    Chapter Index

The city of Dalaran is roughly in the shape of a ring, but there are smaller rings nestled within the larger ones, and there aren’t always straight roads connecting them, which can be confusing at times for out-of-towners.

Jace left the corridor and didn’t have long to walk before a fork in the road, the rain was pouring down and a burst of occasional whispers distracted him so much that he didn’t know which way to go all of a sudden.

At that moment, he noticed a purple-clad guard standing there at the corner of the road to his right.

He had his back turned towards himself and seemed to be guarding that intersection… could there be a Death Knight present here as well?

“Sir!” Jace called out as he walked over, “If I want to go to Horn Tree Lane is that the way to go?”

The guard turned back at the sound and just froze when he saw Jace, saying nothing.

Jace squinted his misty eyes, it was impossible to see the man clearly in the rain, he shouted again and asked, “Have any death knights shown up here? If so ……”

Halfway through, something didn’t seem quite right.

Compared to those purple-clad guards that he had encountered in the main city before, this one was a bit too calm.

The sky crossed an arcane bright aura to illuminate the street, he now saw the guard’s appearance was originally the violet eye on the battle robe was already an extremely exaggerated bloody gaping hole, as if it had been clawed out by some kind of monster.

The guard began to move his feet towards Jace, carrying the guard’s saber in both hands as he walked faster and faster, the guts and gore hanging from that large gash quivering with his steps, not affecting his movements at all!

The opponent roared low and stabbed with his sword in both hands, and though he was fast and fierce, his movements were messy and disorganized, and Jace pushed his staff against his chest with a hard shove, then slammed it full force towards his head, knocking him to the ground with a single blow.

He stabbed the end of the staff with the tor into his skull as hard as he could, ending his convulsions.

Is this …… the resurrected Defender?

Jace continued on, and as he walked he heard another whisper, but this time it was audible.

    “Surprisingly, it’s a perfect …… shell.”

    What?

Jace almost thought he’d misheard, what did that mean?

“That is why my staff is at your disposal, Jace Sesso, ah …… so it is.”

Could it be that the Blood Demon was trying to take away his own body to use as a vessel for his soul?

But where is he? How did he see himself?

The bottom line is, why does he know his name?

Jace looked back and forth for a moment and was seeing a walker on the roof of the building staring at him.

    The walkers are his eyes?

Is this guy out of his mind? Instead of stealing the Eye of Dalaran, he’s here craving his own body?

But what if it wasn’t Talon who stole the Eye of Dalaran?

Dalaran in the alternate timeline was free of Farseer Rangers stationed at the time of Talon Bloodmage’s arrival.

If it hadn’t been for Jace and Grider running into the Black Dragon in Southsea Town, they might still be searching for the whereabouts of the escaped Black Dragon in the area from Hillsbrad to Outlander.

Will the Blood Demons, or Deathwing, change their thieving tactics in the face of these farriers who specialize in tracking and searching?

Jace realizes that he has made this timeline not quite the same.

Now, then, he shouldn’t go any further toward where Grider lived.

If the Blood Demon was really after him, wouldn’t it be a disservice to him to lead him to Griddle?

Right now, Grid’s injuries weren’t completely healed, so even if he came over to help, he was completely asking for trouble. Not to mention dealing with a monster like the Blood Demon.

Now it is surprising that we really have to consider dealing with Talon Blood Demon, it is because of this staff in the hand, right …… If it is not it, it might not have attracted the attention of the death knights in the first place.

He looked to the southeast, continuing that way was where the mages were fighting the Black Dragon Legion, if he could run to where the mages were before the Blood Demon found him, he should be able to dodge a bullet.

“Run, run …… though run …… Steal from others and pay the price eventually.”

The low voice was always around his ears, and Jace couldn’t help but turn around, but he couldn’t see anything.

He burrowed into an alley and the space around him became narrow.

A clanging metallic sound becomes clear ……

It’s footsteps, the footsteps of a death knight!

Where is …… Where is ……

Surprisingly, it was coming from the wall next to it!

The wall to his side exploded without warning, a piece of debris hitting Jace right on top of him knocking him over.

Before Jace had a chance to get up, he felt himself being lifted straight out of the pile of debris and dust by a strong, monstrous hand, lifting him into mid-air!

“Stealing my property and killing my men is simply wanton …… “The dust gradually dispersed, and Talon Blood Demon revealed his true form, clad in a yellowish-brown cloak, with his red armor underneath illuminated by a streak of arcane light streaking across the sky It was a layer of metal that had been severely corroded by the Shadow, like the armor of a monstrous insect.

Although his soul was occupying what was a human body, this body had been severely alienated by his dark energy.

The monster was roughly estimated to be at least two meters three to two meters four, and its body was so strong that it was hair-raising to look at.

Flanked by the illumination of an arcane lamp shrouded in dust and rain, Jace could make out the dark half of his face.

Sickly dark skin full of folds, broken teeth exposed under broken lips, and a nearly skin-and-bone lower forehead that looked like an old woman about to suffocate alive.

In his other hand he held an exaggerated page hammer, the pages of which burned with purplish ghostly fire around a circular gem in the center, as if it were a wobbling demonic eye.

“A perfect shell indeed, it’s so hard to just kill you.” The Blood Demon smiled.

Jace felt like he was going to suffocate as he grabbed his hand that was lifting his neck, and now in this situation he couldn’t even speak, let alone recite a spell!

    “Cecil!”

I don’t know where a shout came from, and Jace even thought he was hallucinating.

Almost simultaneously, Talon Blood Demon’s hand was covered by a sudden layer of frozen frost, stiffening to the point of immobility.

He blanched and held his hand out as hard as he could, and even though it ripped through the freeze in one fell swoop, Jace took advantage of it and was able to get out of the way!

    “Run!”

Jace heard the shouts and in the chaos picked up his staff and ran into the ruins that had been broken open by the Blood Demon, who insulted him behind his back with a few words in Orcish.

“Talon Blood Demon …… Damn, it’s really you!”

Jace heard whose voice it was, it was Kefal Minwing!

I can’t believe he saved himself?

“Arrogant Quel’dorei, you have harmed that human! I didn’t want to kill him …… but now I’m not in the mood, it’s just as good to be dead if it’s just a shell!”

After these words, Jace, who was running away, suddenly felt a huge wave of shadow energy swooping in from behind him, taking his heart in eagle’s claws!

His heart instantly beat like a convulsion, and the pain of fire spread from his chest, and Jace didn’t take more than a few steps before he flopped down in a cloud of dust from the pain.
