    Chapter Index

“The Book of Medivine is most likely one of them.” Klsugard said, “But as far as I know, that book contains too many spells and knowledge that are difficult to translate for us to be able to determine the purpose of the person who gave the order with that one clue alone.”

“Well, let’s start by counting the Book of Madivan, so what about the remaining two holy relics? Master Klsugard is right, without the remaining two we have no idea what the Book of Madivan can be used for.” Aethas Sunbreaker’s particular generic accent made his question rather obvious.

“Maybe it’s in Quel’thalas.” A Gilneas scholar looked at Aethas and said.

“Then Talon Blood Demon might as well give up on the idea.” Aethas said, “Silvermoon City’s magic can never be infiltrated unless it is breached by forceful means.”

“I think this matter should be put to a political or military meeting for discussion, not a language discussion.” Klsugard said, “Let’s focus on the language of the letter itself, as for the content of this letter, I will soon take it to the Kenrito meeting to discuss it with the other Masters, including Master Antonidas ……”

“But the reason we learned the orcish language in the first place was supposed to be for the good of the Alliance, Master Kelsugard.” Dushan said.

The scholar from Kul Tiras said, “I agree with Master Carlo Duchamp. Considering that the content of this order is too recent, and that it concerns the safety of the treasures that may be preserved in each kingdom, we, the researchers of the Orcish language, should make full use of our knowledge, our abilities, and interpret what this order expresses as best we can. You have seen the disaster in the city of Outlander, with all those wounded soldiers and burnt walls, and it is surprising that the allied armies of Lordaeron and Stormgarde have suffered a crushing defeat against the remnants of the Horde’s army! Holy light above, if we had been given a similar order earlier, we might have been able to stop this tragedy earlier.”

Klsugard looked at him and said, “It has been months since the defeat of the city of Outlander, Master Redimo, and to this day Talon Bloodmage has not shown his face, and even Holy Light does not know where he is.”

He looked to the others again and said, “Perhaps he has already rushed to the Valley of Thorns, or Cintron. It is entirely possible that the other two holy relics are kept among the cities of the Gulabash and Amani trolls, two empires that have existed in this world far longer than history records, and who have preserved ancient artifacts in Zul’Grab and Zu’Aman that are beyond the imagination of the average person.”

“This point made by Master Klsugard …… is indeed possible.”

“Is it possible that it could be three representative treasures from the three groups of humans, elves and trolls? The Book of Madivan is undoubtedly a representative of the magical artifacts of our human kingdoms, so hopefully the expeditionary force from the Watchtower will be able to stop that thief and prevent it from flowing to the other side of the Dark Gate?”

“Maybe it’s dwarves? Maybe it’s that evil magical artifact underneath Grimbator, the Blood Demon’s men may not have found it and started excavating.”

“Let’s keep the conversation in the real world, Mr. Coroso, and not talk about some distant legend.”

“Grimbletto is real!” A dwarf shouted. Just like that it went completely off the rails, and Jace was a little incredulous that Kelsugard would shift the focus in such an outrageous direction.

He had expected the mage to reach out to the Eye of Dalaran soon, after all, everyone had ordered so clearly.

Jace took a deep breath and said, “Masters, Teachers, even if the Blood Demon may have gone elsewhere, I think that Dalaran should be more protected, Master Kelsugard, after all, Dalaran and Kenrito are equally protective of many of the most powerful spells known to mankind to have ever existed …… “

“The young apprentice is quite right, it is Dalaran where we are that we need to be on our guard the most.” Aethas agreed.

“The treasury’s defenses have been perfect, gentlemen, not at all inferior to Quel’Thalas.” Kelsugard responded calmly, “However, I will bring this up at the next Council of Six discussion.”

“This Orcish Order you have brought is very precious Mr. Sesso, please protect it, I’m sure there must be a very large number of people who would like to get another glimpse of him in his original form. After all, according to you, it is highly likely that it was written by Talon Bloodmagic himself book …… Now then, by the scholars of the Kingdom of Lordaeron bring their findings.”

Klsugard said the whole paragraph, his eyes did not leave Jace at all, his expression was as cold as ice, but it was as if it implied some kind of vicious warning, a naked threat.

Is this an illusion? Is it because of one’s own prejudice against Klsougaard that one feels this way? Slow down ……

Why did Klsugard try to skip topics from the beginning and then later take the discussion to other irrelevant places?

A possibility bubbled up in Jace’s mind that he didn’t even want to consider; could it be that he was being dragged into the plans of the Black Dragon and Talon Blood Demon?

Or even that Korsugard was simply an insider, and that there was some secret deal between them?

He helped the Blood Demon enter the treasure trove and steal the Eye of Dalaran in exchange for getting pointers from the Death Knights, or even the Black Dragon, in the study of Necromancy?

Jace’s mind was literally churning at the thought of that look.

He glanced back at the honorable member of the Council of Six, feeling deeply that there was no way to do anything further for the Eye of Dalaran here anymore.

Because if his suspicions were true, the contents of this letter wouldn’t even make it out of this room!

And how much incentive do those scholars have to continue to explore the identity of the holy relics after they leave the conference?

It would be nice for them to go back home and admonish their respective kings and lords, how could they possibly care about the problems in Dalaran anymore?

“Thank you, I’ll keep an eye out, Master Kelsugard.”

With that said, Jace turned and walked up the steps, feeling a little guilty that he hadn’t argued his case down, but what else could he do now?

Going on with an open confrontation with Korsugard after it became obvious that he had a problem?

Jace’s purpose is to survive the crisis, not to gloriously become an insignificant piece of a possible flesh and blood abomination in the basement of Kelsugard.

Before he could take a few steps, however, the entire conference hall suddenly shook and dust drifted down from above.

Kelsugard frowned and looked up at the skylight high above the room as the scholars in the room gushed.

“Do they have earthquakes in Otterbank too?” Stormgard’s female scholar asked in a panic.

The scholar of Gilneas gripped the armrests of his chair and said, “Technically this isn’t Otterland, but Dalaran is located at the junction of the Gilneas Peninsula and the Otterland Mountains, ma’am, so even if there were an earthquake it wouldn’t be that unusual.”

Jace had just gotten to his feet when a stumbling, running apprentice came running up from the bottom of the steps behind the podium, and immediately after he saw Kelsugard he cried out in a trembling voice, “Master, Dalaran is under attack.”

Now, everyone high above was taken aback.

“Speak clearly, attacked by whom? Terrenus II?!” Aethas Sunbreaker asked angrily as he stood up.

“It’s black dragons! Master, it’s hordes of black dragons!”
