Sure no one will find out?”

Shirley stepped in and spoke faster, “Even I’m not sure, that’s why I’m thinking of running away tonight.”

“There’s a chance of survival if you run away. But stay here, and if you’re discovered, it’s a dead end, don’t you understand, Maureen?”

“I know you may be taking a chance, or hoping that Loseweather will spare your life if you’re found out, but we can’t put our lives in the hands of so-called luck or someone else.”

“Our lives …… are only as reliable as the ones we hold in our own hands.”

Shirley finished, raised her hand and pressed it firmly and forcefully on Maureen’s shoulder, the

“I’ll be waiting for you at the back of the Sanctuary, you have ten minutes to think about it, and if I don’t see you after ten minutes, I’ll leave on my own. Whether you live or die, you decide.”

Once the words were out of her mouth, Shirley said no more, turning her head back to the hallway and flipping through the window again.

The rustling footsteps drifted away, and Maureen stood in the doorway of her room, only to feel a chill spreading through her body.

    That gloom, from fear.

    ……

Ten minutes later, at the back of the Sanctuary, Shirley, leaning against the cherry blossom tree, finally waited for the delicate figure.

Maureen approached cautiously, the tip of her tail curling slightly and her eyes glancing around warily.

It was only after she got closer to Sherry that she breathed a sigh of relief.

“Thought so?” Shirley asked, tilting her head as she folded her arms over her chest.

    “Well, think about it.”

Maureen said, “Staying here, if I am discovered, it will definitely be hard to escape death …… And Constantine promised me before that if I can successfully get rid of Los Vespers, I will share a part of the Silver Dragon’s territory. But now that he’s dead, there’s no point in me staying here.”

Her tone was very flat, and she didn’t half rise and fall when she mentioned ‘getting rid of Loseweather’.

It’s as if it’s an extremely uncommon thing, so commonplace that it’s the same as ‘have you had breakfast yet’.

Shirley raised an eyebrow slightly, “How long have you been following Loseweather?”

Maureen thought for a moment, “More than ten years.”

Following a dutiful, rewarding queen for over a decade and still choosing to betray because of the big picture someone else painted.

Shirley didn’t think too much about it.

Anyway, she was done for the night.

“Let’s get out of here, Sister Shirley, we’ll talk more slowly once we’re out of here.” Maureen stepped forward and tried to pull Shirley along with her.

But Shirley stepped back and shrugged off Maureen’s outstretched hand.

Maureen froze slightly, “Sister Shirley what are you ……”
