    Chapter Index

Nelly smiled and didn’t retort anything further.

After a round of gunfire, Tag and Rebecca jumped off the short building and tangled with the patrol.

The scene quickly became chaotic as magic blasted against magic, swords and bullets flew.

Leon, on the other hand, took this opportunity to bypass the short building and slowly feel his way towards the city gates.

At the moment, the huge city gate was tightly closed, and it required at least four people to cooperate and activate the mechanism to open it.

However, there was a special passageway off to the side reserved for royalty.

Leon couldn’t open the front door, so he had to slip out through a special passage.

And now there were two more guards at the door of that Tet passage.

It’s not difficult to solve them, the hard part is that they must be evacuated quickly afterward, never delaying for a second.

Leon made his preparations and whirled around, little by little, to come up to the entrance of the special passage.

The two guards, armed with long swords and standardized pistols on their belts, were currently staring intently at the chaotic battlefield in front of them, and had completely failed to notice Leon, who had sneaked up on them.

Leon arched his back and took silent steps, slowly approaching from the side and back.

After getting close enough, Leon quickly struck, slashing one of the guards in the back of the neck, causing him to pass out straight away.

The other guard reacted quickly and raised his knife to Leon.

If you think you’re naive, consider that there was once an Imperial security guard who tried to solo General Lei, the strongest dragonslayer, with a short sword.

Leon easily dismounted the guy’s knife, and the other, undeterred, drew the sidearm at his waist again, but before he could take aim, Leon put him on the ground with a whiplash.

After quickly taking care of the guards, Leon took one last look at his Master and Rebecca on the battlefield.

    “Take care.”

With that said, Leon quickly turned around and blasted the security door to the special passageway with a Thousand Birds move.

He took a big step and ran all the way out of the Imperial enclosure.

And the guards who were tangling with Tag and Rebecca heard the commotion, and by the time they looked back over their shoulders, Leon was already running away.

“It’s Kasmode! Quickly chase after it! Release the Long-tailed Demon Ape, we must catch up with him!”

At a command, the cage opened and the two demonic apes howled with excitement as they chased after Leon.

The rain was pouring down and the ground was muddy underfoot, which greatly reduced Leon’s running speed.

But the Long-tailed Demon Ape was, after all, a beast, and running on all fours was not a problem.

The distance between the two sides was getting closer and closer.

The Devil Ape’s howl became more and more piercing, like a mockery of the prey that was about to arrive.

Leon glanced back at the two monkeys as he ran, and then he raised his right hand, faint lightning flickering in his palm.

The dark cloudy sky also began to surge.

Thunder rumbled, and in the next moment, a thick thunderbolt split down from the clouds, directly splitting those two demonic apes into horse buildings.
