Night of the Soulless Heathens – 127

#127. Parallel Lines of Emotions 1
Are you saying that Arael the traitor of the Herald Clan is here now?
Azadin looked at the soldier half in doubt.
“How do you know that?”
“That’s what I was told to prepare for.”
“There is chaos in the castle right now because of the guards.”
“Is that so?”
“yes.”
“Okay then should I knock you out?”
When Azadin said that the soldiers were surprised.
“Sir Guillaume Wald. We have been hoping for your return.”
“Yes we are just soldiers so what would be the point of what we say…”
“Please let us help you.”
“Well I appreciate your consideration but I can’t do that.”
Guillaume Wald told the soldiers so and gestured to Azadin.
“Don’t kill me.”
“Don’t worry about anything.”
Azadin strangled them knocking them unconscious and laying them down beside him.

Count Lantarik’s castle was a large mansion on a hill surrounded by watchtowers and outer walls. It was the pinnacle of castle construction technology taking into account all aspects including convenience of residence and defensive capabilities.
In the innermost part of the castle in the residence of Count Lantaric Prince Adler was already occupying everything.
“Yes. Is this Arael from the famous messenger clan?”
Prince Adler smiled when he saw Arael the leader of the Arael tribe of messengers who had come to visit his castle.
She is wearing a pitch-black glossy suit of armor made of some sort the thin yet sturdy material revealing her body.
The beauty with her long black hair tied back and purple eyes was looking at Adler with an arrogant gaze.
‘A woman who arouses the desire to conquer in men. Is this woman the leader of the traitorous group of the Herald Clan? That means if she gets her hands on this she can rule the Herald Clan?’

The moment Adler saw Arael his breath caught in his throat with a boiling desire for conquest.
“I stopped by to check on a business partner. I heard there were a lot of complaints about the way we do business.”
“Yes. I should hear your apology for failing to protect my father even though your men were attached to him.”
When Adler said that the messengers sitting with Arael were startled.
A cold chill emanated from them but Adler had demanded from the beginning that they surrender all their weapons and come empty-handed when they met.
On the other hand behind the curtains of the conference room there were heavy soldiers with halberds waiting so even if they were a herald clan they would not be able to act rashly. Adler thought so.
“This kid… How dare you!”
“Are you trying to insult us?”
“Insult? You are the ones insulting me you soulless blasphemous people. You and I are of different bloodlines.”
When Adler said that Arael’s subordinates could not help but feel astonished.
“Stop. You guys don’t talk. Confucius is talking to me.”
Arael stopped his men.
“Yeah. We left your father missing. I’m sorry about that.”
Arael willingly apologized to Adler.
“Yes. Didn’t you make a contract with your father? And yet you couldn’t keep that contract and yet you want the key to the Emperor’s treasury? Wouldn’t a deal be possible if you gave and received what you had to?”
“That certainly makes sense. First of all let me apologize for the matter of your father Count Garnahair. We are also investigating what happened.”
Arael said with a bright smile.
“I’m glad you know what manners are. Not only is your appearance good but your attitude is also charming. I like you more and more.”
“….”
Arael’s subordinates were shocked by Adler’s reckless actions. If Arael did not stop him they would tear Adler to pieces right away.
“That’s why I came here to apologize in person. I wanted to show my sincerity.”
“I like your attitude. However your self-evaluation is too high. Do you think that all the losses will be forgiven if you just show up on your own? You’ve lost soldiers non-commissioned officers and knights. Above all you’ve lost your father the center of the family so the damage is severe. A few words won’t fix that damage.”
“forgiveness?”
The messenger clan members who were listening frowned.
They were the highest ranking officials of the Arael tribe and held absolute positions among the heralds. In front of those who had sworn allegiance to Arael this arrogant noble child dared to belittle the value of Arael.
“We are descendants of the Yaegasu clan and I stand at the top of it. Normally just trading with you would be….”
“That’s what I’m talking about.”
Arael smiled.
“I am a descendant of Harconia.”
“Harcony?”
“He is the old leader of our herald clan.”
“What great bloodline are you the leader of the soulless blasphemies bragging about? If I were you I would rather hide it.”
“…!”
Arael calmed down his angry subordinates and spoke with a bright smile.
“I thought so. The blood of the Yaegasu Gods is the best isn’t it?”
“Of course. It’s ridiculous to judge the bloodline of you ungodly people and their status within it.”
“But listen carefully. Harconia was the Emperor’s lover. In fact they even had a child together. Do you understand what I mean? The Emperor’s blood flows through our messenger clan… and these purple eyes are proof of Emperor Yaeslat. Even if you compare the blood of the Yaegas I’m probably darker than you.”

