Night of the Soulless Heathens – 102

#102. Nightcrawler 4
Unlike the brave Brand the soldiers were terrified and trembling.
“Oh my god. Not only people but even animal corpses are coming out.”
Before the human corpses the dogs raised in the village are walking as undead.
It was clear from this that the black magician’s ability to deal with these undead was exceptional.
“Eek! There are too many of you!”
When the soldiers became terrified Jibek who thought that this could not go on asked Azadin.
“I want to use the Hammer of Condemnation magic but do you have a hammer that I can use as a medium?”
“How about this?”
When Zibek asked for the hammers Azadin took one out of his saddle and examined it searching through it until he found one that was rusty and worn out.
“………”
“There’s no need to use something good when using magic as a medium right?”
“It’s urgent.”
“Oh really! I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve neglected to organize things!”
Azadin selected the hammers and sledgehammers that were in good condition and gave them to Zibek excluding those that were rusty chipped or badly scratched.
‘In this situation it’s pointless to even bother to choose.’
Jibek looked dumbfounded at Azadin’s obsession with the condition of his equipment and grabbed his hammer.
Although Zibek was tired of Azadin’s compulsive hoarding he chose the rusty and bad ones first and cast a spell on them.
“Put to sleep all that is out of the way O Light of the King!”
-The hammer of condemnation!
As Jibek threw his hammer the hammer flew in a parabolic arc and swooped down to the ground emitting a dazzling light. It then spread ripples of light in all directions and the bodies of the undead that touched it began to burn slightly.
“Kaaaak!”
“Keeeek!”
The undead writhed in pain and fell. Then from afar a magical power surged. The warlock had cast some kind of spell.
The undead suddenly howled like beasts towards the sky and rushed forward at a speed incomparable to their slow pace just a moment ago. The sight of dozens of undead rushing forward in a frenzy was truly terrifying.
“Eek!?”

“Ugh!”
The soldiers were terrified at the sight.
“Stay in line with your spears up!”
Jibek put his horse aside and stood with his soldiers holding his spear himself. A small number of spearmen too few to even call themselves a line formed a line against the undead that surged forward like a wave.
And then the waves came crashing in.
“concentration!”
The soldiers and knights finally came to their senses and began to act as Lord Zibek had commanded. They extended their spears and attacked the undead that rushed toward them. As everyone’s attacks gathered one undead impaled on a spear flapped and lunged at them.
“Eek!”
“Ah! It’s not coming out!”
The spear gets stuck in the undead and doesn’t come out. Meanwhile other undead rush in.
“Hey! Save me!”
Even soldiers who tried to run away by throwing away their spears came out. However when Jibek grabbed the reins of his horse and turned his body the horse kicked the undead with its hind legs. The undead flew backwards at the back kick of the giant warhorse.
“Ugh!”
Sir Jibek stabbed the undead that was charging at his horse with his spear. He twisted the spear up easily removed the blade that was stuck in it and stabbed again to show an example.
“again!”
At the command of Lord Zibek the soldiers and Brand took up their spears and re-formed their lines. Then they easily defeated the undead that were rushing in with the same stab they had failed to do earlier.
“Wow that’s great.”
Azadin watched in awe as Zibek filled in the gaps in his men’s defenses giving them time to stab and retrieve their spears.
Every time Sir Jibek swings his spear the undead fall which shows that this knight is no ordinary person. His commanding power is also amazing. The way he maintains his composure even in the face of an attack by undead that would normally make people dizzy and scared just by looking at them. All of this tells us that Jibek is no ordinary knight.
‘What Jibek? I thought you’d be skilled since you’re so stoic. Sir Brand is unexpected.’
Sir Brand an old man is strangely strong even though he is a scribe. When he escaped from the thieves’ den he swung a heavy crowbar by himself but it was so heavy that it was almost imperceptible.
Since he had such great strength he could handle the long spear with ease. His skills were actually better than those of the soldiers. No the soldiers were struggling to pull out the spear from the undead body.
“Now it’s time for the servants to do well.”
Azadin waited expectantly for Ismail and Midiam. Sure enough after a while a whisper was heard from the bushes next door. Midiam had spoken to him using magic.
[Azadin! I found the sorcerer. But…]
“But what?”
[Is that woman next to you?]
“…?”
Shati frowned when she heard that.
“I heard.”
[Would you like to bring it?]
“Okay go!”
Azadin asked Zibek to follow him while he slipped away to the side.
“Then shall we go together with Shati?”
“Hey wait a minute. Should we get out of here Necromancer?”
Medium didn’t say anything to get out but he could guess just by checking to see if Shati was listening.
“Is that possible? What are the Nagas thinking? Even though Count Salasma is dead they still treat this place as their own land?”

