Chapter 176: A big, fat card.
by Jessie@AFNCCAs Walesa pulled away with two consecutive light backflips, Talon swung his arm out to channel a spell, only to be cut right off by Walesa with a torrent of arcane spells!
Talon coughed violently twice and cursed a few times his muscles were again tinged purple with the power of the Shadow, he leapt out and slammed into Winressa, again she sidestepped and dodged, in the process shooting back another arrow that Talon smashed with his arm armor.
The Death Knight was much faster than before, and Wenressa dodged back and forth waiting for an opportunity to attack, but several attempts failed to hurt the key, and the two sides seemed to be at a stalemate.
Talon supported his body by the power of the dead, fighting like one of those walkers who never felt tired, and showed no signs of slowing down at all from the beginning until now, both in terms of injuries and the use of his mana, but could Walesa do the same?
Kefal hadn’t moved for what looked like a long time with a serious injury, and if Jace didn’t do something about it at this point, it wasn’t looking good.
Jace was sweating in pain as he gripped the staff that was stuck into his left shoulder.
But even if it hurts, it’s time to pull it out.
“One, two, three, ah!”
“Uh ……”
Jace curled up in pain for a moment, cursing a string of beautiful Chinese words in rapid succession as he felt a fiery rolling and swelling in his shoulder, but his body was cold as hell. The standing water on the ground was already full of blood, and his hands, staff, and shoulder were all covered in blood left over from the rain.
Luckily the staff was thin enough and had dropped the tip, if this staff had a gem or something, this blow was going to directly break the entire arm.
He raised his head and glanced that way, only to find that the arcane light in the sky had stopped flickering at some point, and without the protection, the roar of hordes of black dragons was even clearer and more appalling than it had been a moment ago.
A thought came to Jace’s mind.
The Eye of Dalaran has been lost.
If Talon Bloodmage is here, who went and stole it?
Jace clenched his right hand, feeling like he still had some strength left, yet tried to recite the spell again when he felt a sharp pain in his head.
This night of spell casting and continuous tossing and turning had drained his energy.
The warlock pack was not around, without any mana potions, and saw Talon gradually gaining the upper hand in his grappling with Walesa, the leader of the Shadow Council who had inherited the mantle of Gul’dan not only mastered dark spells, but was also as fearsome in close combat as a berserker warrior.
Walesa pierced through the Blood Demon’s armor and body again and again with her two sharp blades, but was never able to do much damage, and despite Win’s she was as agile as a ghost, she might have to be killed on the spot if she accidentally got by Talon once!
If she gets hurt again, then she really doesn’t have to play. Does this count as the last minute?
If we don’t show our cards, there will be no more following.
Jace recited this one spell that he had been writing in a corner of his spell booklet, turning to it from time to time but never reciting it.
It was the first time he had dared to recite the spell in its entirety, in all seriousness.
Hearing this incantation, all of the shadow energies that filled the sky approached this way like a pack of wolves that had been starving for an unknown length of time.
Including those shadow powers that were released and scattered into the air because of Talon Blood Demon’s wild shadow magic, they all surrounded towards Jace’s side.
However they didn’t start anything immediately after they got close.
Jace felt like a lamb that was being mobbed by wolves, and Shadow leaned over to look at him without feeding, as if he were taunting him.
Is it possible that I read it wrong?
Luhravinkta, Lualakipta ……
He chanted again, this time carefully reciting the Nasrezim language as Sëanor had taught him to pronounce it.
Suddenly, as if it had received some order, the power of the shadows rushed towards his skin, his five senses, and broke through the outermost layer after layer of barriers of his body in unison!
And he felt as if the dark shadows lurking within him had suddenly gone mad, devouring everything they could!
Jace straightened up, he couldn’t begin to describe the pain anymore, but soon the pain, which continued to worsen, was suppressed again by the sudden swell within him, the intense desire to kill.
The whites of his eyes had been stained purple, dark lines ran across his skin, and purple-tinged blood flowed from the corners of his mouth and palms, but he had never felt so invigorated.
This time Jace was no longer resisting anything, the Lady of Shadows had taken him in her arms and the wicked dagger pierced his neck, making a bloodied cut.
But he enjoyed the process immensely.
It was as if he wiped the pus and blood from the wound with his fingers and dabbed it into his mouth, closing his eyes to savor the sweet pleasure of the gore.
In the pleasure that nearly devoured reason, whether it was the two elves, the Talon Blood Demon, or the black dragons circling in the sky, the Kenrito mages fighting with those black dragons, and the guards running around on the ground, all of them were like a swarm of chattering and noisy insects and ants that were irritating to the senses.
Jace raised the Staff of Talon, the staff tainted with his blood just as he gripped it, and began to busily release magical light, spewing out Shadowfire as the rags wrapped around it burst into flames.
He looked to the evil spirit that was swinging hammer after hammer at the female elf and recited the spell of bloodsucking again!
This time, his voice was like that of a true demon jumping out of the twisted void, so much so that even the curling of the tongue, which humans were more adept at making, was unusually difficult, ultimately making the incantation strange and unfamiliar.
Perhaps there was something wrong with his hearing, but it didn’t matter, the magic was at least unleashed.
Talon Blood Demon’s blackened, corpse-like arms suddenly began to swell and bulge as he stopped his attack in a panic and turned to stare at Jace.
