    #153. Quartz Throne 7

‘But strong…. No how can I become this strong? Even considering that I’m not in perfect condition right now. Even if I were in perfect condition would I be able to defeat this guy?’

Dimia had no choice but to cast a spell to heal Krasley’s twisted knee.

    “Ugh.”

Thanks to the overflowing white magic Krasley’s body was completely restored. Since Azadin had threatened Krasley could not get up and was watching Azadin’s expression.

    “Who can heal completely?”

“No there’s nothing I can do about it Azadin. I’m not that good with white magic either.”

“Come to think of it how do you handle white magic? You probably don’t have a grimoire right?”

    “Arael gave it to me.”

    “Arael?”

“Yes. He gave me a translation of part of the Shinwangjinseo. Isn’t it amazing? If we just collect all the Shinwangjinseo copies Arael will free us from the curse.”

“Hmm. So that’s why everyone is obsessed with Arael.”

Azadin was secretly surprised. They were able to use such healing magic just by interpreting a part of the copy of the New King’s Book that the Arael tribe had obtained.

If all the copies were collected wouldn’t that mean Arael would have mastered the Book of the New King?

Now I think I understand why even proud people like the Etar clan support Arael.

‘Am I really the only one who’s becoming a traitor? Is this okay?’

    But Azadin changed his mind.

‘No matter what it doesn’t justify summoning the Nether’s reaper and massacring the Hybrisians. If you have that kind of power why don’t you just collect copies of the Book of the New King? Why are you carrying out such senseless massacres?’

    Azadin asked Zibek.

“Sir Zibek. Strangle Krasley until he passes out.”

    “Huh? Um… uh.”

Zibek was confused. In his opinion Krasley was no easy opponent. To strangle and knock out this opponent?

    “Don’t kill me.”

    “….”

As Jibek approached Krasley Krasley seemed unsure whether to resist or not. As Jibek and Krasley’s gazes met Dimia nodded to Krasley.

“Damn. What the hell is this.”

Krasley did not resist the hand of Zibek that was strangling him and just passed out.

“Then let’s go back to the surface. Leave Krasley as is and Demia. I’ll tie your hands and feet.”

    “…okay.”

Dimia grumbled as Azadin tied her hands and feet tightly.

“The blood isn’t flowing. Aren’t you tying it too tightly?”

“If I tie it lightly it’ll come off right?”

“By the way when did Azadin get so strong? I knew you mastered the Kazas technique but was he this strong? Can you tell me your secret?”

“I study thoroughly in advance and review and I pay attention to rest and nutrition.”

    “….”

What Azadin said was the answer that Dimia used when she was young when the boys and girls of Azadin’s riders asked her questions.

Azadin tied Dimia’s arms and legs tightly and lifted her up.

“Then let’s go back to the surface. We can’t just let Arael deal with the disaster she brought about and act like she’s the savior.”

    ‘It’s pretty good.’

Flower Dimia was secretly amazed as she was captured by Azadin and moved through the underpass.

‘Deal with the disaster brought by Arael and act like a savior.’

It was a precise vision of the plan of the tribe of Arael.

The tribe of Arael made an alliance with the Nagas in exchange for providing them with copies of the already-translated Book of the New King promising to scatter the light of the King’s Fire for them and summon messengers from the Nether.

To this end the sea serpent nagas prepared to summon the Nether’s messengers through a huge number of human sacrifices and mobilized their armies to invade Korhal Sahar.

The sacrifices that the Nagas made to mobilize all of this storm army must have been enormous.

By threatening Coral Sahar with the Nether Reaper as a scapegoat Arael sits on the throne of Coral Sahar and uses her power to repel the Nether Reaper.

By declaring to the world that Arael is the rightful heir to the throne as the Emperor’s bloodline he undermines the majesty of the King’s Church and declares that the Herald Clan is no longer a persecuted being but rather a savior who will overcome the coming Age of Jupiter’s destruction.

That was the plan of the tribe of Arael.

‘Although messengers learn politics and military strategies this guy is smart. Is he really Arael’s twin? Now that I think about it it’s said that those born with the curse of service become messengers with the greatest talent. Until now I thought that Arael was the only one who benefited from the curse but now that I think about it this guy might be the same?’

Dimia was amazed at Azadin’s intelligence.

    *********

When I swam out of the flooded area the servants of the messenger clan were waiting outside.

    “hmm?”

    “Dimia?!”

They were shocked to see that Azadin had tied Dimia’s hands and feet with ropes and made her look like livestock to be sold at a market.

“Ah. Calm down everyone. This is because the magic ritual failed. Right?”

    “…huh.”

    Dimia could only nod.

The servants looked suspicious but Dimia hugged Azadin and spoke to him in a friendly manner.

“He’s Arael’s younger sister. Trust me.”

    “uh?”

Those who were watching were shocked but Azadin calmly spoke to the servants of the messenger clan.

“So what about the Nether Reaper?”

“It’s not a mess right now. Some of the sea serpent nagas are changing into the Nether’s servants… It seems like the nagas are out of control.”

