Chapter 240 Commitments
by Jessie@AFNCCGrid went home, and in the afternoon Jace, still a little dazed, came to the fairgrounds in the trade area for a stroll to sober up, and in the process carried back a lamb for six silver coins.
Returning home in the evening, seeing the lamb tied up solidly, the Kid clapped his hands and said, “There, there, try it …… try it …… quickly.”
Jace puts the sheep on the floor and says, “You draw the sacrifice spell first, and wait for me to go over the counter-summoning spell.”
“Don’t!” The little ghost exclaimed, “Don’t …… master if you read it like that, I’ll be finished at once.”
“Almost forgot about that.” Jace realized he’d almost forgotten that he’d summoned the brat, “What should we do?”
The little ghost said, “Then I’ll hide first, and when you’ve succeeded in casting the spell, you’ll call me out, and as long as you can’t see me and your consciousness can’t move to me, the counter-summoning won’t work on me, don’t you think so?”
Jess said, “I haven’t tried it, so how do I know.”
“That’s the way it should be, that’s the way it should be.”
The little ghost squirmed and laughed twice as he drew the spell, and when he was done, he was in the bag in a flash.
Gripping his staff, Jace took his spellbook out and memorized the countersummoning incantation a few times in silence, cleared his throat, and leaned his back in the direction of the window, looking at the only bit of open space in the room. The tension grew as he looked at the lamb that seemed to be bleating tired and only gasping for breath in the middle of the spell.
Just don’t come out with a hellfire.
Thinking of this, he glanced out the window, feeling that if it were hellfire, a green meteorite would have fallen from outside.
Not the demonic guards either, he guessed that if the demonic guards showed up in this house, they could destroy all of his furniture and personal belongings with a little movement.
Moreover, he didn’t know if he could control the opponent, even if he used the anti-summoning spell to kill the opponent in seconds, a huge demon corpse wasn’t too easy to handle.
Intense curiosity had made it impossible for him to press on, though, and overpowered demons his mana would not be able to successfully complete the summoning.
Just summon it.
So, staring at the lamb, he softly recited, “Inhajet, Tulioxenoni, Thayathansa Cladini, Binodusis.”
After the reading, nothing happened.
There was no void rift, no demons that appeared in plain sight, nothing.
Where was the problem? But he did feel a powerful void open up with his chant, only there was nothing in front of him.
What’s going on? What kind of spell is this, a summoning spell or a buff or something?
Just in disbelief, Jace noticed that the lamb was dead, he hadn’t even touched it, and blood was oozing out of the lamb’s eyes, nostrils and mouth.
The sacrifice is complete.
Motherfucker …… isn t really going to drop a meteorite from the sky, is he? Doesn’t summoning hellfire require a hellfire stone?
Wait, what tastes sweet.
Jace leaned closer to the window to look out and suddenly felt a cold chill on his neck.
A pair of slender arms wrapped around herself.
“Let me see you ……”
Jace turned back with an elbow strike and the monster behind him fell onto the bed with a scream, he looked back and was looking at a demoness covered in a ghastly red color looking up at him with her face sticking out.
A pair of horns rose high above her head, more exaggerated than a goat’s, her long, dark black hair was strewn all over the bed, and her whole body flinched backward as if startled.
This demon was about one meter four to one meter five, with a concave and convex figure that even stood out too much in some places compared to its terribly thin waist, and underneath its long, muscularly rippled legs, a pair of goat hooves covered in black hair stomped firmly on the bedsheets.
This turned out to be a chimera! It’s a summoning spell for a chimera?
Not quite like the chimera she remembered, she wasn’t wearing a leather tunic, but a close-fitting layer of dark green, metallic, magically tattooed armor, and of course it was outrageously revealing, protecting only the vital areas.
And most importantly, where are her wings?
Where did her wings go?
The wingless demon’s eyes glowed with a pale blue light, and as he looked at Jace, his face, which was still slightly stunned, suddenly dissolved into a strangely evil smile.
“How about going a little harder, my new partner, just like you just did …… Let’s see just how far you can go as a man ……”
“Phantom.” Jace stiffened.
“That title is just too stereotypical.” The demon on the bed laughed, “Look at my evil and appalling face, what charm is there to speak of, a decent person like you would only give me a punch in the face immediately when he sees me, just like just now …… If it was a beautiful lady, like in your mind… . that …… pure …… like a blue magic crystal ……”
She narrowed her eyes, stared at Jace for a moment of pause, and said, “Or rather, a nobleman?”
“You can fucking read minds?”
“Of course not.” The chimera said, “It’s just that the human mind is so predictable… Do you want to try hiding your mind from me, dear? More practice, huh?”
“First of all try not to say dirty words, anger will reveal your mind, and impatience will make you lose all pretenses, for example, just now your words mean that I guessed right, and I can also guess that you have another woman in your heart, and that you are either in love with her, or hate her, or scruples, suspicions, hang-ups, expectations, and in a word . . she is very important to you.”
“Probably slightly less than you guessed, Charmed.” Jace said, “But still, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have hit you …… Wait, why am I apologizing, are you chimeraing me?”
The chimera gave a chuckle and asked, “So what’s the harm in being attracted to me? Are you afraid of falling in love with a demon?”
“I’m going to counter-summon!”
Jace was about to recite the spell of counter-summoning, yet the chimera was completely unfazed by it, and just watched as Jace recited the spell halfway through.
He stopped and asked, “You’re not afraid?”
“What am I afraid of?” The chimera said, “The mortal world is a dull and slimy quagmire, Warlock, and I thank you instead for your willingness to send me away from it. It’s just another coward who doesn’t honor his promises anyway, Eredar, Morgoth, Nasrezim …… I’ve traveled through the Twisted Void because of all sorts of promises, and you’re just one of countless backstabbers. Carry on, my dear, and take me to the next stop so I can continue my endless journey.”
After saying that the chimera smiled, Jace realized that her otherwise somewhat grotesque demonic appearance had become a bit smoother, and her light red skin actually had a bit of the game’s blood elf lust to it after getting used to it.
“What did I promise?” Jess couldn’t help but ask.
“You summoned me as a promise to fulfill my claim, and I say, you wouldn’t be completely ignorant of the Eredar spell, would you?” The chimera asked.
“So what do you want?”
“It’s simple …… I want you.”
“You want to just get me killed?” Jace asked, “Or do you want to take my soul? Make me like this beast?”
The chimera’s eyes scaled toward the dead lamb on the floor when the door suddenly thumped a few times.
“Damn it!”
Jace pressed himself against the door and glanced back as the chimera surprisingly disappeared!
The old neighbor lady outside said, “Mr. Sesso …… why is it so noisy again?”
Jess opened a crack in the door and said, “I’m reciting an essay, ma’am, but school starts tomorrow!”
“Keep your voice down, Mr. Sesso ……”
“Got it, ma’am.”
Jace closed the door and turned back, where was Phantom?
