#106. Orc must die 2
“What?”
“I can greatly enhance your white magic Paladin. Is that all?”
Scott looked at Azadin.
“I can also enhance that strange power you use.”
“….”
“My employment contract with Nagadul has just ended. I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to choose you as my new employer.”
“You will serve me. Can I interpret it to mean that?”
“It’s just a give-and-take contractual relationship. But yeah. You have the initiative. As long as you don’t do something too stupid.”
Azadin sighed. In fact even if it was half as good as Scott McGreen said Azadin had no reason to refuse this offer. He had to accept it.
“Understood. Orc Necromancer.”
“Scott McGreen.”
“Let’s accept the contract.”
“What a wise choice. Let your generations boast about today’s choice.”
“I’m already starting to regret it a little bit?”
Azadin began to regret whether he had done the right thing.

Azadin attached a wheelchair to his goat and began to pull Scott. In the end while Azadin walked Scott sat in the wheelchair.
“Are you being too easy on the subject of prisoners?”
Medium took offense to that but Scott asked.
“Then give me some of those corpses you are burying and burning. I will cast necromancy on their muscles and bones so that I can push my wheelchair.”
“It is intolerable to mock a lion.”
Zibek objected. Azadin a believer in angels also objected to that point.
“Okay. Just tell him to get in the wheelchair. He’s the type of person who would die if he gained muscle mass.”
“It’s not like I’m just going to go. I’ll share some of my knowledge with you as I go. I don’t know if you guys can understand it but those who are born as geniuses also have to learn how to live with ordinary people and geniuses.”
Scott McGreen said it as if he was doing a favor.

*********
There is a story that says that when you see an orc you want to kill it.
Anyone in their right mind would want to run away from these evil races with muscular bodies and magic skills that are scary to look at. Orcs’ arms are thicker than a person’s thighs. The muscles that are packed all over their body remind you of violence even if you don’t like it.
However rumors said that seeing an orc would make you feel a surge of murderous intent. It was a story that was hard to believe until you actually met an orc.
But now that I’ve met you I understand.
“Wow every word you say is like a jewel I want to kill you.”
The medium could not stand it any longer and showed his murderous intent.
“You’re trying to turn a minor frustration into murder? How many people have you killed so far? Born with that intelligence you must have met many people who were superior to you and if you were overcome by the urge to kill them every time then tsk tsk. Your evil deeds must be greater and deeper than mine a necromancer.”
If you can’t speak you won’t be hated. Medium was furious but Azadin stopped him.
“If you keep talking to her she’ll start listening more. Just leave her alone.”
“yes?”
“Rather than that let’s hear about the copy of the New King’s Book. First of all why did the New King’s Book disappear? Where on earth did the copy of the New King’s Book go and why are they only appearing now? How are you guys going to find the New King’s Book? What does it mean to manifest the New King’s Book?”
When Azadin asked Scott snorted.
“You’re so greedy. Why are you asking so many questions? Let me explain calmly. First I have to talk about the Light of the King’s Flower and the Book of the New King. The Light of the King’s Flower used by the Yaegasu Gods is a system that circulates white magic under strong restrictions. It is a huge system that turns people’s faith and respect into power and the Book of the New King’s Flower is the blueprint for that system and the essence of the restrictions. The Book of the New King’s Flower is another form and essence of the Light of the King’s Flower. Do you understand up to this point?”
Scott was doubting Azadin’s intelligence. Is that understandable? Such doubt was more insulting than having someone swear at him in front of him.
Azadin sighed as he pulled Scott’s wheelchair which was connected to the goat by ropes.
“I understand that much. I was a magician’s apprentice too. So?”
“When your messenger clan stole the copy of the Divine King’s Book the light of the King’s Flower was already seriously damaged. The Yaegas gods that is your human kings and nobles were corrupted and the light of the King’s Flower was weakening so your messenger clan made a huge sacrifice to create a copy of the Divine King’s Book. But it ended up being absorbed by the light of the King’s Flower.”
“what?”
“That’s a story I can’t hear.”
Jibek who had been listening was indignant. In fact Jibek a paladin could not stand their gathering at all. To be with Nagana Orcs who were members of the Kurt clan.
Of course they are Azadin’s prisoners but Scott still calls Azadin his employer and Shati is also walking on her own two feet without being bound.
If another paladin were to see this kind of appearance he would be in an awkward position. That alone would be maddening and disorienting but this insolent orc captive would insult the king’s church right before his eyes.
“Hmm do you think the king and nobles are not corrupt? Paladin?”
“…It’s fallen. That orc is right.”
Brand supported Oak’s words.
“ah.”
Zibek also knew Brand’s circumstances.
Yes. It’s just Xibek’s insistence that the kings and nobles are not corrupt. In fact many kings and nobles are corrupt and even Xibek’s teacher Zect was not corrupt?
“Wait a minute the Shinwangjinseo was absorbed by the light of the Wanghwa? Didn’t someone blow it away in the wind at the end of the world?”
“What? Did you think that the Shinwangjinseo would fly around on the wind and appear all over the world? I knew that humans were stupid but I didn’t think it would be that much. The imagination of a fool never ceases to amaze me.”
Azadin was fed up with this orc’s casual verbal abuse.
‘Hey is this kid really crazy? He’s a prisoner so why is he talking so carelessly? Isn’t he afraid that his own neck will be cut off?’
But if what this orc said is true then what did Azadin hear?
Azadin’s existence is the cursed child born during the usurpation of the Shinwangjinseo. It has been ingrained in our ears that Azadin’s father is none other than the traitor Acre who spread the Shinwangjinseo throughout the world.
But that’s not it. It was just that the light of the king’s flower had weakened.
‘Are you saying it’s not Dad’s fault? Then?’

