Night of the Soulless Heathens – 104

#104. Nightcrawler 6
“Get out there woman! What’s your name?”
“What is your name sir?”
Nagas also asked for the names of Shati and Azadin.
“This woman’s name is Shatigo…”
As Azadin spoke he secretly put pressure on Shati. He tightly held Shati’s body with his arms.
At that moment Shati realized how vain her delusion of strangling Azadin with the snake’s tail and body was. Rather it felt as if her body would burst as Azadin strangled her.
‘What kind of human power! This warm-blooded animal is scary!’
Shati had no choice but to name her fellow sorcerer who had died when Azadin had raided the count’s castle.
“He’s a cappella.”
“Capella and Shati…ramen.”
“Those guys who went to Count Salasma?! That’s right!”
“What the hell is going on? What are those guys shooting arrows from behind?”
“More importantly this…”
Azadin laid his longsword on the floor. Of course he did not put down the dagger hidden in the hand that was holding Shati. Instead he laid his longsword on the floor and took out a copy of the New King’s Book from his bosom with his empty hand.
The moment they saw the white paper that glowed on its own the Nagas were amazed.
“Shin Wang Jin Seo!”
“It’s a copy of the New King’s Book!”
“Yes. I was going to pass this on to you.”
Azadin bowed his head slightly while the Nagas’ attention was focused on the copy of the New King’s Book.
“Everyone avoids it!”
Shati screamed in warning but it was too late.
-Wedge!
Azadin threw arrows at the Nagas.
The surprised Naga youths took up their defenses but those who were close to Azadin had their heads pierced by arrows. Those who raised their shields belatedly to block the arrows were also unable to prevent the arrows from penetrating their shields and hitting their faces.
“Ugh!”

It was a blue arrow. Azadin used the blue arrow he had acquired from Nephthy the 75th messenger of the Emperor to pierce through the Nagas’ shields and wound them.
Even though the arrowheads were probably dull from having been used once the arrows went through the shields like a piece of paper and struck the young men deeply in the face.
“Kyaak!”
Shati raised her claws and bared her teeth but Azadin swung the dagger hidden in his hand and struck Shati in the mouth.
-Snap!
Shati’s fangs broke and blood spurted out. The Naga larger than a human fell unable to withstand Azadin’s attack.
“Ugh!”
Orc necromancer Scott McGreen was already suspicious of Azadin and quickly prepared.
“Grill!”
A mutated human corpse possessed by an evil spirit called a ghoul leaped like a four-legged beast and attacked Azadin. However when Azadin grabbed the longsword he had placed on the ground and swung it the ghoul was knocked to the side and sent flying.
‘That’s ridiculous!’
Scott backed up in his wheelchair. The wheelchair controlled by necromantic magic slid backwards like crazy. He then set up a wall of undead to block the enemy’s advance.
I thought so too…
The longsword flew straight toward Scott. Azadin had thrown the sword at him with his swordsmanship. The sword thrown by hand flew like a ballista’s iron bar and its momentum was fierce. If it hit it would go through his back.
‘Ah! Shit!’
The undead Scott was dealing with tried to block with their bodies but the attacks were too fast for the undead’s mobility to block.
Then a shadow demon emerged from Scott’s shadow.
[Caak!]
It was Nightcrawler. This giant shadowy figure swung its claws and knocked away Azadin’s sword.
“this.”
Azadin was astonished at Nightcrawler’s ability to block his attack perfectly once again.
‘A normal necromancer would have died from the first arrow strike but he survived then and this time too. What’s with that shadowy evil spirit? I felt it from the moment I saw it but it’s a really powerful monster. What should I do?’
But isn’t the face of the orc who is handling the monster turning a deep green? Suddenly the shadow demon grabs the orc’s head and lifts it up in a flash.
[The trauma is over! Scott McGreen! It’s time to pay the price!]
“Oh no!”
The orc necromancer tried to recite a spell but the shadow demon opened its mouth and swallowed him whole.
however….
“huh?”
Azadin who was watching was bewildered by the sudden situation.
[Hahahahaha!]
The shadow demon’s body was darkening.
‘Oh I see. So he absorbs the magician into his body and uses it as a source of magical power to manifest himself in this world.’
Azadin clicked his tongue as he realized that the orc absorbed into the shadow demon’s body was the source of his magical power.
Summoning or invocation magic requires the sacrifice and devotion of someone who is officially part of this world to maintain it for a long time. That shadow demon is an evil spirit and also a devil-like being so in order to stay in this world for a long time it needs a living magician as a medium. Perhaps when the price piles up after accepting the contract it eats the magician like that.
[Okay! It’s okay to despair! Human!]
A thick darkness emanated from the shadow demon that gained power by devouring the sorcerer enveloping the surrounding undead.
“Kyaaaaah!”

