    Chapter Index

“Well, that’s hard work. We’ll come back in for you in two nights.”

    “Good.”

Without much ado, Leon rose and took a step, toward the door of the room.

Rebecca walked ahead of him and led the way out the door.

As he passed the table in the doorway, Leon looked to the guitar on the table.

He stopped suddenly and said, “This guitar has been used for years, hasn’t it been replaced by another one?”

Victor laughed bitterly twice in the background, “Life is tight, so I’ve been using it as long as I can.”

Leon let out a faint oh, his eyes falling on the plectrum in his ear next to the guitar.

    Crystal clear and creamy.

Viktor always went for sophistication and taste in such small objects, Leon thought, stepping out of the room.

Closing the door behind them, the two left backstage and made their way through the lighted dance floor and smoky corridors to the outside of the bar.

Cool, fresh air greeted her and Rebecca greedily sucked . Inhaled it and stretched, her flat figure on full display.

“Well, do you think it’s him?” Rebecca asked.

Leon frowned in thought and shook his head, “It’s hard to say, you can’t judge until you see Martin.”

Rebecca grunted, fiddling with her ponytail and bouncing over to Leon, “You’re still as cautious as ever, Captain.”

“It’s always good to be cautious.”

“Then you got back-stabbed by the mole in the first place.”

    “……”

Good lord, this girl can’t do the same team voice with Leon as Los Vespers, but that mouth is on par with that mother dragon.

Specializing in poking at Leon’s heart.

“But back to the point, Captain, what if this birthday party Viktor is talking about is a trap? Do we still have to go to the date if we deliberately lure you in and then kill you?”

What Rebecca had thought of, Leon had naturally already thought of.

“This is a great opportunity to get in touch with Martin, and if I miss it, I don’t know how much longer I’ll have to wait, so going to the appointment is definitely on the cards. Just ……”

Leon grunted, “We don’t have to be on time for our appointments.”

Rebecca’s little brain was barely keeping up with Leon’s train of thought, “Don’t have to be on time for your appointment? Is it a matter of going a little late?”

Leon shook his head, “No, on the contrary, we …… go early.”

    xx

    I’ve been up late.