“The captured people are dying. The frenzied Nagas are eating people.”

“The gates are still being attacked but the knights’ white magic seems to be weakening so they seem to be getting pushed back.”

“Is that so? What about Arael?”

    “Arael we are also well….”

“You said you would show up when needed so I think you’re nearby but I’m not sure.”

“Okay? Okay. Then I’ll go to Wangseong.”

    “Yes. What should we do?”

“If we get pushed back too much it’ll be a headache so help me deal with the Nagas. We’ve been allies up to this point haven’t we?”

    “Yes I understand.”

The servants nodded to Azadin and turned to leave.

    “Oh wait. Before that.”

    “yes.”

    “Give me some arrows.”

Azadin did not forget to replenish his supply of arrows.

    *********

Every time the lightning flashed a huge shadow would be cast over the sea. Now even those without any magical talents could see the shadow of the Nether Reaper.

    “Eek!”

“It is the age of Jupiter!”

    “Oh my God. Oh gods.”

“Eek… Don’t look. When we look at them they look at us!”

People trembled at the mere shadow of the Nether Reaper.

Although it has not yet directly intervened in the present world the shadow of a giant that towers higher than a lighthouse despite being half-submerged in the sea is enough to make one lose their will to fight.

“Ugh. I will abandon the false gods of the past. God of the Nether. Please tell me your name and I will submit to you!”

Among them there were those who begged for mercy from the god of the Nether refusing to believe in the Yaegasu clan.

“You crazy bastards! What are you doing! Get out of the way!”

NCOs began kicking away the frenzied men and bringing in wooden furniture to reinforce the doors and driveways.

    “You’ve had a hard time.”

Azadin walked proudly forward praising their hard work.

    “Ugh? You?”

“I am Azadin the Emperor’s messenger 108th Commander! Ancestor IV himself has personally ordered me to make way.”

    “….”

“Do you know what this is?”

Azadin showed the necklace of underwater breathing that he received from Ancetus IV.

    “Hmm. That’s true.”

The commander was embarrassed when he realized that it was the necklace the king usually wore.

“Tch! This is what happens when you join hands with the likes of the Herald Clan!”

“Ah. Are you criticizing the king now?”

Azadin looked at one of the grumbling sergeants and asked.

“Okay get in! Damn it. We’re all dead! What the hell is this because of that stupid king!”

“What a foolish king. When times get tough you change the object of your worship too easily.”

“Yes. Say whatever you want. If we’re still alive tomorrow we’ll gladly accept the punishment!”

The sergeant grumbled as he packed up his weapons and headed to his assigned location.

Although he spoke harshly he seemed to be carrying out his mission.

    “hmm….”

Azadin watched the scene closely and walked towards the castle.

    *********

    -Wow!

A gigantic giant roars across the sea beyond the storm.

At the same time huge boulders fall from the sky like volcanic bombs.

It falls all over the city of Coral Sahar creating huge water columns in the flooded areas and some even crashing into buildings spires and stone walls exploding themselves to their deaths.

Those that land safely on the ground without exploding unroll their curled bodies and begin to move by stepping on the ground with their multi-jointed bodies and countless senses of touch.

    “Eek!”

    “Ugh!”

While the soldiers were terrified by the monsters pouring down from the sky the sea serpent nagas in a frenzy willingly approached the spherical monsters and offered their bodies.

As the round snail-like monster opened its mouth a mouth as thick as a human arm and as sharp as a dagger was revealed. The snail-like monster used it to pierce the back of Naga’s head sucking out his brain and attaching its body to the sea serpent Naga.

The sea serpent Naga’s eyes rolled back and foam started to come out of his mouth… and soon the two of them rose as one and a blackish poison began to flow from his entire body.

    “What the heck! That is!”

    “Damn it! Shoot!”

The soldiers fired bolts from the walls at the Naga who had mutated into a heavy crossbow. But the Naga leaned forward and blocked the iron bars with the calluses of the Nether monster that clung to its back.

    -Ting!

To my surprise there was a loud crash and the iron bars bounced off.

    “uh?”

    “That’s ridiculous!”

The power of the heavy crossbow was enough to easily penetrate one person.

But that heavy crossbow slides. Not all of them but those that hit accurately will get pierced but those that hit at a bad angle will slip.

    “oh my god!”

“Wake up! Keep shooting! Pikemen! Block the approach!”

Under the orders of the non-commissioned officers the soldiers with spears stepped forward and the crossbowmen immediately reloaded their crossbows.

A fierce battle between the mutated sea serpent nagas and soldiers began to unfold in the storm combined with the presence of the Nether.

    *********

Ancestor IV sat on the quartz throne of the Yaegas tribe with his eyes closed.

Outside the window lightning flashed followed by thunder. In the clear lightning that illuminated the ground his face was frozen like a stone statue.

    -Growling!

In the midst of the storm the roar of a giant monster is faintly heard.

And then something pours down from the sky. The giant in the storm sprays something from its mouth which is carried by the wind and falls all over the castle of Coral Sahar.

When some of them hit the royal spire the spire shook and the vibrations were transmitted to the royal throne room.