“Kwaaah!”
Shadows enveloped the undead becoming their armor and muscles.
Azadin quickly turned around and started to run away when he saw the huge figure of the shadow demon. In any case such a powerful evil spirit monster wouldn’t last long. It would be better to run away than to waste energy fighting it here.
‘It’s a shame that we can’t figure out what the Nagas are doing here but there’s no reason to waste energy on it. My injuries haven’t fully healed yet.’
As Azadin fled the Nagas also began to flee. The Nagas that Azadin shot in the face with arrows did not die that easily. Nagas do not die easily unless their brains are torn out.
Likewise Shati whose teeth were broken by a dagger got up and ran hard.
“Huh! Ah Azahdin!”
Shati called Azadin’s name in the old Aragatha pronunciation. It was because the pronunciation was leaking out through broken teeth but Azadin was shocked to hear his name called.
At that time the shadow demon that was chasing him was slower than Azadin and tried to pounce on the lagging Naga.
“Tch!”
Azadin threw the dagger back and aimed for Nightcrawler’s heart. The orc necromancer who had been handling Nightcrawler just now would be in that heart. Sure enough Nightcrawler overreacted and blocked the dagger.
“Everyone run away tearing apart!”
Azadin told the Nagas to run away and ran away himself. Then Shati ran after Azadin and the other Nagas ran away from Azadin. As the distance between them and Azadin grew the Nagas cast spells.
“ah!”
In front of Azadin grew strong vines. They were calf-high but they had thorns and clung to clothing and skin making them a great obstacle.
‘Hey are you guys going to try this? If you keep interfering with each other I’ll do better! You brats!’
Azadin swerved to avoid the thornbush.
Nightcrawler pursues Azadin but the shadow-clad undead pursue the nagas.
“Huh!”
“this!”
The Nagas who were injured by Azadin were surrounded by the undead. They thought they were normal undead and drew their large curved swords and struck the undead but…
-Kang!
A cracking sound came from the zombie’s body.
“uh?!”
“Oh no!”
The black shadow’s armor repelled the blade with a clang. The black-armored undead rushed at the Nagas and a melee ensued.
‘Well I guess we can leave that to the undead. Then the problem is….’
Azadin looked at Shati chasing him and the Nightcrawler rushing behind her.
“Help me too!”
Shati asked Azadin.
“What? Are you out of your mind?”
You asked me for help when I just betrayed you and attacked you?
Azadin was taken aback by Shati’s impudence but for some reason he changed his mind took off the moon-bow around his waist and hung the bowstring.
“Hey undead!”
Azadin took out the black steel arrow he had used to shoot at Jecht from his bow and placed it on his bowstring. Then surprisingly he took out a copy of the New King’s Book and wrapped the page around the arrow.
“Come on undead! It’s okay to despair!”
Azadin fired a black arrow. The arrow fired from Azadin’s bow flew with terrifying momentum and aimed for the heart of the nightcrawler the orc necromancer.
-Pfft!
Nightcrawler raised his arm to block it but the black steel bullet he fired this time instantly broke Nightcrawler’s arm dug inside and hit his torso.
[Khuh!?]
The force was so strong that Nightcrawler was taken aback. Azadin’s arrow broke Nightcrawler’s arm and struck his heart.
-Pfft!
Nightcrawler stumbled back and fell to the ground.
“Kahuk!?”
Within its heart an orc necromancer emerged.
“Ugh…..”
“Okay. That works.”
Azadin took out another page from the Shinwangjinseo copy and ran towards Nightcrawler with it in his hand.
[How stupid! You’re just going to hit me with the Shinwangjinseo? With the magic book?]
Nightcrawler immediately absorbed the darkness around him trying to re-bury the orc necromancer who had been blown away by his arm and was trying to burst out of his chest.
But Azadin swung his cloak covering the area where the orc necromancer was and slashed at him.
-Thunderbolt in the clear sky! Kazas!
Originally it was a technique used to deal with swarms of bugs or rats by spreading the impact widely but when the copies of the New King’s Book were overlapped and struck the power of white magic was transferred and swept away the darkness.
[Whoa?! This is reckless!]
“Orc!”
Azadin reached out and grabbed the orc necromancer’s arm from where it was buried in Nightcrawler’s chest pulling him out.
“You use your strength too! What’s the point of putting on muscle?”
“Ugh my muscles are getting bigger…”
As the orc necromancer spoke he grabbed Azadin’s hand and pulled himself together escaping from Nightcrawler’s body.
“Ugh!”
As the orc left his body Nightcrawler who had lost his magical power source began to weaken rapidly.
“Get rid of him!”
When Azadin gave the order to the orc the orc made a hand gesture and cast a spell.
“The price of the contract has been paid! Go back! Nightcrawler!”
Then countless screams of evil spirits began to be heard from Nightcrawler.
[Gyaaaah!]
[no!]
[This is not the end!]
Nightcrawler swung his arms in anger aiming for Azadin and the orc necromancer but Azadin grabbed the orc necromancer by the back of his neck and leapt forward to dodge the attack.
As the nightcrawler who had made his last struggle faded and disappeared the undead also lost their black armor and muscles as if their magical power supply had been cut off. No that wasn’t all their necromancy had completely dissipated and they had turned into normal corpses.
The Nagas quickly jumped over the undead’s encirclement and escaped.
“Let’s just wait and see!”
“betrayer!”
They began to grind their teeth and run away towards Shati.
“Ugh no!”
It was a very unfair situation for Shati. In order to save them she did everything she could in her position and even broke her teeth when she jumped at Azadin. However in the eyes of the Nagas she was just a criminal who betrayed her own people.
‘Since it’s come to this it would be better if Azadin shoots them with a bow…’
Although Shati had such thoughts it seemed that Azadin intended to capture the orc necromancer regardless of whether the Nagas ran away or not.
“Oh my I ran out of arrows right now. If only I had arrows.”
Azadin stood up and made the orc stand up pretending not to notice anything.
