Night of the Soulless Heathens – 176

“I also owe the captain a little….”
Whenever Gimela and the Count showed their greed for Scott Scott said something to Azadin who took it lightly.
“Are you disappointed?”
“No I was impressed. A man who can ruthlessly sacrifice his subordinates for his own will at any time. Only someone of that level can be my leader. Even if you call it a sacrifice it’s just a bit too much to gain muscle.”
“Is that so?”
Orcs value intelligence above all else and so they were very affectionate. Rather than always sparing their subordinates they considered it wiser to sell them if they could at a reasonable price.
“But apart from that I won’t do it. I hate getting skinned. And from an orc’s perspective it’s a bit… low-class behavior when compared to other races. The moment you do something like that you’ll be ostracized by the entire race. You’ll be criticized for being so stupid untalented and unattractive that you’ll be able to stick with other races.”
“okay.”
Meanwhile Shati was shivering.
“Why are you like that again?”
“There’s that guy who carries a gong and is the count’s lover.”
“uh.”
“I have to go out.”
“okay?”
“They have to work 24 hours a day to barely be able to see their children… and they have a lover like that.”
“….”
It was natural to imagine Count Kimalhaji being entangled with his lovers 24 hours a day.
Should I say it’s tremendous physical strength or tremendous lust?
“Anyway there were quite a few of them as I walked by. I guess they were Btuma.”
“What that means is….”
“If the Nagas really start attacking Btuma there won’t be an answer. But the Count seems too confident and doesn’t make any sense. Let’s just raid that Cheonggeondang holy site or something.”
“Ha. So this is the conclusion? I really hate it. I wonder why no one understands when I say it out loud.”
“The captain couldn’t convince his clan either so he’s struggling on his own right now. That’s just how it is.”
“When trying to persuade others you have to stick a knife in their balls. Otherwise how can you convince them when they are all so talented?”
“That’s true.”

Azadin rested in the accommodations prepared by Gimela at Count Kimalhaji’s mansion.
Gimela still unable to let go of her greed tried to seduce Scott but Scott reluctant to gain muscle firmly rejected Gimela’s seduction.
“I rejected you like that so maybe you’re holding a grudge and putting poison in the food?”
Azadin said a word as he watched Scott calmly eating the meal that Gimela had prepared for him.
“It’s okay Captain. We can detect whether it’s poison or not with a simple spell.”
Scott said and ate the food.
In Btuma rice and beans are the main crops so the food is made by mixing rice and beans with various spices.
For Azadin who was from the North it was an exotic and strange food but surprisingly it was edible.
“It’s actually good. The meat inside doesn’t have any gamey or gamy smell at all. The spices are really strong so they get rid of the gamey smell.”
“And it’s surprisingly good for building muscle. But it’s not that good for me.”
As Scott spoke he emptied the bowl cleanly.

The next day Azadin and his party prepared to depart.
Jiswa was equipped with chainmail and was armed with a long club with a metal beak.
Shati chose the Naga curved sword and the Naga chainmail armor and with a chain veil on her face anyone could tell that she was wearing Naga clothing.
“Isn’t there no point in disguising yourself as a human?”
“When it’s time to fight I’ll transform into Naga.”
“What Scott? Scott.”
“Let’s go Captain.”
“Before that just a moment…..”
Azadin asked the servants of the Countess of Kimalhaji for news about Korrasar.
If Count Kimalhaji really intended to invade the Kingdom of Korasa he would have been more sensitive to information about the Kingdom than anyone else. As expected their information was fast and accurate.
“This is new information that just came in last night. The King’s Church was dispatched to save the Kingdom of Korasaar which had been taken over by the Heralds but instead the Heralds captured the bishop and the knights were defeated.”
“If things continue this way the King’s Church will soon issue an official order to punish Bthuma. At that time we may be able to establish the United Kingdom of Bthuma and Korasa.”
It must have been their long-held dream to swallow up Korasaur for they did not hesitate to use the word “United Kingdom.”
According to the teachings of the Church of the King which records the terrible history of the Emperor swallowing up the entire Eight Kingdoms the United Kingdom was also a negative and ominous word that could be branded as an Emperor.
However the ambition of the Bthuma people has already reached a point where the King’s Church cannot stop them and the King’s Church would rather grant a united kingdom to Bthuma than lose a part of the eight kingdoms to the Herald Clan.
“What about Judge Zect?”
When Azadin asked about Jecht the servants answered.
“Even without that it is said that the judge named Jektra was defeated on the Korasaar front and disappeared. We are closely monitoring all the paladins in case he flows into Btuma.”
“I see.”
Azadin was surprised but relieved that Jecht had been defeated.
The feeling of ominousness I got when I saw him was not ordinary but it seemed that he was not an enemy of Aldis who had taken the throne.
‘But I have mixed feelings. There’s me who rejects the Senate that treats human life lightly and cooperates with the Nagas and other Kurt gods and there’s also me who hopes that the Aragasas won’t be defeated.’
From Azadin’s perspective the Senate is a potential enemy but he does not want them to be defeated in vain.
Was it because Azadin was also an Aragasa? He had complicated feelings.
“Then the lady wishes you good luck. This is a gift from the lady.”

