Night of the Soulless Heathens – 116

Sir Broc who killed the Spider Woman was so shocked that his legs gave out and he couldn’t move.
“Are you alright Sir Brock?”
Jibek supported Brock like that.
“I’m sorry. I showed you a bad side of myself.”
“I know you must be in a lot of mental pain. But still….”
There is still danger.
‘And that risk would be your wife.’
Jibek couldn’t bring himself to say that.
But then suddenly the surrounding sounds disappeared. It felt like the sound had been absorbed by something like cotton absorbing water.
Without anyone saying who should go first everyone looked up at the sky. A mountain appeared above the thick fog. The mountain exposed above the ground covered in fog like clouds looked so majestic that it seemed unreal.
however….
The mountain moves.
“Is that… a monster from the nether?”
Azadin frowned.
It was a huge beast covered in fur. It had a human-like appearance covered in gray fur and was also a hairy human or bear-like thing.
The only difference is the body that is so huge that it feels majestic and the obvious sense of alienation that you feel from it. The disgusting feeling as if you are seeing something that should not exist in this world makes every pore on your body stand on end.
At that moment the monster lifted something like a front leg. No I could tell it was trying to lift it. Its body was so huge that it only appeared to move slowly when viewed from here.
But then a gust of wind rose from the ground.
“Damn it! Oh it’s coming!”
Azadin and his party immediately fled to the side of the building’s stone wall. But would a human-made structure be able to withstand such a huge monster swinging its front legs?
Indeed. The giant monster’s front legs clawed at the ground and passed through the wall clawing at Sir Brock who had not yet escaped.
“Eek!?”
Sir Brock shivered in surprise… but nothing happened.
As if in a mirage or an illusion the giant monster’s front legs simply passed through Sir Brock.

But a strong wind followed and Sir Brock was thrown along the ground like a stone. Swept by the wind Sir Brock crashed into a rafter that had been abandoned on the ground.
“Ugh!”
“Oh. My God! The Nether Monster! It hasn’t fully manifested in our world yet but it’s not far away! If the wind starts to move it’ll be here soon!”
“I’m going to scream” said Orc necromancer Scott McGreen clutching at the ropes on the floor as he sat in his recovered wheelchair.
“That… is going to manifest? Soon?”
Azadin was terrified at the sight of the giant mountain-like monster.
Sir Brock is alive because he has not yet taken physical form but if such a giant monster takes physical form…
Its mere presence is threatening. If you fall down once or twice while walking an earthquake will occur.
“We have to kill the spellcaster before it manifests! Otherwise everyone in this area including us will die!”
“But if you are a surgeon.”
Sir Brock stood up. He had been swept away by the gust of wind generated by the giant monster but his full plate armor was so good that it protected him from the impact.
“Aren’t you suggesting that we kill my wife?!”
“….”
Everyone looked at Sir Brock in shock.
“If you had managed your household properly in the first place this wouldn’t have happened!”
Brand took a sharp turn.
“I know I was wrong! But this is too much! Everyone does it so why is this so cruel happening to me!?”
“You’re still a kid. Hmm?”
Then a wolf howls from afar. As the wind blows the giant monster of the nether becomes transparent and disappears again.
“It disappeared?”
“It’s not gone! It’s just that it can’t manifest in this world yet. The light of the King’s Flower is preventing its existence from manifesting in this world!”
As Scott explained the webs suddenly began to freeze. Black magic gathered around the corpses of Naga and Were Rats that were caught in the webs and began to raise them again.
“Yes necromancy!”
“It’s not me.”
As Scott spoke the corpses began to mutate.
-Thud thud…
The skeletons of the corpses broke apart their skin burst open and hair grew inside. Thick strong hairs like the fur of a Kerim goat grew and horns sprouted from the heads of the corpses. And a terrible cold air emanated from their breath.
“So this is what’s freezing them.”
A monster that looked like a miniature version of a giant Nether monster appeared before them.
*********
“…is the story.”
Azadin explained to Shati what had happened so far then pulled out the sword on his waist and examined the blade. The blade was broken and twisted making it unusable.
“So that’s why you came here?”
“Yes. It wasn’t as big as the bell tower of Karagala or anything. The mountain was moving.”
“The bell tower of Karagala is also incredibly tall?!”
“I suppose so. But have you ever seen it with your own eyes? It collapsed when the Naga Empire fell so you probably haven’t seen it since then?”
“Ugh. Still….”

