Chapter 129: Just Show the Result. (3)

    Thud!

Belinda suddenly shoved Rosalyn’s shoulders and slammed her down onto the bed.

“What the hell are you doing?!”

Rosalyn screamed and started thrashing around. Then Wendy grabbed her feet and pressed down hard.

“Let go! I said let go!”

Rosalyn flailed on the bed but she couldn’t overcome the strength of the two.

“Servant! What are you doing?! Call the soldiers! Tell them to capture these bastards! What’s everyone doing?!”

Rosalyn screamed at the top of her lungs making the mansion echo.

The butler averted his gaze looking troubled.

He thought it was excessive to force the treatment like this but with Marquis Branford’s order he couldn’t skip it.

‘If it fails a bloodstorm will surely come.’

If the treatment fails it wouldn’t just be Ghislaine and his party who would be held responsible.

The soldiers and servants who ignored the command wouldn’t escape unscathed either.

The butler regretted suggesting Ghislaine to the Marquis. He never imagined things would get this out of hand.

No amount of struggling or screaming would help and soon Rosalyn’s strength faded.

As she panted with gritted teeth Ghislaine leisurely walked into the room.

“This isn’t some wild beast you’re capturing… Would it kill you to accept the treatment quietly?”

Rosalyn glared at Ghislaine with murderous eyes and shouted.

“You! Do you think you can get away with this?! Do you even know who I am?!”

“What… I’m here to treat you; do you think I wouldn’t know who the patient is?”

    “I’ll kill you!”

“If I can’t treat you I’m dead anyway.”

    “This… this crazy bastard…”

Rosalyn was too stunned to even curse properly.

She’d never met someone so completely unreasonable before.

“First let’s check your condition. Hey someone light up this room.”

As soon as Ghislaine’s words fell the servants rushed in pulled back the curtains and lit up the room.

As the surroundings brightened the tremors in the eyes hidden behind the mask became more apparent.

“W-what are you trying to do…?”

“I’m just going to check your face for a moment. Can we remove the mask?”

    “D-don’t do it…!”

As Ghislaine approached Rosalyn began to thrash again.

    It began.

“Sunlight is coming in! I can’t take off the mask now!”

But Ghislaine undeterred by the objections spoke firmly.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re embarrassed. You need to take off the mask for the treatment.”

    “I don’t need to!”

“Yes yes that’s correct. You don’t need things like masks. I’ll make sure you don’t have to wear such an eyesore again. You must trust me completely. Blessings come to those who believe.”

As she blabbered nonsense Ghislaine pulled off the mask and narrowed her eyes at the revealed face.

Rosalyn’s face was burnt and bright red the skin peeling away.

Hearing the treatment had worsened the condition she never expected it to be this serious.

Other people gasped covering their mouths in shock.

    “Ah!”

Awash in sunlight streaming through the window Rosalyn screamed and thrashed about.

In that brief moment her skin condition worsened significantly from before.

Ghislaine hurriedly covered Rosalyn with her own body and shouted to the servants.

    “Quick! Draw the curtains!”

Even after the curtains were drawn Rosalyn couldn’t calm down for a long while and teared up.

    “You bastard…”

Only curses came out. How could someone who came to treat her only make the illness worse?

Seeing the murderous look in Rosalyn’s eyes Ghislaine slightly turned her head and scratched it.

‘This is more serious than I knew?’

It was definitely her mistake to not prevent the servants from drawing the curtains sooner.

However there was no mention of such a severe condition in the records she had seen in her previous life.

Still as the illness itself hadn’t changed the treatment method she had in mind would work.

As long as Rosalyn could endure it.

“Hmm the confirmation is complete. Now let’s begin the actual treatment.”

At Ghislaine’s gesture the waiting servants brought in the medicine.

“From now on you will take this medicine in the morning and evening.”

    Rosalyn grimaced.

The medicinal concoction emitted a terrible smell. Whatever herbs had been mixed in the color was dark and ominous.

“Do you think I’ll drink that crap?”

    “You will drink it.”

    “…?”

Ghislaine lifted the bowl of medicine with one hand and gently poked her neck muscles with the other.

Before she knew it Rosalyn’s mouth involuntarily opened.

No matter how hard she tried she couldn’t close her mouth.

Ghislaine nodded and poured the medicine into Rosalyn’s mouth.

    Gulp gulp!

It spilled a bit but the mixture slid down her throat.

    “Uughh!”

As soon as the entire concoction went down she retched violently.

The shockingly bad taste was enough to numb her tongue.

How could any mixture taste like it came straight out of hell?

She wanted to spit it all out but no matter how she struggled nothing came back up.

“You bastard… I drank it so now let me go! It’s over right?”

“Over? No way. That’s just a medicine to help with the treatment. The real treatment hasn’t even started.”

“You think you’ll get away with this after what you’ve done to me?”

“Honestly if I can’t treat you I might end up dead. You throwing a fit isn’t a problem at all.”

“Well if I can’t treat the Young Lady she’ll die anyway. Her throwing a tantrum is not the problem.”

Not understanding a word Rosalyn ground her teeth.

    “I’ll definitely kill you.”

“You’ll change your mind after the treatment is done.”

Realizing that her rebellion was useless she only took harsh breaths.

But in her eyes there was a glimmer that seemed ready to kill Ghislaine.

