    #154. Quartz Throne 8

    “Eek!”

    “Ahh!”

    The servants and maids scream.

Ancestor IV sat alone on his throne carrying their screams on his back. He tried to summon all the magic power within him to somehow reawaken the light of the King’s Flower and fight against those enemies but the throne did not move at all.

    ‘Is this… my fault?’

Ancestus IV was completely disillusioned after winning the bitter contest for the throne.

The descendants of the Yaegasu clan were by nature able to maintain their position once the throne was decided no matter how bad a person they were.

Even if the other brothers writhe and gnash their teeth in jealousy and envy once a decision is made there is no second chance for them.

So Ancestus IV enjoyed his victory. He enjoyed all the pleasures that he had to neglect as a prince the position of a king and the power of a king.

    Is this the result?

“Your Majesty! They say the outer wall can’t hold out!”

“The attacks of the Nagas who have merged with the Nether monsters are fierce…”

“They say that the knights have lost their power and their white magic has become weak and unusable!”

    “What should I do?!”

The soldiers were bringing bad news one after another.

“Give up the odd-numbered doors during the defense so that we can deploy the reserves and take turns.”

The multiple walls of Coral Sahar were sufficiently defended even if some of the gates were abandoned. The problem was that the soldiers were too exhausted.

“It’s only been four hours since we exchanged with the reserves.”

“Then I guess I’ll have to suck my thumb until I perish!”

    “your majesty.”

“This is what happened because of my lack of virtue. Who would have thought that the end of the long history of the Yaegas Gods would begin with me? Is it true that the only thing protecting us now is the multi-layered walls of Coral Sahar created with the wisdom of our ancestors? Hahaha.”

    Ancestor IV burst into laughter.

As the prophecy of the Age of Jupiter comes true the first place to fall will be his throne Coral Sahar.

But then suddenly a maid got up and started walking out.

“How presumptuous of you to do so Your Majesty.”

She simply tore off her maid’s attire and stood before Ancestus IV.

She was a very captivating beauty with black hair and deep purple eyes. She was taller than the maids by a head but she had not been noticed at all among the maids until just now.

With just this height and body it would have already attracted a lot of attention. If not there is no other way to explain it than by magic.

“May I dare sit on the throne?”

    “hmm….”

The king’s guards stepped forward but she walked forward without any hesitation.

“Are you Arael? You dare to claim to be a living goddess?”

Ancestor IV was no fool. He could easily guess the identity of the woman who appeared before him.

    “traitor!”

“Your Majesty! If you give the order I will handle it.”

The guards were surprised and indignant that the woman who had been hiding as a maid just a moment ago was Arael as they could easily be held responsible for their lax security.

If it were the past Ancestor IV it would have been like that…

The current Ancestor IV had no intention of persecuting the Praetorian Guard for that reason.

When his position as king was secure and he held absolute power he could urge his subordinates and say whatever he wanted but now he too has to be mindful of what others think.

Now that he was experiencing firsthand the futility of power he looked closely at this woman named Arael standing before him and felt an impulse to hand over the throne to her right away.

But to pass it on without doing anything would be to hurt his pride as the self-proclaimed last of the Yaegas. If he were to hand over the throne to her like this wouldn’t he be remembered in history books as a foolish king?

“I don’t remember making false claims but… if people can have that kind of faith and feel safe that’s not a bad thing. What people need right now is faith and security isn’t it? I think Your Majesty needs that too.”

“Then why not give that faith and reassurance to the people now? Stop this storm right now and get rid of those nagas. Then people will naturally admire you and I can share the throne I inherited from my ancestors with you. Or will you become my wife and share the crown?”

When Ancestus IV asked that Arael smiled.

Seeing her open her hands to stop the people behind her it seems she didn’t sneak in here alone.

‘I see that some of my subordinates are upset at the suggestion of getting married and sharing the crown. But I’ve become useless. I’m the last of the Yaegasu clan so my subordinates who aren’t even involved in the matter are upset at the suggestion of me getting married.’

How much do you have to underestimate him to get that angry?

    Then Arael opened her mouth.

“It is an honorable offer. However if you will give me the throne for a moment I can resolve this situation without much damage. If I cannot resolve this situation of course the throne will return to its rightful owner.”

“Haha. That is a generous offer. But as the last of the Yaegasu clan I would not give up the throne so vainly.”

Then a woman who seemed to be Arael’s subordinate among the maids came out and started jeering.

“That’s not it but what’s scary is the light from the crown shining when someone other than you sits on the throne!”

    “This is insolent!”

The captain of the guards couldn’t hold it in any longer and stepped forward. Drawing a sword in front of the king without his permission is punishable by severe punishment.

But I couldn’t just sit by and watch that blasphemous remark because it hit a sore spot.

I will definitely hold them accountable! That’s what the captain of the guards thought but…

Before the captain of the guard could draw his sword Arael waved her hand lightly.

