“Shut up! Keep your voice down!”

    Jace growled toward him.

He flipped through Gagin’s notes on the conditions of casting the spell and reconfirmed the gesture, as he was sure he had recited the spell correctly.

Sheep had become so agitated that his movements and voice had changed shape, as if something worse than death was chasing him, a violent aberration of normal things that made even Jace, who was used to seeing all sorts of horrific monsters, a bit frazzled.

There aren’t many warlock spells that aren’t evil, and it’s not unusual for animals to have a sensitive reaction to those dark, negative spells as they have a purer sense of the natural world.

Jace can’t afford to be surprised by these things anymore if he wants to stay on this path.

With that in mind, he murmured an incantation and walked over to the sheep once more.

The sheep looked at it, and its eyes had begun to tremble incessantly, and when Jace had just lifted his hand, the sheep was frightened again, and tossed about as if its life depended on it. Jace felt that the rope that held it was about to be broken.

“Eramancy Leondore ……” this time in a voice he was much lower, but more mentally focused.

Concentration …… is like what Marin said, must stay focused. After the chanting was completed, he suddenly felt a hot current surging out of his heart, gradually filling his whole body, and he vaguely felt a trace of a connection with an unfamiliar touch between himself and this animal, but he couldn’t see the substantial existence of this connection.

That is to say, Jace felt the life-suck take effect, but it wasn’t indicated by a green trailing line like in the game.

The sheep’s screams gradually turned into whimpers, its frantic movements became a little bit sluggish, and Jace saw it getting weaker and weaker, more and more powerless, and its previous struggle was now reduced to just a feeble shaking as it rubbed against the side of the big tree.

Instead, Jace felt his body getting hotter and hotter, his skin swelling, his eyes itching, and his heart beating faster and faster, like there was a little man in his chest who kept punching toward his ribs.

A violent retching washed over Jace all at once, and he bent over, his right hand still maintaining the spell, but it was getting harder and harder to concentrate.

A sudden burst of bright yellow light flickered between his own fingers and the sheep, and quickly dissipated, leaving only a bit of fading green.

Jace was shocked for a moment by this sudden manifestation of energetic brilliance, and the drawing magic he was channeling was cut off ……

Is that, the color of life? Or is it …… evil energy?

No, this magic was shadow magic, and those yellowish, pale green things must be the life force drawn out by the shadows, the vigor from the sheep.

The sheep had lost the energy it had had a moment ago, it had just been shorn, and the new hair on its body hadn’t grown very long yet, but like Gagin said, the rest of this short hair had withered and fallen off, and the skin of the rest of its body was wrinkled and gray and had lost its blood color.

Jace walked over to check on the sheep and realized that it was no longer able to stand on its own, too skinny to be a sheep, but rather like a withered wild dog rummaging through the garbage for food.

Has its vitality …… been drained from itself?

Jace looked at his red hands and felt incredibly hot, his brain buzzing and his ears ringing weakly and strongly.

Another wave of retching rushed up his throat and he spat out a mouthful of blood with a wince, wiping it with his hand, his nose, and mouth were bleeding.

Looking at the bright red blood on the floor he was a little panicked.

    “Sarno! Scheherazade!”

The Kid slithered to the front and Jace pointed to the blood on his hand and asked, “What’s going on here?”

“I guess you smoked it too hard!” The kid said, “Your body is already so energized that it can’t carry the strong life force of this sheep!”

At that moment, the sheep fought to get up as if it were returning, and limped away into the distance, and the rope was surprisingly got rid of at once because the sheep’s body was so much thinner!

Jace couldn’t care less about it anymore, he was feeling severely thirsty, his lips were dry and peeling, his vision was blurry, and he had to drink some kind of water quickly.

Crystal Lake was just to the northeast, recognizing this he what to pick up his luggage and turn his head and run, not knowing how long he had been scurrying, not knowing how much blood he had vomited before he finally reached a creek out of nowhere, he plopped down into the water and washed his face before he saw that his eyes were already full of blood.

He frantically washed his hands and face until he had wiped away all the blood, and did not stop until he had stopped vomiting and coughing up blood …… after his body’s senses were almost back to normal and his brain was no longer dizzy.

Jace took a few big gulps of water and sat down on one of the round rocks next to the stream to rest for a while before the Kid grabbed his package and just followed.

He wiped the water stain off the side of his mouth, but something didn’t feel right.

Looking to the back of his hand …… the scar on it has surprisingly lessened!

Those still vaguely painful burn marks were now surprisingly just a few bumpy pale marks on the skin!

    Is this a life-sucking effect?

Those life energies, which repaired the injuries on his body and overflowed before rupturing the blood vessels in his body?

But in reality, despite all the blood, Jace didn’t feel much serious pain or weakness.

Instead, what surprised him the most was that he had extracted such strong life energy in such a short period of time, which was far stronger than those Black Iron Dwarves described by Gagin.

Was this the result of a more standardized spell, or was there something else going on inside? Jace sat on the rock, quietly feeling the changes within himself; after all, he had experienced very serious emotional outbursts when utilizing shadow magic before, whether it was more craziness, more excitement, more bloodlust ……

But this time he didn’t feel too much negativity, he guessed that maybe it was because the sheep’s life force repaired the damage caused by the Shadow, this spell could probably be used as a healing ability.

It certainly wasn’t nothing that was without its problems, the biggest flaw being that, after calming down from the stunned sleep he’d just had over the spell’s effects, he felt incredibly tired physically.

Even with as much focus as possible, as standard as possible, it was still inevitably a massive drain on the mind, whereas before, neither the fear spells, nor the light spells, and so on, had been so taxing.

Jace could pretty much guess that this life-stealing magic was probably considered a somewhat higher-ranked one, having touched the upper limit of his energy.

But just once he got very good results, he wanted to go back to Stormwind immediately, go faster and still reach the gates at night, so he wouldn’t have to make more attempts.

He had to go to a doctor or a priest or something to have his body looked at, after all, he had just vomited blood and couldn’t ignore it.

As for the sheep …… There is no shortage of sheep driving around in the Elwyn Forest, so let s give it back its freedom as compensation for having endured a set of deadly spells of its own.
