    Episode 256

    It was truly amazing.

    Is this really North Korea?

Or was it actually Earth before that?

To everyone’s surprise the blue fog cleared and the city revealed was absurd.

The ‘green’ city covered with a transparent dome-shaped barrier was truly beautiful but at the same time it was heterogeneous.

A sense of disconnection from reality.

The first thing I saw was a huge old tree towering in the center of the city.

Of course it was not as big as the World Tree but it was so huge that it reminded me of the World Tree.

The small branches and green leaves extending from the old tree in all directions covered the city like a roof.

And underneath numerous beautiful trees that looked like ‘buildings’ were creating the appearance of a vast city.

Looking at the windows sticking out of the wooden beams it seemed like they were not just imitating a building on the outside.

    “No way is that….”

Sirka twitched her eyes and mumbled as she held on to the hem of Cha Hae-in’s clothes.

Cha Hae-in looked back at Sirka.

    “why? “Do you know anything?”

“If I think right that is ‘Elvenwood’.”

    “Elvenwood?”

    Cha Hae-in tilted his head.

Sirka looked at the city and muttered with an expression of complete disbelief.

“I heard this from the village elders when I was young. “It is said that somewhere in the world of Elvenwood there is a village where ‘high elves’ live.”

    “High elf?”

    Wow-

Even as the conversation was going on the Kaisel carrying them had already reached the front of the city.

And when Suho who was gliding in front of him turned in the opposite direction and came back in this direction Kaisel also slowed down and waited for Suho in the air.

“Elvenwood? “That’s the city where the high elves live?”

    “Your ears are bright too.”

Suho has already arrived in front of Sirka.

Even at this very moment the battle between shadow soldiers and spirit-infused birds was still going on everywhere but Suho had managed to eavesdrop on their conversation.

    “What is a high elf?”

“High elves are a tribe higher than our ice elves. “If I am the guardian of my tribe I heard that the high elves’ tribe members are all guardian-level.”

    “what? “They’re all Guardian level?”

Lee Chae appeared in Suho’s eyes.

But Sirka looked a little unsure.

“huh. However I am not sure because this is just what I heard from adults. “The High Elves are a tribe that is only told about in legends even among us Elves.”

    “Do you know anything Szilard?”

Suho directly summoned the monarch who must have known more than both Sirka and the ice elves who had told Sirka about the high elves and asked.

[The King of the Yetis Lord of the Cold strokes his chin and shows off his pride.]

[The Lord of Frost the king of the Yetis says that the High Elves are a gathering place for losers who could not become monarchs.]

“Failures who failed to become monarchs?”

Suho tilted his head at the strange expression.

“That sounds like high elves are just below a monarch. Silad were you a high elf too?”

[The King of the Yetis Lord of the Cold nods.]

[The Lord of the Cold the king of the Yetis says that he is the only one among the ice elves who has risen to the level of high elf and that he is the king who rules and rules over all ice spirits.]

    “…!”

Sirka was greatly shocked by Silad’s words.

“Then what about me? What happens to me?”

    [Nagari-kun.]

    “…?!”

    Rattling.

Sirka’s expression froze like stone on the spot at Ber’s one word.

Until now Sirka had thought that she was the only descendant of the monarch.

But what would happen to the High Elves who were only known in legends if they still existed in that city?

[By the way Solord. Something is strange.]

    Ber added one more word.

[In the past during the war between rulers and monarchs I have never met high elves.]

“…hmm. That’s definitely weird. “Didn’t all races risk their lives in that war?”

It was definitely a strange thing.

Ber who loved fighting was the vanguard who went to every battlefield.

Is this a race that Ver has never encountered before?

[The King of the Yetis Lord of the Cold smiles bitterly saying that they deserve it.]

[The King of the Yetis Lord of the Cold says that the High Elves are cowards who want the monarch dead more than anyone else who wants to be the monarch.]

“Ah are you saying that they didn’t participate in the war and hid behind because they could only become the next monarch if the monarch died? Even until the species is destroyed?”

When I heard this I couldn’t help but feel something strange even though I understood something.

Suho thought for a moment and made a decision.

“…Let’s go into the city first. “You can only find out what kind of people they are when you meet them in person.”

The city was just around the corner.

From the looks of it it seemed like the battle in the sky could be easily left to the soldiers alone.

    “Come down with your mother.”

“Okay then. Kaisel would you like to drop us off and rest in my shadow for a while?”

Cha Hae-in nodded and gently patted the back of Sirka who was in shock next to him.

“are you okay. “No matter what anyone says you are a descendant of a monarch who was directly chosen by Szilard.”

    “….”

Cha Hae-in felt bad because it didn’t seem to be much of a consolation.

Cha Hae-in was the person who had watched Sirka closely while living with the ice elves for the past few years.