It was clearly only about two chapters away but… a black shadow passed by the captain’s neck.

    “uh?”

The captain of the guard suddenly saw his eyes turn black.

His armored body suddenly soars into the sky.

No his head was separated from his body and fell down.

    “Eek?!”

    “eww….”

The guards who had been denouncing Arael until just a moment ago were terrified at the sight.

The captain of the guard was the most powerful warrior in the guard and a knight well known in the castle.

Those who saw such a person being killed so easily with just one blow without much resistance were reminded of Arael’s reputation.

    ‘That’s ridiculous.’

‘What kind of tragedy is this in the presence of the King!?’

But on the other hand I also felt a sense of anticipation.

‘Isn’t it true that this woman can overcome this situation?’

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the Naga army is on the verge of destruction outside the castle. The situation is hopeless.

In this situation the current king Ancestus IV has clearly proven that he is not worthy of the throne of Jaegas.

No matter how loyal one is to the King and how devout a believer in the King’s Church the grounds for criticizing the King are also fully contained within the teachings of the King’s Church.

“I have been rude in front of you. Please look upon it with mercy Your Majesty.”

    Arael smiled.

It was a truly charming smile.

“As a descendant of Emperor Yaeslat I also have the right to claim the throne. Please reconsider. Is there no need to shed innocent people’s blood?”

But then the throne room door opened and a loud voice was heard.

    “It’s a plot! Don’t listen to her!”

The one who entered the audience room was Azadin.

    “hmm?!”

The gaze of the vassals was focused on Azadin.

“Tell me. What is the conspiracy?”

“Those who had colluded with the Nagas had infiltrated the underground and were performing evil rituals there. They were extracting white magic from the throne weakening its power.”

Then voices of doubt began to arise among the people.

‘Then that’s right. A woman from the Herald clan is claiming the throne as a descendant of the Emperor. There must have been some trickery involved.’

‘But isn’t the guy who’s saying that also a messenger?’

‘And there’s no evidence? Where’s the evidence that he was conscious?’

There was a conflict between my desire to not trust the messenger clan and my desire to find some salvation right now to break through this situation.

Ancestor IV hesitated and asked Azadin a question.

    “What’s the evidence?”

    “There is nothing to ask.”

    Arael snorted.

“If you have resolved that consciousness wouldn’t it be possible to resolve this situation with the light of the King’s Flower?”

Arael now seemed to have given up even on paying false tributes and was openly demanding that the king resolve the situation immediately.

“Okay! Please resolve this situation quickly!”

It was then that everyone’s eyes were focused on Ancestus IV.

    -Pfft!

An arrow made of pitch-black steel was stuck in the chest of Ancetus IV. The black steel arrow pierced Ancetus IV’s heart.

    “ah!?”

    “assassination!”

    “Ugh…..”

Azadin frowned at the sudden event that occurred before his eyes.

‘Killing Ancestor IV!? Are you out of your mind?’

Confirming the incompetence of the owner of the throne and handing over the throne that must have been the big picture drawn by Arael.

But killing the king? If you eliminate the owner of the throne and sit on it it is difficult to evaluate yourself as a truly legitimate king just because you have properly displayed the light of the king.

This was because before Ancestus IV the light of the royal flower had never faded since the Yaegas clan sat on the throne.

Since everyone in the Yaegasu clan knew that anyone sitting on the throne would receive the light of the king’s flower it would be unwise to purge the existing king and sit in his place.

Azadin who was curious looked at Arael. But surprisingly even Arael was confused.

    ‘Isn’t this Arael’s doing?’

    “Kill the messenger clan!”

    “You soulless murderers!”

The excited guardsmen drew their weapons and began to charge.

    “this!”

Arael took a stance to protect herself when things went wrong. But then…

    “Everyone in their places.”

A bright female voice was heard. A woman with long silver hair tied up was approaching the throne.

    “….”

    “That’s ridiculous.”

Azadin opened his eyes wide at her. Arael was also taken aback by the unexpected figure.

    “Aldis!?”

Isn’t Aldis Jedah a woman who is like a godmother to Azadin and Arael standing before the throne?

    And that’s not all.

“This is the presence of Aldis Jedah grandson of Emperor Yaeslat. Everyone please refrain from being rude.”

A tall elf whom Azadin was also familiar with was assisting Aldis. Judging from the fact that he was holding a bow it must have been he who fired the arrow that killed Ancetus IV.

    “Master?!”

Elder Kazas who had created the Kazas Sea and given power to Azadin picked up the body of Ancetus IV who had fallen on the throne and threw it.

The one who had been the most honored being in Coral Sahar until just moments ago was now rolling around the floor like slaughtered meat.

    “….”

    “ah.”

Even Arael froze at the shocking sight. While the heralds of the Arael tribe were also perplexed Aldis sat on the throne.