“Now is not the time to be fighting over pride with that monster and the buildings from the days of the Naga Empire. If that thing manifests the fight between the Yaegas and Kurt gods will not be a problem.”
Azadin flicked the body of the sword with his fingers and clicked his tongue. He placed the sword against the wall and looked at the trapdoor entrance through which Shati had entered.
The trapdoor at the top of the stairs was too small to allow the Kerim goats that Azadin and Ismail Midiam had brought in as well as the knights’ horses to enter.
“Sweater. You stay here. And um…..”
Azadin took his weapons from his saddle. He hesitated between a gleaming sword and a decent steel sword then strapped both to his waist.
“Those monsters had thick fur so the blade easily cut through them.”
Then he took out a short spear and gave it to Brand. Brand also broke the weapon while fighting the monsters.
“Thank you.”
“No. I am more grateful. Sir Jibek…?”
“I would also like to request a weapon change.”
The steel sword of the Jeebek was also dull. It was not impossible to sharpen it again but in this situation it was not possible to sharpen it leisurely.
“Ugh. My weapons inventory is running out in an instant.”
Azadin grumbled and took out his ram saddlebag and distributed weapons to his men. Azadin’s ram groaned in joy at the lighter load.
“I’m hungry. Can I have something to eat?”
Scott found something to eat even in this situation.
“Then shall we go to the underpass? Sir Brock. You are the lord of this place so please guide me.”
“I don’t know much about it either. When I inherited the vassal contract here from my father I went through the underpass once but at the time I only knew that the city that had been built a long time ago had sunk so a new town was built on top and the old city had become an underground waterway and sewer.”
“Don’t you know the way inside?”
“A map showing the route is made on a large copper plate and kept in each section. If you copy it you won’t get lost.”
“Hmm. Really? Does your wife know about this place?”
“You probably know.”
“That’s bad news.”
Azadin and his men took supplies from the saddlebags of their horses and goats and reorganized them. They then struck the Naga’s body on the ground with an axe cutting off its arms and neck.
“let’s go!”

“But what the hell are you guys?”
Sir Brock was curious about Azadin and his party.
“I was wondering that too.”
Guillaume Wald was also curious about Azadin and his group.
“Haha. We are seekers of chivalry.”
Brand puffed out his chest and spoke proudly.
“….”
“Tch. Nonsense…..”
Shati grumbled and shook her head.
“First this side is a prisoner and this side is a defector who promised to become a mercenary instead of becoming a prisoner.”
“Huh? Why are you treating me and that orc differently?”
“You ran away again this time?”
“I treated you too didn’t I?”
“So he’s alive. Otherwise I would have killed him a long time ago.”
“Even if you say that if you listen closely to what they mean it seems like they don’t want to kill me unless absolutely necessary. Phew. Well it seems like people are often captivated by my beauty.”
“Now be quiet. If you’re not quiet in the underpass our approach will be signaled to the other party.”
Azadin said so and began to walk quietly. When Azadin and Ismail Midiam walked quietly not even the sound of their footsteps could be heard.
but….
-Dalgrak.
-Clang.
Knights wearing metal armor could not easily reduce the sound of their footsteps no matter how hard they tried.
The one who was amazing was Brand. In his case he was wearing a flimsy suit of armor made by inserting iron plates over old leather armor which made a creaking sound whenever he walked.
“…I guess I’ll have to give up on covert activities.”
Azadin quickly gave up and walked forward.
“Are you okay? It’s so dark?”
“ah….”
Azadin’s eyesight can penetrate the darkness but most people cannot. Even fellow Aragasas like Ismail and Midiam cannot see the point of no light like Azadin.
“here.”
Scott picked up some rocks from the ground and recited a spell to make them glow. It was a simple colorless spell but Scott cast a glowing spell on several rocks and distributed them to the group.
Judging by his attitude of not caring much about the consumption of magical power this level of magic seemed like nothing to him.
‘He’s a guy who talks about being a genius so he probably doesn’t have no skills.’
Azadin took the glowstone held it in his hand and walked forward.
The inside of the subway should be damp and stink from the moss and mold that seeps in from above… but there is no smell. The air is freezing the water is freezing and the moss and mold on the walls are all frozen and crumbling.
“It’s cold.”
“It feels like the cold air is trapped underneath. It’s colder underneath.”
“The floor is like ice.”
Azadin and his party carefully buttoned up their collars and went inside.
After a while they arrived at the confluence where the underground passages met. Inside the large confluence where the sewage from the upper floors and the groundwater flowed in an orc was sitting with an axe and spear.
Across from him stood a Bthumaine woman with black hair dark skin and a voluptuous body.
“Liz!”
Sir Brock recognized her and called her name.
“You can say my name so well Brock!”
“I was wrong!”
“Do you know what you did wrong?!”
“that….”
“Okay. Enough. There’s something more going on than a fight between you two right now. Calm down for now.”
Azadin prevented the couple from clashing emotionally. Meanwhile the orc necromancer Scott noticed the orc confronting the lord’s wife.
“Isn’t that Walter?”
“So you’re Scott? You used to ride a wheelchair to avoid gaining muscle but it looks like you’ve gained a lot of muscle in the meantime.”
“Because you’ve been busy. What happened?”
“Ask that woman. If you come between me and that woman right now you’ll be in big trouble.”
“…illustration.”
Scott picked up a rock from the ground and threw it between the orc and the lady.
-Snap!
The stone exploded with electric sparks. If the stone shattered like that it’s terrifying to imagine what would happen if a person were to enter it.
