Chapter 164.
by Jessie@AFNCCJace hid in the path and stayed still for a while, there were no alarms, no orders coming out, no hurried footsteps, and it wasn’t long before the guards over there seemed to be walking back before he fled out of the path to find his mother.
Terrenus II’s personal temperament became more and more mild after he got old, rarely getting angry over some trivial matters, even if he really saw himself, he probably wouldn’t pursue anything.
At this point, thinking back to the two girls from earlier, he could probably guess who both were.
The older one must be Alsace’s sister, Jialia Minethil, while the smaller one in the taki-green cloak would be Gianna, and Jace remembered that the two of them seemed to be on good terms as children.
Jia Liya is probably already fourteen or fifteen years old and has grown up a bit, and from the side face you can see that it is a rather beautiful classical style beauty embryo, while Gianna …… is indeed a child, and can not see anything from such a distance.
“See?” Henny asked anxiously.
“Saw it saw it.” Jess said, “And I saw the king.”
“With the King there, we might as well check out that chapel on the east side of town, that old guy drags his feet on everything.” Henny said.
Jace nodded, his mind still full of Alsace’s face as he gazed up at the bishop. It was hard to imagine that in a decade or so that child would personally destroy an entire kingdom, or even half a continent, turning the entirety of Tirisfa and Eastwilde from a thriving northern field and forest into an ethereal land of the dead, littered with zombies, ghosts, and decaying beasts.
Back on the street, he said as he walked, “Mom, you must come with me to Storm City in the future.”
“I’ll listen to you son, and if your dad doesn’t want to, I’ll yell at him until he does.” Henny said as she wrapped her arms around her son.
Jace looked at her and thought to himself that this didn’t seem quite like what his dad had said.
“My dad definitely listens to you, just do what you want.”
Henny smiled and said nothing.
When we got to the chapel on the east side of town, there wasn’t much of a crowd here, probably all gone to the cathedral to see what was going on.
The pastor, sitting at the chapel door saw Henny coming from a distance and greeted her, “Late today, Mrs. Sesso, did you go over to the cathedral as well?”
“The cathedral is occupied by the king.” Henny said, “That’s why I’m still coming here.”
“Come pray today too ……”
The old priest smiled and nodded before noticing the tall, skinny man next to Henny.
“This is …… Mr. Jess Sesso?”
“It’s me, Reverend, it’s been a while.” Jace said with a bit of trepidation.
“Blessed be the Holy Light.” The priest smiled, came over and touched Jace’s face, and said, “You little brat, did you ever catch Archbishop Alonso Sfao stealing a snack?”
Jace glared and said, “I wouldn’t dare run into the Cathedral of Light and steal something to eat.”
“So it’s bullying me, an old man who can’t see?”
“No …… how old I am.”
The pastor grabbed Jace’s hand, looked him in the eye and said, “Two or three years feels like a different person.”
“Teenagers grow up just as fast.” Henny sat down next to her and said, “Reverend, Jace’s arm is burned, why don’t you give help to look at it.”
“Oh, I smell something ominous, little Sesso is ……”
Jace glanced at the priest, who nodded knowingly and said, “I’ll change your bandage first, if it burns.”
The priest removed the bandage from Jace’s arm, and while there was still some residual blood and dried bodily fluids on the bandage, the surface of the banded skin didn’t look like much anymore, just still a little rough and peeling.
Henny clearly smelled the unpleasant odor that was emanating, and she frowned, “Reverend, it looks like it’s about to get better, so why does it smell like it’s a little serious?”
“It’s the bandage.” The priest said, “I’ll just put some medicine on it and change the bandage.”
“Is it true?” Jess asked more, “Is it really …… okay?”
The old priest took a serious look at Jace emphasizing, “It’s really no problem.” After saying that the pastor went to the chapel to get the medicine, while saying that there were quite a lot of burns some time ago, so there were quite a lot of medicine left over, just enough for Jace to use, and while applying it, he told some precautions.
Jace had been worried that this koan priest had summoned a holy light spell or something to give him a hard time, but that was quite a relief.
But while the priest was reciting his prayers and anointing his hands, he was really afraid that his hands would just catch fire and he’d be rounded up by the other priests in the chapel as some kind of lurking demon and pinned to the ground, but in the end, nothing happened.
Considering that later one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Naxxramas went from being a Paladin to a Death Knight yet still managed to summon the Holy Light, perhaps the Holy Light isn’t as completely incompatible with darkness as many believe.
On the way home in the evening, Henny seemed to be carrying something on her mind, and of course Jess could see it and simply took the initiative to ask, “What are you worried about, Mom? I’ve taken care of this injury.”
“Did you meet any girls you liked while you were in Stormwind?” Henny asked suddenly.
“I’m still a month away from turning eighteen, what are you two in such a hurry for.”
“I had you all of eighteen.”
“And didn’t my dad meet you in his twenties?”
“Your dad’s been in the military since he was a teenager, and I just wish I had someone to take care of you for me.”
“There’s plenty of people to take care of me, mom, you don’t have to worry about that.” Jess glanced at his mother and said, “Besides, you’re holding me to too high a standard for picking a date, if the other half I get back after half a day of searching isn’t as pretty as you are, wouldn’t that be the more I live, the more I go back? I have to take my time and look carefully, I can’t be in a hurry.”
Henny smiled and said, “It’s not enough to look at the outside.”
“I know.” Jace said, “And I don’t know who saw a big tall guy on a horse running down Burrell Street back in the day and followed the devil like he didn’t even know his name.”
The two talked and laughed their way back to the house, where the family ate dinner and Jess slept incredibly well during the night.
He hadn’t fallen asleep so soundly in what felt like a long time.
But the time for relaxation always passes quickly, accompanying my father on guard duty during the day, fishing on the busy pier, eating fruit from passing vendors, shopping with my mother in the evening, chatting as a family about future plans, and two days are gone in a trance.
The morning he left, Jace got on the boat and watched as his parents stood on the dock looking up at him with a smile and an effort to wiggle his hands.
The two seemed as if they were thinner than they had been two years ago.
Farther and farther away, his father held his mother in his arms, and Jace could see from afar that her shoulders were shaking uncontrollably.
For the first time, he wished his eyes weren’t so good, and simply sat down and stared at the lake flooding with ripples.
It’s time to go back to Dalaran again.
Orcs, death knights, black dragons, these things were like dark clouds in the sky, and the ship was sailing headlong as it watched it get closer and closer.
