    The

Viktor sniffed, pondered a little, and said, “It wouldn’t be that hard to meet him.”

    “Hmm? You got an idea?”

Victor nodded, “Two days from now, it’s the birthday party of that stepmother of Martin’s, inviting all sorts of friends as well as quite a few politicians and ministers, so we can blend in in disguise and find Martin then.”

Leon pondered, “A good opportunity indeed ……”

But isn’t …… a bit too much of a coincidence?

    Leon, on his side, had just returned to the Empire and had expected to have a hard time seeing Martin, but he hadn’t realized that his stepmother was celebrating her birthday at this time of year – not that she couldn’t, it was just too coincidental of a time to be in the middle of this;

Leon didn’t voice this doubt of his directly, he sized up Victor, his mind racing, and finally asked that

“How is this stepmother of Martin’s related to Martin? Ah, I just wanted to make sure that Martin is definitely attending his stepmother’s birthday party.”

Victor’s eyes slipped, and his vicissitude of face showed little expression, but there was a little hesitation before he returned, the

“I remember, I think it was a pretty good relationship. He even gave his stepmother a valuable piece of jewelry.”

Leon let out a long “oh” and then glanced at Rebecca.

The crazy girl had stood behind Leon at some point, her cute little face cold as she responded to Leon’s gaze without saying a word.

Leon didn’t say anything either and looked to Victor once more, “This news is very timely Victor, we’ll go to the banquet in two days then.”

“No problem. Oh yeah, and after we find Martin? How are you going to tell the mole who set you up then?” Victor asked.

Leon smiled mysteriously, “I’ve got it figured out.”

Viktor was stunned, and then he too compensated with a smile, “Ah, I’m among the targets of suspicion, so I won’t ask any more questions.”

    “Thanks for understanding.”

After a pause, Leon added, “Oh and by the way, now that you mention it, let me get this straight, just to be on the safe side, I’d also like to ask you to stay at the bar for the next two days, know what I mean.”

Victor wasn’t stupid, and someone who could be the deputy of the army could naturally understand Leon’s intentions at this point.

The so-called ‘just to be safe’ wasn’t for Viktor’s safety, but for the safety of a few of Leon’s people.

If Viktor was really a mole in the empire, then once he caught the opportunity to tattle on them, Leon and the others would be doomed.

And by keeping him in the bar and Leon’s men monitoring it from the outside, he was able to cut off his contact with the Empire.

As for why Leon wasn’t worried about whether or not there were any Imperials out there at this very moment gawking at them –

    The role of the master!

If the Imperials were really ambushing this neighborhood, then Master would have rushed in to inform Leon long ago.

Everyone in the elderly and infirm portfolio plays a vital role.

Three rows to the top, speeding through a copy of the Imperial Insiders.

Victor nodded as he figured out Leon’s intentions, “Okay, I know.”
