    Chapter Index

The panther was finally hauled on deck just before dawn.

Being rushed down to help the goblins and other sailors together tied up round and round, it has lost the will to fight back, lying on the ground like a mummy like a motionless, even the mouth is trapped only its eyes can move a little.

But Jace was more concerned about his cloak than this leopard.

He tried rubbing the scratches with dipped seawater, and as he rubbed they seemed to fade a bit, so he kept rubbing, trying to erase the white marks completely.

After half a day of scrubbing, I ended up with some marks present that you can still notice when you look closely.

Other than that mark, there was nothing broken, the panther had little strength left at the end, or it might have been a bit more serious.

At this kind of damage, it doesn’t always take as much as 30 silver coins to fix it if it can be repaired, does it?

It’s not really that obvious, so let’s just leave it at that.

While Jace was over here dealing with his cloak, the leopard over there, surrounded by men in five different ways, was always staring at him, as if he knew what he had done.

It was as if he knew why he had suddenly become so weak and powerless, and what it was that had finally caught him.

Jace could even feel the beast’s intense hatred for dark magic, maybe he had encountered those warlocks during the orc invasion and had been victimized by dark magic. How else could he have such hatred?

It was then that the arena guards who had been transporting the Night Baron finally dared to step forward and take responsibility for their mistake.

It was a rather sturdy fellow, and while he had the typical brunette hair and highly dimensional looks of a Stormwind Kingdom resident, his skin was red to the point of darkness from prolonged exposure to the outdoors.

He addressed the passengers present who had just gotten over the shock of the night, “Next time we’ll double check the flute’s security measures, in fact we were supposed to hypnotize him all the way with a drug to be a bit safer, and it’s possible that the storm caused the drug to wear off prematurely. In any case, it was uncalled for to have such a problem, and I’m willing to pay half the bounty as compensation.”

“Why didn’t you go down and catch him just now?” The topless man stepped forward and questioned, “You should be the one who knows best how to get this leopard back, even if it’s just to step forward and give some tips!”

“No need to get hung up on that, sir.” The goblin captain interjected, “As much as I hate to say it, because I appreciate what you’ve done, getting paid means getting things done, and if he’s going to give you any critical advice, shouldn’t you be sharing a share of that money with him as well? After all, part of this trapping mission is to make up for the losses this man and his master have brought about, and since you got your share of the agreed upon bounty and he’s willing to pay something, I’d like to see this discussion end here and not dwell on it any longer.”

The topless man was a little indignant, but didn’t know what to say in retort.

Grid and Jace were too lazy to care about the argument, and instead of taking all the silver coins, the two of them chose to take one gold coin and 40 silver coins, since the value of gold coins was more stable after all.

The two of them don’t need to split the money, after all, they’re traveling together, so they try to take the more valuable ones.

Now Jace was squeezing this one gold coin in his hand and looking around, not knowing how long it had been since he had last touched a gold coin with his own hands.

It is a Gulabash gold coin bearing the image of a winged wind serpent.

In the moment it was also recognized in most places because the weight was not too far from the various styles of gold coins circulating within the Alliance, and because too much of it had flowed around during the decline of the vast Gulabash Empire.

Grider reached over and said, “Let me see, I’ll let you have it you don’t want to take it all for yourself.”

Jace handed it to him and Grid rubbed the snake statue on it and giggled twice, as long as the goblin paid out enough, everything else was secondary.

At that moment, Jace noticed that the man who had told them the information about the Baron of the Night earlier was leaning over the railing looking at the panther, and he padded over to him and asked, “Sir, do you know where the beast is going to be sent?”

“You didn’t know?” The man replied, “The recently opened Dunhold Arena in Blackmoor has made a name for itself in the Kingdom of Lordaeron, and quite a few nobles from Otterland, and even Arash, have traveled not far from dry miles to see …… the orcs in the arena there! Who wouldn’t want to know what the star beasts of Gulabash look like in front of the orcs of Dunhold?”

So that’s how it is, this black panther is going to Dunhold Castle to fight with the orc slaves, no wonder the shipping cost is so high, such a star doesn’t know how much he can earn from just the appearance fee, not to mention what kind of dividends from the audience’s buying of tickets and so on.

Jess knew how someone like himself on a dead wage couldn’t even imagine how much these showbiz ones could make.

“Can’t tell, you two.” The nobleman said, “I thought you guys were going to die down there, but I didn’t expect to come back in full force, but that guy with the ponytail is pretty badass.”

Jace had been helping to carry the panther earlier and hadn’t noticed what was going on in getting the ponytailed man into the cabin, and it was only now that he relaxed that he remembered that the ponytailed man was still struggling to catch his breath when he last saw him.

At that moment a few human sailors were arguing fiercely with the captain and the goblins about something, they weren’t speaking the common language, but the human sailors kept pointing in the direction of the northeast, which was the direction of the port of Minethil.

Jace could guess that they were probably arguing about whether or not to go to Port Minethil to rest.

It was evident that the captain still clung to his choice of continuing straight on until he reached Southsea Town, leaving about four days of sailing, which would enable him to reach Southsea Town before the first of December, and give Jace and Grider a much more liberal travel time.

That was certainly what Jace wanted, because to turn to stop at Port Minethil could be a two or even three day delay.

From what he heard from the people around him, the ponytailed man didn’t seem to be in any danger of dying for the time being, but in the middle of the ocean, no one could say what would happen.

Jace was glad he wasn’t the captain of this ship and didn’t have to make this dilemma.

Still, it was no dilemma for the goblin captains, who would not delay to save the wounded.

At this point, the argument seems to have come to a head.

The captain walked up to the crowd once more, he looked out onto the deck, a number of people had already returned to their cabins.

“Is there a chaplain here, we currently have three or four wounded, two of which are very badly injured and need specialized chaplains.” The captain shouted, “If there are no priests, any druids, shamans, witch doctors, sages, sea tide priests, if you have a way to make the deaths slower, whatever you can use to step forward, I’ll pay for it, as long as I can get these wounded to survive to the town of Southsea alive!”

Looking at those who went to the captain to answer the call, Grid leaned on the wooden crate and said darkly, “I didn’t even know that there were priests on this ship, why didn’t I be more active and step forward to help just now? Speaking of which, if only I had joined the Church of the Holy Light back in Stormwind City, they taught me a little bit about saving people, and I could have earned a lot more silver coins.”

“Maybe that’s why you can’t be a priest.” Jess said.

“You should become a priest, Jace.” Grider sat up and said, “You mean exactly the same thing as those vultures at the Cathedral of Light.”
