    Chapter Index

Jace stepped to the center of the spell, memorized the essentials of casting the spell, and began to recite the characters on the top of the paper.

At first he didn t feel anything, but when he read to the middle, it was obvious that he felt a kind of taste …… of pulling with an unknown force, although this strange feeling dissipated more quickly than it came.

He tried to tug at the Shadow to retrieve this power, but it was as if he couldn’t hold on to anything; it was rare for him to feel this powerless when unleashing Shadow magic.

By the time he reached the unending end of the spell he was most looking forward to, which should have been the stage where he felt the power of the magic at its strongest, everything suddenly came to a screeching halt, catching him a little off guard.

After the chanting was complete, Jace watched the faintly glowing spell dim, feeling as if his consciousness was still being pulled by something that wasn’t coming back, and drifting off for a few moments before returning to normal.

Galdus hugged his arms, contemplated for a moment, and asked, “Can’t you feel anything either?”

“I can’t say it’s completely absent.” Jace said, “It seems like something responds to the spell, but I can’t tell what it is, do you guys feel the same way?”

“Pretty much.” Galdus said, “We both feel similar, Garkin …… he has his own understanding, Sulenna well I think there is a bit of a problem with her casting process, so I won’t refer to it. First of all do you think it’s a shadow magic?”

“It certainly is.” Jace was about to say because it was a demonic language spell, but suddenly realized that it didn’t seem right for him to let anyone here know that he had access to learning demonic languages.

Even now, he didn’t trust anyone here, whether it was Galdus, or Gagin, or Erlend or Sulenna of some sort.

If I had to call it a friend, it would probably be Ursula, the only warlock with little interest in learning magic ……

“Or I’ll ask it this way.” Galdus says, “Do you think it’s a more direct offensive magic, or one that channels Shadow energy to affect others, something like a fear spell type ……”

“Do you want to hear me tell the truth, Galders.” Jace asked.

    “Sure.”

“I think it’s a summoning spell.” Jace said, “I felt a connection to the otherworld similar to summoning a brat while casting the spell, but it wasn’t very strong.”

Galdus smiled, “That’s what I thought as well, Gagin always thought it was that this was some sort of direct damage magic, and if that was to be the case it was a bit too long.”

“I’m sorry, Galdus.” Jace looked at the paper and said, “I really can’t do anything about what this magic really is.”

Galdus handed Jace a transcript and said, “Take this back and study exactly what it is …… We’ll share it if we have trouble, Gagin and I have been working on this stuff for a while now, and he’s looking forward to the results.”

“Good.” Jace put the transcript in his bag and returned to the hall, Erland had left at some point, and Sulenna leaned against the wall and casually asked, “How’d it go, how’d you get out so fast?”

    “Nothing came of it.”

“You’re not much better, kid.” Sulenna looked like she was drunk, but it wasn’t like she could even tell she was blushing with her tanned skin.

She stared at Jace, holding her beer glass and asked, “Care for a drink?”

    “No.” Jace said coldly.

“What the fuck are you doing, you look bitter every day, where’s the trouble? Jess, I can’t understand you sometimes …… think of more ways to cheer yourself up and be happy.”

Hearing this, Jace gave her another look and walked over and picked up the half-full glass of wine and clinked it with Sulenna’s before taking a drink.

“Still drinking?” Sulenna asked with a smile.

“No more drinks.” Jess licked the beer froth from the side of his lips and said, “I have to go home and get some sleep, so thanks for talking to me about it.”

When he got home in the evening and closed the door, Jace’s sleepiness had pretty much dissipated.

“Saeuno, stop what you’re doing for a moment and help me with this.”

“Coming, master!” All work counted as fun for Sayonaw now, as long as it didn’t involve copying things.

“Help me see what this spell …… means and how to read it correctly.”

“Ah …… master, you’ve been tricked.” Sëanor let out a laugh and said, “It’s not a spell!”

“What?” Jess asked, “And what is this?”

“Look.” Sëanor said, pointing to the front, “This is the phrase, which should be recited in this manner, followed by, which requires an active soul, and as for the middle, ah …… that’s a real incantation, and it seems to be a summoning of a demon from the ‘Boundless Realm’ of the incantation.”

    “What is the Boundless Realm?”

“That I don’t know, master, there are millions of worlds in the Twisted Void, just name any inexplicable place, where can I find it! This must be a note from another demon to his master, I don’t know how you got it!”

Jace mulled it over for a moment, thinking could it be referring to the Void Interface? The one that summons Voidwalkers?

No, there was no way that Saeuno didn’t know where the Void Archons were.

What is the soul of the event, a soul fragment?

But he won’t suck souls now ……

“So, how do you get a soul, is it hard to believe that you need to sacrifice a living person to successfully cast this spell?”

“Souls can be very broad!” The little ghost said, “I think it would be best if it was a mortal, an animal one wouldn’t be out of the question, like a lamb, or a calf or something! Sacrificing it during the spell …… requires a spell na, my lord.”

    “Can you draw?”

“Hey, hey, hey.” The kid giggled, “Sacrifices like that, of course I will …… but I have a condition ……”

Jace grabbed it by the neck and said, “You make a deal with your master?”

“No more talking! No more talking! Whatever the master says!”

“I’m glad you know what you’re doing, but where am I going to find a lamb to find a calf this late in the day.” Jace let go and sat on the bed for a moment, thinking, and asked, “Would a mouse work? Mice are smart enough for that!!!”

“The mouse is smart enough.” The little ghost rubbed his neck and said, “But its power is just too small, master, instead, it will produce a catastrophic and big failure due to insufficient energy for soul guidance!”

“You’ve heard about the great lord of the Burning Legion trying to descend on Azeroth himself 10,000 years ago, right? As a result, the teleportation portal he managed to get out was blown up by a bunch of weak natives, and he got his head caught in the suddenly closed teleportation channel! Hahahahaha! Growing an extra pair of horns is inconvenient, hahahahaha!”

Jace stared expressionlessly at the little brat laughing maniacally, and slapping his knees and shaking like he was having a seizure while doing so, this time truly believing that it had absolutely nothing to do with the Burning Legion at all.

“Don’t laugh, teach me to smooth out the pronunciation first, surely it’s not accurate enough in this generic language.”

“Nah, let me spell these words first.”

With the help of the Kid, Jace re-refined the incantation in demonic language to “Inhajet, Tulioxenoni, Tayatansa Cladini, Binodusis.”

Next, there’s one animal sacrifice left; cows don’t work too well, lambs should be okay.
