Chapter 92 Missing key data
by Jessie@AFNCCWhen I opened my eyes, it was still night outside.
What time is it now? Have you slept all day, or only an hour?
Jace felt around to his side, then felt an intense emptiness.
Of course he doesn’t have a cell phone.
“Sarno …… Sarno?”
Shouting twice in his daze, Jace snapped to the realization that the Kid was no longer in the warehouse.
This fact sobered him up at once, and his whole body instantly tensed.
Not only is the brat gone, even his package is gone, those naga fish scales, the string of beads on his hand ……
What happened?
Jace felt his body, his pants were still on, his top was padded right underneath him, he wasn’t missing an arm or a leg, his hair was still there, he wasn’t injured …… He rummaged back and forth where he had been sleeping and finally found the broken knife, but the big problem was that the stick was gone.
What’s going on? Who had come in …… or had the Kid betrayed himself and stolen all his valuables?
Immediately he silently recited the strangulation spell that he had already memorized, if the guy had fled without his orders, there would be no need for him to exist. However after reciting the spell, nothing happened, was the brat dead?
Something wasn’t right, Jace didn’t feel any Shadow energy dancing with his spell at all, like he did when he summoned a brat, or used his fear spell.
Is this spell a fake?
It couldn’t be, he’d seen Gagin use the spell in the basement with his own eyes to kill the imp that had just been summoned.
What the hell is going on? Did the Naga’s companions come to take revenge?
He gripped the knife in his hand tighter and moved closer to the door, peeking out.
The night was terribly dark, even the twin moons were gone, was it going to rain?
He couldn’t smell any dampness in the air, he couldn’t feel the soil, he couldn’t feel any of nature’s vibrant flavors, it was like the place was dead.
That’s when he heard someone calling his name.
Jace turned his head in the direction of the source of the sound and saw what appeared to be a blurry figure among the chaotic weeds on the farm not far away.
Wait, that name wasn’t even his name in this life!
This isn’t right. This isn’t reality at all.
It must have been that Naga’s magic that did this, he must have gotten hit with the fear spell at some point and is now experiencing the after effects of it.
Jace was ruthless and cut himself on his finger with the knife to try and wake up faster, only to watch in despair after a sharp pain as the blood trickled down his finger and onto his palm to no avail!
He grimaced in pain, what was he going to do now?
Looking over again, suddenly a familiar face was plastered right in front of him, scaring him so much that he nearly fell over with a jolt.
It was …… a girl s face, and he couldn t say who it was, but he always felt that he had seen it somewhere.
But the face was lifeless with tightly closed eyes, purplish blood dripping from the corners of his eyes, and his lips trembling uncontrollably, a deformity that made it impossible to associate him with anyone he had ever known.
Behind her face was the body of a giant serpent, which, unlike the dead-like cheeks, was constantly crisscrossing and twining, rubbing its scales in deathly warning, the tip of its tail quivering wildly as if in fearful mockery of Jace.
Jace roared and swung out his knife to slice the creepy cheek, and the giant snake scurried into the grass with a hissing, strange roar.
“Come on! Come over here! I’d like to see what else Shadow can do, what other weird stuff you guys can come up with?”
“So what did you expect?”
Hearing this, Jace looked behind the source of the voice, where the girl was lying, her lower half still a snake, but by now her upper half had become a human, and was just completely bare.
Jace swallowed to moisten his dry throat, and I have to say, that hit pretty hard.
Just as he was flabbergasted for a moment, the muscles of the lower half of the naga-like monster suddenly popped, and the whole thing jutted out in front of Jace’s eyes, who was grabbed by the neck and lifted into mid-air without even reacting.
Wet skin pressed against his arms, chest, and cheeks, and he felt less like he was being lifted and more like he was being embraced.
The serpent’s long tongue slithered from his neck to his chest and belly, and unexpectedly, Jace didn’t feel any danger at all, instead his mind was already occupied with all sorts of strange thoughts.
It’s a dream. He can do whatever he wants.
After a burst of heart palpitations, Jace felt that the strong will to fight to the end just now was like falling into an extremely corrosive solution rapidly melting, and the gradually chaotic mind lost the ability to think actively a little bit.
Now all he could think about was that it didn’t cost anything anyway, and if he waited a little longer, his lower half would have turned out, right?
Wait, there’s really no cost?
This is the Dream of Shadows, he subconsciously felt, can not succumb to …… can not succumb to these things. But he felt as if his whole body was engulfed in desire, and all his senses were reduced to nothing but ethereal, impractical bioelectric currents rhythmically and continuously pounding his brain. Absolutely not …… He struggled and grabbed the huge snake wrapped around himself with force to rip it away, and the girl’s face suddenly tore in half along the slash of his slash! Like a watermelon that had suddenly split open, blood, flesh, and bones were clearly visible, and two eyes that were far away looked this way at the same time.
A wild scream pierced Jace’s brain and he sat up with a yelp; it was morning.
“Master?” Sëanor was still sitting on the granary side looking over, “What’s all the yelling for?”
Jace wiped his fingers on the sweat on his neck and said, “Just a dream.”
Recalling the dream, he was surprisingly a little sorry he hadn’t continued with it.
Is it possible that it’s missing key data because it’s not experienced and that’s why it’s jumping out at you? It’s weird to mess with a snake though.
Actually, it’s not that weird.
In a moment of emptiness, he subconsciously hummed “Once in a Thousand Years”, packed his bags, ate a little dry bread, and prepared to leave the abandoned farm.
The fall air was crisp and cool, and as Jace walked a little higher, he could see the scattered ruins of houses beyond a distant depression.
It was an abandoned town, and if the soldiers of the Western Springs Fortress were to be followed, it would not be the so-called West County, it would be the mining town outside the Jangorod Mines.
The same place where Fabron said he and his wife hid during the war.
Looking out over the endless hillsides and wildlands, Jess sighed deeply. Magic Emperor Grass …… How is this going to be found?
He hadn’t even found a bunch of silver leaf grass along the way, and with so many farms in the western wilderness, as if it was particularly rich, he ended up walking for half a day without being able to find any herbs.
Could it be that this place lacks a magic net node, so there aren’t many plants with magic power growing?
But Ursula Delin swore that there was a lot of Magic Emperor Herb on the slopes of this area, and since Fabulon said that not many people came here anymore, there shouldn’t be anyone to steal the herb from him.
Jace hadn’t seen any sign of jackals along the way either, neither the camp, nor the living jackals, so there shouldn’t be any jackal herbalists to rob from him either.
