Life of a Magic Academy Mage – 501
by Jessie@AFNCC
Episode 501
The skeleton principal said in a meaningful voice.
Please take care of me. Explain the beauty of Einrogard.
‘Can I do well?’
I accepted it because it was a ticket to go out but after receiving it I suddenly became worried.
Is there such a thing as beauty in Einrogard?
‘It seems like all there is is pain and sadness…’
There was no way someone like the skeleton principal would just give me a ticket to go out without any reason.
Of course when a famous bard goes out wouldn’t you be asking them to make sure he doesn’t sing a song like ‘Oh the students of Einrogard are suffering in hell?’
However no matter how hard Lee Han tried there was a limit if the only thing in Einrogard was pain and sadness.
Will I be able to do it well?
* * *
“What are the students over there doing?”
“The fence broke recently so we’re coming out and fixing it.”
Lee Han answered Ipadur’s question without hesitation.
In the distance the Black Turtle Tower friends were fixing a broken fence while swearing.
Ipadur asked a sharp question like a seasoned and experienced bard.
“Then why are you fixing it this early in the morning?”
“Because I love school so much.”
The skeleton principal next to him looked at Lee Han with admiration.
How can you say such embarrassing words without even a second of hesitation?
‘How on earth did someone like that come from the Wardanaz family?’
“I think at night that I couldn’t fix everything during the day so I came out like this so I guess I love school that much.”
“It is truly amazing how much love wizards have for Einroguard.”
“It’s natural.”
Lee Han processed the sound that would have made the Black Turtle Tower students throw hammers if they heard it without blinking an eye.

Professionals don’t get swayed by personal feelings.
“Has there been any flooding recently?”
Ipadur asked in a surprised voice while walking along the forest path.
Originally it wasn’t a place where water would have been but there were still traces left as if there had been some kind of flood.
“yes.”
“As far as I know… it’s probably not the rainy season yet right?”
Lee Han looked at the skeleton principal. The skeleton headmaster nodded his head as if it was okay.
‘You can say that much.’
‘All right.’
“Einrogard is an area with strong magical power so many strange phenomena occur there. “This spirit flood was one of those phenomena.”
“It is truly amazing. “Such capricious natural phenomena are rare even in the empire.”
“I guess it’s like that.”
The old turtle bard supported his body with a cane and looked around with excited eyes.
He then took out his quill and began to jot down something. The skeleton principal glanced at the note.
In Einrogard a cradle where outstanding wizards are raised various phenomena occur. Young wizards solve these phenomena with the help of seasoned wizards.
The skeleton principal gave a happy look.
It seems that this seasoned bard fell into the trap of stereotypes and common sense and failed to recognize the truth about Einrogard.
Even without the help of seasoned wizards!
‘Just continue like this. ‘Wardanaz.’
‘Don’t worry.’
“for a moment. How will students get around when flooding occurs? Are you using magic too?”
“yes. “We use magic to build ships or summon tanju fish.”
“thank you.”
Ipadur paused while taking notes.
“Do you summon Tanjur?”
…
The skeleton principal looked at Lee Han as if asking what he was doing.
Lee Han also thought it was a mistake.
‘I made a mistake.’
Come to think of it summoning Tanjoo was not a common way to respond when a flood occurred.
“Who summoned Tanjuer?”
Ifpadur was so intrigued that he held on to the quill with the attitude of never giving up.
“I summoned you.”
“Very interesting… very interesting.”
The skeleton principal gave Lee Han a look as if telling him to come to his senses.
The disciple should not have lost his mind already.
“Lord Gonadaltes. Do all of Einrogard’s students know how to summon Tanjur?”

That’s not it. I know how to summon only a few outstanding students.
“Some students…”
Oh sir. Look over there! Giants are wrestling!
The skeleton principal changed the subject by pointing to the mountain range.
Fortunately Ipadur also looked away as if wrestling with giants was more interesting than expected.
“It’s rare to find a place where you can see giants like this and it’s truly amazing. Prince Gonadaltes. By the way this may be a rude question but… Don’t giants cause harm to students?”
The giants were not a threatening race like monsters but they were not friendly and warm neighbors either.
If you accidentally collide with young wizards you could cause great damage.
The Skeleton Headmaster said letting out his hearty laugh.
haha. As you can see from the streets students never encounter giants. They are the mountain rangers who protect the mountain range.
“indeed. “That’s what it is.”
You know Wardanaz here as he hangs out with the giants. Tell me. Wardanaz. Did giants ever meet students?
“…”
Lee Han looked at the skeleton principal as if he were crazy.
Only then did the skeleton principal realize his mistake.
‘Shit.’
Come to think of it Wardanaz was still a student.
“No… student Wardanaz… a giant…?”
When Ipadur seemed to be in confusion Ihan quickly started the process of extinguishing the fire.
“Actually there is a giant who saved me…”
Lee Han told the story of how the giant saved Kurusha and the story of him giving her hair for a chess match (with some adaptations).
Thanks to that he became friendly with the giants and was able to watch them raise mountain-destroying sheep the other day.
