
“That’s true. Hahaha…..”
Kazas said so and cast the spell.
A magical wind began to blow in the palace’s front yard. Blue lightning flashed in the gusts swallowing up the flying arrows.
It was a wind spirit that could block arrows by swallowing and neutralizing the arrows fired by the overwhelming number of the Senate.
Back in the old days when Kazas was the enemy of the Aragasa he boasted that he had wreaked havoc on the Aragasa with this magic.
It was recast to protect Azadin.
“Azadin… You find your star. I have already found my star…”
Kazas left those words behind and died.
Azadin felt an indescribable sadness as he watched him standing on the ground unable to fall due to the force of the arrows that had pierced his body.
“Huh!”
Azadin understood deeply why Kazas had made this choice.
In the end Kazas was unable to abandon either Hatir or Azadin.
Although he verbally prioritized Hatir he could not abandon Azadin. When Azadin overwhelmed Hatir in a duel and tried to kill him he broke the sacred rules of duel himself.
However that did not mean that Azadin could be allowed to die from the elders’ arrows.
If he wanted to save Azadin he shouldn’t have intervened in the first place but in the end when he had to choose between Hatir and Azadin he chose not to choose.
‘You idiot…. What on earth was Harcony to you?! Why!’
Azadin hugged Kazas and carefully laid him on the floor.
He was the person with whom Azadin spent the longest time in his life.
The importance of his teacher and his family who taught him the strength to fight and the strength to protect his dignity cannot be expressed in words.
However it was Azadin’s jealousy that drove Kazas into a position where he had no choice but to die.
This is the result of forcing Kazas who could not give up either Hatir or Azadin to choose one of the two.
*********
“Azadin!”
Midiam tried to jump in to help Azadin but then Ismail jumped in behind Midiam.
-puck!
Ismail’s body disappeared for a moment and then appeared over Medium’s body.
A magical spell that allows you to teleport over your opponent’s body.
At the same time Ismail stabbed Midiam in the carotid artery causing her to lose consciousness.
“Ugh?!”
“…Forgive me. Medium.”
Ismail helped up the falling Medium.
As expected the Senate’s attack avoided Midiam and Ismail and instead poured on Arael’s men.
Even though Midiam himself came forward and smeared Zion Ethar’s face I don’t think anyone would want to kill Midiam one of the legitimate successors of the Ethar bloodline in this place.
“Well done Ismail. Well I can’t just not punish you but… you’re quick-witted.”
Zion Etar praised Ismail for subduing Midiam at the right moment.
“Yes. You’re quick-witted.”
Ismail hugged the fainted Midiam and muttered again with a bitter expression.
“It’s so fast… I’m starting to hate myself.”
*********
“Azadin! Come to your senses! There’s no time for that!”
Arael’s scream brought Azadin back to reality.
Despite Kazas’ sacrifice Azadin and Arael were still in danger.
Since Kazas broke up the duel and died the elders of the Senate were able to attack Azadin and his party without any burden and the Senate which had an overwhelming advantage in numbers began to overwhelm the four members of Hwajopungwol in an instant.
If it weren’t for the arrow-blocking spirits summoned by Kazas neutralizing the arrow attacks neither the four members of the Flower Bird Wind and Moon nor Arael would have survived.
Despite this the powerfully enchanted arrows were still a threat.
“These scumbags!”
Arael drew her sword in anger. The treasured sword made of blue steel and the Wendigo dagger that had originally belonged to Azadin began to dance in Arael’s hands spraying blood.
“Ugh!”
“As expected of Arael!”
As they quickly defeated numerous Aragasa the messenger clan was afraid of Arael and could not approach her. However even in the midst of all this they were unable to overcome the power of numbers and the blood of Arael and her party soaked the ground.
And that wasn’t the only thing that was pushing the clock.
-Kuuuuuuuuu!
The king of the great shadow storm who was trying to summon the Nether beings still outside the realm of the living howls.
The nether magic emanating from the Bthuma royal castle was growing stronger.
-Kurururung!
The ground shakes and the foundations of the Bthuma royal castle burst apart.
