    Chapter Index

Galders’ voice was extremely magnetic, and he spoke in a kind and gentle manner, like someone who had grown up in a noble family.

But when Jace looked at him, he always felt an evil aura surrounding him.

Jace thought to himself that he didn’t have any ability to see through other people’s mana, he was just an ordinary person, and even such an ordinary person could sense that something wasn’t quite right with him, not to mention the mages and priests.

How on earth did this man manage to stay in Stormwind without being detected, and how did this ominous breath come out of him?

Jace followed him to the practice room, where Gagin was already waiting for him.

    “Galdez, show him.”

Galdus nodded and said, “You may show yourself, Ziggy.”

    Who’s he talking to?

Just as Jace was puzzled, a burst of arcane magic light suddenly shimmered around Galdus’ feet, and a small figure suddenly emerged from it.

    “At your service, Master ……”

    A brat!

    A real demon!

Jace looked at the crouching brat with a pair of long, forward-poking horns, a pair of swollen eyes that glowed with a strange yellow light, almost the size of a medium-sized dog, and a coat of fur that looked like gray flames that swayed with his movements.

Gakin said proudly, “Originally Summoning was an extremely difficult magic for black magic practitioners in Azeroth, but that all changed with the opening of the Dark Gate. The Gate of Darkness draws us in to the void, and it draws us in to the summoned creatures.”

“It also makes it easier for me to serve my master!” The brat named Ziggy added excitedly.

Upon seeing the demon, Jace realized that he really had some misconceptions about this warlock group. Now it did seem that there were some people in there who still possessed some real talent.

“Quiet, Ziggy.” With that said, Galdus looked to Jace.

“Such brats can help us a lot, they can hide their form for invisibility. But be careful, maintaining invisibility is a process that requires a lot of concentration, and the brats’ shortcomings lie in …… concentration. So once invisible, they can’t do anything other than follow you, and once they shift their concentration they will immediately reveal themselves, thus exposing themselves to the eyes of others. So if you don t want to bring trouble to yourself, to us, it s best not to let it do something illegal at will, if you know what I mean. There are some people in Stormwind City who know more about demons than we do, and they won’t allow these demons to run rampant in the city.”

Jace savored the meaning of the words and asked, “You’re going to teach me the spell for summoning brats?”

Gakin says, “That’s what I call an extremely valuable spell, Jace, you’re not afraid, are you? Sulenna and Erland refused to learn to summon brats, they don’t want to deal with demons, and Ursula …… she doesn’t seem to be gifted at summoning demons.”

Galdus said, “If we go by the hermits in Ironforge Castle, in these days when the Dark Gate has been opened, if we still can’t even learn how to summon a brat, we don’t deserve to call ourselves warlocks. But those guys in Ironforge Castle are arrogant, we don’t have to pay them any attention. Ursula is a useful companion, even if she doesn’t know how to summon a brat, she’s still good for us. So you don’t have to feel pressured, even if you can’t master it for a while, you can help the group in other ways.”

Summoning a demon was hardly without scruples on Jace’s part, but it did make for an extremely valuable spell, and Gakin’s words were not false.

“I came here to learn new things.”

“Very well.” Gagin walked to the base of the wall in front of the two men, and said, to the open space in front of him, “Let me demonstrate-“

    “Lernea, Taeani, Anvil, Thoremy, Olgasobimus.”

As Gakin recited, a mass of shadowy light began to appear around him, which was not obvious, and could only be considered vaguely visible even in such a dark dark room, but these shadowy rays seemed to be becoming clearer and clearer as he recited, with the edges becoming sharper and sharper, as if they were condensing into a single runic character and imprinting it on the ground.

Within moments, a rift appeared in the middle of these talismanic words, a black rift, a blackness blacker than the lightless shadows of a dark room, and immediately afterward, a small monster leaped out of it.

“Who, and what has brought me here?”

This brat wasn’t quite the same as Galdus’s; Galdus’s brat was covered in gray, while this one was covered in a dark yellow.

“They don’t seem to be a type of demon.” Jace said.

Galdes explained, “It’s possible, there are many kinds of brats and they don’t know each other, but we don’t know much about that yet.”

“You can try now.” Gagin asked, “Do I need to repeat myself?”

“No need.” Jace was still confident in his short-term memory.

He made the gesture as Gagin had done and recited, “Lernea, Ta’eeni, Anviso Lemi, Olga Sobimus.”

“Perfect.” Galdus whispered, “You’re a natural caster, Jace Sesso, there’s no doubt about it.”

In the chanting of the spell, runes of dark shadows congealed into the air appeared, and a small ghost jumped out in the chasm.

Jace felt a wave of dizziness, as if something had drained a piece of him, and a feeling of emptiness and disempowerment slammed into him.

Barely able to stand still, he took in the imp he had summoned in front of him, a dark blue in color, gibbering without knowing what he was talking about.

“Is it normal that I can’t understand him?”

Gakin said, “This weak thing does not know our language, and you need not communicate with him in any way. Now I will teach you how to execute this demon. Remember, this spell can only be used to end your own summoned demons, not to kill other demons.”

Jace nodded, it was probably some sort of evil magic within the pact to strangle each other, he could pretty much guess.

Gagin recited, “Bims Ennohi, Kutaini, Elamahikin.”

As soon as Gakin’s incantation ended, the yellow-skinned imp he had summoned screamed in agony as if he had been strangled, shouting “Why, why?” and other strange generic phrases, and then suddenly disappeared in a burst of shadowy flames as the entire room brightened for a moment, before darkening once more.

Galders frowned, he obviously didn’t like this scene very much.

The brat that Jace had summoned also went into a panic, screaming frantically as Jace began chanting the same incantation, but didn’t run away or try to fight back against any of the people in this room.

The spell was completed, and the blue brat disappeared into a ball of flame, a charred odor filled the room, like the smell of sulfur.

“Don’t take after Blackclaw.” Gagin glanced at Galdus in disgust and said, “It’s unbelievable that he wants to be friends with a brat.”

Galders smiled, “Don’t try to control what others think, Gagin, mutual respect is a prerequisite for working together.”
