    Chapter Index

For the next two or three weeks, Jace practiced his sword at night and continued to strengthen his Arcane Wisdom casting during the day, allowing him to last longer and longer.

Marin’s requirements were to meet the criteria to help practice mage armor and to make it last at least 3 to 4 hours, and the first time Jace managed to cast Arcane Wisdom that day, it lasted only a few minutes before it disappeared.

So to reach that standard, he had to practice harder and catch the exact technique of manipulating arcana.

But in order to keep himself from gradually doubting his life under the influence of Arcane Wisdom as Marin had said, he had been practicing with Saeuno. After all, the guy himself couldn’t feel anything if he was smart for a while or dumb for a while, so as long as he felt like he could see things more clearly, then consider it to have worked.

Of course, in addition to sword practice and practicing Arcane Wisdom, the most important thing to do was to continue to learn the Orcish language and to practice writing my own essays.

On October un, Master Dushan announced the title of the exam, which was pretty much what Marin had guessed, a discussion in Orcish about the main conflicts and common interests of the kingdoms within the current alliance.

Jace was then going to pick a topic that is now a bit of a fizzle of recent heat compared to the big Union Expeditionary Force topic – the Union Internment Act.

Not because he didn’t want to rub it in, but because he knew too much about the future of the Alliance Expeditionary Force, the end of the Sons of Lothar, the disappearance of Marshal Tulayan and Aurelia Windrunner, and the Millennium War that followed, the struggle for Argus, the battle between the Burning Legion and the Legion of Light… …

He worries that he will unconsciously reveal too much in an article or Q&A, thereby revealing something he shouldn’t.

Caddo Duchamp is not only an orcish teacher himself, but is also fluent in many languages, has lived in many places, and understands the cultures of all races and different kingdoms.

He had a not-so-shallow knowledge of history, and geography, so if he accidentally exposed anything he shouldn’t know, he would surely catch him.

The “Union Reception Act” was relatively safe; after all, it had existed in name only since the fall of Lordaeron, and Jace knew no more about it than the natives here.

The “Alliance Accommodation Act” is simply a bill passed by the Alliance, led by the Kingdom of Lordaeron, on the treatment of orc prisoners.

It requires all members of the entire alliance to centralize orc captives in a newly built internment camp in the lower Ortolanic Valley, and to co-finance its operation.

Recently, many kingdoms or powers holding orc prisoners have discovered a problem – that is, the orcs are no longer as violent and bloodthirsty as they were during the time of the war, instead, they have appeared to be fragile and lethargic as if they were collectively infected with a disease.

Antonidas, the leader of Kenrito, believed that this was the reason why the orcs were suffering from the fading influence of the demon, and so he agreed with Terrenus II’s proposition that he would continue to take these orcs into custody and find a way to heal the demonic influence, seeking to co-exist with these orcs in an attempt to have them work to make up for the losses of the war in the future.

However, the opinions of Dalaran and Lordaeron were strongly opposed by the other kingdoms, and when the shelters were set up, the idea of coexisting with the orcs was no longer a point of discussion.

Because the maintenance cost of the shelter was shared by the entire alliance, those kingdoms that had lost heavily in the war were already having a hard time coming up with that much money to feed these orcs after the war, not to mention the fact that the people they were paying to feed were originally thugs who had killed their citizens and burned their lands.

Most notably, the nations have already put up a significant amount of money for the rebuilding of New Stormwind, and are even more stretched when it comes to supporting the shelters.

The initial prosperity of the shelters, which were used to demonstrate the level of civilization in the Alliance, came to a halt when the major kingdoms’ finances bottomed out, and turned into a thorn in the side of relations between the kingdoms within the Alliance.

To add insult to injury, the original administrator of the shelter was the prestigious Darnus Torbain, who had joined the Alliance Expeditionary Force and so could no longer hold the position, thus increasing the number of politicians and nobles who dared to speak out against the Alliance Shelter Bill.

Since Stormwind City was largely destroyed because of the war, the entire kingdom was also the most valiantly resisted and damaged in the alliance, so it was basically the beneficiary in the various alliance bills after the end of the war as well.

The major kingdoms that opposed the bill were all in favor of funding the rebuilding of Stormwind, and Stormwind was greatly helped by the Lordaeron and Dalaran sides. Therefore, King Varian did not want to offend any party, and the politicians had the good sense to maintain restraint in the discussion of this bill, which in turn made Stormwind City a place where this topic could be discussed with relative objectivity.

The study of spells and orcish language during the day and the evening sword training with Grid did not let up.

On the one hand like Jace said, relaxation was certainly one thing, but more importantly, he was feeling more and more the importance of power in this world.

Soon it would be time to leave Stormwind back to Lordaeron, back to Hillsbrad, and Jace wondered what more dangerous things he would encounter in that land.

He’s going to be prepared for this, as well prepared as he can be in everything, both physically, and mentally.

Once you’re on the boat to Southsea Town, there’s no turning back.

In fact …… practicing swordsmanship and magic is even a little more important than practicing orcish.

If the orcish language didn’t pass muster, he’d just have to pay for his own trip to Lordaeron, at which point he could just sell the string of naga beads in his hand, and even if he couldn’t sell it for the 40 silver coins the merchant had said he’d need, he could at least top off some of the ship’s ticket.

And both the physical quality and the level of magic determined how high his chances of surviving after leaving Stormwind City were.

As a result, he was incredibly conscientious and hard-working, both during the day and at night, and after getting Marin’s 10 silver coins’ paycheck to ensure his livelihood for the past two months, he stepped up even more to improve himself.

The seriousness with which he practiced his sword at night amazed Grider at times.

After all, Grid didn’t know what had befallen Jace on the shores of the Wild West, and the more Jace thought about how weak that naga might be, the more he thought about his own weakness, and then how powerless he felt in the world.

Once you set a goal and work towards it, time flies, and before you know it, it’s November 12, time for the Orcish exam.

All this time, aside from helping Marin deliver two more packages to Lakeside and Stoneforge, Jace had been improving himself.

By the end of the day, he had finished his essay and revised it a few times, prepared answers to possible questions in Orcish for Master Dushan’s exam.