The old bard nodded his head looking very impressed.
“It’s an amazing story. This is a very amazing story! “It’s hard for a young wizard to become this close to a giant.”
haha. Wardanaz is a very sociable guy. boy! I told you not to go to the mountains because it was dangerous!
Lee Han coldly looked at the skeleton principal.
The skeleton principal looked away perhaps realizing that he had crossed too far.
After that Ipadur walked along the forest path and looked around admiring the moon and stars rising above the mountains and lake.
Seeing the bard singing on the surface of a lake as clear as glass Lee Han once again realized the merits of Einrogard.
‘The scenery here is better than I thought!’
Usually I think ‘How many fish should I get from the lake today?’ I didn’t know because I was just thinking ‘How many baskets of vegetables should I fill in the mountains today?’ but looking at it like this it was pretty good.
I looked to the side and saw the skeleton principal yawning.
If his other friends had seen him he would have shed tears of envy.
He got to hear Ifadur’s song right next to him.
‘hmm. ‘I don’t know either.’
He knew that he sang well but to Lee Han who had no interest in it Ipadur’s song was just a song that he sang well.
“But there is something I would like to ask Student Wardanaz.”
“yes. “I will listen.”
Lee Han thought he might have thought differently so he spoke as humbly as possible.
“Lord Gonadaltes invited me to study the connection between music and magic… Oh by the way. I should have asked this first but I made a mistake. “As I get older my memory gets worse… Which school are you studying in?”
“…”
…
The eyes of Lee Han and the skeleton principal wavered at the same time.
‘Can I tell you?’
‘I think you can tell me.’
“I am interested in all schools within Einrogard.”
“Is that so!?”
As if this story was also interesting Ipadur was startled and took out his quill again.
“Isn’t it impossible?”
“Thanks to the professors who generously pay attention to me although it is difficult I am somehow achieving success.”
‘I ordered it but he’s really crazy.’
The skeleton principal was even in awe of the answer that came out as if a flattery device were inserted into the coin.
Could it be that the idea of placing this disciple in Einrogard was a mistake?
If you have a tongue like this shouldn’t you be sent to imperial politics?
‘But I like magic too much for that.’
Lee Han continued speaking not knowing that the skeleton principal had decided on his career path in a short period of time.
“I can sense that the students truly respect the professors at Einrogard.”
“I am very lucky. haha.”
“It seems so. “Back to the point… How interested are you in music?”
The skeleton principal gave me a look and said ‘Just tell me you like it.’
“I really enjoyed the last song written by Ipadur. Exciting rhythm…”
“You mean the exciting rhythm?”
“…Only Ipadur would be able to elicit a response from the people of the empire with a song that goes against the current trend.”
“aha.”
Ihan saw Ipadur’s reaction and immediately corrected his words.
“I’m lucky that there’s interest. As you know I have to work hard to help Prince Gonadaltes while he is researching the connection between music and magic and I think I will also need help from the students.”
Ifadur had also been a bard for a long time he knew well that there was nothing as capricious as music.
The same song had a different feel depending on what day it was sung so how difficult would it be for wizards?
Inevitably I needed other wizards to help me in various ways during my research.
“Can you possibly help me?”
In response to Ipadur’s question the skeleton principal frowned as if he was very displeased.
‘what?’
Lee Han was puzzled.
Given the personality of the skeleton principal I thought Lee Han would turn his back on any opportunity to learn magic regardless of whether it was difficult or not?
“What should I do if I help?”
“Hmm. It will be a bit annoying. “I will give you compensation but…”
“?”
Lee Han was taken aback when Ipadur said he would be paid.
Huh?
‘You get paid while learning magic?’
Does that make sense?
“…I guess I will lose some of my precious weekends. “Go out with Prince Gonadaltes meet the imperial orchestras and choirs listen to their music and magically…”
“Let us help!”
“Is that true?”
Ipadur was surprised.
No matter how good a magician he was he was still young so he thought it would be more important to have his own time on the weekend.
For example go out and enjoy a game of hardball or play chess at a cafe in the city etc.
“You will lose a lot of time.”
“Ipadur. “I am a person who has dedicated my life to magic.”
“Well seeing as you belong to so many schools…”
“…”
Lee Han felt hurt by what he said.
‘I was forced to listen to some of them.’
“I would be really happy if you could help me.”
…Shouldn’t we also check out Wardanaz’s talent for music?
The fact that Lee Han had to go out on the weekend instead of studying magic was a pain in itself for the skeleton principal.
He has to waste precious time on musical magic that he doesn’t know will come to fruition.
“it’s okay. Prince Gonadaltes. Whether you have talent or not you will all be an important example. Besides where else could you find such an interesting student? “I’d like to hear more.”
Damn…
The skeleton principal muttered quietly.
He succeeded in diverting attention from Einro Guard but Ipadur became interested elsewhere.
Well there was no way that curious bard wouldn’t be interested in the story of a guy like Wardanaz.
“Hmm?”
“Why are you doing that?”
“ah. Suddenly a thought occurred to me. Unlike normal floods spirit floods will not disappear naturally…”
“…”
