Chapter 61: Wind, Rain, Thunder and Lightning!
by Jessie@AFNCCJace wiped the rain from his own face to get a clearer view as the thing took a steady step down the slope and was heading in the direction of the two men.
Judging by the silhouette, this is definitely not a human, much less a dwarf, and he is far taller than any human or dwarf …… Here in the Red Ridge Mountains this kind of existence is almost only one possibility left.
He’s the orc!
“Run, Grady!”
“He ……”
Jace shoved Grid, who hadn’t even said a word yet, in the direction of the lake shore, and jumped out himself in a flash, the two of them rolling and sliding as they scurried down the high slope.
The two men slid into a dirt bank, got up, and made a mad dash for the town of Lakeside. The guy slid all the way down too, but much faster than them.
He ran like a furious athlete, with a sense of power definitely not the image of some sage prophet’s civilization, but more like a brave fighter who has experienced a hundred battles.
The sand behind him, the water splashing like it was being lifted by the tires of an accelerating jeep, he was afraid he was going to run the two right over as he rushed in front of them.
“Can’t outrun …… your ass!” The dwarf yelled, flinging his small round shield into his hand and turning back around.
Although Jace was reluctant, he knew that Grid was right, and that running on would just be an empty drain on his energy and he would eventually be caught up.
In the pouring rain, the image of the burly fellow became clearer and clearer, a troll with a dark green complexion, holding a long stick, his head full of dark brown messy hair flopping in the wind, his eyes staring intently at the two people on this side, his muscles tensed like stone.
He charged with a low growl, swinging the club in his hand, and Jace visibly saw a whirlwind of sand and dust blowing up around his muscles and arms!
Grid raised his shield to block, but was the orc through the force of the charge, with extremely exaggerated strength directly even shield with people smashed over the ground, which is what jeep, simply a locomotive!
After knocking the dwarf down, the orc rushed to Jace with a single padded step, and Jace raised his sword to block it, and it was smashed and folded by a blow directly from his metal gauntlet, and 5 silver coins went down the drain.
The orc raised his club and Jace raised his own behind him to block the blow, the orc froze for a split second at the sight of the club and it was that split second that Jace got a good look at him.
This guy’s face looked more like a masked skeleton than a fusion of beast and man.
Between his thick lips, which were difficult to keep closed, a pair of fangs were raised extremely aggressively, and his eyes were rounded like those of an enraged tiger.
It was in this moment of hesitation that the orc suddenly let out a low growl, Grid ran over to him somehow and stabbed him in the calf, the orc went berserk and slammed his gauntlet squarely into Grid’s face knocking him off his feet and spinning him around twice in the air before landing on the ground.
Jace’s brain went blank at the sight, it was over.
The orc pulled the straight sword straight out of his calf and tossed it aside, turning around with a look on his face that was many times more hideous than it had been a moment ago.
Jace knew that he wasn’t angry because of this sword from Grid, but because of this stick in his hand.
He thought that all the shamans of the entire tribe had long ago abandoned the elemental path and gone into the Shadow, and this fallen one had indeed drunk the demon blood and turned his skin from the natural brown of an orc to green, so he should have gone into the path of evil energy and the Shadow as well.
However, based on previous speculation, the fact that this orc was clearly adhering to the Way of the Shaman meant that he had recovered somewhat from the berserkness and bloodlust brought on by the demonic blood, and had begun to reflect on the effects of the demons on the orcish tribes.
These sobered up orcs will have an even greater hatred for all things demonic related.
Whereas Jace had suspected this, this orc’s sudden change in demeanor confirmed his suspicions!
He had seen the old things of the tribe, and as a shaman, and as a member of a group that had the highest status in what had once been the tribe, hated the culprits who had lured the shamans to their downfall – the higher-ups of the Shadow Council – with a vengeance!
The orc roared wildly, flinging his club across the room and slamming it right down, and Jace ducked aside in a heave as the club smashed into the sandy soil with a big splash.
The orc pursued frantically, and Jace dodged continuously, keeping the dwarf’s words in mind, turning his weaknesses into strengths and seeing his attacks through.
The opponent is immensely powerful, but he’s also oversized and moves in a wide-open manner that tends to be more predictable.
Shaman priests are not professional fighters, although the strength brought by racial superiority is extremely terrifying, but the experience of close combat is bound to keep up with real warriors, Jace just need to be patient, focus on dodging, and wait for Grid to come over to help ……
It suddenly occurred to him that Grid had just been jerked so far away that he could still wake up.
Jace took a step back and dodged two strikes in a row, and the orc was about to slam his club over when an arrow suddenly appeared in his shoulder.
“This way, beast!” Grid yelled from the distance, “Ignore me if you have the guts, and I’ll see if I don’t shoot you through a sieve!”
Grid had picked up his arrow basket at some point, but even at this distance Jace felt like he didn’t have more than a few arrows left in his basket after that mess earlier.
The orc didn’t even seem to want to pay attention to Grid’s arrow as he pulled it out before continuing to pummel Jace with his club, and had just lifted his hand when another arrow was added to his shoulder.
“What, you think I can’t shoot right with only one eye?” The dwarf said with a loud laugh.
The orc turned around and began to recite something under his breath when there was a sudden flash of lightning and thunder in the sky.