Therefore I knew better than anyone else how hard Sirka had worked to protect her tribe with this small and delicate body.

    therefore….

“It’s really going to be okay Sirka.”

    Pat pat.

Today my heart ached to see Sirka’s delicate back covered in abundant silver hair cowering in fear as if it were a hamster.

    * * *

As he entered the green city presumed to be ‘Elvenwood’ Suho actually had a real plan.

‘Good. ‘It’s an opportunity to grow Sirka.’

In the first place it didn’t matter to Suho what kind of high elves they were.

‘If it’s an enemy just kill it.’

    It’s all experience anyway.

That’s the biggest reason I came to North Korea in the first place.

‘It would be perfect to kill him turn him into a soldier and then train Sirka to become a high elf.’

[The King of the Yetis Lord of the Cold laughs evilly saying it is a very wise plan.]

‘…don’t laugh like that. ‘I feel like I’m a villain for no reason.’

[The King of the Yetis Lord of the Cold tilts his head.]

But I really didn’t feel any mercy towards the high elves.

No matter how much they want to become the next monarch they are cowardly bastards who hid behind even the moment their entire race was destroyed.

    Ber also gritted his teeth.

[It is right for those who have power to fulfill their responsibilities proudly. And if he had been proudly defeated and joined the Shadow Legion what a great help it would have been to the lord in the war against Italim…]

    It was then.

“Welcome to Elvenwood son of shadow.”

    …huh?

The moment Suho and his group entered the green city.

Tall elves over 2 meters tall came out to greet them with warm smiles.

Putting aside Sirka who was intimidated by the sight Su-ho and Cha Hae-in glared at them with wary eyes.

    “Son of Shadow?”

    “You know my identity?”

The old elf standing among the elves in the guardian’s life pointed outside the city with an embarrassed expression.

“How can I not know? “If you were going to hide your identity what should you have done with those soldiers first?”

    “ah.”

    Suho became a little embarrassed.

Outside the city Guardian’s shadow soldiers were still diligently hunting birds.

    [Your level has increased.]

Because there were so many people they were fighting hard enough to rise to their level at the right time.

The elves who came out to meet Suho looked fed up at the sight.

But there was no sign of fear.

‘It looks like you don’t want to fight?’

[Little Lord you can feel the energy of Italim from the moment you enter this city.]

[It seems to be the effect of the barrier covering this city. Let’s analyze what kind of barrier it is.]

Harmakan also appeared in a small form and whispered in Suho’s ear.

As he said this huge dome-shaped barrier was blocking the thick blue fog outside the city from entering.

    “What is this barrier?”

“Heh heh. You have a very curious expression. I’ll tell you everything so won’t you spare me just a little bit of this evil? “I can bear it just fine but the younger guys seem to find it a bit overwhelming.”

With those words Suho surrendered his life obediently.

Anyway this old elf who came to the front was still maintaining a kind smile even though he received the full force of the guardian’s murder.

I couldn’t tell whether the fact that he didn’t seem to be scared or flinched at all meant that he was confident even if a battle broke out or if he had no will to fight at all.

Suho glanced up and checked the name tags floating above their heads.

    [??]

‘Can’t confirm? Are you saying that we are a race that the system cannot interpret? or not….’

Suho looked at them with a suspicious gaze.

Like the ice elves the elves here were basically beautiful in appearance.

Handsome men and women even old men were handsome and beautiful.

However one particularly noticeable difference was the pair of ‘horns’ that sprouted from their heads.

At first glance it looked like a deer’s horn but the material was unusual.

“It looks interesting. “Is that thing growing on your head a horn or a tree branch?”

“It is meaningless to make distinctions. The appearance of the same elf also changes if the area it lives in changes. “It’s common sense to us but a tribe that lives in the same place their whole life might not know it.”

The old elf’s eyes swept over Sirka as he smiled and answered.

“…Anyway it’s been a while since I’ve seen Silad’s blood relatives. I don’t know if you know but we High Elves are nomads who wander around the good lands. As a result I don’t often go to cold areas.”

Cha Hae-in asked hiding the cowered Sirka behind his back.

    “Are you high elves?”

“You got it right. My name is ‘Fores’. Originally among us high elves there was no separate tribal leader but since I am the eldest I lead everyone.”

“But you… what happened to everyone’s eyes?”

As with the horns there was something I was most curious about from the beginning.

Every single one of the high elves here in Elvenwood had their eyes covered with a green eyepatch.

    “It’s snow…”

At Cha Hae-in’s question old elf Fores’ mouth drooped for the first time.

    He answered calmly.

“What can I do with my eyes? Even after seeing the destruction of the race I plucked out all the eyes that were just watching.”

    “…!”

“Anyway welcome. “I’ll show you around our village.”