The servants handed Azadin a sack filled with gold coins claiming it was from Gimela.
“Why all this…”
Azadin was impressed by Gimela’s hospitality. It contained five gold coins which was an excessive amount for a gift to someone who just happened to visit.
Since their finances were already strained from bringing in the refugees they gratefully accepted the gold coins.

With each step Scott’s Corpse Abomination took the surrounding scenery passed by with a whoosh. Azadin’s goat sweated profusely as he chased after the Abomination.
In the hot and humid Btuma region Kerim’s ram was on the verge of exhaustion so Azadin placed him on the Abomination’s wagon.
“I’ll be there soon.”
Jiswaga says this while giving directions.
“I told you soon. My goat is now exhausted because of you.”
“How about shaving your hair?”
“The Kerim goat is different from sheep in that if you shave off all of its hair it often doesn’t grow back.”
“Is that so? But I think it would be better to shave it in hot regions.”
“The fat from the hair of the Kerim goat is also a very valuable anti-rust oil for the messenger clan… Should I just shave the hair on my legs first?”
That’s when Corpse Abomination stopped.
“this.”
Scott groaned.
“I guess the sanctuary is near. The undead don’t seem to want to go any further.”
“The undead are reluctant to enter?”
“Yes. There are limits to autonomous operation. From now on we will have to operate it ourselves.”
Scott frowned.
It is now a narrow path that is difficult to enter by directly manipulating the Corpse Abomination making it not a good environment for large monsters to enter.
“This won’t work. I’ll have to take it apart.”
“You’re taking it apart?”
“Well that’s how it is with all necromancy. No matter how carefully you use a corpse if you leave it alone it will rot and if you move it it will wear out. That’s the fate of necromancy you have to create a new work of art every time.”
Scott explained necromancy as if he were some kind of craftsman making household items. He began dismantling the Corpse Abominations and reassembling them into smaller undead.
“Ugh.”
Azadin turned his gaze to the horrible sight.
It’s a good thing Zibek isn’t here. If he were I’d be having a hard time resisting the urge to slit Scott’s throat right now.
“By the way Jiswa. If the undead refuse to enter then this is near the sanctuary right?”
“Yes. We are almost there. From here on out we are not even allowing pilgrims to enter.”
Jiswaga got down from the cart walked forward and pointed to a rope stretched between the trees.
“Beyond this golden line is the sanctuary.”
“Okay. Then I should prepare too.”
Azadin took out a copy of the New King’s Book sucked in the white magic and spread the power evenly throughout his body.
In the past one page would suffice but now it could suck up the magic power of two or three pages at a time.
After absorbing the white magic like that a shock like a storm raging inside your body comes.
“town….”
Azadin glanced at his nose.
I’m getting coffee.
But in contrast the strength in my body also boils up violently.
“Captain. How about erasing the Kazas spell and learning magic from scratch? It’ll definitely make you stronger but….”
Scott saw Azadin’s condition and seriously advised him to convert.
However it was nonsense to ask Azadin a member of the Herald Clan to erase the Herald Clan’s magic book Flower Bird and Wind.
Moreover if you do that you will lose all the strength you have built up so far.
“You can’t do that now.”
With the conspiracy of the Herald Clan threatening countless civilians in Korasaar Btuma and everywhere else there is no time for Azadin to leisurely erase his old grimoire and start anew.
Azadin stepped into the sanctuary of the Qing Dynasty.

The man known as Cheonju the founder of Cheonggeondang is said to have entered this black forest as a wandering merchant to escape thieves and harsh taxes and met the ‘Grimslawn’ a Nether being.
To be exact it was a part of that body. Because Grimslow had once been banished from this world by the three archangels served by the Knights Templar.
That is the angels repelled Grimthron and a part of his body fell here. God not knowing that it was Grimthron’s body set up camp on top of a tall tree stump and was suddenly struck by lightning and ended up on the verge of death.
It is said that at that time he unconsciously drank the sap and blood of Grimslow and attained enlightenment.
“Whoever hears this it’s social. Did you develop faith after hearing such words? Jiswa?”
“Yes. Because at that time I had already been saved by drinking Grimslow’s sap.”
“Well if you’ve already consumed Grimslow’s sap….”
“It’s better than dying from a disease. So the Lord wanted to carry a piece of Grimslown so that he could always obtain the sap…”
“Did it fail?”
“Yes. They say that all the monsters in this black forest attacked.”
“indeed.”
As Azadin and his party entered the forest the howls of a wolf began to ring out from somewhere.
Even though it was daytime and the sun had not yet set the howling of wolves could be heard and the rustling of the bushes sounded like people chatting and laughing.
Sounds were circling around them taunting them.