“I don’t know either. I’m just a commoner.”
Shati rolled her eyes as she spoke. She seemed to be thinking of a way to escape but there was no way she could escape Azadin.
“Stop thinking useless thoughts and just follow me Shati.”
“Damn it. I even treated you.”
“I appreciate that.”
Azadin moved carefully to make sure Shati did not escape.
*********
According to the mythology of the Kurtites the orc god Kanak gave his children the orcs a great gift that would allow them to rule over all other races and rise to the top.
A strong body with good muscle mass outstanding intelligence strong ambition and magical talent as well as a long lifespan comparable to that of an elf.
But as these gifts piled up problems arose. As a result most orcs had difficulty living beyond the average human lifespan.
Among Kanak’s gifts muscle was the problem. Since they were naturally prone to gaining muscle most of the orcs suffered from starvation. This was because their bodies’ fuel efficiency was too poor.
In addition their bodies were muscular but their endurance was poor. They had too much muscle so their endurance was poor. No matter how much the heart pumped blood the muscles consumed all the oxygen and nutrients in the blood so the orcs always suffered from cardiopulmonary failure. In the end most of them died before they reached the age of 40 due to heart failure.
Scott McGreen the orc necromancer who is here now was sitting in a wheelchair to overcome the limitations of an orc. This wheelchair was equipped with preservative-treated muscles so that it could move automatically according to his will and was made to minimize the use of the body as much as possible to counteract the orc constitution that builds muscle just by breathing. However in order to eat and live one cannot avoid using the body even if one is in a wheelchair.
“What the hell are you doing Orc?”
His employers the Nagas complained.
“Are you wasting your time on a mere human knight?”
“Just sit there in the back.”
I guess employers get upset when you just sit in a wheelchair.
‘You stupid racists. Can’t you just sit there and do nothing while I show my sincerity?’
To Scott the orc these nagas are racists who live for their own self-importance. To the nagas who believe without a doubt that they are the greatest and most superior of the Kurt pantheon the orcs are nothing more than servants with a few useful skills to hire.
“What are you doing eating so much rice? Hurry up and bring out the Shinwangjinseo!”
“You guys are telling me to kill the intruders! Some guys are telling me to kill the intruders and some guys are telling me to drag out the New King’s Book. Which guy’s rhythm should I dance to?”
Scott turned the locals into undead and even swept away Count Lantaric’s army into undead in order to manifest copies of the Book of the New King hidden throughout the world.
This alone was a tremendous achievement but the commanders kept giving conflicting orders as if they were in a hurry.
“How dare an orc who eats as much rice as he can to complain to his employer?”
“Okay first take out the Shinwangjinseo!”
“No we have to kill the intruders! What if the intruders are after the New King’s Book?”
I wish they would make it clear whether manifesting the New King’s Book comes first or killing the intruders comes first.
But Scott leaned back in the wheelchair as much as possible taking care not to strain his muscles and regulating his breathing.
‘If you breathe too much your organs will become muscled. Then your lifespan will be shortened.’
Scott concentrated his mind trying his best to control his emotions. The wheelchair moved on its own with the help of a necromancy spell.
“It’s so frustrating you snakeheads. Don’t tell me to do this or that just pick one. Huh? Isn’t this why I’m getting in trouble because your command system is a mess?”
“But look at what this guy said to his employer.”
“Do you want to skip lunch today?”
“…Fatally. Got it. Let’s catch the intruder first okay?”
As Scott prioritized killing the intruders the Naga who had insisted on it glared at Scott clearly resenting him for ignoring his own orders and listening to the other Naga’s.
‘Damn. This is sad. Get out of here you guys. Aren’t you being too harsh as your employer? Wouldn’t it have been better to work with the Mejeri Apostles instead of these guys?’
Scott sighed and cast a spell to strengthen the undead and launch an offensive.
“So is it over now? After dealing with the invaders let’s quickly focus on the manifestation of the New King’s Book.”
The Nagas believed that the number of invaders was small and that they would soon be finished if they attacked with the undead so they looked at Scott. But Scott’s eyes opened wide.
“Wait a minute! This guy is fighting too well?”
“what?”
“That’s… the invaders are too good at dealing with the undead.”
“What are you talking about? You’re still alive after slaying all these undead?”
“I think he’s a knight of the King’s Church. He’s the antithesis of the undead.”
“Really? These days all the knights are so sloppy.”
“This is really going to suck! I guess we’ll have to get you guys to step up? We’ll have to show off the skills of these talented snakeheads.”
Scott demanded so but the others just stared at each other blankly.
“You’re a worker so you want to take advantage of your employer now?”
“You eat so much that it’s hard to keep up so you should pay for the food Orc?”
“Are you telling me to step forward and fight off the invaders? Why am I in a wheelchair?”
“No that’s… The undead here are controlled by your necromancy right?”
“If we go out and you have bad intentions and attack us with the undead it’ll be a problem right?”
I can’t believe you would betray me. That’s what the other guys were saying. And on top of that you’re always harassing me for eating too much.
‘I eat a lot but aren’t these guys going too far?’
Scott nodded suppressing his anger. He could feel his neck muscles getting thicker just from moving it a little.
“Damn it. Don’t tell me not to eat lethally. Can’t you just say that?”
Scott moved the wheelchair forward.