Feeling the situation stabilize the Butler cautiously asked

    “Is the treatment really possible?”

“Well… I know the illness pretty well.”

Everyone around was stunned by his confident words.

    The Butler urgently confirmed again

“Do you really know this illness?”

    “Oh I do.”

Everyone was puzzled but for Ghislaine it was completely normal.

‘I don’t know the principle behind the problem but I know the answer. I’ve done tons of research.’

Marquis Branford was famous and had a wealth of information. He was well-versed about Rosalyn’s illness and treatment methods.

But it wasn’t something he could just say “I’ve seen everything in the future.”

Ghislaine tried to start the treatment avoiding the curious gazes of people.

But the Butler wasn’t going to miss the chance to know the cause.

“What is the cause? Even famous doctors and priests couldn’t pinpoint it precisely.”

    Ghislaine was inwardly flustered.

    ‘No clue… what is that…?’

In fact he didn’t really know the cause either. It was like knowing the problem and the answer without understanding the process.

    That’s only natural.

‘I just flipped backward and saw the answer.’

Those so-called scholars love recording things so much that they leave behind hundreds of pages detailing the experimental process to find the cause of the illness and the treatment.

    ‘It was way too lengthy…’

No matter how much his memory had improved after reaching a superhuman level it wouldn’t change the fact that he hadn’t looked at it.

Still he couldn’t just say he didn’t know now.

Ghislaine decided to just wrap it up as best as he could.

“Ah so it’s like this… the balance is off.”

    “Balance?”

“That’s right the Young Lady’s body is too cold causing the issue.”

Rosalyn’s symptoms were caused by the cold energy blocking her mana road.

Thus the treatment was simple. Melt that energy with mana and clear it out.

‘But why that energy formed I don’t know either.’

Before the people could start probing into unknown parts Ghislaine hurried to finish his explanation.

“So if we get rid of that energy…”

At that moment Rosalyn giggled and mocked Ghislaine.

“I still have a lot of heat in my body. You quack.”

The Butler chimed in to add a word.

“That’s right. The Young Lady’s body is always hot and she’s sensitive to heat.”

With that remark everyone stared at Ghislaine with suspicious eyes.

Cold sweat began to bead on Ghislaine’s forehead.

Why the heck would she have heat if her body is cold?

“Aha Young Lady are you flustered? You were so surprised that you have heat when your body is cold.”

    “You’re the one who’s flustered.”

Ghislaine replied boorishly without batting an eye.

“It’s because the inside of the Young Lady’s body is too cold that the heat escapes. With the sunlight hitting her already heated skin it’s unbearable.”

“The lady’s insides are so cold that the heat is escaping you see. On top of already heated skin if sunlight touches it she can’t withstand it.”

Ghislaine bundled all the theories and knowledge she had learned and packaged it convincingly.

    Everyone nodded looking satisfied.

    ‘Did… did it work?’

Even Rosalyn who usually had something to say was silent so it seemed it really did resonate.

‘Phew… being a doctor isn’t something anyone can do.’

Ghislaine sighed in relief and prepared to resume the treatment.

Just then Claude who had been quiet jumped in.

“So why does she have this?”

    ‘What the heck this punk?’

Ah I don’t know! How the heck would I know why she has it? I just need to treat her and fix it!

…was what she wanted to snap but too many eyes were on her.

Ghislaine smiled gently and placed a hand on Claude’s shoulder.

“Our Chief Officer is full of questions huh? So the reason she has this is…”

“Ouch! Lord it hurts! You’re going to dislocate my shoulder! Be gentle!”

    “… it’s just something you’re born with.”

When she said that everyone looked skeptical. But they had no real rebuttal.

‘What can we do if she says it’s just how it is?’

With just that one remark Ghislaine silenced everyone.

“We don’t have time so let’s leave the explanations for now. No more questions.”

At that everyone licked their lips and stepped back.

    ‘Phew now it’s really starting.’

Though they managed to start the treatment that wasn’t the end.

It would be fine if left alone but treating her in her current worsened state was extremely dangerous.

On top of that the fact that Rosalyn didn’t trust her at all was a problem.

This treatment would be excruciatingly painful even preparing mentally wouldn’t be enough to endure it.

It would hurt so much that dying would seem better. If she couldn’t hold on she might actually die.

‘In my past life I somehow managed to endure but… I don’t know if I can do it this time. Back then I could have held on due to the rage from the constant disdain I faced.’

Ironically the person who discovered this treatment method in her past life was none other than Rosalyn herself.

Even after her arranged marriage she couldn’t go outside and lived in hiding.

Being the daughter of a powerful family meant she wasn’t treated openly without respect but she certainly felt the contemptuous glares from all around.

It’s only natural that she would become more resilient over time after enduring such humiliation.

With her brilliant mind and strong determination she finally discovered the treatment method.

‘But if I wait until then it would be too late.’

Fortunately she had cured the illness but the treatment at that time ended up being just half a success.

Due to the blockage in the mana road her body had deteriorated beyond repair.

After all that effort to cure her illness she was unable to venture outside and merely languished eventually passing away years later.

So now all they could do was hope for her to endure the pain.

‘Please just hold on. If I fail it won’t just be the young lady who dies.’

Failure was not an option. If it came to that Rosalyn would die and he would also find himself in a troublesome situation.
