    Chapter Index

Early the next morning, Jace took the small box with the elfin dragon’s tentacles and made his way to the Sorcerer’s Sanctuary.

Thinking to himself that this time Amy Marin would really be sorry if he didn’t make a good showing this time for such a witty quiz of knowledge in Dalaran.

Following the familiar path to the door of Marin’s study, he opened the door to see that a woman clad in a grass-green tunic was standing at the desk inside.

The sunlight coming in through the window cast bright and dark shadows across the room, causing Jace not to see the man for a moment.

“Amy, what a great New Year’s Eve, look what I’ve got for you.”

The woman looked back, wait a minute, is this …… even an elf?

“Ms. Marin just went out, human, but she’ll be back later.”

Jace thought the tugging tone so familiar …… squinted slightly before looking again, it is not Winressa?

    How could Windleysa be here?

Jace rubbed his neck and thought to himself that he wasn’t having some weird dream again, was he?

Just as he was doubting himself, however, the elf spoke up again and asked, “It’s Mr. Jace Sesso? You’re back?”

That’s when suddenly a person behind them pushed in the door interrupting the conversation between the two. Jess looked back and it was none other than Amy Marin who came in.

She was about to open her mouth to speak to the elf with a pile of papers in her arms when she saw Jace next to her and froze for a moment before a look of excitement came over her face.

“Jace! It’s you! Did you get back yesterday or this morning? Why do you seem to have gotten darker after your trip home, don’t you see no sun up north?”

“If you only knew what …… I’ve been through this trip,” Jace sighed stiflingly.

“You must tell me all about it.” Amy smiled and said, “By the way, to introduce you, this is Ms. Aselwin of Quel’Saras. Ms. Aselwin, this is my good schoolmate Jace Sesso.”

“Jace, Ms. Aselwyn came to us by order of the Ranger General of Silvermoon City to investigate the remnants of the Horde, unfortunately my father is discussing with Master Andromas about admission to the academy can’t help, he asked me to take his investigation material about the orcs to her, you should also remember to register there in Master Andromas’ office this afternoon.”

    “I remember.” Jace said.

    Aselwin?

    Windleysa?

    She got her name backwards?

The “Aselwyn” was staring at herself at the moment, looking particularly stiff, and Jace knew what it meant – don’t give away her true identity.

“Hello, Ms. Aselwin.” Jace said. The elfess cleared her throat and said, “Hello, Mr. Jace Sesso. Thank you very much, Ms. Marin, then I will take my leave.”

She took the wiped paper and left the room with a slight nod, Jace’s eyes following her until the door was covered.

“These elves are such a pain in the ass, talking like they’re making servants, even the thanks sound strange.” Amy grumbled quietly and shook her head, but then noticed the look in Jace’s eyes.

“Why, Jess, do you know her?”

“Like, not really recognizable.” Jace says, “Elves all look the same, I’ve seen so many in Dalaran, and they do all look like what you said.”

“Ha, what a trip to Dalaran!” Amy leaned over the table and asked, “How was it, you didn’t forget anything you should have remembered, did you?”

“How could I forget.” Jess put the box on the table and said, “Open it.”

A look of loss brushed across Amy’s face, however she opened it and immediately stared in surprise.

“Holy light in the heavens, it’s the feather of the phoenix!”

“Ah, uh, you ……” said Jess, “You actually knew?”

“Of course I do.” There was even a bit of guilt in Amy’s tone, “I saw a Kenrito archmage sign with this ages ago, it’s so precious, I didn’t actually want you to buy something so expensive.”

“It didn’t really cost anything.” Jace said, “I won it as a prize at a Winterfest event in Dalaran, they didn’t tell me how much it cost, just that I thought it was pretty and would be perfect to give you as a thank you gift.”

“Actually I didn’t do much lah, thank you so much Jess! I’m having a hard time imagining if this year could get any bigger!”

Amy came around the table and hugged Jace in one fell swoop, hugging him hard for a few moments before letting go, leaving Jace smelling like an unknown perfume.

“By the way, I have to put it back in my bedroom first, or Dad’s going to try to snatch it away when he sees it! Be sure to tell me about Dalaran sometime, for sure!”

She finished and headed out the door, leaving Jace alone in the room.

Ah, a hug is pretty warm too.

Marin was discussing things with Andromas, and it seemed that he wouldn’t be able to come here for a while, so Jace thought it would be better to go over to Andromas this afternoon and ask about checking in.

This morning might as well go ahead and buy two decent clothes …… especially mage robes, that death knight died without forgetting to scourge himself for a while, and it hurts to think of that scene that burned 12 silver coins.

    But what about Walesa?

Walking out the door, Jace looked over to see the green figure leaning against the wall of the alchemy room doorway not far away looking this way, and got up when he saw himself coming out.

“Ms. Walesa, what brings you to Stormwind?” He asked as he walked over, “And took a false name?”

Wenressa glanced at the Wizard’s Sanctuary above the gardens in the distance and said, “The name is false, Mr. Jace Sesso, but the reason for coming to Stormwind is not – I did come to the Stormwind Kingdom to investigate about the Horde.”

Jace glanced at the stack of papers in her arms and asked, “Is it something to do with the dragon throated orcs in the wetlands, my teacher Master Marin has been tracking the dragon throated orcs, I’m sure he’ll share as much of his research as he can.”

“No.” Walesa said, “I’m here specifically to see you.”

    “Looking for me?”

Is it because of that order?

So the Relic Society is working with the Farseer?

Wenressa nodded, ”It is also because we know each other that Sylvanas agreed to let me carry out this mission. As for these documents, it’s just because I didn’t find you just now, so I wanted to see if there’s any other way to solve my current difficulties. Why don’t we find a place to talk slowly? Isn’t it a bit cold here, I see you’re dressed quite thinly.”

Jace glanced at his shirt, it did seem a bit inappropriate to wear such a thing in the middle of winter, that is, in Stormwind, if it were in Tirisfal it would have been freezing to death on the streets.

“Let’s go to the tavern then, the gold-encrusted rose, or the blue hermit?”

“Is there a difference between these two?”

“The gold-encrusted rose is full of normal people, and the blue hermit is full of mages.”

    “Gold-encrusted roses.”