This time there was no longer any smile on his face, and sharply he recited the spell again reaching out his hand, but this time the staff gave no response!
“Betrayal ……”
Talon growled, but Winressa didn’t give him time to think of a way to respond, stabbing him hard in the jaw.
Talon spat out a mouthful of black blood with a grunt, and Wenressa tried to take the opportunity to strike him again, but the Blood Demon reached out and grabbed her directly by the neck, lifting her into mid-air!
He wanted to strangle this skinny elf with all his might, but he couldn’t use his strength because his vigor kept being extracted instead, and he was about to lose his grip on her!
While struggling, Wenressa kept stabbing the Blood Demon’s arm continuously with her knife, Talon cursed frantically in Orcish and tried to continue resisting, the two tangled over there for quite a while while Talon appeared more and more unable to support himself.
Eventually he gave up and threw Winressa off the roof with a yell, his entire body leaping up into the sky in a cloud of evil shadows and scurrying far away into the night.
What’s this?
Jace felt like the magic he was channeling suddenly lost its point of focus and just dispersed into the air, and his entire body sat on the ground as if he had lost his support.
It’s not magic, it’s the soul of Talon Blood Demon.
The shadow light dissipated, and Jace watched as the huge, exaggerated husk rapidly wasted away until it couldn’t stand up and planted itself down the stairs with a lifeless “plop”.
Jace braced himself, and he noticed that his shoulder didn’t seem to hurt as much anymore.
Touching it over, a bloody hole, his fingers shook.
It feels like a weird smell like you’ve been paralyzed during surgery.
Has his body been consumed by the Shadow? Going to become a Shadow creature like the kid said?
Not wanting to think about it any longer, Jace found Kefal leaning against the back of the wall on the other roof, who was coughing in pain, his right hand helplessly holding the bloody wound in his ribs that had nearly killed him with that scrape of Talon’s warhammer.
“Kefal, hold on a little longer, I’m going to call someone, at least don’t die trying to save me.”
Kefal gurgled out of his mouth and said with difficulty, “You think I wanted to come to your rescue? If I’d known I was chasing Talon Bloodmage himself, I ……”
Halfway through his sentence, his eyes seemed to glance over Jace’s shoulder and he held the words back again.
Jace didn’t bother arguing with him about anything anymore, and had just gotten up when Kefal coughed twice more and gasped, “Where’s Walesa?”
“She fell.”
“Go and see her …… quickly, or I’ll really die.”
“Mr. Kefal …….”
Walesa ran over halfway to the side and took a bottle out of her own pocket and held it out to Kefal’s mouth, who immediately went wide-eyed and went over to the corners of the mouth and took a little, followed by a big gasp, and blood came to her face all of a sudden.
So he cares about Walesa because she has a healing potion, this guy ……
Jace watched as the two men seemed to be able to handle themselves, so he stood up and took two steps back, he’d already delayed too long and had to get to Grid.
The result was that before he could take a few steps, he suddenly spat out uncontrollably a greenish spray of dirty water onto the ground.
He stared at the puddle of green juice, feeling that this time it might be bad.
The reason why he didn’t smoke the death knight in front of him was because Jace knew that these half-dead dogs must not have anything good in their bodies.
There was neither an ounce of life-energy nor much Shadow energy in all that was spat out, it was all pure necrotic corrupting power that was harmful to him, a great living man.
Gul’dan’s Death Knights, even the Talon-Blood Demons, didn’t blend so perfectly with human bodies that they were little different from a bunch of soul-possessed abominations.
Smoking them wouldn’t end well at all …… Of course, that was the consequence Jace had expected, he just couldn’t help it. But there was still this agony of being tortured by necrotic rotting matter, which at least meant he was still a fleshling and not a Shadow creature.
At that moment, a bottle was handed to the mouth.
“Here.” Winressa said.
Jace bent down to look at the bottle, the potion inside seemed to be clear and couldn’t tell what color it was, oddly enough, was this a healing potion?
“You’re in bad shape, drink it.”
The elf seemed a little upset in his tone, probably because of the slightly skeptical look in Jace’s eyes, but Jace was also just a little tired because he had just finished throwing up.
He brought it over and immediately muffled the remaining half of the bottle in one gulp, and Winressa stared in surprise, wanting to say something but not saying it, and finally just stiffly accepting the empty bottle that Jace returned to him.
“Thanks, I …… have to go find my friends.”
With a mouth full of the stench of dead bodies, not a single extra word was wanted to be said.
Jace walked to the edge of the roof, ready to find a place to get down.
Just now when he ran over, his attention was all on the Blood Demon and Kefal, and now let him jump over from building to building one by one is not dare at all, and he is not a true martial arts replacement.
“Hey, Warlock! Next.”
Jace looked back at the sound of Winressa’s voice and caught the pelt she threw at him in his right hand, one of her two weapons.
Slightly glowing with a bright silver-colored sharp edge and a golden-green vine-like curved handguard, the weapon was exquisite like a work of art rather than a killing weapon.
But just now, Wenressa had taken it and broken through Talon Blood Demon’s armor over and over again, undoubtedly showing that this thing’s killing power was by no means comparable to that of ordinary weapons.
“Don’t die and remember to give it back to me.”