The original characteristics of the Yaegas gods were blond hair and blue-gray eyes but Emperor Yaeslat who betrayed his brothers and monopolized the eight thrones for himself is said to have had black hair and purple eyes unlike his brothers.
Adler who had been boasting about his Yaegasu clan blood for a while seemed speechless and then clicked his tongue.
“Ha but the Emperor…..”
“That’s true. The blood that flows through my veins doesn’t really matter. What’s important is who I am now.”
Arael secretly complained to Adler who was only relying on bloodlines. However Adler seemed to have interpreted it differently.
“I see. You have a bloodline with some foundation right? Well if you didn’t you wouldn’t have been able to become the leader of the rebel army of the messenger clan at that age. Alright. How about being my lover?”
“…lover?”
Arael’s men were already at the limit of their patience. Whether Arael stopped them or not they would kill this blasphemous Adler and then be punished by Arael.
Everyone was furious and about to move. Then Arael waved her hand.
-Warm!
“Ugh!”
With a cheerful sound the heads of Arael’s two subordinates a man and a woman turned around. Arael had beaten up her subordinates.
“Everyone wake up. Are you calm now?
“I’m sorry.”
“….”
If Adler had even a little bit of martial arts knowledge he would have been surprised at how fast and swift Arael’s movements were just now. If Arael’s men had attacked Adler before he was slapped there would have been no way for him to deal with it.
But Adler was so drunk on drugs that he watched what was happening before his eyes as if it were someone else’s business.
“What does it mean to be my lover?”
Arael calmed his men down and asked Adler.
“I want the blood of the Emperor. The blood of a mutated god different from the blood of the regular Yaegas. However since I am destined to become Count Lantaric I cannot formally marry a soulless blasphemer like the Herald Clan.”
Those words made the subordinates even more angry. They had barely calmed down after being slapped by Arael but Adler’s words broke their patience once again.
“I’ve heard enough dog whining.”
“Should I kill him? This guy will probably have the key to the Emperor’s treasure trove on him anyway.”
“No. Wait a minute.”
Arael stopped them.
“You can come in instead.”
“….”
The door opened and the soldiers waiting outside collapsed. And the ones who came inside were Azadin Midiam and Ismail.
“Excuse me for bothering you while you’re busy.”
Azadin said so and glared at Arael.
“Arael. Why didn’t you just keep working? It was getting fun.”
“What the heck are you guys?!”
Adler was shocked that his men were dealt with silently. He had been confident that his men were armed and the Heralds were unarmed but how could someone who looked like a Herald come in?
“It’s been a long time little brother. It’s been a really long time since I became Kazas’ disciple. Ten years perhaps?”
Arael welcomed Azadin.
“Huh? Little brother? These guys?”
Prince Adler not knowing the relationship between Arael and Azadin simply assumed that Arael had made her younger brother move separately to intrude into this place.
Even though Adler’s brain was dulled by the drugs he could tell that this situation was dangerous.
“You’re the younger sibling. Twins don’t have anything to inherit so isn’t it a trivial matter of who’s older and who’s younger? It’s disgusting to be obsessed with such things.”
“I think so too. So why don’t you just be my younger sibling?”
“I hate it because it makes me feel dirty.”
Azadin said and waved his hand. Guillaume Wald and the other party came in through the door.
“Guillaume Wald?!”
“Adler…?”
Guillaume Wald looked at Adler with a trembling expression.
“Hey! Messengers! Kill Guillaume Wald!”
Despite Adler’s orders Arael and his men just laughed and pretended not to hear.
“Ugh…..”
“You foolish youngest brother. You dragged in things you couldn’t handle. Well I’m not in a position to talk about others am I?”
Guillaume Wald knew Arael the moment he saw her.
Not human.
According to mythology dragons true angels and demons roam the earth in human form. I think that’s exactly what it is. Just looking at it makes your spine tingle with its beauty and power.
In some ways I can’t help but admire Adler. Is he in his right mind to ask this kind of thing to become his lover?
It’s like dragging an active volcano to use as a fireplace because the house is cold in the winter. How much indifference or bravery does one have to have to say something like that?
“Hey how did you get in here?”
“Underpass.”
“But there…..”
“They must have laid down the undead.”
“Yes! Father’s failures! They must have been formidable!”
Are you talking about Necro Angel?
Scott must have been pretty confident in his undead amulets because he got through them so easily.
“Arael! Kill Guillaumewald quickly or this alliance is over!”
“But Prince Adler. Then wouldn’t it be okay to make a deal with Sir Guillaumewald? What we want is the key to the Emperor’s treasury. If you give it to us it wouldn’t be a problem if we receive it from Sir Guillaumewald instead of you?”
“What? These traitors!”
Adler then began casting a spell. As expected of a necromancer a powerful and evil force surrounded him but…
-puck!
Adler’s hands which had been tied together were cut off.