Azadin asked thinking about it.
“Then why didn’t it appear before and why is it appearing now?”
“That’s because the light of the King’s Flower has grown weaker. The Age of Jupiter is approaching and the descendants of Yaegas are realizing that their blood is thinning. More nobles and royalty are betraying and leaving the light of the King’s Flower and as corruption accelerates the light of the King’s Flower grows weaker creating a vicious cycle.”
Scott also mentioned the Age of Jupiter.
“Do you who serve the Kurt clan also believe in the Age of Jupiter?”
When Jebeck asked Scott clicked his tongue.
“You who serve the Yaegas Gods seem to believe that the Yaegas Gods defeated the darkness of this world and opened a new era. Originally that was the myth of our Kurt Gods. Your myth usurped and plagiarized it. It was the Kurt Gods that we serve who made this land a land of life against the evil gods of the Nether. When we were weakened by that struggle the Yaegas Gods came and usurped the position that should have been ours.”
“Then you too will fear the age of Jupiter.”
“So isn’t that why everyone is running around so diligently these days?”
Certainly. Azadin had met with followers of several Kurt gods so far. It was a movement to somehow secure power and influence in the face of the prophecy of destruction known as the Age of Jupiter.
“So. How can I find a copy of the New King’s Book?”
“The Book of the New King is fused with the light of the King’s Flower. And the light of the King’s Flower is a constraint and an oath. When the people are in danger the Book of the New King will appear.”
“So you’re saying that you’re trying to manifest it by abusing and murdering people?”
“This is something that many of the Yaegasu gods and you human nobles already know. Don’t you also have something on your mind?”
Is Count Lantaric’s massacre of people part of that?
In that regard even though the residents were suffering from drought the Salasma County government prioritized punishment over relief. This may have also been a means to manifest the New King’s Book.
“Rather I use a much more intelligent method. In places where many people have died and the light of the King’s Flower has weakened significantly I can use my magic to manifest the Book of the New King.”
“So you did not participate in the massacre of civilians. Is that your claim? How can I believe that this is not an excuse?”
“I hate irreversible choices. I can manifest the Book of the New King with my magic but I don’t want to kill humans and make them irreversible.”
“A necromancer?”
“Magic that manipulates and uses corpses efficiently is reasonable. And even if I don’t kill them myself there are still corpses in this world. Necromancy is a very reversible magic and can be used without necessarily killing people. But I see. I will admit that the prisoners the soldiers were holding may have been killed by the undead I created. Then it’s unreasonable to make you believe that I didn’t kill people. I don’t know.”
Azadin clicked his tongue when he heard that.
‘This guy really had no interest in massacring civilians.’
“So what are you going to do? Are you going to kill me?”
“no.”
Azadin shook his head.
“I won’t kill you. I’ll just take you as a prisoner until you pay the price.”
“It would be better to call it an employment contract.”
“No. We have a paladin on our side. If we hire you it will be difficult for him.”
“Okay I get it. I’m smart so I’ll definitely be considerate of your situation.”
Everyone was speechless.
This guy was on the brink of death just a moment ago. If Azadin were to murder him for the murder of civilians there’s no way even a muscular orc could take Azadin’s attacks while sitting in a wheelchair.
“By the way I’m hungry. My brain needs a lot of nutrients. It may be hard for you to understand but intelligence blossoms on nutrients.”
“You’re hungry while being pushed around in a wheelchair? Just bear with it.”
“No I’m really hungry. I told you it’s a characteristic of orcs.”
Scott McGreen asked for something to eat but Azadin looked around at his other colleagues. None of them were particularly hungry.
“Let’s talk after we get there.”
Azadin’s party found a hidden boat far from the camp. They rode it across the Kora River and arrived at the Land of Lantarik where they set up camp.
Until then I had to listen to Scott McGreen whine a few more times about being hungry.