In his hand he gathered over from the sky a ball of electricity wrapped in vapor that kept crashing and exploding, emitting a white flash that poked and prodded at Jace’s vision one at a time, yet the orc was clearly headed towards Grid.
“That’s still fucking true?!”
The dwarf screamed strangely and tried to run away into the distance, and with a shout Jace stood up and threw up his club and slammed it hard towards the orc’s electricity-wielding wrist.
The ball of electricity scattered some of his energy as he smashed it, and the orc let out a low growl as he continued to forcefully swing his palm out …… The chain of electricity flashed suddenly between Grid and the orc’s palm, illuminating the surrounding water, lake beach, and forest all at once, as Jace was blown right over by the blast of electricity that the current dispersed.
In the distance was running wildly Griddle froze in a blinding flash of white light and flopped to the ground.
Jace turned and ran away, yelling Saënor’s name as he did so, but the brat didn’t respond to him.
It was then that he realized that the package containing the brat had been left on the beach of the lake on Grid’s side.
Damn ……
The orc turned back to the fleeing Jace, staring intently at him as he chanted something and balled up a fiery flame in his hand, even in the rain he was still able to gather this cloud of the element of fire!
As he watched the fiery mass in his hand grow larger and larger, Jace thought to himself, this is definitely a life-threatening moment, isn’t it?
Fear spells, fear spells!
He turned back to his body and silently chanted a spell, the long stick in his hand pointing straight at the orc in front of him, and when the spell was complete, he felt as if a large portion of his spirit had been extracted from his body, and he nearly fell over as his feet gave out.
Looking at the orc again, the blazing flames in his hand suddenly dissipated most of the way, turning into a shower of sparks thrown on the ground, and he shuddered for a while half-kneeling on the ground, snarling something over and over again.
It’s working. The fear spell is working.
How long will it last?
Forcing himself together, he ran over and picked up the sword that had been thrown away by the orc, and turned back around and thrust it in hard towards the trembling orc’s heart!
Knock!
The sword was surprisingly stuck between his ribs! This monster!
It’s time to stab your belly ……
However it was too late to think so, the orc was aroused by the sharp pain and grabbed Jace’s blade with one hand and swung his fist with the other, Jace had to abandon his sword and back away to dodge.
The swing down narrowly missed his nose, yet the violent withdrawal caused himself to trip over the soft soles of his feet.
Now was not the time to be heartbroken about his spirit, as Jace unleashed his fear spell again, and the orc’s eyes snapped round and he half-kneeled in anger, growling uncontrollably.
He steeled himself and stared at Grid, who was lying on the other side, not having much strength left to sustain him as he continued to fight, and this time ran wildly over to take Grid and run.
Before they could run to the dwarves, however, the orcs had already made some moves.
It was also less than ten seconds ……
This orc’s willpower was definitely not weaker than Grid’s.
The orc gazed at the running human, and instead of using the fire element again, he threw away the sword in his hand and summoned the heavenly thunder with both hands once more!
Being far away this time, Jace got a good look at the spectacular sight of lightning from the sky striking his hand and gathering a furious ball of electricity.
This guy was like connecting heaven and earth with his power, and Jace hadn’t even heard of this Red Ridge Mountain shaman’s existence, meaning he was probably at an unusual level even among shaman priests… was this the terrifying power of the elements?
Whoever it is ……
Jace immediately mumbled the spell for the fear spell, and when the spell was complete he fell to the floor in a fit of exhaustion on the spot, a hypoglycemic wave of dizziness slamming through him, and surprisingly, his eyes went black for a moment.
But the orc was no better, his eyes suddenly widened in disorientation, his body stiffened in place, and all the lightning in his hands exploded and dispersed among the sand and the lake, the current rolling and dispersing along the lake beach, causing a series of flickering white lights.
This time, however, he only gasped and growled lowly in place for a moment before snapping out of it again.
He shouted something abusive in orcish for a while, stood up and limped this way, gathering a ball of lightning in one hand once more in the middle of a yell.
The orcs were clearly pushing themselves as well, the coalesced electrical energy getting weaker and weaker one at a time, now was the time for a contest of willpower.
Jace grabbed Griddle and shook him back and forth, however Griddle was passed out, but at least there was a nose and a heartbeat.
Just now, that one Lightning Technique smashed right on top of him, and he was lucky to not die.
Just as he turned back to the orc and prepared to use every possibility to move another fear spell, the electrical energy in the orc’s hand had burst into flashes.
Jace watched as a wave of white light engulfed him, everything around him was drowned out by a bombardment of eardrums, and an indescribable tingle ran from the top of his head through the soles of his feet, and this time it was as if his organs had been scalded.
However, after this wave of electricity passed, he took two steps back in agony, and not only did he not die, he didn’t even pass out.
He felt his arms and legs paralyzed to the point where he could barely hear himself, crouched on the ground and couldn’t stand up, yet he was still conscious.
How could I possibly be more resistant than a dwarf?
That’s when he realized he was in a trance of bright red lines in the veins and skin that weren’t capillaries, but words in general! With the flow of these strange things, a heat that made one’s blood rise rolled over and over all over his body.
The orc also stood in place for a moment of hesitation, apparently surprised by his exaggerated resistance to electric shocks, when a distant scream yanked both men’s attraction at the same time.
“Master, thank me for saving your life! This is the power of the Seal of Blood Deed!”
